Sociopath: Legacy

Reach for the scars...

Remember me? Aeron Lore: happy and humble. A people person. All around nice guy.

Even I can't say that with a straight face.

But seriously, things are going great. Leo's behaving herself; I'm enjoying making sure she behaves. We're a great team. SilentWitn3ss, our live-streaming news project, has launched to my favorite things ever: controversy and profit.

So when the FBI comes to me and wants to use SilentWitn3ss footage to trace a serial killer named Blood Honey, I'm only too happy to be superior—I mean, to help. And if Leo thinks the brutal Blood Honey and I have a few things in common, I guess that's to be expected, given my rather unique preferences in the bedroom. My...condition.

But I'm not like him. I can't stand that she would even think it.

If his actions threaten my relationship with Leo, I'll hunt that fucker down myself.

If he gets too close for comfort, I will make him bleed—and trust me, he's closer than I ever anticipated.

There's a food chain, grasshoppers. The buck doesn't stop with him. It stops with me. Blood Honey is a nasty son of a bitch, but I can be a lot worse. Question is...do I want to be?

Note: LEGACY is a sequel and is not meant to be read as a standalone.

WARNING: This book contains abuse triggers and some scenes that readers may find disturbing.

Steamy, exciting and suspenseful!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙🤎🖤❤️💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌏🌍
Character development: 😠☺️😋😎🥰

The Hero: Aeron - he is a sociopath and definitely knows it. He fakes his way through life, pretending to care about things he doesn’t, he is able to hide and to fit in with the rest of humanity and has learned to do it well. He is a media mogul and owner of a global news empires. Aerone has some deviant sexual desires and has found the woman that is perfect for him.

The heroine: Leo - she is also not what she seems to be and dropped some huge bombs about herself near the end of the previous book. She is more devious than we originally thought and she is very intelligent. She almost got the best of Aeron but now they are together, and they know everything about each other.

The Story: the first book was about the crazy twisted love affair between these two characters, the second is as well to some extent, but it is also about a serial killer that is killing women in New York. He does it in a way that is eerily similar to what Aeron likes to do to Leo in bed and what he once did to Rachel Forham when they were in high school.

At first Aeron is excited about the serial killer (well he is a sociopath) and serial killers make great news headlines. But soon the killings lead to Leo having trouble dealing with the deviant things Leo likes to do to her (blood play). After they discover the killer is actually trying to frame Aeron for the killings, things really start to heat up.

“Can we just clear this up once and for all? I’m not a serial killer, in case you haven’t noticed. Any time this guy is supposed to be out slicing and dicing, I’m not just with you, I’m usually inside you—”

The first book, Sociopath was told from Aeron’s point of view except for one chapter. This book is told from both Aeron and Leo’s points of view and it also delves further into both of their pasts, what made them who they are and what brought them together. Like the first book, this was a re-read for me, I read it first about 5 years ago, and since I read an average of over 400 books a year, I didn’t really remember much about the story, other than the fact that I really liked it. This time, it kept me on my toes and guessing about what would happen next as well as who the killer really was.

Twisted Humor. Dark story. Sexy Sociopath you already know and love. What's not to love? Aaron Lore is back with all his craziness and OH EMM GEE this ride was great! This second book has all the answers we were looking for and believe me the twists here are HUGE. What I FLOVED a lot was Ash. Yes, we have more Ash and Ethan here. It was great to get to know them better.

I know, you are asking yourself If she liked it so much, why four stars? I will be honest I have mixed feelings with the ending. Let's make one thing clear : The Ending was perfect. You have to see it through Aeron's eyes, but I wanted it the other way around. I can't say much because of "Spoilers" you know, but I still have a little tiny hope.

Go grab a copy.

LEGACY will pick up pretty much where SOCIOPATH left off.

It will explore more of Leo's past, and will be stuffed full of answers about Aeron. As well as a couple curve balls ;) (because you can't go wrong with balls).

JUST GOT MY ARC!! CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED - WOO HOO!!

Holy Crap!! I absolutely LOVED this book, love the series, love Aeron & Leo, just love every-friggin-thing about this clever author and her amazing brain child that is the Sociopath World!!

Mindfuck(noun): An unexpected violation of the senses

You know those books that even after you’re finished you just can’t shake ‘em? Well this was one of those for me!!! This book (both books actually) were some of the best writing I have read in a while! Seriously, absolutely delicious storytelling! I can’t put my finger on exactly what I loved the most, the fact that we have an anti-hero AND really and anti-heroine or the fact that this is just such a great mindfuck I almost feel ashamed for loving it so much…almost, but not really!!

Legacy picks up right where Sociopath leaves off. Now if you haven’t read the first one don’t even think about grabbing this one yet. Go get them both and then sit down for the coolest ride!

Both Aeron & Leo are the greatest characters because they are both so fucked up, and I don’t just mean a little. I mean like we need a dump truck to carry around all of our issues type of F’ed up! I mean, like seriously…Sociopath right? But they have this weird and sometimes a little disturbing love for each other that just works, even though it probably shouldn’t.

I don’t want to give away anything from the first book if you haven’t read it so I will refrain from the Aeron/Leo storyline, but I will just say this…..OMFG – Blood Honey!! Now I know you have no idea what I’m talking about so I will simply say GRAB THESE BOOKS!! If you love the mindfuck of a love story then you will not be disappointed! You will be elated, I promise!!

Now I don’t know what this says about me but I will leave you with the fact that I fell a little in love with Aeron every time he did something, or thought something(since we are in his head a lot), that would have me actually saying, Holy Crap-that is soooo wrong!!! Haha

I want to share one of my favorite pieces grasshoppers…Enjoy!!

Do I want to keep him? Ah, can you ever keep anything? Don’t we all have to open our fists eventually, to stretch tired fingers, to allow our palms a taste of new things…? Nothing is simple here; there’s no clichéd dual between heart and mind. My mind has never told me to run from this man – on the contrary, I’ve followed him for my own vengeful gains, and as for my heart…it doesn’t speak. It just bleeds.~Leo

Forgiveness (noun): popular form of denial for those who lack the stamina true hatred requires ..

Omg Aeron Lore you twisted son of a bitch ! What a sight for the sore eyes ...

Ugh I really don't know how to review this book without giving away anything and trust me , there is a lot to give away here ! So I'll just stick to the norm and talk about how I felt about this book and try to be super vague because trust me you HAVE TO .. You NEED TO .. You MUST read book 1 before reading this one .

What I loved about Legacy was where Sociopath was all about Aeron , Legacy gave us something to look into from Leo's point of view as well . If you thought she was a little wacked in the head for sexing it up with Aeron , who has a serious fetish that involves blades and whatnots ( read : sharp and semi sharp kinda blunt objects too ) then think again my darlings ... The girl IS wacked in the head because what she feels for Aeron is by no means normal .... As a reader you can't help but think that what Aeron and Leo share as a couple is soooo dark , it borderlines disturbing .. And I'm not talking about what they do , its what is in their head . Talk about WTF !

“Leo.” His voice is strained, his cheeks flushed. He scoops my buttocks up, holds me so he can fuck down deeper until my hips are sore with the friction. “Leo, I couldn’t end you. I don’t want you dead.”
“Dirty talker,” I gasp, wincing.
“I mean it.” He bends, finds my mouth, and presses hot kisses at passion-skewed angles. “I’ll give you a thousand little deaths, but not an end. I could never…I could never want a girl who didn’t bleed.”

Again , I found the ending to be a bit hasty .... I wanted more of Leo .. I wanted to see her handling the aftermath of the mess she endured .. Kinda sadist really , but I wanted to see if that event had changed her for good or for bad .

On the whole though , Lime Craven is one twisted woman . I just can't get enough of her scrumptious kind of twisted !!!!

In the first book, Sociopath, Aeron was the one at the top of the food chain, so to speak, successfully manipulating people and public opinion at will. In Legacy, however, someone else is manipulating events and Aeron. But who? And to what end?

Sociopath was mostly told from Aeron's POV which clearly shows that Aeron is not a good man, but he's charismatic and darkly humorous, inviting you to laugh along with him at those he so easily controls. Like Leo, you can't help but love him, praying he will not go beyond what you can rationalize and forgive, but fearful that he'll do so.

In Legacy, the questions as to the serial killer's identity and the game he or she is playing with Aeron add a different kind of suspense. Legacy's tone is also darker, with less of Aeron's macabre wit to lighten the violence. The stakes in Legacy are higher, events more disturbing, and with the potential for betrayal coming from so many directions, it's hard to know who to trust. This ratchets up the emotional energy, pushing Aeron, Leo, and the reader, into new and more uncomfortable territory.

Both Sociopath and Legacy are dark erotic psychological romance. So does Aeron love Leo, or is he manipulating her for his own needs? As Aeron said, "Watch, grasshoppers, and learn."

Wow! I'm not even sure what to say but what a follow-up to Sociopath!! Another dark read for sure but well worth it. Some lingering questions from book one definitely get answered. Some associates true colors come to light and a serial killer is on the loose and what will happen to Aeron & Leo in light of it all. It's worth reading to find out. I will warn anyone that the last few chapters are not for the faint of heart or victims of a sexual trauma.
I gave this book five stars as well. How could I not, Ms. Craven's mind is a force to be reckoned with!

2.5 Stars

The first half of this book was a solid 4 stars. I did not want to put it down. The second half was 2 stars.
The writing was not bad. I am not a fan of flashbacks or dual POVs, but the author did a good job in regards to that.

I love dark and twisted. Aeron was the hero that I love to hate. The more dark, the better and I love when there are twists, but this did not work for me. It may work for you. I am not telling you not to read it.

Major spoilers below. I detail the ending. If you do not want to know what happens in the story, don't read the spoiler.

Like I said this may work for you.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 Savage Stars!

"At the end of the day, you’re just a savage in a suit."

Lime Craven is one of kind in a sense. Her books are dark with twisted humor, it makes the reading that much more enjoyable. I've been on a list of sociopaths for days now, I haven't had any light. I needed this, I still got my dark, but I got some light in there too. Don't mistake my meaning, this is still a book for the twisted, so don't read unless you like sick with a side of funny. If you know what I mean.

Sociopath was just the seed to a full blown plant, the vines were growing. This book bloomed. I have to be honest and say I loved this one more than the first. We still got the pompous Aeron, the doubtful Leo, but they were more relatable this time, maybe because we know them now. I don't know the real reason, but they hold a dark spot in my heart, before they didn't. I wouldn't mind another book, I never say that either. When a story is over, I liked to stay that way, not the case here. I actually want more, crazy, right? I might have just fell for Aeron. I feel like I'm a crazy scientist and I need to know all of his depraved thoughts, his motives. It's fascinating.

"This is Aeron Lore in all three dimensions , his smell, his taste, the bulk of him bearing down on me. I didn’t want to want this. I didn’t plan to fall, but the mountain… the mountain was so high, and I was walking in the dark, and in the end, aren’t we all made to falter?"

These books seem to have an love/hate affect on readers. The characters missing that "real" factor that we all relate to. But, hey if you like the twisted side, I definitely recommend. Lime Craven is one to look out for, she's powerful with her twisted words.

I was lucky enough to score an ARC and let me tell you, grasshoppers, you should buy this book because it's just that good. It's better than that cigarette after sex. We get Aeron Lore goodness, Leontine Reeves goodness, twists and turns that'll make your head spin... in a good way.

We learn more about Aeron's past, Leontine's past... even Ash's past. I didn't think Lime Craven could outdo Sociopath, but she did. Did she ever! We get a little of everything in this fine offering by Lime Craven. Romance, Thrills, Chills, Suspense... In the end, all I can say is that I personally loved the hell out of each and every page and I cried when I hit the last page because yeah, the last scene was that good but also because I didn't want it to end.

Five star read, I'd give it double fives if I could. I went through the gamut of emotions here, crying, laughing, hugging my kindle...

And... I adore Aeron Lore. That is all.

I received a copy of Sociopath: Legacy for a blog tour and honest review

Legacy is book 2. Please read Lime Craven's Sociopath first (I guarantee you'll love this crazy, dark, totally effed up book)and don't read this review since there are references to Sociopath and I definitely DON'T wanna give anything away!

Legacy starts off after Sociopath ends, Aeron's healed basically and Leo is still around. Still wondering just WHY she actually stays around...it must be Lime Cravens way with words...

**They say you can do anything if you have enough money, bit it's not supposed to be true. It's just there to give us a little ambition, right? Assuming we want to become the next generation of doctors and teachers and Nobel Peace Prize winners. Not matricidal monsters. That's what they tell us. The world's your frickin' oyster. Turns out it's not always oyster season, and before you can blink, the shell snaps shut and it's just you and a pearl in the ebbing throes of decay, seeping putrid, losing lustre, until you forget that it was ever beautiful at all.**

I had a hard time getting into Legacy and I was so damned excited to get it because I freaking LOVED Sociopath...but eventually I DID get into it and by half way through I just couldn't put it down. By the time I was 2/3 in...I was reading voraciously, so excited to be reading Leo and Aeron's story..and Oh My Freaking God...it was fabulous. The last third was TO DIE FOR..literally. Amazing. so many questions left over from Sociopath were answered. I was just in awe...really.
The writing style is the same, the sardonic wit, and oh yes, sports fans, did I mention that
Lime Craven has such a way with words...understand this well, grasshopers...
because what the Lore's do is **We cut. We slash. We put the scar in scarlet"
just amazing really..

What to Think?????

***Spoilers ahead***
Let me say I loved 'Sociopath' the first book in this series, but this second book leaves me with a big dose of 'what did I just read'? Aeron is still Aeron and Leo is still Leo. Their story is kind of crazy different, and there lies the lure for me. After she shot him in the first book and they are still together, I thought there will be hope for them. Then it happened Aeron's real dad was not dead, and he is a serial killer who mutilates women's private parts before killing them. What shot this book down for me was that there was rape, (sometimes it happens, sadly), but Leo was apparently not given treatment for that, otherwise, how can she get pregnant? Isn't there an after rape pills to prevent this? I didn't even read that she received counselling for it. The author kind of just rushed through the ending and voila, Leo has given birth to Aeron's father baby. How can that family get better with all the mess their lives has been and is now?

Also it was not clear how and who killed Aeron's mom. Maybe I missed it. I don't know. After reading this second book, I wanted to rinse my brains out. ***Gah*** Sordid. It was too much for me. Twisted for real.

I wasn't overly impressed with book 1 in this series. It fell a bit flat for me, I wanted more, questions needed answering, I needed darker.Well, what do you know...Lime gave me what I asked for!!
The majority of this book is in the same vein as book 1. There's a lot of love/hate between Leo and Aeron, a lot of drama, the Blood Honey saga continues but now we see Leo. Actually see her from her own viewpoint and we get to find out a bit more about what makes her tick. This book is a lot heavier on the Leo content and I really enjoyed that fact.
I was always a little concerned about the sociopath label. Maybe that's what Aeron is but by the end of this book he just comes across as a troubled man who has never found love before Leo. Seeing him soften is a beautiful sight!!
The last 20% of this book is full of dark drama. I've read other reviews and have seen that for a few of those people, it really breaks this book. For me, it makes it! Up until this point I was just going for another 3 star review but then the punch was packed and wham...I was drawn right in!
When I finished Sociopath I was a little concerned about where Legacy would go but now I'm finished with it I am pleased I gave it a chance!

Welcome back to the mad world that is Aeron and Leo!!! I went straight to book 2 after finishing the first. There were just too many things left open for me to ignore! I really liked getting more on Leo this book, you finally get to understand her character. I am all about the madness so I loved this!

At the end of the day, you’re just a savage in a suit.

And Aeron was just that. Even after he "fell in love", he didn't change. He was still the not-feeling, success-chasing ruthless fucker and I love him for that.

I have plenty of money, but not nearly enough of a soul.

Leo and Aeron's relationship was hanging on a very precarious edge after everything that happened in book one....and their chemistry became explosive (even more so than the initial sexual tension they had) in this book. The way Aeron still played and manipulated people, Leo too, was so much fun!.. in a twisted sort of way ofc but hey, twisted is best right?!😏😈

“You’re not going to forgive me—I get it, I do. But you have to stop thinking that you need to. There’s a fine fucking line between love and hate, Leo. I like the line. We’ll be the line. Okay?”

And the steam was 🔥🔥🔥 The blood play ( it's always blood play with Aeron 😏🙃🍷) was simultaneously hot and mind fucking treachery. I felt bad for Leo .. ..but she also, kind of dug her own grave here, so not that bad either 🤷😆

The plot was GOOD. Much better than the first book, I have to admit. The first book was entirely based upon its characters and their unraveling but this one had a mystery, some gruesome deaths and our resident sociopath throwing in his wit and knowledge into the fray. It was simple and very enjoyable. ♥️🖤

“I’ve worked very hard to understand women; they don’t want to come quite as much as they want to come apart.”

Also, loved the part Ash played in throwing extra emotions and that adorable plus deadly scene at the end. Aeron's legacy ...the thought makes me shudder (idk if in terror or pleasure yet 😋💀).

We cut. We slash. We put the scar in scarlet.

Overall, Aeron's story was good and I enjoyed it. ✨

I am a little disappointed to be honest. I expected more of Aeron's sociopath thoughts and responses, as he manipulated the Blood Honey murders, so I am disappointed that especially the first half of this novel, felt very Leo centric and while I should be happy to finally get Leontine's POV, it was so ... boring.

I missed Tuija but the representation that we got in this novel was just down right stupid. This is NOT a paranormal and I would have loved to prefer to spend more time with Blood Honey, figuring out his end game and the past that connects him to Aeron.

I felt like we spent time getting updates on life after Leo shot him, then we moved into the mysterious serial killer and then on to the Maldives, then all sorts of crazy betrayal and espionage then ... the end. Always with the abrupt endings that leave me feeling like there should be more.

Now, don't get me wrong Sports Fans, Aeron is still present in all his manipulative ways and the most unlikely pair of heroes will save them all but something was missing that couldn't be overlooked in way of it being an introduction novel. It was a follow up that needed more meat on its bones and rest assured, it had many meat to go around. It just wasn't cooked properly.

The most interesting part for me was the last 5% and I actually thought about quitting when I got to the 90% mark. Good thing I held out!

I sincerely hope there will be more of Aeron, Asher and Harper in the future. Even crazy Ethan and his dragon theories but this one left much to be desired and you would have to be a fan of the series to stick through all the monotony and crazy in between. Though, Leo's flashbacks with her neighbour were equal parts creepy and hilarious.

In spite of the fact that I had mixed emotions about the first book, I was still curious enough to see what happens in the second book. And I am so glad I did! I liked this one way more than the first one. Aeron and Leo's kind of crazy finally started to make a bit of sense. In fact, she may be even a bit more crazy than he is. But it works for them. There are some major shockers in this book as well as a more or less HEA. Maybe. Depends on how you look at it. But they seem ok with it, so who am I to judge. You know, I could see myself reading a book three.............

*Gifted for an honest review* 5 Awesome Stars

“I know. I know. I’m letting myself go here. But humor me. I bled out all my f**ks”

I have been so lucky this week to have been given the opportunity to read some truly amazing books and this one is no exception. It comes pretty far up the top of my list of this year’s best reads if I am being honest. I fell in love with Lime’s style of writing in her first novel Sociopath. She writes with a twisted pen and a very dark sense of humour. It’s so very hard not to fall in love with the way she carves those words into her stories despite the macabre and very disturbing subjects that she writes about. I have rarely seen this quality of writing in this genre, the humorous wit which can often feel misplaced in other reads sits right at home here. I have so many notes and quotes riddled throughout my e-book all pertaining to the writing. The story is a bonus and such a pleasure to read! I loved this and will recommend Sociopath and legacy all day long to anybody that wants to listen.

“Well here I am sweetheart, off my f**king face, and where are you?”

I’m a no spoiler kind of girl so I’m not going into the storyline here but let me just tell you that this will takes you to the depths of your soul. There are really difficult subjects in this novel that some readers may not be able to stomach. And to say it is descriptively graphic would be understating it. I love the detail; I can picture the gruesomeness in my head. But underneath all that there is this sense of need and in a somewhat twisted way, love. It is a dark romance after all. For some absurd reason the reader wants to figure Aeron and Leo out, which let me tell you is an impossibility. I liked that feeling of never quite knowing what one will do next. Whilst I really thought I knew Aeron as well as was allowed (and it was more than enough) I really struggled with Leo. She doesn’t give all that much away. He threw it all out there for the reader to see while Leo kept her cards close to her heart.

“I have nothing left to lose. I just hold onto him, a leaf sailing down to a hungry fire”

Some of the story is simply heart breaking. If you though characters were broken and jaded in other books well, they are not really a patch on this pair. Both are so screwed up it’s hard for either of them to see which is the right way up. Yet….yet, they find something in each other that soothes their demons and allows them to function and behave, for the most part, with normalcy.
“Until then…I’ll indulge him. Indulge sounds so much better than love”
It’s a complex story that does continue on from Sociopath and I would recommend reading that first. As with the first, this is full of little twists and turns and a great big “I never saw that one” which as a reader has just got to be the best thing ever. When you don’t see it coming from a mile away it kind of dumbfounds you for a second. This was a straight through read of about 3 to 4 hours for me, but I took my time and marvelled in it. It’s depraved in places, gorgeous in others and it’s a story that’s going to stay with me for a long time. Brilliant and I am sooo ready for more from Lime! Watch this author, I promise Lime is going to go from strength to strength with novels like this!

And my absolute favourite line – “Maybe it’s the thought of her getting all Orange is the New Black with a bunch of hairy hormone factories in cheap lipstick, I don’t know; it just doesn’t sit right in the pit of my mangled stomach.” What’s not to love??

I seriously needed a few hours after reading Legacy to collect my thoughts about this two book series. I thought I knew what I was getting into after Sociopath but I was so wrong. Lime Craven took what I had experienced in book and made this story explode into a million brilliant pieces and then placed the puzzle back together right before my eyes. The end result was purely astonishing and I realized my feelings toward those two characters have taken a complete shift from when I started. In some magical way she morphed those two from the deviant characters that added a high degree of kink and insanity in book one, into two people who have struggled their whole lives with lies, secrets, revenge and now love.

I didn’t even think those two knew what love was, but Lime slowly showed us the moment they realized the true definition. I am not talking about lustful love, this is regarding the form of love a parent has for their child, the love humans have for society. She exposed them to the kind of emotion that draws you out of your selfish shell and into the environment of caring about others, feeling remorse, regret, accepting you vulnerability and downfalls.
In Legacy, the author took Aeron and Leo from the world of needing to see blood during sex and into the world of his business, naming and chasing down the new serial killer named Blood Honey. This forces Leo to deal with her past, her relationship with the one friend who Aeron had a hand in destroying. Was she with him still out of revenge or had she developed an addiction to his need for power and blood. She carries the scars of those times, but are they scars of pride and affection or the means to ending Aeron Lore. What Blood Honey leaves behind is gruesome and evil, but they are also similar to what she knows Aeron is capable of. Is she sleeping with a serial killer and if not, then does Aeron have ties to Blood Honey.

Aeron is determined to get the story of the killings out first. With his connection to the police, his internet media company will be the first one reporting and he has no problem showing the pictures of the victims if that will get him the ratings. When he begins to notice Leo has pulled back and showing doubt regarding him, he needs to refocus his attention to proving what they do in the bedroom is nothing like what Blood Honey is doing to innocent victims. When the tables are turned and his name is being posted all over the media fronts as a connection to Blood Honey, he knows he must do something but what? It is too late to silence the community but is it too late to convince Leo she is safe with him?

Now this is where the explosion happens for me and I am only able to buckle up and watch the magic happen. How this all falls in place and the identities of players we didn’t even know were in the game is remarkable and I was left with my jaw on the floor wondering where this creative genius has been hiding all my life. I know some people couldn’t finish Sociopath, it was too dark for them, or they didn’t feel like it had a plot. Well let me reassure you that sometimes hanging in there and trusting the author has a plan pays off with HUGE rewards and this was one of those times. I still, after ten hours of finishing that book, wonder how I missed where this story was going. When did Lime Craven change the path of this journey and lead me in a whole new direction. This book was extremely difficult to rate. I started out jotting down glowing praise for the story that had five star potential and then two-thirds in it all went downhill. Full review at http://book-bosomed.blogspot.com/2015...

In this sequel we learn more about the past as well as get more insight into Aeron and Leo’s current relationship. Despite the “drama” between them in book one, we find Leo back at Aeron’s side. Their relationship is the epitome of love-hate in a romance if there ever was one. It truly captures a couple with love but distrust, distain but attraction. You’ll find plenty of “love-hate” banter among sparring couples in romance, but this is something totally different. It’s dark and potentially deadly, yet the narrative always keeps it light…in the first half or more. (Man I wish I didn’t have to make that distinction).

Aeron is a captivating narrator. He’s not someone you’d want to know in real life (that could be dangerous…or dicey) but he’s witty and intelligent as he, along with Leo this time, narrates their tale. Thought-provoking definitions start off each chapter once again. In the first book and most of this one, Lime Craven does a superb job taking readers into the world of a functioning sociopath. It’s not the crazy most people assume. Instead it’s a world of cunning, manipulative, and resourceful ways that invites danger. She is very talented with her writing style.

But then the book takes a turning point. It honestly felt like someone else took over writing. Aeron and Leo’s story has always had dark undertones, but both the first book and the first half of this one were always kept light by the witty narration. But the last third of this book takes a turn and not for the better. It becomes unabashedly dark and disturbing while at the same time the reveals and the unraveling of the plot become clichéd.

Meanwhile, characters that were growing and evolving, becoming such fully developed characters that it felt like the two books were coming together into a perfect picture, begin to slip and become weak, victimized, and lost. While the cutting obsession would have been a trigger warning for some readers since the first book, a few new ones need to go up for this one (detailed violence and rape)! The book finally lost me on the later. It’s far too over-used as a degrading plot device for women in fiction that suppresses them and presents them as the weaker, helpless sex. My feminist hackles were raised that Leo’s character crashed just when she was starting to take off.

I was devastated at how the story from the climax through the end played out and struggled to finish it. This section would be a definite one star rating. On top of the gruesome violation that was sickening, the resolution of the story becomes a sinking mess in some Maldivesisland waters. My head was swimming in questions of who some characters really were (existentially, not literally), backgrounds that needed more explanation, red herrings, and several plot points that felt dropped (including ones from the first book).

The final ending is unsettling. It was ewww & unbelievable.

Don't go into this book thinking it’s all about the H/h. Turns out to be a really dark suspense involving a serial killer and the past events happening between the two.

That being said, it was a real dark read that went where most books don't and you are not left with a good feeling when it's over. However, there is a kind of HEA so don't get too bummed out.

This book pushed the boundaries of right and wrong and made me question exactly what I would put up with for someone I loved, and what would make a person do and accept behaviors in others. This book went deep into what made the characters behave the way they did, and along the way there was a good secondary plot line that ended up taking first place in the end.

Beware if you are thinking this is going to be a sequel where the messed-up hero from the first book is reformed by h
is woman and ends up seeing the error of his ways.

Unlike other authors who do this annoying bait and switch getting us all into a guy that has a dark side or fetish and making the end game being about changing him into some kind or White Knight (ahem...I am talking to you Ms. James), Lime doesn't change the hero's nature. However, she makes the more difficult and truer choice of simply letting him grow along the lines earlier set.

The heroine's true motives and personal history which were unknown to us in the previous book--due to it being written in the oft-unused first person-male POV--are brought to light and add depth to the character, allowing us to understand her motives and true feelings.

However, the romance, however twisted it is, took a back seat to the secondary plot which about halfway through the book ends up becoming the central story. I will not elaborate on it, but you can probably guess at the whodunit aspect and if you have half a mind, you will figure it out.

Regardless if you figure out whodunit and what is going on, you will still not believe it would go as far as it did. Right up to the last page you will be waiting for some kind of "Ha-Ha! I was just kidding! It really didn't happen that way!" Don't hold your breath. It does happen that way and no one came away completely unscathed. Basically, the ending was the best of a bad situation.

Now I need to read some light and fluffy.... Where is my copy of "Mastered" by Lily White?

After reading "Sociopath," I was absolutely convinced there is no way Lime could get any more twisted. Oh my friends, how I was wrong!

First let me tell you, DO NOT read this book without reading Book 1 first. You will be completely lost, miss a significant portion of the story and its just a dumb idea. Second, be prepared to be glued to your ereader. Lastly, the mindf#$% Lime Craven takes you on is one I am not sure how to describe.

It would be very hard for me to provide you a synopsis of this book without giving away too much of the story. "Sociopath: Legacy" picks up at the end of "Sociopath." Aeron Lore and Leontine Reeves are as close as you can get to everything that is wrong in the world, I mean .... SOCIOPATH! Anyway, the cat and mouse game they play continues but at the same time there is something even more evil lurking in the shadows.

The last 1/3 of the book will have your mouth gaping and your heart racing. Your feelings will be completely conflicted about Aeron. He is quite irresistible but goodness is he bad! One tiny spoiler...Ash....my favorite part of this entire series. He makes the ending!

4.5 Stars

I personally have never forgiven Leo for shooting Aeron in book one. I know he forgave her, but it knocked her down a notch on my list and I had to work through my feelings towards her, especially when she doubts him about being the killer. You see, this story is about Blood Honey, a serial killer that everyone wants the story on. The FBI contact Aeron to get a copy of a footage that Leo's SilentWitn3ss took. It's clear to Leo that there are similarities between the killer and Aeron, but it's also clear it's not him and she has a hard time not believing he's either the killer or is involved. Aeron of course just wants the story and wants those he cares about safe. But then a story about Rachel is leaked and fingers start pointing his way. Deceptions take place. Identities are learned. Unforgettable things happen.

This story was again full of suspense, twists and mindf#@cks. I've missed Aeron and his deranged way of looking at life. He seemed a little more chill in this book and we were given chapters back in different times in his past which help explain some of his emotions. We also get past chapters about Leo. It works with the story as it progresses and we learn the identity of Blood Honey. Nasty piece of work that killer is. Ash and Ethan are in this story more and Ash and Leo do get to meet. Everything works together in typical mind blowing fashion and we get another enjoyable, dark read about these characters. The ending is perfect.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Sociopath was that book that I had no idea what to feel about it. I loved it, but I felt guilty for loving it. I raved about it and told everyone that loves twisted romances to read it. So, of course, when I found out that there was going to be a second book I was ecstatic!

Legacy starts where the first one ended. Things are looking god for Aeron and Leo. I mean, as good as a relationship between two effed up people can be. As you know from when you read book one, do it if you haven't!, these two have conquered a lot while developing as characters while still staying almost unchangeable. I always wanted to see where these two would end up in the future. How could someone that cannot really feel emotion be able to love Leo and have a family or even some kind of future with her? I don't want to get into the specifics, but let me just say that I was extremely satisfied about how their story ended. It was definitely more than I could wish for.

The story itself was interesting. There is a serial killer on the loose that appears to be connected to Aeron in some way. But is he really?! Well, you'll have to read it to see.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If you are a lover of all things twisted and dark, do not hesitate to pick up this book. And if you haven't read book 1, please do!

Next book in the Sociopath series!

My review of Book 1: http://bit.ly/1pw8MWA

Just as tastefully twisted as book 1!

Lime Craven did it again. Legacy was a perfect continuation to Sociopath. We're given so much more insight into Aeron Lore as well as Leontine's point of view. We get to see where Leo was coming from when she entered Aeron's life in the previous book. Though I will miss my Tuija, the character personalities and delivery of the story are just as memorable as book 1.

In this story, Aeron and Leo are moving on with life after the incident just months before. They're dealing with the media, handling the company and now there's a serial killer on the loose with similarities that hit too close to home. Everyone's on the edge as they try to identify this twisted person and Aeron is still Aeron is his approach to the world.

This one does dig a little more into the dark side but I still think it's a great recommendation for those weary of the dark reads. It's still more of a mind boink than a gut clencher.
