He was betrothed to the wrong sister

General Zahn was pleased that Emperor Blaze thought enough of him to arrange a marriage to his adopted daughter, London. Even though he really didn't feel anything for her, it was his duty to the crown. But London did not feel that way. She wasn't a piece of meat to be bartered. She ran away the first chance she got.

Using the DNA tracker, he thought he had found her. Gen. Zahn didn't understand the feeling he was having for his intended. She tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen. Zahn had his own method of punishing that made Paris not able to explain her situation. When she did, Zahn was ashamed of his behavior, but he knew deep down he couldn't marry London, not after being with Paris. Paris couldn't think of a future without Zahn. At least now Paris gets to see her long-lost mother, the Queen Calliope.

I really didn't care for this trope. The story ended too abruptly. Too much was left unsettled for me.

Not for me!

I was excited to read this story but became annoyed when I realized it was the heroine's twin daughter from the first book. The twin that was left behind. I don't understand how or why they (Emperor and Callie) believed Paris dead when she was in foster care all this time. Meanwhile, Callie has gone on to have 6 more kids and seemingly unbothered by her daughter’s death... This took away all the enjoyment because from the way the last book ended, I'd hoped Callie would do whatever it took to Reunite with her daughter but she didn't. She moved on and continued to F her new man and make him babies.

Good story

I am enjoying the continuity of the series. The characters are interesting and the spice level is good. The story is short so the romance comes quick after some dubious consent and a mistaken identity. I think if the book had been a little bit longer it would have been better. I still have some questions but will read the next one and hopefully get them answered.
