Dragon Kings #11
Dragon Sieged
Something called to me from the darkness…
I should’ve ignored it. Walked away like I have from so many things. But I couldn’t. Not when it whispered my name like it knew me.
Then I found her.
Hidden. Untouched by time. A mystery I don’t understand—and a temptation I can’t resist. There’s something about her that pulls at me, threads through wounds I thought long buried.
I don’t trust it. I don’t trust her.
But I can’t stay away.
Something is stirring. Something that shouldn’t exist. And the closer I get to her, the more I feel it…waiting.
She may be the answer.
Or the beginning of the end.
Either way—I’m not walking away.
In the next gripping installment of the Dragon Kings series, Donna Grant, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, delivers a dark, sensual tale of fate, power, and a connection that could change everything.

I enjoy these reads; action, danger, magic, and awesome romances! Fun start to the romance too! She’s found in a pod! Totally weird! Love it! There’s a bit of mystery surrounding why in the heck was she in the pod and what her purpose is. There’s a connection between Marcus and lady in the pod, Fedra, but it seems they may be on different tracks on certain things. An entertaining read, an interesting setting, and a dash of spice in this slow burn. Such a fun series!

Another hit by Donna Grant. I love the Dragon Kings and trying to untangle all the threads of this world. There were so many twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat. I am hoping as we find out more about the Star people we can get some cameos from the Reapers..

Marcus and Fedra: It starts out looking like this relationship is doomed from the beginning. But something keeps drawing them together. Fedra was "programmed" to hate all Dragon Kings, determined to kill them all. She has a unique ability that may help her do just that. Unfortunately, Marcus is a Dragon King, although Fedra doesn't know that. There's also Severon, an (evil) Star Person who plotted to use Fedra to destroy the dragons. With lots of twists and turns, it's hard to predict just how everything will work out. It ends with a bit of a cliffhanger regarding Severon's next plan and the possibility of another Star Person. Looking forward to learning what happens next in this complex Dragon Kings series.

DRAGON SIEGED is the eleventh instalment in Donna Grant’s adult DRAGON KINGS paranormal fantasy series, set in the author’s numerous interconnected series. This is lavender Dragon King Marcus, and Fedra’s story line. DRAGON SIEGED can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order as there is an ongoing premise throughout.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
SOME BACKGROUND: For tens of thousands of years the Dragons have lived and ruled on Earth but a war between the dragons and humans forced the Dragon Kings to send the other dragons through a portal into an unknown world. Fast forward to present day, the portal has been revealed, and the Dragon Kings have been reunited in Zora, with their family and kin, but a new war is on the horizon between the Dragons, the Divine and the people of Stonemore.
Told from several omniscient third person perspectives including Marcus and Fedra DRAGON SIEGED follows lavender Dragon King Marcus in the days following a voice he hears coming from an underground chamber, a chamber buried by time and space. Upon their discovery, a high-tech pod is unearthed, and a human female is found within but Fedra is no ordinary human, if human at all, and her nearness to the Dragon Kings is a threat to their existence and the dragon race.
The world building is detailed as a new threat has been introduced but from where Fedra originated is another concern. Eons have passed and yet Fedra has one directive, and if successful, the Dragon Kings will be no more.
The relationship between Fedra and Marcus begins as a rescue, of a sorts but Marcus’ draw towards Fedra is notice by the others although his nearness to Fedra could end his life. The lone $ex scene is passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is another ensemble cast of familiar, energetic and powerful secondary and supporting characters, many of whom we met in the previous story lines and throughout the numerous interconnected Dragon Kings/ Dark Kings series. We are reintroduced to Con and Rhi, healer Sian, Brandr, as well as the return of Villette, Lotti, Eurielle and another newcomer, a bigger threat than anyone could have imagined.
DRAGON SIEGED is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, magic and mayhem, acceptance and family. The character driven premise, once again reveals the history of the Dragon Kings and their clans who now reside on Zora, told through reflection, introspection and emotion. The characters are desperate and determined; the romance is limited but fated.

The Dragon Kings are still under attack from all directions and it is difficult to know who they can trust.
The whole situation with the mysterious voice talking to Marcus, the collapsed passage, the secret room, the technologically advanced pod, Fedra, and everything had me hooked right from the start. I was super curious about Fedra, where she came from, why she was there, what would happen if she regained her eyesight. Also, the bond between her and Marcus that seemed to compel him to act a bit out of character.
So, the story got off to a slowish start with everyone waiting with bated breath for Fedra to recover so they could start interrogating her. Marcus had a lot of confusing emotions when it came to Fedra. He knew she was probably bad news for the Dragon Kings, but he couldn't stay away either. As they spent more time together, their attraction grew. They talked a lot and asked pointed questions of each other. I enjoyed their interactions.
A lot of interesting things happened, a new villain was introduced, and Marcus and Fedra reconciled their differences and surrendered to the sizzling bond between them. Despite the heart-warming HEA, I found the ending quite abrupt. I had so many questions left about Fedra, and about her and Marcus. It was somewhat frustrating. I hope that these questions and others I still have from previous books will soon get resolved.
I can recommend this entire series if you like dragon shifters, magic, and steamy romance. This series should definitely be read in order. It is part of Donna Grant’s bigger Dark World and follows the events of the Dark Kings series.
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Secrets are revealed
Donna Grant's DRAGON SIEGED is another mesmerising addition to the Dragon Kings series. The city of Iron Hall is slowly beginning to reveal its secrets and the latest is a threat the Dragon Kings never imagained.
Marcus, King of the Lavenders, has been hearing a mysterious voice in the same corridor he and Ryder lost time in. He is being constantly drawn to an area which has collapsed. He is determined to find the prigin of the voice. Fedra is awakening friom the stasis she has been in for centuries. She was sent to Zora for a reason and is determined to complete her mission. From her stasis pod she is drawn to the man called Marcus, not knowing the secret he hides.
Marcus s intrigued, protective, even possessive of Feda when she is in stasis, but becomes even more so when she wakes. Once awake Fedra is not very forthcoming regarding her situation, but a discovery is made - she has an incredible affect on all those who possess magic. How? Why?
Marcus and Fedra are attracted to each other, but they are also on opposing sides, and a major confrontation is brewing. A journey to Stonemore has tender moments, desire building, and conversations that only show how deep the divide is between them. As their story progresses the tension grows, the suspense builds to the battle which has surprising revelations and brings even more danger to the dragons.
Yet again Donna has left e with more questions which need answering. The Realm of Zora has so many more secrets to divulge and I can't wait to discover them. DRAGON SIEGED was an intriguig story, with an ending which left me wondering what the dragons will be confronting next.

Donna Grant once again proves why she is one of my favorite authors.
Dragon Sieged is an exciting addition to the Dragon Kings series, filled with action, emotion, and the unforgettable characters that have kept me coming back for years.
From the very first page, the story pulled me in. The pace is perfect, balancing intense battles and dangerous situations with heartfelt moments that allow the characters and their relationships to grow naturally. The chemistry between the main characters feels genuine, making it easy to become emotionally invested in their journey.
One of the things I admire most about Donna Grant's writing is the way she continues to expand her world without overwhelming the reader. Every book adds new layers to the Dragon Kings universe while still feeling connected to the larger story. Long-time fans will appreciate seeing familiar faces, while newer readers will quickly understand why this series has captured so many hearts.
The dragons, the magic, the loyalty, and the sense of family are all beautifully woven together. Even in the darkest moments, there is always hope, courage, and the reminder that love and trust are worth fighting for.
As always, Donna Grant's storytelling is engaging, immersive, and incredibly difficult to put down. I found myself saying, "Just one more chapter," until suddenly I had reached the final page.
If you enjoy paranormal romance with memorable characters, thrilling action, heartfelt romance, and an amazingly rich fantasy world, Dragon Sieged is a must-read.
I can't wait to see where Donna Grant takes us next.

I've read and loved Donna Grant's books since the Warriors and Highlanders series. Her worldbuilding and characters are so multidimensional (see what I did there?!).
Marcus is the King of Lavenders, and has been sensing something or someone calling to him deep inside Iron Hall on Zora. Fedra has been in stasis for centuries waiting to awaken and fulfill her purpose. Their purposes are diametrically opposed to each other, and for this reason, their romance was a very, very slow burn. (Really, almost at the very end of the book.) New dangers to the Dragon Kings and their allies are revealed. Much danger and intrigue to get through before these characters can become a couple. Someone coming into the series at this point can easily catch on because the author provides detailed author's note in the beginning sharing backgrounds, and there is much contextual references to build the story.
I loved being back on Zora with the Dragon Kings and their mates. I was disappointed that we really didn't get to see much of Marcus and Fedra as a romantic couple, but hopefully we can see their story develop in the remaining books of the series. We're definitely working through to a climactic ending to this series, and I think that Brandyr (Con and Rhi's son) will have the culminating story. And it will probably be as explosive and riveting as his parents. Something for this bookworm to look forward to!

Listen. I opened this book expecting dragons, danger, magic, and romance.
What I got was EMOTIONAL DAMAGE, SECRETS, TENSION, DRAGONS, and a man who apparently thinks communicating is a personal attack.
SIR. PLEASE. USE YOUR WORDS.
The chemistry between these two? Absolutely illegal. The tension was so thick I’m pretty sure I could have cut it with a sword, a dragon claw, or possibly my Kindle.
And the secrets? BABY. EVERYBODY is hiding something. At this point, I didn’t know who to trust, who to side-eye, or who needed to be locked in a room and forced to have one honest conversation.
The dragons are bringing the power.
The danger is bringing the drama.
The romance is bringing the.
And I am over here mentally screaming, “JUST KISS ALREADY AND THEN TELL EACH OTHER THE TRUTH!”
Donna Grant said, “What if we take ancient magic, powerful dragons, dangerous secrets, forbidden attraction, and emotional chaos…”
And then she said, “Yes. All of it. Put it all in the book.”
And honestly? THANK YOU.
If you like your paranormal romance with powerful dragon shifters, deadly secrets, magic, danger, enemies who are suspiciously attracted to each other, and enough tension to set an entire kingdom ablaze…
ADD. THIS. TO. YOUR. TBR.
Because apparently I came here to read a book and left feeling like I personally survived a dragon war, three emotional breakdowns, and a relationship where communication was clearly the final boss.

As someone new to the Dragon Kings series, I was a little nervous jumping in this far into it. Thankfully, Donna Grant made it really easy to follow. The character guide at the beginning, with a brief backstory for each character, was a huge help, and I never felt completely lost, even though I was starting this late in the series.
The beginning hooked me right away. A Dragon King being pulled toward a mysterious place without knowing why, and the discovery of a woman in stasis, had me wanting answers immediately.
Once Fedra awakened, though, the story really slowed down for me. A lot of the middle felt like Marcus trying to reason with her while she kept telling herself the same things over and over. After a while, it started to feel like the story was spinning its wheels instead of moving forward.
Thankfully, the last part of the book really picked things back up. The reveals started coming, the stakes got much higher, and I found myself flying through the final chapters. I just wish that momentum had shown up a little sooner instead of waiting until the end.
This landed closer to a 3.5 for me, but I'm rounding up to 4 stars because the final chapters finally gave the story the momentum I'd been waiting for.
Thank you to NetGalley and DL Grant for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another one out for revenge
Donna Grant has written several books that follow this same general pattern of the woman seeking revenge. And in this case, I’m starting to wonder why the Dragon Kings haven’t thoroughly searched Iron Hall. They’ve never not been the ones to go searching with little fear. In this book Marcus has heard a voice in his head and he goes against Constantine and goes into a dangerous section that hasn’t been explored. Our female main character Fedra has been put into stasis and she hears Marcus earlier and calls out mentally to him. So, this is the start of a very long section that has little action and seems to slow the book down tremendously. When things finally start to pick up, I could have cheered.
I have been fan of Donna Grant’s Dark Universe for many years, and have enjoyed most of her books. Occasionally one will come along and I question what is happening that gives me the feeling that the book just drags…and this book is one that does. Moving the Kings to Zora hasn’t been the most enjoyable reading for me, but I continue to read them. Most are more than above average but this one is only 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 for me. I enjoy her interconnected books that give us bits about prior Kings, but this book didn’t do it for me.
I was given an ARC of the book by the author though BookFunnel and this is my honest opinion.

Dragon Sieged is the 11th book in Grant's Dragon Kings series. This was my first in the series and I thought (very incorrectly) that these might be standalone within the series. Don't be like me, I was lost, now Grant did do a decent job of giving some backstory to what has happened in previous books but there are so many characters and so much that happened that I just went along for the ride. The MMC in this book is Marcus and he is one of the MANY Dragon Kings. The FMC, Fedora, is found in a stasis pod with technology that doesn't belong on the current planet they are on. So how did she get there, why is she there, and what are the dragons going to do when she is awoken? While the book kept me intrigued, i felt like was missing out on not reading the other books before this one, that's on me. Maybe if I would have read the others then I would have been more invested in the war between the Star Persons and dragons but this one felt more like a set up to what is to come in book 12 as there was not that much action, slow for much of the book, and no romance just a "pull" between the two MC's until the very very end. This one is going to get a 3 star performance rating from me.

Another Goodreads giveaway book. I won Dragon Sieged as a Kindle edition, and I thought it was decent.
I went into it not realizing it was part of a series, and I definitely didn’t realize it was book #11 until after I finished it. I read it completely as a standalone, which probably explains why I had so many questions by the end. It’s pretty obvious that this book is setting things up for the rest of the series, so there are a LOT of questions left unanswered. I’m assuming those answers come with the earlier books or later books in the series, but for now I’m definitely left wondering about quite a few things.
Now that I know there are 10 books before this one, I’m actually interested in going back and reading the others to catch myself up to speed. I may have enjoyed this one more if I had the background from the previous books.
One thing that really threw me off was some of the spelling. There were words like “isna” instead of “isn’t” and “willna” instead of “will not.” I’m not sure if this was meant to represent an accent or a certain way of speaking, but I couldn’t really form that accent in my head while reading it. Instead, the spelling just ended up distracting me.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I wonder about the unanswered questions to see where the series goes. It was good, but I think I may have appreciated it more if I’d started with book #1!

Ok I will have to preface this review by saying I am a romance reader… almost exclusively. I love all kinds of romance and there’s really not a trope or type of romance I haven’t read and enjoyed (assuming the writing is enjoyable). But I am not crazy about straight fantasy, this new Romantasy, or similar reads where the love story is an after thought to the main plot revolving around the magick, mayhem, and danger. And that is where this story went awry for me. I have been a huge fan of all Donna Grant reads for almost two decades, but lately her stories have focused more and more on the universe and the drama surrounding the characters as a whole and less around the characters and the relationships they are building in each story. Yes, they are finding their mates, and falling in love, but that part of the story is often rushed, sometimes feels contrived, or in this story’s case seems to come as an after thought at the very end of the story. I enjoyed learning about Fedra and Marcus, but they spent far too much time on opposite sides, not building trust that when they finally found love it was too hard to believe in for me. The overall plot, with so many twists and turns, was well written and certainly terrifying, filled with so much pain and trauma that I surely hope they are able to bring in a therapist for Fedra. I liked seeing her find a way to stand up for herself, but the way that she made everyone around her have to repeatedly prove themselves in order for her to believe anything they said, even though they’d never given her a reason NOT to trust, was a little bit irritating. I would have loved for some of the chapter in the middle to have been a little shorter or glossed over and have had more chapters with Fedra and Marcus building a relationship so they could be fates that we could see were well matched and would grow together and form a lasting and loving relationship, despite all the challenges they would be faced with in the future. I am looking forward to whatever comes next in the series, but I hope there is a return to relationship building that used to be such an integral part of these stories.

Marcus is the Dragon King of the lavender dragons. He is on Zora and working in Iron Hall. Marcus and another dragon king went down a certain hallway and can’t remember anything that happened. Marcus hears a soft whisper and he finally gets through the rubble and finds a woman in a stasis. Fedra watched her people destroyed by the Dragon Kings. She was put in a stasis until the dragons get close. She plans to get revenge on the Kings. Marcus removes her and places her in a room in Iron Hall. When she finally awakes, she can’t see. What no one knows yet is that Fedra messes with people that have magic. Marcus tries to convince her that the Kings would not kill innocent people but she has her mind set and nothing will change it. When it’s finally revealed the truth about Fedra’s world, can she work with the dragons to take down a couple of the Star People?
This was an awesome story. A protective dragon. A woman who interferes with magical people. There is a cliffhanger, well maybe not exactly a cliffhanger but it leaves you wondering. Forced proximity. I voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley. I can’t wait for the next one.

Dragon Sieged delivers what fans of Donna Grant's Dark Kings world come for; high-stakes dragon shifter action and a richly built world; but this installment took a little longer than I'd have liked to find its footing in my opinion.
The first half leans heavily into suspicion and mistrust between the leads, and while some tension is expected, it came at the cost of the romance and the drama around Zora, which felt like the more compelling thread and didn't get enough room to breathe until later in the book. I found myself wanting to fast-forward through some of the first 20 or so chapters to get to the parts of the story I was actually invested in.
Fedra also didn't quite do it for me as a female lead. She felt less dynamic than some of Donna's other heroines, and while I don’t have to love a character initially, Fedra just didn’t grow on me much.
That said, once the plot picks up in the second half, Donna’s signature blend of danger, loyalty, and slow-burn intensity kicks in, and the payoff is satisfying enough to keep me invested in the series. Solid entry, just not her strongest (IMO).

I liked the idea of this book and what Fedra brings to the story. Marcus is protective and fears he might side with someone other than the Kings for the first time. This is even when Fedra’s evasive and not being truthful about her intentions. The ending didn’t bring me the same satisfaction like the others though because after a looong book even their relationship is an open ended question of how it will work.
What I did like was the continued world building and focus on Iron Hall. I love there were so many past characters brought into the story and continue to remain involved. Although for the amount of time Ryder is there where is his mate??
Villette is an interesting character who makes me feel for her. Is she still a villain or just one with a clipped wing and might turn into a Balladine? Given her heinous past how can you reckon the lives she ruined to giver her a HEA? It will be interesting to see what happens with her.
Brief Ciri the pink dragon sighting! She’s still hanging out with Kendrick and acting like she’s tolerating him.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dragon Sieged is in my opinion, a bridge book. What I mean by that is that it introduces several new characters that will be heavily featured in future books. There is a great deal of plot building here, which if you've jut discovered this series might be a little off putting, but I encourage any first time Dragon Kings readers not to let that discourage you.
Fedra has been in a stasis pod for thousands of years waiting to take vengeance on dragons. Marcus is a jaded Dragon King who hears her pleading whisper for help and is unable to resist answering her call.
While old enemies are still causing trouble, Grant introduces another supremely powerful enemy of Dragons, and I admit that sometimes I become "enemy fatigued" on behalf of my favorite characters. Still I read with interest and faith that when that horrible day comes when Grant wraps up the series and they all fly off into the sunset, all will live happily ever after.
That is not this book. Again, this book is a bridge. While there is technically a climax it does little but set up book 12. Be ready for that, and you will still be hooked!

Donna Grant delivers another strong installment in the Dragon Kings series. Dragon Sieged has everything fans have come to love... dragons, ancient magic, danger, and a slow-burning romance wrapped in mystery.
The darker atmosphere pulled me in from the very first page, and I enjoyed watching the mystery unfold. The chemistry between the characters felt natural, and the world-building continues to be one of the strongest aspects of this series. While the pacing slowed in a few places, it never took away from the overall story.
If you've been reading the Dragon Kings series, this is another enjoyable addition that expands an already fantastic world. If you're new to the series, I highly recommend starting with book one so you can fully appreciate everything that has been building to this point.
A solid 4-star read.
After finishing this one, I decided we're bringing the entire Dragon Kings series into Second Chapter Books. If you've been looking for a completed dragon fantasy series to dive into, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.

Dragon Sieged introduces a new pair of fated mates in Donna Grant’s newest Dragon King installment. Dragon Marcus, King of the Lavenders, is also an architect who has built most of Draegan and is now investigating a blocked tunnel that feels mysterious and ominous. While
Fedra, genetically manipulated by Sevrion (another Star Person and not a good one), has been created to destroy all dragons through their magic. She has lived for eons upon eons in a stasis pod. Marcus, King of the Lavenders, is drawn to her essence before he can even find her, and is driven to stay by her side as she awakens. The attraction and chemistry are strong, and this helps make them inseparable. Why is this important? They have to determine who, and more importantly, what she is, and why she wants to destroy the dragons. Meanwhile, Marcus has to figure out why he is drawn to her, even though she wants to destroy his world. Love is the driving force, but will they work through their issues to find a life together?

I don't know how Donna does it, but the world she builds always gets better and better with each instalment.
We are back in the Zora world where the dragons of earth were sent to, to protect them from being killed, but they have resentment to the dragon kings.
We got 2 more star people, one was helping the dragon kings until something happened to her and now her sibling.
There wasn't much romance in this one as the MFC was released from a status pod and she seemed to be sleeping, but still heard voices in the chambers that she was in.
Dragon kings are trying to figure out if she is an ally or an enemy.
Thank you Donna for the ARC.
I like Marcus the Lavender Dragon King, he is protective and supportive.
I'm not sure of Freda just yet. Hopefully in the next books, I'll get more of a feeling. In this book she was supposed to be sleeping for 1000s of years but got interrupted something. She has a plan that she must carry out and has an ability ( don't want to spoil it).
I can't wait for the next dragon King instalment.

Dragon Sieged is the 11th installment of the Dragon Kings series. I did not know that when I starting reading this book so there is your heads up!!
The story starts off with Marcus investigating a collapsed hallway in the underground city of Ironhall because he drawn by a mysterious connection. Once he and his fellow Dragon kings break through the rubble, they stumble a upon a beautiful woman in a stasis pod. Is it the pod, the woman or something else that is drawing Marcus in?? This question kept me reading and I was very intrigued by this unique concept!
The plot was a bit slow for me but definitely picks up toward the end. There were MANY characters and the character chart/guide in the beginning of the book was extremely helpful. Loved the slow burn and forbidden romance of Marcus and Fedra. I am definitely hoping to see their relationship blossom in he next book!

The next chapter with the Dragon Kings……. Marcus and Fedra. A dragon king and a mysterious woman. Every time Marcus gets near the atrium in the Iron Hall he hears a voice in his head. But since things are very unclear regarding this area, Con, their King of the Dragon Kings, has put a barrier to keep others out until more information comes forward. Only Marcus can’t seem to let it go. With the rebuilding that he is doing, it is near the atrium. There is something there and Marcus can feel it. When he moves things around and opens the area there is a room and he sees a pod. In the pod is a woman sleeping. There is writing on the wall that is hard to decipher. Marcus and his brothers open the pod there she is. She is taken out and placed on a bed. When she is able, she speaks but she can’t see. There is something going on but what? Marcus has a hard time staying away from her but without knowing who or what she is they are treading very carefully. They need to protect everyone especially the children. Get ready to experience new challenges that come their way.

Dragon Sieged brought such a gentle sense of mystery with Fedra's arrival in that technologically advanced pod, quietly drawing me into questions about where she came from and what she might mean for the Dragon Kings. Marcus's protectiveness and quiet pull toward her, even as she stayed guarded about her intentions, added such lovely tension throughout. I appreciated the continued world building around Iron Hall and loved seeing familiar faces woven back into the story, Villette especially stood out as such a tender, morally complex character. The bond between Marcus and Fedra builds so slowly and sweetly, with genuine warmth and thoughtful conversations that made their connection feel truly earned by the end. The pacing eases in gently, and as someone newer to the series I occasionally felt like I was missing a little context from earlier books, though the helpful character guide made it easy to settle in. The ending felt a touch abrupt and left some gentle questions lingering, but that only left me looking forward to book twelve.

Incredible!
This is Marcus and Fedra’s story. Fedra is from another realm and both her and Marcus feel a connection to each other. But she's out to get revenge against the dragons and that puts her and Marcus at odds with each other. I have to say I wasn't sure just how Donna was going to make this one work. I knew she would because she never lets us down but I was really wondering how and of course it was fantastic. There are new and exciting pieces of information that were revealed! This opens up a lot more ways for things to happen. There's more to tell and I really want to know about that thing in her neck and how they work around her “gift”. I really love this series and although you don't need to read the previous books for this to make sense, it really does make things tie together better if you do. Plus the other characters have their own stories and they are all so good. I can't wait for the next book!

As much as I loved the journey of the multifaceted relationship between Marcus and Fedra, I was frustrated that there seems to be a writing formula of sorts applied to this branch of the Dragon Kings series that is proving to be more annoying than exciting - to this particular reader.
I am enjoying the sophisticated storylines between the Dragon Kings and their mates. I appreciate that there is a great deal of history to impart to newcomers to the series and Marcus does a really good job of explaining it to Fredra. I like that she was not quick to fall in love but I did want to see her stop being so stubborn.
The evil that is perpetuated by the Star People is truly inspired. This reader cannot help but hope that Fedra's unique magic will come into play as the Dragon Kings continue to find their place on Zora.
I am eager to see what happens next.

Donna Grant delivers another gripping and emotional installment with Dragon Sieged. From the very beginning, there’s an intensity in the mysterious connection between Marcus and Fedra — a pull that feels both unknown and forbidden.Their dynamic is a slow‑burn emotional storm. Watching them navigate this powerful, unexplainable bond feels like witnessing a high‑stakes emotional chess game where every move is shaped by longing, fear, and conviction. You can’t help but ache for them as they struggle to stay true to themselves while being irresistibly drawn together. The expanding conflict with the Star People adds even more intensity. Their warpath against the Dragon Kings raises the stakes and deepens the world in a way that makes every chapter feel urgent and alive.Dragon Sieged is another Donna Grant gem — emotional, mysterious, and romantic in all the right ways. It leaves you wanting more the moment you finish.

DRAGON SIEGED is the next instalment in Donna Grant’s Dragon King series.
This is the story of Marcus and Fedra.
Marcus, King of the Lavenders, has been hearing a mysterious voice that continues to draw him in and investigate Iron Hall. Fedra has been imprisoned in a stasis for centuries that she is slowly awakening from, and she has a purpose that puts Marcus, the Dragon Kings and all everyone with magic in peril. Both Marcus and Freda have secrets and while remaining true to who and what they are, they can’t deny their attraction to each other.
The middle of the book gets bogged down a bit for me and I just wanted it to move at a bit faster pace, but that’s the fun part, getting to dig a little deeper into the who and what of it all. I’m not going to say this is a HEA ending but not a total cliffhanger either, its just enough of a what next, that will have us waiting to see what Dragon Blade has in store for the readers and the Dragon Kings.

Dragon Sieged is Marcus and Fedra’s story and it’s the 11th book in the Dragon Kings series, and while it can be read as a stand alone book, you’ll miss a huge amount of the back story. I’d highly recommend reading at least books 7-10.
Marcus is the King of the Lavender’s he’s carried the pain of losing his clan for millennia. He hears a voice calling for help and after ignoring Con’s order to not continue exploration of a blocked off area under Iron Hall, he eventually locates a hidden room that hold a woman in a stasis pod. Eventually the Kings agree to open the pod and we meet Fedra.
Fedra was placed on Zora in a stasis pod to pursue revenge against the Dragons for the destruction of her home in a different realm not realizing that the Dragon’s were enslaved by the Star People.
There were a lots of unexpected twists in their story, that left plenty to anticipate in the next book.

The kings have made Iron Hall their home, but it still has its secrets. Something in the old corridors calls to Marcus. A voice beckons him, but he is the only one who can hear it. Though Con has decreed everyone stay away from that are of the hall, Marcus is determined to discover just what is calling to him. Accompanied by his friends, they venture into the atrium. What they find surprises them all. A woman, trapped in stasis. Who is she? How did she get there? Is she friend or foe?
Marcus' protective instincts are instantly triggered. He knows he has to be careful. He needs to walk away, but he's not sure he can.
Tensions are high and the questions keep piling up. The Kings feel the danger, but aren't sure from where it will come. This next chapter in the Dragon Kings series has all the action, suspense and romance we've come to expect. Fast moving and offering a few surprises, this book was unputdownable.
