Enduring
Enduring is set in a small town in South Carolina that is known for family traditions, family gatherings, and stick-to-your-rib food. The hero is haunted by a past mistake that cost him the love of his life. The heroine returns home to help with a family crisis, and discovers that time or distance didn’t erase the hurt and pain caused by the man she once loved. Through faith, Enduring shows not only the characters but the readers that the unconditional love of God, and the loving support of family and friends, one can endure anything.

In Enduring, the author has done a good job of demonstrating the need for God in her characters’ lives. The story line is interesting and I can tell that the main character has a heart for God and great love for her family.
The main story focuses on a past, failed relationship between Kennedy and Dale. Will Kennedy ever be able to trust Dale with her heart again? Is the potential for more pain worth it? Kennedy is also dealing with the failing health of her grandmother due to dementia. This main storyline is very interesting.
However, for me, there is perhaps too much going on in this book. Where Enduring became confusing for me was the many extra story lines going on within this book. I had trouble keeping everyone straight and many times felt overwhelmed with the amount of detail.
Good premise and worthy plot, but I felt there was a bit too much extraneous information that pulled my focus away from the heart of the story.
