Kim has been an educator and technology specialist for over 20 years after graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Learning and Technology from Western Governors University. Kim is a Discovery Education STAR Educator and serves on the Texas Leadership Council for the Discovery Educator Network (DEN). In 2006 Kim became a National Board Certified Educator in the area of technology education. She is a FableVision Ambassador, was nominated for the 2005 Disney Teacher of the Year Award, and named the ‘2003 Digital Teacher Award’ from Digital Knowledge Curriculum (now Discovery Education) for her use of digital media in the classroom.


Kim’s passions include blogging, collaborating online with colleagues, reading, mentoring teachers, and spending time with her family and friends. She presents online webinars, conference presentations, and campus workshops. She recently published her book gamification and mystery adventure quests called, “Kid Detectives: Classroom Gamification Learning Activities - Mystery Adventure Quests”.
