Terrific bully romance with a twist!

I love Bully romances because there is always so much going on in them. This is a classic example of that type of romance because it contains an alpha male character that is tall muscular and sexy but also broody and mean at times, that character is Aiden. Our hero in the standard bully romance is always surrounded by a small entourage of like minded individuals that take their cues from the Hero. We also have a heroine, Amelia that is constantly bullied, but is not afraid to stand up for herself.

Confident that my point was made and this jerk face was properly put in his place, I spin on my heel so my hair hits him on the shoulder and walk through the parting crowd, leaving him steaming.
“Oh my God, she so told you, Aiden! That was hilarious!” one of his gorgeous friends says through bursts of laughter.

The great thing about a lot of these books is that even though the Hero bullies the heroine, at some point they develop feelings for each other and he stops. Another thing I like is that there is usually another person willing and able to take up that bullying torch when our Hero puts it on the shelf. Whether that person is a former girlfriend of the Hero, the ex boyfriend of the heroine, some other character that was somehow rejected, or just someone with a grudge, the bullying often goes on.

I thought this book was a great example of the bully sub genre. I enjoyed it so much I couldn’t put it down and read it through in one sitting without breaks. There were some great secrets that both Aiden and Amelia are holding. And the reader finds them out gradually. Those secrets involve some sinister storylines which were really very good. I won’t spoil them but to say I liked how so much was going on and the storylines were well thought out and entertaining.

The characters were well developed and integrated nicely with the storylines. There were many different settings that were thoroughly described and it was a slow burn romance and very sweet. Though it is a young adult book where the majority of the characters are in high school, the book deals with some adult situations and may have some triggers for some people, such as fighting, violence against women, and abuse.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Obviously I'm rating this 5 stars lol! I worked really hard on this book, and I edited the sh*t out of it to get it ready from the first draft I posted on Wattpad to this published version (not just grammar, but structural edits, rewrites, rearranged chapters, added scenes, etc). I never would've gotten here without you all reading this book and cheering me on, which is why the story is dedicated to you. Thank you so much for following me on this journey and I hope you enjoy Amelia and Aiden's story <3

Oh my good lord this was bad. The characters are ones you've seen a thousand times but you think that would mean they are enjoyable, every boy the main character meets is so cute and every boy that isn't Noah is a Greek god. Not Noah the annoying comic relief though because he's Asian.

The usual happens, MC moves to new town, MC runs into hunky boys, that are for some reason exclusively 6'2+, MC doesn't get along with the main hunky boy, MC goes to party and gets assaulted by faceless villain(s), MC is rescued by Main Hunk. Main hunk has a fling girl that is a barbie and she hates the MC.

Something that was good about this book, mmm I liked the idea of the MC's back story but it was... Thin I'll say. The main villain, well the one that isn't barbie, the whole conflict with him kinda makes sense but then you go into how that would workout with the police and it's just not logical.

I only read it because it won talk of the town frankly.

Unneeded things happen a lot. Example a chapter that was just the main character whining about Noah eating her neutella sandwich.

I don't like the use of the word Slut. It was thrown around a lot. But it was only okay when the MC was the one using it to insult other girls, double standard please stop.

Finally this isn't even about the story per-say but the author has a FAQ chapter in which she states that since she,her friends and her followers like the story it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. It's good to be positive but please there is a difference between hate that is just hate and someone showing the flaws in your work so you can in prove. You'll never grow of you're only surrounded by people that think your work is heaven on earth with no faults.

Anyone reading this just please keep that in mind okay

First off, let's talk about how this novel is one HECK of a slow burn! I love slow burn romances and this story definitely was one. It was so slow that initially, I thought I was imagining a romance that wasn't even there.

This novel seemed to be different compared to a lot of other YA/NA novels that I read. I think it actually was the first novel that I've read that includes illegal racing and surprisingly enough, I loved that part of the story. It actually reminded me of "Fast and the Furious" (in the best way).

Along with the romance, this novel really excelled at showing a strong friend group. The loyalty between them all made the friendships that much more powerful and contributed to my overall enjoyment of the story. Hey, I'm a sucker for loyal and strong friendships.

This was such an easy novel to fly through and it left me wanting MORE! Seriously, talk about one heck of a painful ending. I cannot wait for the next novel in this series to be published!

Sometimes when the mood strikes, I go on Wattpad and read some YA stories. Anyone else who does this? 😂

Well, this particular story here is actually getting published in a few days and I got an ARC for the revised version, so a massive thanks to Smith Publicity Inc. and Netgalley for providing me with this copy!

Now how do I say this without sounding a bit "offensive"?
For a Wattpad story, this was actually pretty good!
It's definitely not for everyone though. This book is all about the "breathtaking" and "gorgeous" guy. Then, the overall voice of the book is a bit "juvenile", the heroine says things like "Of course I don't L word Aidan [...]" and the story has a lot of petty and cliché high school drama going on (= prank war with queen B) that went on too long imo, but you know what? Despite its issues, the story was quite addicting. It flowed very well and was easy to read.

I liked both MCs even though I had my doubts about Aidan because he didn't leave a very good first impression but I learned to love him. Then, Amelia was already interesting enough from the blurb alone (she's on the run and assumed a fake identity with the help of the FEDs), but the fact that she was fierce and a doer made me like her all the more. There's also the friendship in this book that has to be my favorite aspect of the story. Amelia found herself a tight-knit circle of friends (even though she wasn't supposed to) who were so much fun but were always there for her when it counted.

All in all, if you don't mind Wattpad (I'm saying/stressing this because I saw a lot of opposers on social media in the past) and are in the mood for some light reading, this could be it for you!

PS: Cliffhanger ending!

Neither the cover nor the title has nothing to do with the story. Firstly there's a mysterious part of the girl that you should get curious about but you don't at all. Secondly the relationship between the two main characters it takes forever to progress which irritates the hell out of you. Thirdly the story is unbelievably boring and you'll be cringing and rolling your eyes all the time. And most of all the plot is rubbish, I mean the book doesn't have a decent end as if the writer stopped in the middle. And you would think it's an adult fiction but it's not. If you value your time and money do not read this book. Such a waste of paper.

With me.

I received this book for free from in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. While scrolling through all the available ARCs on Netgalley, I came across this gem. I was hesitant at first as this is a debut novel and it is YA. The description really pulled me in, but there were a few more reasons why this captured my attention. This has been on Wattpad and manage to score over 100 million reads. It actually won a Watty award for Best Teen Fiction. Impressive, right? I thought so.

That description, though, was what captured my interest right off. It was giving me Penelope Douglas vibes - think Bully. It was also being compared, when I first picked it up, to the movie The Client. That was one of my favorite 90s movies, so I was intrigued to see what the correlation would be.

Amelia, the new girl in school, bumps into the school's bad boy, Aiden Parker. She becomes the talk of the school, something she is trying to avoid, when she puts him in his place for being a jerk. You see, Amelia has a past she's running from. Attention puts her at risk of being found. Getting mixed up with the notorious Aiden Parker isn't flying under the radar. But Aiden has demons of his own. Demons that set him apart from your average teenager. Are they the perfect match or the worst?

I'm going to toot my own horn and say that I was correct with all my assumptions. It did really give me Bully vibes as Aiden reminds me a lot of Jared. They also have similar hobbies. *hint-hint* Now that I've read it, why it was being compared to The Client. Although, I can also see why it isn't being marketed that way any longer because there is only ONE major plot point that relates to the movie. Nothing else. However, maybe they should have kept that comparison because it was one of my selling points.

A word of caution - this does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. If that bothers you, you may want to wait until the next installment is available before diving in. And, trust me, you'll want to dive in.

My final thoughts? It is a really enjoyable read. I highly recommend it to those who love a over-the-top high school romance with a dash of suspense and very low steam.

A special thanks to Netgalley and Wattpad Books for providing me with an advanced readers copy for review! xxThis review was originally posted on Sincerely, Whitney

Bueno, you know what i mean.

100% RECOMENDADO

ATTN: I’d also like to mention again that I rate books based on their genre, so this rating is compared to other books IN THE SAME GENRE!! (So in this case vs other YA romances)

Like 2.6, but I can’t give it a 3.

There was too much going on, but also it was a little too slow all at the same time?? There was so much stuffed in the final 30 pages, so many open storylines and unanswered questions. I understand that this is part of a trilogy, but a few loose ends could have been tied up.

There is plenty of the “forced proximity” trope in this one. So if that’s your jam, something to keep in mind. Instead of just the brooding bad boy, there was a mild bully romance trope in this one and that’s just not my personal favourite.

The amount of characters made it difficult to develop any of their storylines. I wanted to learn more about them, but there wasn’t enough time to get to genuinely learn about them.

It was still a quick read and it had a few interesting storylines to peak my interest, but I don’t feel like it measures up to the Sarah Dessen or the Katie Cotugno or the Jenny Han books, which are within the same genre!

Sadly, I don’t think I will be continuing this series.

This is one of the first books I read when I signed up for Wattpad. I religiously followed along, patiently waiting for the updates as the series progressed. I absolutely loved this book and the sequels and in some ways, Jess inspired my own writing journey.

I used to look at the fandom she’d created and the love people had for her characters. I would admire and think about how wonderful it would be to achieve that. Three years later, Jess is someone I can call a friend and it is SURREAL. She’s the sweetest author ever and deserves all the good things in the world.

The story of Aiden and Amelia will forever be one of my all time favourites. Thank you for these characters Jess !

How glad am I that I've read this books and even happy that this is finally published! It is truly a beautiful book that promotes friendship and great squad times, cute relationships and amazing characters! Packed with action, emotions, love, hate and COMEDY!

I have a special place for Wattpad book but this one is a true treasure! I am even happier that I have already read this series on Wattpad so even when this book ended up in a huge cliff hanger I know what happened next, still waiting for the published book !

Despite my love for this book I hate this book cover I really really wish it wouldn't be what it is right not

A new town, a new love, another chance to stay alive. Arriving in another new town, Amelia Collins vows to fit in and finish her senior year drama free. There can’t be any mistakes. Staying under the radar is what keeps Amelia one step ahead of the man who is trying to find and destroy her. But when she’s befriended by a group of students who make her feel safe and loved, Amelia struggles to maintain her distance, especially when faced with her feelings for Aiden Parker, who weaken her resolve. When Aiden’s ex-girlfriend threatens Amelia in ways that make her easy to find, she has to act quickly. Feeling crushed by her desire for a normal life and not wanting to leave her friends behind, Amelia has an impossible choice. What will Amelia pick survival or the chance at real love?

This is my favourite Wattpad trilogy made into paperback books! I reread this at least every two years so I will be writing a proper review with quotes the next time I do.

♥️She’s with me, okazała się być niesamowicie świetną książką!

Przyjemna i lekka!

I was given a free copy of this book by the author. This in no way affects my opinion. I try to express only my most honest opinion in a spoiler-free way. If you feel anything in my review is a spoiler and is not already hidden in spoiler brackets please let me know. Thank you.

I'm giving this book a 4 star because I really enjoyed the story, but I didn't feel the drive to read it as much as I would have expected. And what's with the cover? I don't know about anyone else, but it looks like two girls on the cover, and this is not an LGBT romance. I wouldn't care either way as I love all forms of romance books, but still, it's confusing.

I love the close connection that all the friends in this book have. I love the characters and how they all have such different personalities. Even the 'mean girl' in the story is unique in the fact that she is completely crazy lol. I love the romance in the story of course, but I also like that there was a hint of a love triangle without it going full-on angsty. I'm all for a good love triangle, but it has to be done right.

Few things I didn't like. There where some parts that made me roll my eyes. Some of the dialogue was not really believable to me, and although I'm all for having a fighting spirit. She was big on antagonizing others until she finally wised up about that. And the whole reason that she was in witness protection feels wrong. I know its possible as people do awful things for no reason. But the fact that this Tony would blame her doesn't make any sense at all.

The book ended on a HUGE cliffhanger and left so many things unresolved. I have to have more and plan to continue the series cause I have to know what happens next.

How I choose my rating:
1* Hated it. I had to force myself to finish it.
2** Didn't like it. I didn't hate it but not sure why I finished it other than for some closure.
3*** I liked it. I had some issues with it, but as a whole it was good. I probably won't reread ever, but there is a chance I might finish the series. (If part of one) But if not it's not a huge loss.
4**** I really liked this book. Maybe not a work of genius, but highly entertaining. I might reread this, and I will finish the series. (If part of one) I would recommend to those I know hold interest in this book's content.
5***** I loved this book. I found little to no issues with it at all. I will be rereading this and probably more than once. I will finish the series and reread it multiple times. (If part of one) I will recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!!
