From Bex Deveau and L.E. Eldridge comes a masked omegaverse where the games go from online to IRL—masked men and all. Welcome to the Streamerverse. See you in chat.
An omega destined to be packless…
Heartbreak after heartbreak has left me realizing I’m not cut out for a pack. As much as I’ve wished for one, it’s obviously not in the cards. It’s time to leave behind wishes in favor of dreams, and I have a big one—Opening my very own game studio.
But even as one of the highest-ranked Kxll Flxxr streamers, and my recent success on SLCK’d, a camming service explicitly for omegas, it was nearly impossible to scrounge together more than pennies between student loans and increasing rent.
What do you do when you receive an offer you can’t refuse?
When the pack I hooked up with at the Omega’s Lust Halloween Trick or Treat Packtacular offered me more than enough seed money to design the game of my dreams, no strings attached, it seemed too good to be true.
The catch?
They want me to have their pack’s baby.
It seems like an unbelievable offer, but what’s nine months in exchange for my dream? Just one little signature, and it could all be mine.
But when the lines between play and pack get blurred, and I let myself get attached, how far am I willing to go to keep a pack that’s already found their omega?
Just sign your name on the dotted line.
OVer My Dead Body is a HIGH heat, MNBIMMF contemporary omegaverse packed with masked alphas, accidental mating bites, and a contract that will change their lives. This book is a standalone, with no cheesy cheating, no choosing, and an HEA! Can’t wait? Players can start their journey a little early in Dead 2 Me, the prequel novella that’s just waiting for you to squad up!
I'm a cat-mom of two, wife and spicy romance enthusiast living in Edmonton, AB. You can usually find me curled up on the sofa surrounded by a hundred pillows and reading on my kindle (or, y'know, writing.) Becoming my bestie is easy! You just need an undying love of all things sweet and be cool with watching the same five movies on repeat.
-m(nbi)mmf omegaverse -one pack, two omegas -masked alphas -mutual crushing -free use
i loved how much ground we covered in this whole standalone! we got to connect with each of the characters & really get into the development between all the different relationships. & i get someone, especially an omega, being sensitive & crying/bursting into tears but istg…the way eva would just out of nowhere do that but then IMMEDIATELY also have it to the point “snot running down her face” was just soooo not it 😭😭😭
Omegaverse MNBiMMF Masked men Surprise bonding One pack, two omegas Lots of fun BDSM dynamics (including bondage, knife play, degradation, dirty talk, exhibitionism etc)
This was such a REAL omegaverse set against a backdrop of video games and streaming and full of messy, complex characters who are ALL chock full of issues. I loved it.
Two omegas: Eva, the cam girl who wants to open her own gaming development studio. Joon, the bratty artist who wants a pack but is terrified to bond.
Three alphas: Marcus, the restauranteer germophobe who wants his pack settled. Cameo, the businessman mogul who collects bugs and is likely neurodivergent and undiagnosed and absolutely cannot handle emotional mess. Indigo, the nonbinary gamer who might be my most favorite character of all.
These alphas want a baby and they negotiate a contract with Eva to have her carry one for them. But no one has any intention of letting Eva go. Can they overcome their MANY issues to find happiness and keep Eva safe?
I love when I’m reading a book and I feel like the authors just had a blast writing it. You get that in spades here. This is not a cute and cozy omegaverse full of pampering and soft light. This is gritty and messy and these alphas have to learn how to be the alphas that their omegas need. The spice was so spicy and hit me with all the degradation and humiliation dirty talk. Bring it on!
It’s moderately paced and there’s a minor suspense storyline that hops into the forefront at the end (although you can totally see it coming and WHT don’t the characters see it too?!?). This is part of a shared world and while it’s not necessary to read the earlier works, I’d definitely recommend picking up the immediate prequel novella Dead 2 Me since it’s all about these characters and their first messy and glorious time together.
Thanks so much to the authors and the Smuthood for the review copy!
The good: this was a fun ride. I was sucked in immediately - drawn to the characters and their dynamics. I didn’t realize there was a novella so I got about 10-15% in before reading Dead 2 Me. I devoured the first third of OVer My Dead Body but then it started to become super predictable and not as gratifying as I had hoped.
The bad: not sure if it was just my version of the eARC but there were several spelling mistakes as well as timeline/character discrepancies… enough that I noticed it when I historically gloss over those sort of things.
Thank you to The Smuthood INC. for the ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
A deadly game where trust is the most dangerous illusion
Some stories pull you in quietly. Others grip you by the throat and refuse to let go. ‘Over My Dead Body’ falls somewhere in between, dancing on the edge of tension and intrigue while never fully surrendering to the darkness it hints at.
From the very first pages, there is an undercurrent of unease. The kind that lingers just beneath the surface, whispering that something is not right. The premise promises danger, deception, and emotional intensity, and while those elements are present, they unfold in a more restrained way than expected. The pacing moves steadily, sometimes hesitating where it could have sharpened its claws, which softens the impact of the twists.
The characters are layered, though at times they feel just out of reach, like shadows you cannot fully grasp. Their motivations flicker between clarity and ambiguity, which adds to the mystery but occasionally distances the emotional connection. There are moments where the psychological depth truly shines, offering glimpses into fear, control, and vulnerability, yet those moments feel like they could have been pushed further into something unforgettable.
What stands out most is the atmosphere. There is a constant tension woven through the narrative, a sense that every choice carries weight, even if the consequences do not always hit as hard as they could. The story builds, retreats, and builds again, creating a rhythm that keeps the pages turning, even when the intensity dips.
‘Over My Dead Body’ is a story that flirts with darkness rather than fully embracing it, leaving behind a lingering question of what it could have been if it had dared to go deeper.

Over My Dead Body (The Streamverse #2) by Bex Deveau, L.E. Eldridge
This was definitely not what I was expecting. This was my first book by Bex Deveau and L.E. Eldridge, and the cover and tropes are what drew me in. I was expecting more spice than plot, but instead I got a really balanced and surprisingly sweet story with plenty of spice, and I’m not mad about it at all. It was longer than I expected too, but the story and the drama were intriguing enough that they kept me turning the pages. I didn’t fully click with all of the characters, and I do think this would have been an even better experience if I had read the first book in the series, which is a novella. It’s not necessary for the plot, but I feel like it would have complemented it really well.
Tropes: * Stalking + simul-stalking * BDSM / Shibari * Knife play * Surprise bonding * Omegaverse * Breeding contract * Free use * Two omegas * Masks / masked men * Insta lust * One pack, two omegas
There’s a lot going on with three alphas and two omegas, and this story really dives into the pack dynamics. It also has a suspense/mystery twist that I wasn’t expecting, but definitely appreciated. The spice was on point and I enjoyed it very much.
⭐️ 3.5 stars 🌶️ 4.5 spice
Thank you Bex Deveau and L.E. Eldridgefor the opportunity to read this early, all opinions are my own.
I don’t really know why I read this for as long as I did.
I don’t want to be mean but wtf was this? There’s no consistency and really no plot. Every character is annoying and devoid of any personality. I really couldn’t deal with the names they call each other.
Let me preface this review with I love omegaverse. I’m a total mood reader and this is my go-to genre when I don’t know what I want to read. Over My Dead Body is one of those books that you fly through pretty quickly. When you finish and think about it, it’s more “okay, that was good” than a “I’m completely wrecked” kind of read. The story has a preface that there is a short novella prequel and I’m so glad that I read that because it was a great introduction to the characters. This book had an interesting storyline and leans a little darker, but the plot doesn’t always feel as deep or fully developed as it could have been. There are moments where it pulls you in but it never quite hits that next level of emotional impact. It’s engaging enough to keep you reading, just not one that fully consumes you. The characters are solid, but not overly memorable. There were times I wanted a little more depth or connection. The pacing overall is quick, which makes it an easy read, but it also contributes to the story feeling a bit surface-level. Some emotional beats and plot points could have used more time to fully land. If you’re looking for something deeply emotional or plot-heavy, this might fall a little short. Perfect for when you want something quick, steamy, and easy to get through.
The good: the book is very spicy so if you are looking for a spicy read with a semblance of a plot, then this is definitely the book for you. Idk if this classifies as good, but the best(and could be the worst for some people) part of the plot for this book is the toxicity. All of them were toxic, not in a detrimental way. But more-so like sit down and talk for more than 5 minutes kind of way lol.
The bad: The communication errors is probably 50% of the book tbh. I feel like it’s an okay book. Nothing really noteworthy happening. Even the big reveal for the villain was obvious, which is fine. Idk how I feel about how Eva came into the scene with Joon already still there & yes I read the prequel. I still think it toes the line but thats just my personal opinion. Also I do think there was too much inner monologue, I ended up skipping pages towards the end and don’t feel like I missed anything.
3.5/5 This book had a slow start for me with all of the gamer stuff. I was never a huge gamer, so it didn't hold my attention the way it might for someone interested in that hobby. Also, while this book can be read as an interconnected standalone, I definitely recommend reading the other books in the series as there were references to events and characters from past storylines. While his emotions were understandable, Joon's character became tiring at times. The overall pack dynamics were interesting and enjoyed most of them. Cameo left a meh taste in my mouth. Due to his OCD he would make comments about Eva in his head that just didn't pass the vibe check. The story wraps up quickly. Up to around 85%, I had no idea how this was going to be a standalone. I enjoyed the writing style and always love a good omegaverse. The gaming element just wasn't for me.
This was absolutely chaotic and I had a great time with it.
The premise alone pulled me in, but honestly? The cover is what got me first. It immediately caught my attention and made me want to pick it up, and I’m glad I did.
Once I started, it leaned fully into the chaos and just kept going. If you’re into omegaverse with a lot happening and big 👀 energy, this delivers.
Overall, a really fun read and I’m definitely glad I gave it a shot.
I loved everything the book game me where growing together was seen as a focus which is so important and i liked how the authors wrote the book this round mean while i loved everything else i read too was so perfect. Cam, Eve,& Joon, Marcus they are so sweet but trusting after a while towards one another overcoming many obstacles together while wanting to build and add to their lives.
The Lombardi pack are a bunch of quirky ones. Eva really fits in as the most normal one to me, even though she does have her dramatic part, like when she found Cameos office. 😆 I really enjoyed the drama, and the love everyone has
5 Stars 🌟 Thank you to The Smuthood for this ARC! 🩷
Let me tell yall... this one had me hooked from the start! I've been trying to read more omegaverse books lately because they're just so fun, and this one was no exception! It was diverse, spicy, and action-packed in a way that I didn't expect. The different povs from the entire pack was the chefs kiss on top of it all. There were so many different dynamics, and it was just amazing overall.
I will say that I didn't read the prequel novella because I was pressed for time, and I definitely felt a little put of the loop for a moment. However, once everything clicked, it was 100% fine! I definitely want to go back and read the rest of the series at some point because I absolutely love this book in every way, shape, and form.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Eva is a sweet and driven omega who streams horror games for a living. She is best friends with Tara whose pack’s story is from the previous book, Game Over. Eva’s first interaction with the entire pack is in the novella Dead 2 Me. Life hasn’t been easy for Eva but she has a dream of opening her own video game studio to produce cozy horror games.
Joon is an omega with a difficult past that colors his relationships, sense of self and trust in others. He builds a relationship with Indigo who then brings him into their pack. Joon is an artist and enjoys comic books.
Indigo (Indy) is also a streamer and part of Eva’s friend group. They have such deep empathy for others and unending patience with their pack. They quickly become Joon’s alpha due to those qualities. Indy has the cutest pet snake named Potato.
Marcus is a Michelin starred chef and restaurant owner who thrives on routine and organization. He loves old horror films to the point of owning a CRT TV and VHS player. He has some trauma from a prior omega relationship (along with the rest of pack Lombardi) that tempers his connection with the omegas.
Cameo is business partners with Tara’s alpha Charlie and a tech wizard. He goes after what he wants with absolute confidence and determination, sometimes at the expense of others feelings and emotions. Dirt, germs and mess make him anxious and he unwinds with an interesting hobby.
The relationships and dynamics in this book are deep, interesting and challenging. Pack Lombardi wants an omega and children to complete their pack. Indy built a solid relationship with Joon however, Joon is reluctant to form permanent bonds and some pack members are more patient with that than others. Joon moves in with the pack but it’s far from smooth sailing. After meeting Eva and spending time with her through her heat the pack can’t keep her out of their heads, even Joon. Cam decides to push the agenda of completing their pack by asking Eva to become their surrogate in exchange for seed money for her game studio. Two omegas in one pack are incredibly unusual and navigating the speed bumps to form their dream pack is what made this story so compelling.
I struggled in the beginning of the book. I couldn’t connect with Marcus and Cameo and didn’t appreciate their treatment of Joon. Joon was incredibly frustrating to me due to his inability to communicate his feelings maturely. I really lost it when Marcus fulfilled his agreement with Eva to treat her like an omega they were courting during the surrogacy by calling the date he planned for her an obligation. That being said, those flaws made them incredibly realistic characters that I ultimately fell in love with.
I had to step back and question why I was having this negative reaction to some of the relationships in this book and ultimately it came down to my own preconceptions about how relationships “should” be. I had to sit with my own feelings of jealousy and rejection over this fictional relationship which to me demonstrates the power of this story and the impact of the characters. It could be that I feel the stories I read too deeply but I think it may be a little bit of that and a lot more that these two authors wrote characters with realistic and relatable emotions. They are all flawed but interesting, lovable, and deeply loyal to their pack. I ended up appreciating each of them for the traits they brought to their pack. I had to adjust my understanding of the unique ways they showed love and caring to appreciate all the love between the pack members. They all at times adjusted and grew to accommodate the needs of their pack and I think you will love them as much as I do.
The spicy scenes, dynamics, and kinks explored by pack Lombardi are 10/10. There is truly a flavor for everyone in this pack. We get omegas in heat but we also get alphas in rut. I appreciated this because it put alphas in a similar vulnerable position we see omegas in frequently.
I love the streamverse world. I can’t wait to see who we focus on next. We meet Indy’s brother Mason in this story who is connected to organized crime and a doctor so I’m crossing my fingers we get more of him in the future.
This was a gosh darn delight to read, I was eating it up (PUN INTENDED).
Did this need to be 500 pages, probably not, but I absolutely devoured this.
The plot is the plot, she legit gets pregnant in the last 30 pages of the book so it’s really about them all coming together (HELLO!) as a pack and trying to GET her pregnant.
Before I started, I was like 5 people is too many! It was a little hard to keep track of all the different POV’s, but everyone truly felt distinct and had their own personality quirks and deep desires. They also had their own sexual kinks that was interesting to read about.
I learned several new terms in this book: free use. Which is crazy, but also wasn’t as utilized as I thought it coulda been. Shabari ropes - interesting. Knife play… no thank you! There was A LOT OF sex in this but it didn’t feel gratuitous really. Everyone had their own relationships and styles and then they would come together (PUN INTENDED) AS A PACK.
Ivy needs a book. Maybe she can get with Mason, Joon’s adopted brother who’s in the MAFIA (lol) and helped rescue Eva from her actual stalker. That was an overarching subplot that was dealt with QUICKLY and I totally called who it was. Seems she’s mixed up in trafficking?!
At the end of this do I fully understand the Omegaverse? I feel like I get the basics - I enjoy all the scent stuff, I just… the knotting as a human I don’t get. Listen - I’m gonna keep reading everything @Bex | Fantasy🔥 for QUEERS and @LE Eldridge Signed Book Shop write even if I can’t wrap my head around it.
‘I looked forward to the times when he’d appear with that half-feral look in his eye, as if he didn’t have me this instant, the world would end. It was flattering as hell. More than that, it was fucking hot.’
Omegas were rare, only about three to five percent of the population, so there wasn't a huge sample size to study, much less for me to come into contact with. It was pretty common for an omega to have several alphas she wanted to claim as her own, but an alpha with a couple of omegas? It just wasn’t the norm. At least not outside of alpha-focused porn. Maybe I was just greedy.
“God, you’re already drenched for me," I hissed, rewarding her with a heavy kiss. "So fucking needy, aren't you, princess?”
Not when Eva could be the solution to my pack's problems. Courting her for the purpose of acting as our surrogate would solve everything. Creating a timeline that I was comfortable with. I wanted a pack. I wanted a family. A baby. And the longer that I waited around to find somebody who was ready for that, the harder it was going to be.
Though I wasn’t afraid to dole out proper punishment, I was also conscious of my omega’s safety, always.
"If you stop crying," I said through clenched teeth, so tightly that my jaw ached. "I'll buy you a new car. But you need to stop. right now, before you kill us."
"Color?" he asked. It took me a moment to remember the system. "Green." He smacked me again. "Good. Now, don't talk with your mouth full, it's rude."
“Fuck,” they hissed, barely above a whisper. “Tell me you want me too.”
Even though I'd known Indi first, and even had feelings for them... Marcus was the one who found me in the mirror maze. Who’d chased me. Who’d dominated me.
"Eva, if you don't want this, we need to stop now. I've hit my ceiling for stopping myself from fucking you.”
Cameo helped me with the zipper, even his soft domestic touches feeling like a demand.
I barely managed to swallow my delighted groan as I found her naked beneath. In only a few short days, she was already learning what was expected of her.
The longer I remained in the ruined space, the angrier I became. If anyone was going to sneak around in my omegas house, steal her shit, and terrify her, it was going to be me. I had a signed contract consenting to it.
"Don't worry, I'll give you exactly what you need, when you need it."
Over My Dead Body (The Streamverse, book 2) by Bex Deveau & L.E. Eldridge ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Interconnected Standalone * Omegaverse * Why Choose * Poly * Video Games * BDSM * Kidnapping * Masked Play * Stalking * Breeding Kink * Daddy Kink * Surrogacy * Free Use * Knife Play * Pierced Peen * Billionaire * MM * MNBI * MNBIMMF * Polyamory * Touch Her and Die * DP * Shibari * Found Family 📖 523 pages
Technically this can be read as a standalone, but there is a prequel novella that showcases the group’s first meeting, and those events are referenced throughout this story quite a bit. I’d definitely recommend reading that first for the full experience. There’s also a previous standalone novel (with its own prequel) following another interconnected pack made up of their friends/coworkers. While not necessary to understand this story, it’s absolutely worth reading too.
This is a multiple POV romance following all five members of the pack, and one thing I really appreciated was how distinct every single character felt. Their personalities, inner dialogue, and emotional reactions were unique enough that I almost never had to check whose POV I was reading. That always makes a huge difference for me in larger poly romances because it helps every relationship dynamic feel fully developed rather than blending together.
I also really appreciated the inclusion of a non-binary main character woven naturally into the story. Their identity is simply part of who they are, rather than feeling overly spotlighted or forced into the narrative, and I’d honestly love to see even more representation like this in romance.
Now before diving in, it’s definitely important to understand that this is an omegaverse story. These are not shifters, but humans with an alternate biological hierarchy and instincts. If you’re newer to the genre, having a basic understanding of common omegaverse terms like scenting, knotting, heats, mating bites, alphas, betas, omegas, scent matching, and perfuming will definitely help make the world easier to follow.
The pack dynamics in this one were honestly my favorite part. There’s chaos, possessiveness, emotional vulnerability, and a whole lot of “touch them and die” energy happening throughout the story, but underneath all of the kink and intensity is a genuinely loving found family dynamic. Every member of the group feels important, emotionally connected, as well as emotionally vulnerable to the others, which really helped balance out the heavier and darker aspects of the story.
And yes… this book is VERY spicy. Between the BDSM elements, masked play, knife play, shibari, free use dynamics, and overall possessive pack energy, this definitely leans heavily into the smut-forward side of omegaverse romance. But despite all the chaos, consent, communication, and care between the characters still remain a strong thread throughout the story.

I loved, loved, absolutely loved this book, and now I am completely obsessed with it. I truly never wanted to put my kindle down. I was torn between wanting to binge the book because it was so good, and wanting to slow read the last half because I knew when I finished reading it the story would be over. I have attached myself to these characters. They are so lovable and relatable. Sexy af too! I have already bought the kindle version (non-ARC edition), BEST PURCHASE EVER 🤤. I Cannot wait to re-read it. There is a prequel to this book (Dead 2 me), and I would recommend reading it, so that you have and idea of what happened between all of them at Packtacular. And yes, I ordered that book too. Cannot have one without the other😂
The Alphas: Marcus, Indigo (Indy) and Cameo. Marcus is a restauranteur and A Michelin star chef. Indi is a content creator/gamer and the most caring one in the group. He already knows Eva because they both run in the same gaming groups. Cameo is an Investor, he is neurodivergent, a collector of insects and a germaphobe. The germaphobe part had me dying of laughter in some parts of the book. The Omegas: Joon is an Artist and the main Omega in the pack. I found Joon to be very annoying. That would be the only thing I would change in the book, apparently, I do not like brats, or just brats to that extent. I felt like his every move was intended to be bratty and it made me dislike him and not connect to his character like I wanted to. Eva is a content creator/gamer with dreams of opening her own gaming studio. Eva signs a contract with the Lombardi Pack to be a surrogate foe them. The money from their agreement will help fund her gaming studio and jumpstart her career. But with emotions high and the pull for more, does the pack really intend on letting her go once the contract is complete?
I do not want to divulge too much information because I know I will go on and on, but I will give you a few details that wont ruin the fun for you. There is a lot of hook ups in this book. Some scenes are just 1 on 1 and other times it is the entire pack🤤. They are steamy, fun, and a panty melting enjoyable time. We get to envision an Alpha in rut and in the prequel, you get to read about Eva’s surprise heat during Packtacular. This book was just amazing, and I hope that you take the opportunity to read it.
Thank you to Bex Deveau, L.E. Eldridge and The Smuthood for the ARC. I really loved this book and since this was my first read from them, I will be reading the books prior. Such a fantastic job. I really enjoyed it. Thank You!
ARC Review of Over My Dead Body by L.E. Eldridge & Bex Deveau🩷📚
I am honestly completely obsessed with this book. Like the kind of obsessed where you finish it and just sit there staring at the wall because you are not ready to leave these characters behind.🥹
The plot had me in a chokehold, but the relationships are what absolutely wrecked me. They felt so real it almost hurt. Nothing was neat or easy. People messed up, said the wrong things, didn’t communicate the way they should, and felt everything way too deeply. It was complicated and emotional and a little chaotic, and that is exactly what made it so perfect.🤩
Joon and Eva trying to figure out their place in the pack was one of my favorite parts. Having two omegas added such an interesting dynamic, and I loved watching them both struggle, grow, and slowly find where they fit. It was emotional without feeling forced, and I got so attached to both of them.
And this pack. I am not okay about them. Every single character brought something different, and their connections with each other felt so layered and genuine. You could feel the tension, the love, the confusion, all of it. I loved that things were not wrapped up in a perfect little bow because it made every moment hit so much harder.
Also the chemistry is unreal. Truly some of the best I have read. The balance between the plot and the intensity was perfect, and everything just flowed so well together. Nothing felt like filler. I was invested in every single page.
Bex Deveau and L.E. Eldridge absolutely killed it with this one. I loved every second of it and I am genuinely not over it. I already know I am going to reread this because I am not ready to let this pack go.🥹💘

Over My Dead Body by Bex Deveau & L.E. Eldrige Rating: ★★★★☆ (3.5 rounded up) Thanks to the authors and The Smuthood for the ARC!
Over My Dead Body was my first introduction to Bex Deveau and L.E. Eldrige, and it definitely won’t be my last. This book is a standalone within the connected Streamverse series, and even without reading the first installment, I found myself quickly pulled into the world and its characters.
The story follows the evolving relationships between Eva, Joon, Indigo, Marcus, and Cameo. Eva is an ambitious streamer and game developer trying to turn her dreams into reality, while Joon is an artist attempting to find a place where he truly belongs. Indigo brings Joon into their pack, navigating the delicate balance of supporting him while keeping the group unified. Marcus and Cameo round out the pack with their own quirks, ambitions, and emotional challenges.
One of the strengths of this book is its focus on character dynamics and personal struggles. Each character brings something distinct to the story, and their individual histories create believable tension and growth. I especially appreciated how the authors explored issues like belonging, trust, emotional communication, and building a found family. The multiple perspectives helped flesh out the pack dynamic, and I enjoyed seeing how each of them evolved as the story progressed.
As someone not very familiar with omegaverse settings, I did find myself wishing for a bit more worldbuilding or explanation at times, but that might be because I’m new to the genre. Even so, the emotional beats landed, and there were several moments that genuinely moved me.
Overall, this was an engaging read with heartfelt character work and a unique premise. While it didn’t completely wreck me emotionally, it still made me feel invested, and I’m excited to check out more books in the Streamverse series.
🖤 𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀🖤 Over My Dead Body by Bex Deveau and L. E. Eldridge is a steamy novel centered around a pack of Alphas that feels unfulfilled with an omega that refuses to bond with them. It’s a slow-building plot that shows the tension between the pack and Eva, as she entered their lives through an emotional tying contract. The characters are likable. The spice is hot and heavy. Honestly, a quick pacing Omegaverse novel where nobody feels misplaced or misused, and everyone gets a turn with the lovely Omega.
*spoilers*
Eva is a gorgeous pink-haired Omega that had a night of pure bliss during her heat with a pack of Alphas, lead by NB Indigo. The only thing.. this pack already has an Omega. Joon, who is persistent on not allowing himself to bond to them because of past conflicts that are blurry his mind. But Marcus and Cameo are ready for their pack to make the next step. They are ready for a baby.
See, Joon is a male Omega and can’t really do this for them himself so Marcus takes it upon himself to ask if Eva will carry a baby for them. In exchange for payment and other conditions. Eva’s life has been miserable since someone broke into her car and apartment. Someone that has been stalking her. Making it clear that they want her for themselves. But the Lombardo pack already staked their claim on her. Even welcoming her into their pack after making sure Joon was comfortable.
I won’t go too far into depth but I will say… you are absolutely going to find yourself jumping into this book without willing to return to reality. The relationship between Omegas is heartwarming after the jealousy subsides. The chemistry between Eva and the pack is seducing. I’m still new to reading Omegaverse content but I can guarantee, I will definitely indulge more because this was hot!
This was chaotic, spicy, emotional… and such a fun ride.
Set in the world of online gaming and streaming, Eva is determined to start her own gaming production company but lacks the funds. A surrogacy contract with a pack made up of alphas Marcus, Indigo and Cameo along with omega Joon seems like the perfect solution… except she already has feelings involved after her night with them in the prequel novella Dead 2 Me. When her safety is threatened, being pulled further into their world only intensifies everything.
Eva has this soft, sunshine omega energy but also a strong need to belong, which makes her slot into the pack dynamic in a way that feels natural but not seamless. Joon, as the other omega, brings a different kind of emotional tension, while Marcus, Indigo and Cameo each offer completely different alpha dynamics. Individually they work but together they are not quite in sync, and that imbalance made the dynamic really interesting to watch unfold without giving too much away.
The spice was high and the heats and ruts were next level but they never felt repetitive. The variety in dynamics and tone kept everything feeling fresh, balancing raw, instinct-driven moments with deeper emotional connection.
What stood out most though was how messy and real the relationships felt. There is jealousy, insecurity, miscommunication and this constant need to feel wanted and secure, especially with the omegas. Watching them try to navigate that and find their balance made everything feel more grounded, and I really appreciated that it was not all tied up perfectly.
The external conflict also worked well to bring everything together, pushing the pack to confront their issues and strengthening their bond in a way that felt earned. By the end, I was fully invested in all of them and their journey and it left me wanting more of this world and these characters.
This is one of my favorite omegaverse series of all time. I really loved the first novella and full length book, so I was really looking forward to continuing this series with Over My Dead Body after reading the novella. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the first duet back in this one, and I hope it’s not the last we see of all of these characters.
This pack having two omegas is not something I’ve ever really read before (I don’t read a ton of omegaverse, but I dabble), but I really liked the dynamic it brought to the story. There are eight different romantic relationships in this book as this pack involves five different people. Both the omegas have a relationship with each of the three alphas, making six different connections, and a relationship with each other. Two of the alphas also have a history together, which makes eight individual romantic connections. You would think that would make it difficult for the authors to flesh out each of these relationships evenly, but I feel like they did really well giving us enough of each relationship.
I wouldn’t say that there’s one main character since there are five points of view in this book, but I did find myself attached to Eva the most. Her relationships with each of the other pack mates was probably my favorite part of this book, and I really liked watching her grow more comfortable with them. Indi and Joon are a close second, and their relationship was very precious to watch as well.
I also really love that there’s queer and non-binary rep in this universe. I find that omegaverse tends to not include that rep for whatever reason, so I was really glad to see it here.
I’m excited to see who’s next in the series, but I have a theory we will be seeing Ivy (and maybe Mason) again in the future. I’ll be patient, but just know that it will be hard.
OVer My Dead Body by Bea Deveau and L.E. Eldridge is the second book in The Steamverse series, but it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone.
The common cold has me in its clenches. And so, as I snuggle back into my sheets, I dived into the Omegaverse, Bea Deveau and L.E. Eldridge graced my kindle.
It took me a minute to realize this story focuses on two omegas—something that feels refreshingly different from the more common single-omega dynamic in omegaverse stories. Eva, a cam girl with ambitions of creating her own game, and Joon, a bratty yet deeply creative artist who longs for a pack but struggles with vulnerability, make for a compelling core. Their relationship is engaging on its own, but adding the three alphas—Marcus, Cameo, and Indigo—really brings everything to life. Each alpha highlights different facets of Eva and Joon, showing how well they complement one another, even when things get complicated.
This isn’t a smooth or effortless relationship. It’s filled with missteps, emotional challenges, and plenty of ups and downs. YES to the growth! And it wasn't instant. Nothing was rushed or unearned, and that gradual, sometimes painful development makes the emotional payoff especially rewarding. There’s a kind of satisfying “ache” that comes from watching them truly earn their happiness.
Overall, I loved the steady buildup and the bold, chaotic energy of the relationships. It’s an engaging, fast-paced read that kept me fully invested from start to finish. I’m definitely planning to pick up the prequel novella Dead 2 Me next to spend more time in this world. I can't wait for the next book!
Another amazing book in the Streamverse series! Contemporary MNBIMMF omegaverse with masked characters, free use, stalking, knotting, mating bites and lots of delicious spicy scenes. Can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading at least the prequel novella, Dead 2 Me first.
I really enjoyed this book! Loved the pack dynamics and relationship development between the characters. Having two omegas in the same pack was interesting and I really enjoyed how both Joon and Eva had to figure out their place in the pack. Loved how the characters weren’t perfect and they all had their own issues they needed to figure out.
The spice was spicing and the ratio between plot and spice was great.
The storyline kept me hooked and I didn’t want this book to end. This series as a whole has made its way to my comfort series list and I can see myself reading these books over and over again.
“There were a lot of limits I had when it came to relationships and omegas. Unfortunately for Eva, stalking wasn’t really one of them.” “Just watch her stream together, see if it makes you horny or jealous. That would clear it up pretty fast, right? Make it super obvious…” "Your begging is so cute, it almost makes me want to give you what you want." "How about I make you a deal, cumslut? I'll teach you the right way to use the knife, but I'm going to show you the fun way first." “What, spankings follow the same rules as phone calls?” “You know, for someone in heat, you’re speaking way too coherently. It seems a slut like you needs more, hm?”
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
Typically I love omegaverse books and the blurb for this novel really hooked me in…..unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. While each character was unique, interesting and had their own distinct personality - I felt no real connection between them as a pack. It felt more like a random group of people together who said they were a pack with no emotional reasoning or storytelling for why they were a pack, or even invested to be together. I HATED Joon for like 99.9% of the book (he was tolerable at the end). There were also issues for repeating sentences/phrases within a few pages of each other. For example, within the same chapter and scene, Indi says “I need a minute, and so do you…” twice with less than a page between the two sentences. There were also issues in a few parts where Indi’s pronouns were flipped to he/him when for the majority of the book they were they/them - that felt jarring for me. Also, the blurb stated that Eva had ‘heartbreak after heartbreak’ but I didn’t get that impression from the story - and if I remember correctly, Eva even stated about only really dating one guy with nothing coming from it (but I could be remembering that wrong). Finally, I hated how dismissive everyone was of Indi’s reaction to Marcus and Joon (even Indi himself). I felt that whole situation was handled horribly. I understand that the book was about obviously imperfect characters with terrible communication but it was also the internal dialogue of each character too. I felt like there was very little genuine care for one another - they were all somewhat selfish and uncaring of each other and their pack as a whole.
Thank you to the Smuthood and authors Bex Deveau and L.E Eldridge for the ARC of Over my Dead Body 🎀 This was my first omegaverse read and… what a ride 😝 Before anything, if you’re diving into this world, I highly recommend starting with the prequel novella Dead 2 Me. It really helps introduce the pack and gives you a better understanding of the dynamics between the omegas Eva and Joon, and the three very intriguing alphas Marcus, Cameo, and Indigo. Plus… their first meeting? Let’s just say 👀 pick the color green for a great time 😉
In Over My Dead Body, we follow Eva, a gamer with big dreams of building her own video game company, but after meeting the pack, her life takes an unexpected turn, one that forces her to make a major decision that could shape both her future and theirs.
At the same time, the pack is navigating their own internal dynamics. While connections begin to form, Joon is still working through past wounds, which adds an emotional layer to the story and leads us to discover the alphas fears as well. I liked the unique concept blending gaming + omegaverse as well as the complexity of relationships within the pack and Eva being a second omega. Also, each of them had such unique personalities so it was fun to learn more about them.
🔥and the spice... not saying I was blushing… but I definitely had to pause a few times 😏
This was definitely an immersive and different reading experience for me, and I’m glad I decided to give this genre a try!
I do recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading, as this story explores themes that may not be for everyone
If you hate books with miscommunication or bad communication, this is not the book for you. No one here can have a conversation when it needs to be had, but for me? I ate it up. The relationship dynamics between everyone, at least in the first half of this, were deliciously toxic. No one could talk about their feelings. When someone's feelings did get hurt or someone got jealous, our MMCs resorted to pointed jabs and silent treatment. I loved it.
I like relationships in books that show real life drama. I like a lack of communication because when these characters start to talk, you can see the character growth when they all start to vibe together more cohesively. That growth does show really well here. I loved the FMC, Eva. She was so vibrant and fun. The male omega, Joon, was a wonderful character. He was jealous and bratty and sometimes shitty, but I really liked him as a foil to Eva as far as omegas go. The voices of the alphas were all unique enough that I didn't get them confused by they also didn't come across as caricatures (as much as you can get with a slightly darkish romance.)
There is a slight suspense plot going on in the background as well. It worked well as far as pacing. The "villain" wasn't a shock at all. As soon as the character is introduced, you know they're going to be a problem. But the entire scope of the issue was a bit of a surprise. I like how it all worked towards the climax and I love how everything went.
This was such a fun, smutty read. It was filthy, funny, and sweet.
First, thank you to the Sumtthood and Bex Deveau for the advance readers copy of this story. It was a fun read and made me an instant fan of Bex. My intro to the world of the streamverse world was interesting to say the least, but also a good time. Following each character was a little head spinning at first, but I caught on quickly since each had their own unique distinct personalities. There were moments I kind of felt like I was watching a spicy TV drama series. A really good one that you binge because you want to see what happens next. The Omegaverse was also a different world for me. When referencing Alphas, Betas, and Omegas my mind goes directly to shifters. But there was no shifting in this world, just a way of life. Pack-life to be correct. And the pack followed in this story is looking for an Omgea. Technically they already have one, but he is wary of committing. And for good reason. But the pack would also like to have a baby. Enter our FMC, Eva. She's a streamer who has dreams of starting her own video game company but keeps running into back luck. That is until she gets an offer from this pack who agrees to financially back her and all her dreams in exchange for a baby. Oh, and freeuse. There is also a conflict for the pack. Eva seems to have someone out to get her as crazy things keep happening to her, like her car getting trashed and her apartment getting broken into and ransacked. Overall, I enjoyed this new world, all the characters, and the steamy good time they all had. I will be adding the books in this series to my TBR.
This one hurts to write because I love omegaverse—it’s one of my favourite genres—and I genuinely went in expecting to love this after enjoying the prequel… but it just didn’t hit.
I struggled to connect with both Eva and Joon, which made it hard to stay invested. I wanted to root for Eva, but there was a disconnect that kept me at arm’s length, and Joon just didn’t land for me at all. Their role as an omega felt off, and the bond between them lacked the depth and intensity I expect from omegaverse—I just never fully believed in their connection.
Indi honestly left me confused. Their pronouns seemed to shift partway through the book, which pulled me out of the story, and their presence felt inconsistent—like they went from side character to core pack member without enough development to make it feel natural.
Marcus had so much potential, and I actually found myself the most interested in him, but the constant miscommunication between him and Joon dragged on far too long. Instead of building tension, it just became frustrating and repetitive.
The pacing overall was a big issue. For a book sitting over 500 pages, it felt like it didn’t need to be that long—some parts dragged, while others (especially the ending) felt incredibly rushed. After such a long build-up, the resolution just didn’t feel satisfying.
There are definitely ideas here that could have worked, and I can see what the author was aiming for, but the execution didn’t quite come together for me.
As someone who adores omegaverse, this one stings a little—but unfortunately, it was a miss.
