For thousands of years, the people of the sky and the people of the land lived separated. With a single leap from a sky-city, Rohui has changed his world forever.
He's seeking the reality behind an old legend of a sleeping demon as a last-ditch effort to stop the Faemor, a conspiracy bent on hijacking minds. To find the demon, he'll have to enlist the help of a motley band of land-dwellers.
But trouble seems to follow Rohui everywhere he goes. Will his search give the Faemor exactly what they need to take over the minds of everyone, both on the land and in the sky?
Journey with Rohui and his companions through a quirky science-fantasy world full of adventure and intrigue, where not everything is as it seems, and it's important to know who your real friends are.
Aww this was so much fun!! I loved the diverse cast, culture, and even speaking patterns (I don't know why but I love fraa's way of speaking)!! It was nice not having romance in a book for once. Refreshing. The overall story was so unique, it was so cool! The only complaint I had was that it's a little slow but who cares about that:p overall I thoroughly enjoyed Skydwellers and will definitely be reading more of TK's books in the future! (Can't wait for the Thunder Girl audiobook narrated by Benjamin Fife!!)
*4.5 ~I'd like to thank the awesome author for sending me a free copy in exchange for my honest review!~ This was actually better than I expected. Skydwellers starts with our two main characters meeting (around the second chapter). It's nice that, unlike some, this story doesn't dive straight into the quest, that way we're able to get to know the characters better, which I enjoyed. Then there's what I'd call the "pre-quest" period, where they do things like gathering supplies, adventure-buddies, and intel for their mission. I few cool plot twists happen here, and things start to get exciting! Then, there's the quest and the grand finale. I feel like the quest itself was a tad too easy, but hey, it's better to be too short than too long, right? XD The grand finale was awesome though, I loved it! There were lots of plot twists, and everything got nicely wrapped up at the end too. In conclusion, this was a great sci-fi, I definitely recommend it (yes, even for all you who aren't huge sci-fi fans!) and can't wait to read more by this author! ~Full Review To Come~
Skydwellers is a good first outing by the author! It features a very interesting world that you'll want to explore, and seen through the eyes of a charming and varied cast. The pacing is a bit on the slow side, but time and care is taken to describe every step of the journey. The author has a wonderful skill for describing scenery! If you want a relaxing but still interesting adventure, I recommend this book. Its sequel, Earthkeepers, is out, and I'm excited to read that now!
T.K. Arispe brings us an exciting science fantasy adventure with Skydwellers! Skydweller Rohui breaks the eons of separation between the people of the sky and of the land as he goes in search of a group who can help him stop the Faemor, a conspiracy bent on controlling the minds of all people. Arispe’s world is fresh and exciting, and I loved the blend of fantasy and sci fi! The characters are really fun too, which really drew me into the quest of this one. If you love fantasy with plenty of action, wit, and great characters all set against the backdrop of a unique world, definitely come take the leap into the sky with Skydwellers!
