En 1973 cambió para siempre la historia de Chile. Leí una columna hace mucho tiempo que decía que a partir de ese año empezó un nuevo país. Ese Chile del recuerdo es el que se expone en las páginas prodigiosamente escritas por Axel Pickett. La cantidad de testimonios y la calidad humana de los integrantes del Colo-Colo entre 1972-73 realmente es una joya para quienes atesoramos la historia deportiva de Chile.

Un libro que tiene un interesante formato de entrevista-historia, que habla del club de fútbol más importante del siglo XX en Chile, Colo-Colo. La historia se centra en la generación que jugó la final de la Copa Libertadores de América el año 1973, en un momento político-social muy agitado en Chile.
La historia la narran los mismo jugadores, cada uno según su propia "visión del campo de juego", su llegada al club, su formación, sus alegrías, penas y peleas, formación académica y negocios, amor por los colores y orígenes humildes en diversos barrios de Santiago y otras ciudades y comunas del país y soslayadamente cuentan cómo los afectó la dictadura en su entorno familiar y también laboral.
Deporte, pasión, los colores, dirigencias nefastas y brujerías rondan este plantel que marcó un antes y un después en el balompié nacional, siendo el primero en conseguir varias cosas a nivel profesional, nacional e internacional.
Un gran libro del equipo que, en palabras de uno de sus protagonistas, es "patrimonio nacional". Colo-Colo es Chile.

A book that has an interesting interview-story format, which talks about the most important soccer club of the 20th century in Chile, Colo-Colo. The story focuses on the generation that played in the final of the Copa Libertadores de América in 1973, at a very turbulent political-social moment in Chile.
The story is told by the players themselves, each one according to their own "vision of the playing field", their arrival at the club, their training, their joys, sorrows and discussions, academic training and business, love for colors and humble origins in various neighborhoods of Santiago and other cities and communes in the country and covertly tell how the dictatorship affected them in their family and work environment.
Sport, passion, colors, nefarious leaderships and witchcraft surround this team that marked a before and after in national football, being the first to achieve several things at a professional, national and international level.
