Have you ever been obsessed? I have, and his name is Jackson. So, what if I have a few things standing between my dream guy and reality? A medium and a guy who is terrified of ghosts can definitely make it work. In the name of love, that is. But now I find myself in a seedy club for kinks Jackson is supposedly into… and on top of that I just had to follow a murderer around. Not my fault his previous victims are bound to him, begging me to help them escape him for good. And when the murderer targets me, he’s there, my knight in shining armor. Jackson.
Can Pete win Jackson over and hide his ability to see ghosts? Their new house tenants, two ghosts named Mitch and Nic, proves difficult to ignore, but Pete is determined to never let them know his secret.
This is an MM paranormal with low angst and with a guaranteed HEA. Meddling ghosts included.

I truly loved this story of two people who fell very deeply in love, and we had virtually their whole lives together in one books.
I was fascinated with the whole Medium trope and with Pete working for the FBI to help close cases and send ghost on. However we never really saw that part, it was virtually just a side note. Apart from one very troubled ghost, all we saw of his medium gift was talking to friendly ghosts that lived in the places Pete did, and even then it was a side note, as Pete couldn’t talk to them with Jackson around due to his terror of ghosts. I personally, greatly missed this sad opportunity here.
Pete & Jackson get together very quickly, having known each other for a few years (with Jackson being Pete’s brother best friend) and of course with Pete’s two year deep infatuation with Jackson, he wasn’t going to wait long! 🥰
Jackson needed to escape within his dominant/sub dynamics, due to his belligerent father, and having been forced to work within his father’s company. However after his father’s death, this need had petered out and vanished completely when he got together with Pete. He just wanted them to make love 🥰. The bdsm side of Jackson we never truly saw, we just had the odd snippet a couple of times at the beginning.
Jackson did eventually however buy his mansion he dreamed of running as an exclusive bdsm club, which he and Pete ran together for years, with Mitch and Nic as their ghostly companions (from book 1), which where fun.
I really enjoyed this low angst, very gentle pace love story. I feel a lot of deeper emotions may have been missed as we had a lot of their lives to fit into one book, rather than their initial getting together romantically. Nonetheless it was beautiful to read their love story and how deeply they loved and needed each other. I‘m very much looking forward to the next book in the series.
First, just know that if Regitse writes it, I will read it.
I was already in love with Pete and Jackson from Spectral Payback and this story just made me fall even more. The love between these 2 just leaps off the page and sucks you in.
Jackson might be the best friend of his older brother, but Pete is determined to not let that stop him from winning his heart. It will be tough since Jackson has a fear of ghosts and Pete is a medium. Jackson might not be a v!rgin like Pete, but everything with Pete is so new that it can feel like starting over. These 2 have such an amazing relationship with each other that I'm literally jealous.
I can't wait for more from this series! Absolutely incredible and of course another 5 star read!
had a fun time reading this! I read Spectral Payback (book 1) and Nic and Mitch were hilarious in that and we also met Jackson and Pete a little so I was interested in picking up book 2 to get more of their story and I’m glad I did. Both books hold some harder themed moments but over all they are a cute, fun time. Jackson and Pete were adorable. The way they clicked once their feelings were known was sweet to see. I liked how supportive they were of each other even when Jackson wasn’t fully aware of what Pete was involved in for work and how protective they were of one another. Their relationship development was interesting and I was always curious about the mansion and their dynamic when there, I’m glad we got more insight. I enjoyed seeing Mitch and Nic again. The side characters were fun and I’m definitely curious about Dylan and Mike!
I was so happy when I heard that these two were getting their own story 💛 Pete is just the sweetest, and Jackson is his crush!
Pete is a medium, and we get to be a part of his experience and life having this ability 💛 Jackson seems to be a confident and tough guy, but he’s kinda scared of ghosts… I really enjoyed how Regitse wrote this story, and how she plotted everything 💛
We got to see some familiar characters as well, I always appreciate that 💛
I loved the storyline in this one, and as I assumed we got lots of feels, funny moments and some spice 💛
I absolutely loved the first book in this series, Spectral Payback, and was so looking forward to Pete and Jackson’s story. And it was good, I did overall enjoy it but I had one huge problem with it….
SPOILER AHEAD
I really disliked that Pete never told Jackson he could see and talk to ghosts. It just bothered me. It was such a huge part of who Pete was, who is mom was, who Mike ended up being. Not to mention Rino and Kyle. And their whole lives, everyone who could see and talk to ghosts in Pete and Jackson’s lives, had to hide a part of themselves. I get that Jackson had trauma over ghosts when he was young but if I was Jackson and found out after I died that many of the people around me had this ability and never told me I would be devastated. The epilogue where Pete is so excited to spend his afterlife with Jackson as a ghost? I would think that Jackson would be so excited about that too if he knew! Alright, got that tidbit off my chest and aside from that plot point….
Pete and Jackson were the cutest. I loved how Pete knew from when he was sixteen Jackson was his and he just pinned from afar biding his time. And when it was time he jumped in with both feet to see if he was compatible with Jackson’s BDSM lifestyle. The scene where his friend Dylan tests out differing Dom styles on Pete was hilarious.
And Jackson was the perfect protective partner, the way he found his feelings for Pete was intense and was another one of my favorite scenes in the book. It gave a great glimpse into what can happen to ghosts and what Pete can do.
I loved Pete’s family dynamic, the cast of characters we get and the glimpses we get of Nic and Mitch were amazing and made me laugh. Oh and the sharing scene? 🥵 HOT!
Besides my sticking point, I did enjoy Jackson and Pete and am looking forward to the next book in the series, ☺️

As someone who enjoyed the heck out of book one in this series, I was so happy to read Spectral Meddling. Nic and Mitch, the adorable ghosts who haunt the mansion Nic once lived and Mitch shared with his very bad boyfriend are back. Their super sweet love story that had me laughing as the got their revenge Dave from beyond. The MCs this time are familiar. Kind, innocent medium Pete who has been in love with his older brother’s best friend since he met him. And why wouldn’t he? Jackson is a total snack and this tall, tattooed hunk has a very memorable scene In Spectral Payback. Their story runs somewhat parallel to SP, and it’s interesting to see events from their POV. I loved that Pete makes the first move and Jackson falls hard. This is a gentle low angst story - even with one MC who talks to spirits and the other terrified of ghosts. Pete’s cover story (and all of the wonderful world building) are well done and amusing. Jackson is so smitten he willingly suspends disbelief when Pete (who is still under 20) tells him he works for the FBI. I liked how Pete and Jackson’s relationship evolved. Their communication is excellent - a HUGE green flag for me. Their love story may be a bit unconventional but it worked for them. Warning: there’s a scene that manages to be sweet, sexy, smutty, and laugh out loud funny. I loved it! You never doubt their devotion to each other. In the epilogue, as they enter their golden years and Pete ponders their future, it’s a delicately written testament to the enduring power of love.
I loved this!! It was so much fun to see how the couple from the first book got together. I really liked both these men in the first book so I was really excited to get to read their story. I was not disappointed. They are just as sweet and loving as we're used to with Regitses characters. Low on angst but high on feels!
Thank you for the chance to beta read this for you Regitse. My words are honest and voluntary.
OH...... WOW.......... Spectral Meddling by Regitse Liljadorff is Absolutely Brilliant was hooked from the start could not put it down I simply love Pete and Jackson together they are so adorable been waiting for this after meeting them in book 1 Spectral Payback with Nic & Mitch two adorable and cute ghosts who love to watch and have fun and they all do Pete a medium who speaks to ghosts but for Jackson the Love of is life who's also scared of ghosts he has to act like he doesn't see them and work with them he's so protective of him their love for each other so beautiful and moving I recommend so much.
This book was a lot of fun. I’ve never read a book where everything revolved so much around ghosts and mediums, but to my surprise, I enjoyed it. Jackson and Pete were adorable; there were funny scenes that made me laugh out loud, and others that practically made me melt. The Mitch and Nic duo was absolutely delightful, and by the end of the book I found myself really, really shipping Dylan and Mike as well.
The only thing I didn’t like was the sharing. I don’t have a problem with it in general—I’ve read quite a few books like that lately—but here my issue was more with who was part of the scene, since I couldn’t really grow to like either of the characters involved.
Despite that, it was an enjoyable, entertaining read.
I received a copy of the book as an ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
Spectral Meddling delivers equal parts sweetness, low angst, and supernatural charm. One of my favorite moments is when Pete, who has been quietly pining for Jackson since he was sixteen, asks permission to date Jackson the day he turns eighteen. Deciding this love is worth every risk, including stepping bravely (and a bit awkwardly) into the BDSM community to understand his future partner’s world. Their relationship grows with such tenderness and sincerity that it’s impossible not to root for them. And of course, the delightful ghost cameos from book one sprinkle in plenty of cute, funny moments that lighten the mood and tie the series together beautifully. A heartfelt, playful continuation that hits all the right notes.
I had no idea what to expect when i saw the tropes for this book. A paranormal story about a medium who can see and speak to ghosts. A MC who's afraid of ghosts. Owners of a club, sharing... 🤭
I had no idea how that would all fit in one book. But this was a lovely suprise!!♥️
This story was funny, cute, low angst and i wanted to know where the story was going. I couldn't put it down.!!
A medium who can hear ghosts and has to act like he doesn't cause his boyfriend is scared of ghosts. Ghosts who like to watch...
Pete has has a crush on Jackson since he was 16, when Pete finds out Jackson feels the same way, he takes his chance. What a beautiful love story this was. So much understanding. Good communication. Found family. Ans yes a lot of ghosts! 👻
I would recommend this book if you love all the above! Now i wanne know how ghosts - Mitch & Nic -met.
Adding: Spectral Payback to the list!
And uhm, that plottwist at the end?! Need book 3 asap!🥰🫣
Each book in the series is a standalone. But best to read in order cause they're interconected.
This second book in the series was so beautiful and such a delight to read. I love the chemistry between both MMC's.
Seeing the struggles and everything they had to deal with really puts their relationship into perspective. They were truly meant for each other.
I couldn’t get enough of Jackson and Pete. *sighs with contentment*
Can't wait to see what comes next.
Definitely recommend reading this book and honestly anything that Regitse writes. She is so talented with writing and even the art in her books. Check her out. You won't be disappointed.
I really enjoyed this low angst and very gentle pace love this beautiful story had. This book was beautifully written and we got to see how deeply Jackson and Pete loved each other, and how ready they were to make things work between each other. Oh I just loved getting to see Nick and Mitch again it really was the a sweet little treat. And just the way Pete had to act like he could see or hear them, swooning over Jackson and him, was really jut the cherry on the top in this book.
Nonetheless it was beautiful to read their love story and how deeply they loved and needed each other.
