Reese Knightley spends her time creating stories from the characters rattling around in her head. Her love of reading mystery, action and adventure, and fantasy books led to her love of writing. Reese works as a full time writer. She loves to hear from her readers.
This is one of the better books in this interconnected series of a bajillion different groups of covert black ops teams bring run by the now supposedly retired SecDef.
It's also a kind of wrapping up of the trafficking story that's been running through each of the different assassins group's series' for a while.
And it's finally the book where Stone gets his MSN!
Dave Ladd Allen III, former Secretary of Defense, has built his life on discipline, control, and loyalty. But when a ruthless conspiracy tied to untouchable predators threatens everything he’s fought for, his world begins to unravel. At his side is Stone Michaelson — his most trusted soldier, his fiercest ally, and the man who has always been more than just a comrade. Their bond, forged in fire and sacrifice, now teeters on the edge of becoming something deeper, even as danger closes in. For Stone, Dave isn’t just a commander — he’s the reason to fight, the heart behind every mission. Together, they must battle enemies, betrayal, and their own unspoken truths. In a war where bullets may fail, power, loyalty, and love become their sharpest weapons.
I loved this story which blended explosive action with emotional depth, proving that in the harshest battles, love can be the most unbreakable armour. I loved the way that the story showed that love is both dangerous (making them vulnerable) and redemptive (giving them purpose). I also loved that the story explored how redemption is not about erasing the past but transforming it into a foundation for a future together. It was also great to see that the story showed that strength emerges when power and vulnerability are embraced together — when Dave admitted his feelings, and Stone risked everything to stand by him. There were a lot of deep emotions and feelings in this story which had as much attention as the plots and fighting. This was an MM story with mature content.
Former Secretary of Defense Dave Ladd Allen III was a warrior first of all. Tasked by the President to put together and run various groups of former special operations soldier as well as several different groups of assassins to operate in the Black where regular Army and law enforcement can’t. Dave was Stone Michaelson’s commander, and he followed Dave into the shadow world, always standing as his rock. Throughout all of Reese Knightley’s many series, we have always seen Dave running things in the background with Stone never far away, always yearning for each other, never letting it out. Every RK reader has been waiting a long time for this story, for Dave and Stone to finally give in, retire, and put themselves first. And she did not disappoint. Gravity of full of all the action you would expect, of the cumulation of an operation against a pedophile and trafficker, of mistaken identities, of every entity under Dave’s command coming together to put a stop to this reign of terror. But most of all it is a love story years in the making. And while Dave will no longer be the tip of the President’s spear, I am sure we will see he and Stone in future novels. I would give it many more stars if I could, I think I'll go back and read it again.
Dave Allen the former SecDef has been on the scene since the beginning. He’s led groups so classier they don’t exist on paper. At his side through it all is Stone. The two have featured heavily in so many books. There have been glimpses of the relationship between them from the beginning. However, they are finally getting a story dedicated to them. In holding to the same theme as all the intertwined series theres a lot of danger and action. In their story we learn more about both men and their ability to lead teams. When their personal struggles bleed into their mission trouble ensues. With the help of the various teams they finally put an end to an arch nemesis. But the cost to them personally and professionally could end them both. Join Dave, Stone and the rest of the team on their latest mission.
Dave was the secretary of defense with retirement staring him down. He also ran elite assassin groups for the government. Stone was a soldier who would follow Dave anywhere. Along the way stone fell for the older gentleman but Dave had so many walls he wasn’t sure he would ever knock them down. Dave kept those walls up because he thought he was protecting stone.
When an old flame comes back to town to work with stone, Dave realizes he doesn’t want to keep stone at arms length anymore. When the enemy is barreling down on them stone doesn’t want Dave in harms way but Dave refuses to stay behind. This causes a rift between them. There are missions that need to be finished but in the end stone will move heaven and earth to keep Dave safe and they will together get their happy ever after.

As always. it is a pleasure to read about strong men who live to fight another day of human trafficking.
Dave has loved Stone throughout the years but wasn’t ready to admit his love for him.. Stone left a relationship because he knew Dave was the love of his life. He protected him and always knew where Dave was even when Dave’s assistant tried to come between them. Dave and Stone were destined to be together, even when Dave felt he had the weight of the missions on his shoulders. Stone was there to ensure that he was safe. Retirement came finally for Dave, but Stone also knew he wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Loved the story and I recommend reading this book.
I was sooooo excited to read this one as it features Dave and Stone. Dave has been fighting his attraction to Stone for years but with this new mission, he is starting to rethink his position. He has been Commander for his different groups for years. Stone has been by side side for years, but for Dave’s assistant putting words in his ear. As they try to figure out their latest mission with Titus, they realize that their intel was wrong. This was an action packed boom with the teams working together to bring down the baddie. Great world building, heat and chemistry between the MCs. Cannot wait to read the next one in this series.
Am I going crazy. The last 3 books released feel like they came from a completely different writer. The story cadence is different, the writing style is different. The amount of repetition in this book is crazy. Dave and Stones story has been highly anticipated, and while the story was good, it wasn’t great. I have read every book in this “universe” so I will still read Vipers story to continue on. But I’m a bit bummed with how much things have changed.
Finally it's time for Dave and Stone's book. They have been circling each other for years. The former Sec Def and the former Erebus Assassin. Can they get past the walls, distance and duty that keeps them apart? Or will Gravity pull them together? All while hunting another mayor bad guy? Read the book and find out!
Gravity is the second book in the Genesis-Savage Warriors series, and I suggest reading in order. I feel like I have been waiting YEARS for this, Stone and Dave get their HEA. We have seen these two dancing around each other throughout the other series and I was happy to see through this action filled book, we see them get together.
What an amazing story this is and everyone who reads Reese's books will enjoy Stone and Dave's long awaited and amazing book. I love all the guys and I also love how they intermingle with other books. Reese Knightley's book are an instant buy for me and I highly recommend any of her books. 10 Stars
I was so happy that Dave and Stone finally got together but was irritated with Dave for shutting him out for so long. Admit that I was glad that Clinton got what he deserved. Really looking forward to reading about Viper and Titus.
I really enjoyed Gravity. I have liked most of the books in these series. I am partial to the ones who have men at least in their 20’s and not 18 year olds with older men. I am excited for the next book.
I love book. I love the characters and storyline. IloveReese Knightley. I love all of the authors books and highly recommend this book and all the other books.
Dave and Stone's story. The two centerpoints to all of Knightley's stories finally get their ending. What a wonderful, MUCH DESERVED end for these two men.
