I got this book initially to see what it would take to build a strip kayak and can say this is a good reference book for general information on boat building but didn’t really scratch the itch I had. A future reference for me.
I appreciated the author's zeal to get you to build something that floats regardless of your skill or situation but there was just not enough put into these designs. The authors constant stream of self-depreciating comments regarding his lack of skill in building started to become self evident. This was the first book I picked up when starting to think about building a boat, and it definitely got me excited but I quickly left it behind when I discovered H.H. Payson.
