After reading the blurb, I wasn't sure what I was getting into. I thought it was going to be an easy romance, but I was wrong. His Angel had some mystery, suspense, and darkness.
Abigale lost her twin sister in a car accident and is going through survivor's guilt. She feels absolutely broken. Her boyfriend also left for Brazil and never came back. No phone call. No email. Nothing.
Evan is a man with many secrets. He's been watching Abby for years. From a distance, he fell in love with her innocence, beauty, and kindness. If he wasn't so handsome and wealthy, I'd consider him a stalker. But because he's hot, it's totally okay.
Anyways...
With perfect timing, Evan inserts himself into Abby's life. Their relationship is so hot... it will fog up your bathroom mirror. But all the secrets become an issue that the couple need to tackle together.

Oh wow. This is so not what I was expecting. I can't even say what I was expecting but it certainly wasn't this heart squeezing story.
Like most of my reviews I refuse to go into the storyline. I feel you need to jump into this blind and experience this read. I started this book last night. Finding it a tad slow I put it down and went to sleep. After doing some housework I picked my kindle up & settled down with a coffee. Although it took a bit to get into its so worth it. Looking back now I felt the author teased me slowly then threw me into the pit. When secrets started to unfold... Oh and that twist... Seriously I felt as if my heart was gonna bang out of my chest. I was literally gripped to this story. Actually I wanted to jump into my kindle and eat the words like Pac Man.
Can you see I loved this book lol I thoroughly loved it. But what an ending!! I'm not keen on cliffhangers. I prefer to know that the next book is out soon but can't find any date except coming soon. So please author I'm hoping your busy writing as I NEED book two now:)

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:
His Angel is Kimberly Blalock's debut novel. I absolutely adore this cover. Its sexy, sensual, and oh so intriguing. The book itself was good too. The one thing that I had a hard time with was I thought the beginning was a tad slow and the story didn't pick up till about half way through. But once Evan and Abby meet, the story perks right up and the passion soars high and strong. Add in the secrets, and this story is filled with suspense, some drama, and tons of passionate hot sex and the kind of romance I like in my books.
I LOVED and I mean LOOOOVED Evan! He was what I always considered the perfect man. He is gorgeous, loyal, protective and hotter than HOT!!! I really liked his personality and I truly loved the fact he was really drawn to Abby. I thought Abby was a very likeable character as well. Sweet, kind, leery and of course attracted to the sexy Evan. I could feel the tension between these two from the moment they met. I think Kimberly Blalock did a truly great job with her first book.
I give His Angel a FOUR OUT OF FIVE STARS! Its a great debut novel and is written well with lots of high points in the story and VERY few low points. The passion and tension is strong and there is a perfect balance of romance and suspense to keep things interesting. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Abbigale (Abby) and Addison (Addie) are twin sisters with both parents being successful surgeons both girls are sort of expected to go into the medical field , which for Addie is no problem as she wants to find a cure for cancer ( bless her heart) but Abby has dreams of her own , she wants to become a writer.
One night all their hopes and dreams come to a crashing halt when the girls are involved in an accident , it ends tragically , Addie dies leaving Abby shattered and devastated. Abby can't face starting the medical program without her sister and finds herself an job as a "newbie" journalist , unknown to her parents. Abby's attitude saddens me though she feels her parents will disown her , I hurt for her parents , she shouldn't underestimate them .
Abby ahas also been dating Marco , a Brazilian , they were engaged actually. He leaves for Brazil and she hasn't heard a word from him in months ! What a douche ! He as ems link a shady character if you ask me , hells bells who just ups and leaves his fiance and never makes contacts !? Hood riddance I say !
Abby's life sent all doom and gloom though , her bestie Amy is coming home from school. Amy is a real live wire and brings Abby out of her shell a bit , she's a good friend and very patient and understanding . Amy is dating a fellow named Dominic and of course he has a friend that's lonely and so they go on a "group date" Abby's life is about to change , drastically , when her path crosses with Evan!
Hells bells ! Evan is pure kryptonite ! A delicious speciMAN ! "......lean and muscular....Dark , unforgiving tousled hair .....bright blue eyes .....dimples on either side of his cheeks......perfect amount of dark stubble....fabulously hard muscles pulsing ....round bottom and thick muscular thighs " OMW! This man is a god ! As if he hasn't won me over already , he seals the deal when he comes to her rescue when she attracts some unwanted attention from a real ass !
Evan has the upper hand though knowing more of Abby than she does of him and also he's had feelings for much longer . He has secrets that could break Abby in more ways than one .
Evan takes control in so many ways and the first time he ties Abby up I feel like I'm intruding on their very intimate and private moment. Yes , there is pleasure but for me it was so much more , by Abby rendering her control to Evan , it felt like she was letting go and learning to heal and trust. Evan may be a hunk and an hulk of a man but he has a soft ,compassionate,patient and loving heart when it comes to Abby . I find myself both crying and laughing , crying because what they have is so real , raw and honest and I'm laughing because trust me to reach for the Kleenex while that's passion and erotic scenes going on !
Secrets have a way of catching up to you. Evan and Abby have made mistakes along the way but they belong together , they're soulmates with an undeniable chemistry that's been there from the very beginning !
A very tragic incident takes place and very nearly rips Evan and Abby apart , it was no accident that's for sure and I've my suspicions as to who the culprit is.
The last few chapters render me an emotional cripple ! I can't wait for the next installment!

WOW! Just WOW! I have to say, for this to be a debut novel, I was left speechless! The story was amazing. I did think it started a little slow, but it more than made up for it by chapter 4. I love the complexity of this story. There is suspense, drama, twists and turns you don't see coming, and lots of passion. Of course being Book 1 of a trilogy, it has a cliffhanger. And what a doozy it is! I can't wait for the next installment to come out! I love the character relationships and hope to see more of that in the next book as well. I am wishing all my best to this new author and hope to be reading more from her in the future!

What a whopper of a book. Mystery, heartache, intrigue, bad ass secondary characters, one HAWT hero, one very sexy and like able heroine. Could you ask for anything more? How about yes! Give me the 2nd book!
Abby is dealing with the death of her sister, and the survivors remorse. It's reasonable. It's honest but her world is about to be turned on its axis and everything she knew or thought to be true... Isn't
Evan is hot. There's no getting around it. But he's also full of secrets and has one whopper of a secret. His world is very much entwined with Abby's... And it could be his downfall, again.
These two are scorching hot together! While this isn't an overtly sexual book, it's there. However, my biggest draw on this book is the unexpected twists and turns and the very well written complications in this book. In what I likely my top mystery romance read of this year, hats off to the author! I downed this book hoping to see what else could possibly happen. Kimberly nailed this book! She's managed to take all of my favorite genres of a book and put it into one book! I can't wait to read book 2!!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this author, this being her debut novel, but DAMN!
The beginning is a bit slower but I don't think that's a bad thing. It sets up the story and what a story! Secret, lies, hidden agendas...it's like an episode of Revenge!
The characters are well developed and Abby is a doll. I heart her! I wasn't quite sure what to make of Evan at first but now I want to lick him. He's so hot. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not but I love that there was a sliver of doubt with the hero. It heightened the suspense.
The only spoiler you will get from me is that there is a cliff hanger. But with this being a trilogy, well, I was kind of hoping everything wouldn't be taken care of in the first book ;)

Wonderfully emotional and suspenseful debut novel!
This full-length novel is the first in a planned serial trilogy. Abigale Hayes, Abby to her family and friends, is twenty two years old, engaged, finishing pre-med at UCLA and starting work for a popular magazine. On the surface this sounds idyllic but the truth is much more complicated. Abby continues to deal with survivor guilt after the crippling loss of her twin sister in a car accident when she was sixteen. Addie had planned to follow their parents’ footsteps in the medical profession while Abby had planned a career in journalism. Feelings of guilt and parental expectations caused Abby to temporarily abandon her own career path but she was now at a crossroads with her schooling. She has to make a decision before she starts medical school in the fall – the last place she wanted to be. I knew this was the first in the serial so I was prepared for the cliffhanger ending. What I hadn’t expected was such an explosive and intriguing end to this debut novel. The writing style was interesting and had a unique flavor which I enjoyed. The main characters, as well as the secondary ones, continued to evolve throughout the chapters as the story’s point of view switched between Abby and Evan. Amy, Abby’s best friend, is that girlfriend we all want to have – one there for you through the good and the bad. And Amy was up to the challenge as Abby faced so many highs and lows. While the first part of the book did seem to lag slightly the tempo quickly picked up until I thought the story was racing along almost too quickly. I did not want it to end so I tried, unsuccessfully, to read slower. Assumptions made at the beginning were totally turned around by the end. The author kept me reading each sentence for any new clue or nuance, any hint to which way the story may lead. I really don’t know what is to come in the next book but I can’t wait to find out!

Where to begin...this is a full on read. I did not put it down until I had finished and now I'm disappointed as I can't continue the story. I need the other two books, but I get ahead of myself.
Abby is "His Angel," tragically being the lone survivor of a car accident that took her twin she has fought the encroaching darkness grief has left within her. Guilt at being the one that lived tinges her day to day thoughts and makes her cautious. Recently deserted by her enigmatic fiance Marco she is trying to find her place in the world. Decisions to follow her dreams and be a writer, risking being disowned by her Father or becoming a doctor to be who her sister was destined to be. Abby is naive to her own beauty and her blind to her inner strength.
Amy her bubbly, take no prisoners BFF, waltzs back into her life and is determined to make Abby see there is more to life than Marco. Amy is Abby's rock, supporting her and giving her the push she needs in tough times. She adds much warmth and depth to the story. A casual set up gives Evan the opportunity he's been dreaming of...
Evan...phwoarrrr! Sorry got lost in a day dream of him in his snug t-shirt, rippling muscles, piercing blue eyes...awww I'm drooling again! Have I mentioned his dimples!?! Ok so you can tell I'm team Evan. The man is dark, in control and has some demons travelling on his back. Fighting between his secrets that he knows will tear his Abby apart and his all consuming love for her we watch as fate takes the decision out of his hands.
This is more than boy meets girls, insta lust then a happily ever after after a few bumps along the way. This story has real twists and turns, undercover agents, bad ass sidekicks and a Cartel or two. There are some dangerous characters that have been introduced and I fear we will see more of them in the next book. The secrets and the lies all begin to unravel and ultimately this is just the beginning as Ethan provides her with the devastating truth.
A powerfully written, suspense filled read that left me breathless and needing more. I fear the flames of destruction are only going to burn brighter in the next one...but I can't wait to find out!

Evan is dark, strong, sexy, protective, and an insatiable "DIMPLE DESTRUCTION." He's your typical ALPHA. His love for Abby runs deep, deeper than she could ever imagine and when it taken away from him in an instant, in the hospital, your heart just bleeds for him. It seems like every step he's taken to be closer to her means absolutely nothing (at least to her). I want to reiterate the fact that I read the end of this book through tearful eyes.

Secrets, love, suspense, heart break and much more is waiting for you

and WOW what a cliffhanger it is.
I found the first half to be a bit slow with getting Abby and Evan
together, but by midway through the book, the slow pace had been forgotten
because once the author flipped the switch, the action began and the
secrets started to spill.
Abby had a twin sister who died when they were in a car accident during
their teen years. Abby has tried to move on in life. She went to college
to fulfill her sister’s dream of medicine but her heart was really in
journalism. She met a man, had a two year relationship with him and then
he suddenly disappeared from her life. Protecting her heart and struggling
to find a reason to look forward to the next day, she agreed to go out with
her best friend who just returned from college. This is where she will
meet the sex God named Evan.
Now I can’t go into much detail because I won’t spoil this book for you,
but Evan has known Abby for a long time and he has wanted to be her man
since he saw her. The secrets you will learn, are what kept him from her,
but now the road is clear and he can move in to not only love her but
protect her from the danger she will soon face.
The ending of the book was unpredictable for me. After all Abby has
strived for in the last year, the love she was beginning to find with Evan,
it is all wiped out in a few minutes. We see the angel Abby become more in
touch with the demon that has begun to grow in her fueled by the truth she
just learned, revenge, anger and years of pain due to the loss of her

I was very honored to be asked by Kimberly to read and review this book. As with all new authors, you never know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. The two main characters, Abby and Evan, are written amazing. I instantly liked Abby and felt for all that she had been through. Losing her twin sister, Addy, in a car wreck, a hit and run no less, has ripped her apart and made her basically live in hell. She has a "relationship" with Marco, who up and leaves and she has no idea when or if he will ever come back. Then her comes Evan, who is friends with her best friend, Amy's boyfriend. They instantly have a connection and you feel that in spades on each page. It was like I was sitting right there in the room with them and could feel the electricity. Evan is every woman's perfect man. He is fierce and intense, majorly protective and all alpha and makes no bones about the fact that he wants Abby and will do anything and everything in his power to make her his forever. I mean really what woman doesn't want that, right? However, there are secrets that he is keeping that threatens to tear them apart. This book really had it all for me. It was full of steaminess, intense ups and downs, with a few twists and turns. WARNING....This book ends in a cliffhanger. I am one of those people that usually says, "if the next book isn't out yet, I don't want to read it yet" but for some reason this book said "READ ME NOW" and I am so glad I did. I NEED the next book ASAP to find out what happens next. This series is going to be a reread trilogy for me for sure. Really, really enjoyed this book. This is an easy rating for me with 5 AMAZEBALLS stars!!!!

This story was absolutely amazing. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was hooked from the first page.
This story is full of mystery,tragedy, suspense, drama, love, and heartache. For a debut novel Kimberly Blalock is off the hook. I hated to go sleep not having finished this book. The chemistry between Evan and Abby is pure.
Abby is a 22 yr old young woman who is broken. She lost her identical twin when they were 16 in a tragic accident that took her from Abby. She has tried to get over it but is so guilt ridden that she thinks that she is the one who should have died. Then her boyfriend/fiance leaves her and goes back to Brazil never to be heard from again.
Her best friend Amy comes back to town, she talks Abby into a night on the town where she meets Evan. She knows from the first look at him that he is different. She knows he will affect her like no one has before. She falls in love with him, but his secrets tear her apart.
Evan has his demons, but has been in love with Abby since that tragic night that took her sister. Evan's love for Abby is pure and powerful. He loves her hard, so hard that she is the air he breathes. He will do what ever it takes to keep her safe and happy, that is why he keeps his secrets. For now. He also knows that Marco and friend Donovan are going to try to use or hurt her. Not OK with him. End of!!!
Abby is hit by a car and wakes up with out any memory of the last year. She has no idea of her relationship with Evan and he is heartbroken. Will she remember the love they have for each other. Constantly asking him to leave her alone, he does. Leaving him crushed and broken.

Abbey went thru a life altering tragedy. On top of that her Marco took off without another word which has turned her into someone else. No longer recognizing the same happy, care free lovable girl. She's scared and has lost all confidence.
Until her eyes connects with Evan’s.
Evan has loved her from afar until the time has come to tell and show abbey how he truly feels
He's cryptic with all his secrets, thus the info about himself that Abbey keeps straining for.
Having a secret government job, he tells her the bare minimum even though inside he's torn and suffering from what he's keeping from her.
As they spend time together their feelings deepened.
Nothing is at it seems. When relationships are built on secrets. Lies.
It's bound to end in disaster.
And that's what Abbey’s afraid of, barely survived from losing two.
Their relationships going strong.
Until another accident rips out Abbey’s heart & soul.

Good book, really enjoyed it
This is a debut novel by Kimberly Blalock Author and I really enjoyed it. His Angel from The Angel Trilogy is book one and introduces us to Evan Young and Abigale Hayes, two young people with pasts that just may very well destroy the love that they share.
Evan is truly the perfect man, although it wouldn't be a great book if there wasn't some sort of dark secret or issue now would it. He is hot, protective and very loyal and is totally drawn to Abby. I liked Abby, even if a little naive at times, she is totally sweet and is completely drawn to Evan.
Evan is controlling, but Abby is happy to have him take control over her life. She gives it to him with ease, because she is so caught up in him and where he is taking her.
I loved Evan and Abby together, it was as intense at it was sexy and at times I really felt like they were a match made in heaven. But every match made in heaven has an issue and some of that issue is her ex Marco. There is nothing to like about Marco, and I am sure there we haven't heard the last of him and there will be more about him in the following books in the series.
The book ends on a cliff hanger! There is intrigue and an explosive end and I really enjoyed it and cannot wait for the second installment in this trilogy.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.This is the story of Abby, a broken, lost woman,who lost her twin sister in a horrible car accident.Abby lives day to day, most days are a blur. She does as her father requests/demands by living the life that would have been her sister's. In college she has a boyfriend from Brazil, he leaves abruptly one day to go back to Brazil and never hears from him again, Marco has many secrets. She agrees to a blind date with Evan, a hot alpha hunky guy, he too has secrets.His secrets revolve around the car accident that killed her sister and ....They have chemistry, he has watched and protected her from a distance, now he does it from closer and just wants to love and be with her as she falls for him hook, line and sinker. Can his secrets stay secrets? Will they destroy her? Will it destroy their relationship? He will kill to protect her or die trying to protect her!! There is action, adventure,suspense romance/ passion , drama and lots of twists and surprises. Be warned this book end with a cliffhanger!! It was well written and fast paced after a slow start. Mind blown! Really, what a corker!
I don't really know what I was expecting from this book; debut novel, slightly cheesy title...I suppose I was thinking it would be of the tried and tested formula. A nice easy read, all lovey dovey with a bit of sex.

After a little bit of a slow, slightly confusing start I quickly found myself immersed in this unconventional love story. The characters are intriguing, every single one draws you in. Abby, for a while, I wanted to slap. I'm not sure why, I just don't think I could be her real life friend. I love it when you think that about characters...how they would fit into your world!!
I really enjoyed the plot twists and the little snippets and teasings of things to come. Obviously there is the obligatory cliff hanger...arrrrgh! It's not a cliff I would want to be perched on that's for sure! I am pleased I'm reading book 2 straight after this one! Not sure I could handle the wait otherwise!

It's not a cliff I would want to be perched on that's for sure! I am pleased I'm reading book 2 straight after this one! Not sure I could handle the wait otherwise!
A definite must read book and an even more definite one to watch author!

This is one of those special stories that grab you right from the very beginning and keeps you guessing, wondering, and hoping until the very last word and leaves you wanting for more. Abby has so much to deal with and has not had a perfect life. But, then she meets Evan and she is drawn to him and he to her. Every relationship takes work in the beginning, but when you add in secrets that both Abby and Evan have you just know that there will be drama. This story is so well written and has your eyes tearing at one point and then you are drooling at the next. The characters, both the good and evil ones, are so well written you can feel yourself wanting to hug some of them and smack others upside the head! I cannot wait to read the next installment in this series.

Upon first opening the pages to this book, you are hit with a twins worst nightmare. Abby losing her other half must now go on living her life. Actually, she's trying to live her twin sisters life for her parents. Fortunately for her she has a wild child BFF who drags her kicking and screaming out for a good time. That good times name happens to be Evan. He to has his ghosts but above all will do anything and everything to protect the one he loves, Abby. From the beginning he knows more than she could even imagine, but the sparks fly and we just turn the pages waiting for the explosion. Oh what an explosion it is! I for one can not wait for the second book to be released! Kudos on your first novel, Kimberly Blalock.

Wow, His Angel was not what I expected at all. This book was Kimberly Blalock's debut novel and wow what a debut novel it was. It was a intriguing story filled with mystery, heartache, secondary characters and one hot alpha hero. His Angel did start out slow in the beginning but then it picked up in the middle and left you wanting more.
Abby is having a hard time dealing with her sister's death. They both were in a accident when they were teenagers. It left Abby in turmoil and pain. Abby meets Evan who is a mystery itself for he has secrets of his own.
His Angel was a great debut novel that I overly enjoyed reading. I really liked the mystery and intriguing story of Abby and Evan. Can't wait to read the 2nd book.

His Angel had my emotions all tied up. Abby suffers from survivor’s guilt after her sister dies in a car accident. It was her twin sister. Years later, she is still not able to get over the grief. Her boyfriend has gone out of the country on “family business” over 2 months ago and that is not helping her stress level. Then her friend introduces her to Evan and the fireworks start.

Wow!! This wasn’t what I expected at all… As it’s was a little slow at the beginning, reading little as often then putting it down, then picked it up when I was more in the right frame of mind… Its soon got way better, to the point I couldn't put it down…
To those who know me I don’t do spoilers and wont ever start!! I like going into a book blind so to speak… And let the story flow, I really got into it after a slow start.

Abby has suffered love and loss, which has cause her to put up walls , she wants to break free and live life her way for what she wants without the guilt, and with her best friend Amy giving the push, she might be able to do it. Amy is head strong spit fire, we all need an Amy in our lives. well than there Ethan oh Ethan, Ethan, he is sex on a stick. He truly cares and lives Abby, but will the demons of the past ruin their future. I truly loved this book it had everything love, heart ach, drama, suspense, sex. it was truly amazing can't wait for the next one.

Let's see where do I begin. For this to be a debut novel for Kimberly it is a great start. The writing is great and the story line is good and the development of the characters are good. My only complaint is that it drags to much and it doesn't make sense in a few places in the first half of the story. It picks up half way thru and pulls you in and makes you want to read more. I love Evan and Abby together. His fierce love and his need to protect her at all cost will make you swoon. I'm looking forward to book two to find out what happens next in this story to see if justice is served and if love conquers all things.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review...
At the beginning I tried to stay positive and really dive in...the flow is a bit off at first and it was a bit slow connecting to these characters
and if I'm being completely honest ..when she gets a mysterious text and ignores it ...I found that strange?
But I'm glad I stuck with it cause it turned out to be a great story ...The backstory for these charters is developed well and The storyline is a good one and towards to middle of the book it really picks up ..I can see potential for more great books to come from this author...It's a good first debut novel.

Wow, Wow, Wow, I can not believe I got this book for free. Once I started reading it there was no way I could put it down. This is Kimberly Blalock Debut novel, and let me just say it was fantastic. This story is so well written. The plot, the characters, everything, is smooth flowing and keeps you in suspense.
The ending leaves you wanting more.
Love it, this is a definite must read..

I just finished this book and I loved it. I want to know what happens. I fell in love with Evan.I laughed and cried and loved in this book. I can't wait to read more from this author! Thank you Kimberly for giving me the opportunity to read this book early!

His Angel is the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review so here goes.
This book is a bit of an enigma, I’ve just finished it and to be honest I’m still not entirely sure what the hell just happened.
So much happens and there is an incredibly complicated plot that twists and weaves through the book. This is not a story you can dip in and out of it’s a sit down with a blanket and a bottle of wine and plow straight through start to finish. Mainly because if you blink you could miss an incredibly important plot point that is drip fed to us slowly. I’m cautioning because if you do miss something the rest of the plot won’t make any sense.
Abby is a broken, mixed up mess!!!! She’s obviously suffering from depression and the poor girl really needed a hug. I will be honest her character is completely one dimensional until she first meets Evan. One she sets eyes on him her character literally inflates and materialises into a witty, enigmatic girl.
She still has moments when she’s a whiny annoying pain in the butt lol
Now Evan is a walking, talking fantasy he’s big, alpha, sexy and probably as messed up as Abby is but in a different way.
This is going to be incredibly difficult without revealing any spoilers so sorry if this is vague.
No one is who they appear and nothing is a coincident in this book, at times I was super confused but in the end it all makes sense... sort of!!
Evan is definitely a split personality but whoever he is he is obsessively in love with Abby. I mean the guy worships the ground she walks on. And I think we would all be surprised what kind of sins we would forgive for that kind of love and devotion!!
This story will keep you intrigued till the last page!!!
The plot is left wide open for the next book in the series and I genuinely have no idea what will happen!!
