I really enjoyed reading Peata's story. I loved the characters, especially Peata and Calder. The description of their personalities made it easy to relate to them. I also loved that the author used the main characters from the first book, giving the reader a glimpse into their lives again. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
So, it follows the previous books in the same norm: girl is endanger, finds her mates, instant love and connection, need to save her from bad guys, HEA. I loved seeing Melanie and her mates and what they’ve been up to. The men in this one were so sweet and protective. I especially loved how intense Calder was for years before finding his mate, but once Peata came along he was a cuddly teddy bear. I love men like that! My only problems are I wish there was some more closure to Peata’s childhood assault. Maybe if she found the men and there was some type of justice it would have closed up that part of her life for good. It kind of just felt like it was left hanging, like there was no need for it. Also, what exactly happened to Browynn? I wish there was clear insight into her punishment, because I could only guess. On to Bethany, I hope Jason doesn’t piss me off too much!
Wow, three very handsome firemen rescue a damsel in distress who turns out to be their mate. The Wilder brothers need to find their mate. It's been long enough and they don't want to live without her another minute. Peata is on the run after witnessing a murder. Can the Wilder brothers keep her alive long enough to convince her she is their mate? Will Peata finally be able to put the past behind her?

I was kindly gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and a review.
After reading book one Melanie i seriously thought that book two could not get any better....i was o so wrong which you so need to find out.
Ashley brings a new meaning to sizzling hot in her latest book Peata.
Peata O'Donnell is a hard worker, she works so hard to protect the younger people she works with, but she cant escape the torture of her brutal past. After she accidentally witnesses a murder, she realise she has been recognised.
Know she is forced to flee with nothing at all bar the very clothes on her back. Peata is so distressed she is forced to shelter from the cold in an old abandoned barn for the night, but she has an accident an sets fire to the barn she is sheltering in.
She is luckily rescued by firemen, and is forced to face everything head on. Shifter fire fighters Max, Calder, and Axel Wilder were on the very edge of leaving their home and jobs to begin a long search for the mate they have all yearned for.
Then they discover her in the last place they would ever think of in the very blaze she accidentally started. However, there is an unexpected complication with their mate being a human, but that is not all they will have to face together in there mating.
They must find a way to free her from this threat from her pursuers, as well as her pain from her past, before they all can find the happiness they all truly deserve.
Ok so in book one i was way jealous of Melanie now i find im in the same predicament again with Peata. the way Ashley writes is a dream you can easily follow all the characters you get all there points of view as well as falling in love with all these sexy handsome shifters who will do anything for there mate. In this book i found that Calder held a special place in my heart he starts of so down and stubborn and blossoms through out the story. And Peata aww bless her she over comes so much she is a true fighter.
I simply love Ashley Malkin she cannot do no wrong and her books wow they keep getting better and better.
Great second book in the series !! Peata, (love the name), finds herself on the run after witnessing and recording a murder. Where will she go? what should she do? The cop pulled the trigger, can't go to them! She finds herself in a jam when the warming fire she started sets the barn on fire. Hunky Firemen and Mountain Lion shifters, Calder, Axel, and Max save her, and realize she's their mate, their "one" and only, their beloved. She feels attracted to them all, but doesn't know why. She blurts out the truth, her story, and her emotions, because the "pull" of her mates demands it. They are honest as well, and after she is safe at their home, they have Melanie and her men with the healer come over to help explain things to her. In the last tale, Melanie ran away and was in danger when she panicked after her men told her about shifters. The men are learning to cover their bases and not lose their mates. Her pursuers are on the way and the whole town is watching for them. Ashley Malkin creates a well written story, has deep thought-filled characters, and hot sexy ménage, so you can't go wrong with her stories. I like the strong, alpha, protective, loving men, and Peata is a smart and forceful women who fights for what she wants. Her back story of being drugged and abused at a frat party was well done, and she found compassion and understanding, with a discovery that made her heart heal. ( I can't give away everything !! ) Highly recommended, and look forward to the next Eminence Shifter story. E N J O Y !!!
I really liked Melanie for she was so insecure about herself and I liked seeing her character grow with the help of her men. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Second book in the series and it really was a great book. Great characters and the people from the first book are included too. Loved it. Can't wait for the next book.
