My new client is a brooding billionaire with a criminal past. Too bad he’s also my dad’s best friend… and I just let him bend every rule—including me.
Dexter Hale was my father’s best friend. Loyal. Protective. I was the girl who adored him. Now I’m the woman he watches like he’s imagining all the ways he could ruin me.
Working together, the tension coils tighter. His voice drops. His eyes linger. And when I tease him, challenge him, he looks at me like he’s already undone. He’s still all hard edges and paternal restraint, but I see the slip. He lets me in. Slowly. Reluctantly.
I know I’m playing with fire. But I’ve never wanted to be burned so badly.
I see the man behind the armor. He’s flawed. Feral. Heartbreakingly real. And I fall—hard.
Only this isn’t just a secret. It’s a betrayal. If my dad finds out, he’ll destroy everything—starting with Dexter.
Too bad he raised me to take what I want—and never apologize for it.
Falling in Love in the Midst of Chaos - This emotionally charged forbidden romance story was an entertaining read, with lots of drama and intense chemistry between the characters, that led to exciting passionate moments and an intriguing storyline, that keep me glued to the pages and unable to stop reading until I reached the end. This story will have you at the edge of your seat as you turn the pages, but you will definitely enjoy reading it just as much as I did. However, I only have it four stars, as there was no explanation as to why paying compensation to a wrongly convicted person would cause so much trouble.
I received a copy of this book free and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a story of Dexter and Violet. Dexter was wrongly convicted of a crime he didn’t do and finally released because of new evidence. He received a huge amount of money he invested in a charitable organization he created. Violet’s father is Dexters best friend. Violet went to work for Dexter and has planned a huge gala to help out his charity. Trouble arises and Violet steps in and diffuses the situation. Later in Dexter’s suite Violet finds him and he finally opens up and tells her everything about his release and the payment he received. Because of Violet’s profession she tells him it will be okay that they will release the facts and people will listen to them because of all the good he has done. I loved the happily ever after of this story.
MY FATHER’S BOSSY BEST FRIEND is a well written romance. I enjoyed the first three-fourths of the story but then it became R-rated. I prefer closed door stories.
