1.5* rounded down for content.

This is well-edited, but else reads like straight out of a lad magazine, the Hustler or the Playboy. Everything is male-centric, everything and everyone just serves the "lads" in evidence. Women are there to be played with, quite against their will or even knowledge, to be fucked and fucked with, moved about between men as they see fit.

And this unfortunately not as in a fantasy setting which would allow female readers to dissociate and enjoy this, nope. This setting and presentation here is exactly how current patriarchal laddish culture and male privilege come across and work in reality.

It's a male's wet dream of which boxes he wants to stash women in and what to do with them, and not in a sexy way. A lot like the perfect Blonde joke. In fact, that's how the women come across. I'm sure there are people out there who'll love reading this, but there's absolutely no reason why I should like it. This had my skin crawling in a not so good way.

A note to the US readers:

While it is quite acceptable for a sixth-form girl to have an adult lover in the UK in reality (because the UK has a general AoC of 16), this still means that the girls written about in this erotica story are between 16 and 19 years of age. Meaning they could be "minors" and they could be "barely legal", both of which--in conjunction with erotica, non-con and porn--are quite illegal with most publishers and retailers, or simply to own depending on where you live.

Extra-Curricular is one hot dirty read, which I really enjoyed.

This book is much longer than the others and because of this the story for me was told with much more depth than the shorter reads. Gavin McClain & Josh McClain (Uncle & Nephew) together are a pair without limits and will use what ever methods then need to gain the results they both crave. The sex toys and mind games are wild.

Amanda 'Mandy' a teacher who thinks she has lived her wild dirty life and moved onto a happy relationship that is much calmer. Never in her wildest dreams could she image where the McClain men would take her.

Christina a young 18 year old student, sweet & innocent she has had only the one boyfriend and seems very happy with him. Boom until the McClain men show her the delights on offer by 'real' men and her sexy teacher.

Reviewed by Tracey Lou Parker and Sharon Thérèse Nuttall on behalf of Kindle Friends Forever.

This is the second book I have read by this author. The first being Little Black Dress which I enjoyed immensely. Now— this one was a hell of an eye-opener for me, and to say it caused a shell-shocked reaction in me would be an understatement! So be prepared folks because I thought I wasn’t easily drawn out of my comfort zone. How very wrong I was! Please read the synopsis before one-clicking this read. If you are easily offended, this lewd read isn’t for you. And how did you feel about this read Tracey?

It wasn’t hard for me to guess what was coming from the seductive pen of Jake Malden Sharon. Yet again, I had the ultimate pleasure of meeting the main protagonist, Mr. Galvin McClain. Handsome, devilish, sinfully naughty and arrogant. Yes, I think these adjectives describe him perfectly. Women seem to gravitate towards him like a magnet!

I certainly cannot dispute the author’s penmanship with you Tracey. How any author is capable of writing a novel whose storyline is nothing more than an evening of utmost debauchery is to my mind of thinking, quite incredible. I don’t know about you, but I really liked the teacher, Amanda. Sassy, highly protective of her pupil. Christina, who is a real sweetie, is a little gullible for her own good though. And my ooooh, my! After she confessed her inner feeling and literally opened her heart to her teacher… blinking heck! A case of teacher’s pet, eh Tracey?

Oooh yes Sharon, There was certainly more than meets the eye with Amanda, the teacher. Or should we call her saucy Mandy? I liked her too. Very feisty! I got the impression that she wouldn’t do anything she didn’t want to do. So those few hours with Gavin, well, she loved it. And I agree with you Sharon; Christina does come across as quite innocent and gullible; however, she was willingly led on, and as for teacher’s pet! I thought Amanda saw a lot of herself in Christina.

Then they both find themselves what appears to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Or not, Tracey? Gavin and his nephew, Josh, are not only a sly couple of seducers, but also a downright corruptive pair of shameless scoundrels. Don’t you think that Josh is the perfect protégé?

Wrong time, wrong place Sharon! No, I think it was perfect timing for everyone involved. Yes, Josh is without a doubt, an apt protégé. For Gavin, it must be like looking in the mirror. Josh has the same cockiness that Gavin has in spades. And he knows it! Just like his uncle. They are so very much alike that one would think they were father and son rather than uncle and nephew. It’s true what they say Sharon, “It’s all in the genes.” I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of Josh in the not too distant future. I have developed quite a soft spot for him. What do you think about the wager Sharon; naughty or nice?

Bwahaha! Not a difficult question to answer Tracey. Most definitely naughty! Not only was it a wager, it was also downright blackmail. Oh my God! What did you think about the cucumber scene? I will never be able to look at this vegetable as a salad ingredient again.

Not a vegetable Sharon. A fruit! My first thought was that at least they were getting one of their five a day lol! That cucumber really took a beating! I made me chuckle when Josh said, “I got it from the restaurant this morning, it’s nice and fresh.” Like that mattered. As you mentioned, I don’t think I will be able to look at a cucumber in the same way without smirking and thinking back to the scene in Jake’s book.

Quote: “It’s nice and fresh, that optimum point where it’s pumped hard with its own juice before it starts to go soft. Get me?

What caught my attention apart from the originality of a plot which has extremely explicit vocabulary, was the humour. It abounds. Tracey, I’m sure you’d agree with me regarding the characters’ personalities. They are well thought out, and I was delighted to see perfect editing. Therefore I would like to say one word to Mr. Malden; Bravo!

Bravo indeed Sharon. I have to congratulate Jake Malden. This instalment of the Gavin McClain’s stories surpassed all my expectations. His use of words left me spellbound, and showed me that erotica can be beautifully worded without sounding trashy. Can’t wait to see what Jake, or should I say Gavin, has in store for Jake!

"His gaze flicked to Gavin, who was surprisingly transfixed by the show, fingers steepled at his lips like he was deep in thought." - With that one sentence, I knew there would trouble - the kind of delicious trouble no one involved would ever forget.

A satisfying novella-length book, Extra Curricular is the best Gavin McClain story yet. In the beginning, I liked this series strictly for the vicarious thrill of reading really hot sex. I had no love for a character that made promises he had no intention of keeping. Slowly, though, I warmed up to Gavin and, with this book, he finally won me over. Yes, he employed blackmail to get what he wanted, but truthfully, he provided a ready excuse for his "victims" to succumb to their most secrets desires. Having seen his softer side in Twenty-One, I knew Gavin had a heart, cold as it might be. Even still, the care he afforded young Christina in Extra Curricular was a pleasant surprise. The peek at his conscience was another mark in his favor. He might enjoy being a dirty old man, but at least he knows where that will land him in the end.

As for the writing style and plot, author Jake Malden raised the bar once again. Wickedly delicious, his stories are always a thigh-clenching treat to read, though his writing style changes subtly with each new installment. His earlier works were raunchy, focusing more on graphic descriptions of the physical acts, while paying little to no attention to the emotions involved. Mr. Malden is a highly adaptable author though, and he apparently listens well to his mostly female fan base. His plots are still darkly twisted, and often shocking in a way that keeps me craving more. His writing, however, is now exquisitely sexy and tasteful - yet no less erotic than his earlier works - with just enough emotion to help me really connect with the characters.

The erotically charged Extra Curricular is a must read, packed full of deliciously naughty fantasies, sure to satisfy even the most deviant inner freak. I highly recommend you purchase a copy today.

A note to Jake regarding Josh: The transformation of his character as he comes into his own, and especially the mishap with uncontrolled orgasmic trajectory, were truly reminiscent of certain snapshots from your blog. It was a delightful surprise I thoroughly enjoyed.
