Scott Bradford was a stickler for the rules, and he had two in which he abided by most: 1) Never get involved with an employee 2) Never let your emotions run you He stayed that course, working hard and playing even harder, until Abbey Lawson waltzed into his company and his life. She changed everything, including the things he was determined to keep locked away, especially his heart.
Abbey Lawson: thirty-seven, divorced, and brokenhearted. After accepting that she was alone in life, she decided she was going to live life on her own terms - free, wild, and open to adventure. But she had never expected all those things to walk right into her life in the form of her sexy, arrogant boss, Scott Bradford.
Their chemistry was instantaneous and their want for each couldn't be denied. But Abbey's heart wanted more than a casual fling and was threatening to destroy everything Scott had carefully planned for them. He didn't do relationships, but his heart was begging him to give this one a shot.
However, deceit and lies from Scott's past threatened to end the one thing they both realized they couldn't live without.
If I had known it was another serial romance, I wouldn't have bought it. I don't read serials novels especially if the book has not a good HEA AND a cliffhanger. I also don't like cliffhangers. So sorry for the author but I won't read the next part (or parts?. Plus the book is written at the first person. I have never been fond of the writing at the first person, and I have the feeling that too much romance authors use this writing style. I'm beginning to feel that I can't stand that anymore. Plus, the book lacks a proofreading. Take care with the next book.
Wow I'm just stun. I love when I find a book and it's just a good read all around. Great story. Abbey second chance at love might not be all sunshine and roses. Scott is definitely hiding something serious and I can't wait to find out. And hopefully with that find out what Robin is hiding as well!!
I enjoyed reading this book and it definitely kept my attention. I'm rating it 4 out of 5 because of the the lack of clarity. Perhaps that was the author's way of making for the intrigue development. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series for a better understanding.
There were a lot of them not to mention a lot of missing words in phrases. I hate that you made Abby so weak. I prefer strong ,independent heroin's . I'd give it 3 1/2 stars
I loved Pulling Me Close until the very end when I read "To Be Continued". I yelled at my screen because I couldn't believe it ended with the way it did. Part two needs to be released soon because I want to know what Lance is up to and who is his partner in crime.
Pulling Me Close is Abbey and Scott's story. Abbey is recently divorced and she's got self-esteem issues as a result. Scott has a secret in his past that makes him a commitment phobe. There is definite chemistry between the two and the sex is scorching hot. Scott's alpha tendencies actually help Abbey heal. While they both went into their casual sex relationship with eyes wide open, both got more out of the relationship than really good sex.
As previously mentioned, the epilogue alludes to another plot that may or may not be linked to the secrets Scott is keeping. I'm waiting with bated breathe for book two because inquiring minds want to know.
I immediately identified with Ms. Kelley's main character, Abbey. She's a great Little Red Riding Hood to the male lead, Scott, who is most certainly the Big Bad Wolf. The author does a fine job with dialogue and putting the reader at the scene. All those good things being said---I felt a bit teased when the book ended without an ending! So, I am waiting for the next installment, Ms. Kelley.
