Jax
It was supposed to be an easy keep an eye on Myles until I’m sure he’s not a threat to us, then forget he exists and go back to living my life.

But there’s something different about him. Something that speaks to my dark side and turns an easy job into an obsession. I want things from him I’ve never wanted before, and the more I watch him, the more I’m sure he wants them too.

He just doesn’t want to want them.

Myles might have started out as a job, but he’s the only person who’s ever made me feel anything, and once I set my sights on him, I'll do whatever it takes to make him mine.

Ready or not, here I come.

Hide and Seek is the second book in a new dark romance series set at an elite, invite-only college, and is stranger/stalker to lovers story between an introverted hacker and the frat boy who awakens his darker side. You can stalking, strangers to lovers, opposites attract, first times, some forced proximity, hurt/comfort, lots of primal play, mild CNC, outdoor and public fun, a protective MC, morally ambiguous heroes, not-so-secret societies, and lots of spicy times that will melt your kindle screens as these two opposites realize that sometimes the last person you should want is the one person you need.

What can I say about myself? It’s kind of like being the new kid in school and being asked to tell everyone a bit about yourself. Anyone else forget everything they’ve ever liked, thought of, and even their name in those moments?

A few facts about me; I’m a veteran, I’m Canadian, and I love books! I’ve been writing my own stories since I was eight and wrote my first novel at sixteen. I’m the first to admit those attempts weren’t my best work, but they started me on a journey of creating stories that has led me to fulfilling my dream of becoming an author. I’ve written and published in several genres under different names, but MM is by far my favorite, and I’m so happy to be able to share my stories with people today.

I currently live on Canada’s east coast with my kiddo and my cats. I have a shoe collecting addiction, and I enjoy taking long walks, discussions with friends, and reading anything and everything I can get my hands on.

“So were you off watching your favorite show?” Xave asks me. “What?” I shoot him a confused look. “The hacker kid show. I heard you never miss an episode.”

THE FUCKING THRILL OF IT!!!

Damn I love me a good anonymous dynamic. Because for way more than half the book Myles has no idea who the hooded stranger is who not only keeps surveillance on him and plays games with him (like hide and seek in the darkened woods) but who he ultimately even gets down and dirty with.

But damn, the moment he finally reveals himself will forever live rent free in my head.

“You know who I am,” he tells me in a soft tone I like way too much. “I know you do.”
My breath hitches as he takes a step closer to me.
“Say it.” Another step. “Say my name.”

💀

So, what is it then, that I didn’t like about this when the thrilling romance between Jax and Myles was pretty much everything?? Well, shit I’d say was unnecessary, like Myles randomly having neglectful parents or Jax having a psycho diagnoses. I don’t think either of it was enhancing anything. Second, the whole mystery surrounding Myles being in danger was not explored deeply enough for me to make any real sense. And third, same as in the first book, everything about that seemingly secret society stuff and frat business that even involves the legacies’ parents remained as vague as before. I think the author just made up this nebulous narrative so there would be a standard explanation for the frat guys to be as dark and dangerous and skilled as needed.

Anyhow. I’m not less hooked by this series as before so I’m dying to get my hands on the next installment.

if i had to give this an objective rating, it would be 3 stars. however, i enjoyed it, so i think it deserves an extra one.

this book biggest issue is that it needed a heavy developmental edit. and i mean really heavy. the characters officially meet way too late in the book, and they just don’t spend enough time together to establish a meaningful connection.
the twins’ diagnosis doesn’t make sense unfortunately. should’ve been done way better.
and the ending is a definitely too abrupt for my liking.

all in all, i really felt the author’s hunger in that first book, which wasn’t present here.
it’s a shame, because with a developmental editing (and making the characters meet earlier and developing the ending more) this one would’ve easily gotten 5 stars like the first one.

it’s still incredibly hot, and even if it’s on the longer side, it never gets boring.

however, i’m still incredibly excited for the next one. fingers crossed that it feels more like book 1 than 2.

Hide and Seek is an exciting game of cat and mouse between hacker loner Myles and frat boy stalker Jax. This story is full of surprises and thrilling moments between these two characters. I also appreciate how both Myles and Jax are more than they appear to be. Myles has a haunting past that still affects him today, while Jax is the muscle of the group, tasked with uncovering all of Myles' secrets. To his surprise, he finds himself enamored with the shy loner. With explosive chemistry and a strong primal kink, this story keeps you captivated, curious, and drawn to their unorthodox love story that is unpredictable, daring, and sometimes shocking.

Overall, I enjoyed this exciting romance between Myles and Jax. I like how they kept their distance from each other for most of the story, but because of their strong connection, when they do finally interact, it's thrilling and risky. Myles and Jax make a fun pair, and I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

Hide & Seek is book two in the Silvercrest U series. This MM stranger/stalker to lovers dark romance story is about Jax and Myles.

We first met Jax and his twin brother Jace in book one, Wicked Games. They attend the elite, invite-only college of Silvercrest U and are in one of the not-so-secret societies. Myles was also mentioned in book one when Killian and the twins were trying figure out his involvement with the job on Felix. In this second book, Jax’s job is to watch Myles to make sure he isn’t a threat to them.

But once Jax starts to take interest in Myles more than he should, we see how his stalking turns into an obsession. Myles is the only person that has made Jax feel anything. Myles is a nerdy, introverted hacker. He is smart enough to figure out he is being watched, and since no one really pays attention to him, he finds it thrilling and makes him feel like he matters. Myles doesn’t know who is watching him, but this doesn’t stop him from engaging in games with Jax, one being X-rated Hide & Seek. Myles doesn’t want to want his stalker, but he just couldn’t help but give into things he had only ever fantasized. Things definitely got spicy between these two.

While Jax and Jace are still trying to figure out how Myles got mixed up with what happened to Felix, they are also trying to understand why Myles is in danger and his life is being threatened. The suspense and twists were great and had me invested in this story. I loved how protective Jax and his family were of each other and now of Myles too.

I will say I was a little surprised with how long Jax waited to finally reveal his identity to Myles, but it worked for them. I did love how they challenged each other, and Jax and Myles ended up being the perfect match. This story was very entertaining and I definitely look forward to more from this series.

I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.

The first book was SO GOOD but this one let me down so bad. Omg this was sooooo boring. I can’t believe it’s from the same author from wicked games. Like what the hell.

1.There is NO PLOT AT ALL. They do nothing meaningful. Like nothing. Myles didn’t even seemed to be a hacker in this book. In book one he is part of the plot and is a bad ass hacker but in this book he got hacked by everybody, can’t find nothing to help himself and other caracthers have to figure out his bussines online because he can do nothing.

2. Myles himself is so boring like sooo boring. No depht. No personality. He just like to run in the forest and have a stalker. Come on.

3. The primal play. Its the main kink in this book (and I love primal play scenes) but there were SO MANY SCENES in the first 60% of the book to the point it got boring and repetitive.

4. No emotional connection into the relationship. They have zero chemistry. They just run and do primal play for 60% of the book without Myles even know who the stalker is. They barely even speak to each other and them Jax tell Myles his identidy and in minutes they are boyfriends with no emotional connection.

5. The frat drama was meaningless too.

Nothing worked in this book imo. I was so hyped but this was bad. 😢

Jax is 21. Myles is 18. They are at the same Elite college for the wealthy. Jax is old money, he is in a powerful secret society and he is a psychopath who relishes violence. He is a big man on campus, though it's a facade hiding who he really is. He is extremely close to his twin brother Jace. Myles is new money. He grew up without money, the child of two computer geniuses, who hit it rich fairly recently. He was raised with a Robin Hood mentality but his parents have turned into money hungry people now that they have money and they have become neglectful of him, and his two siblings are spoiled because they are younger and were raised in privilege. He is a genius hacker. He was kidnapped for ransom as a child and he's been blackmailed by someone who wanted his help to kill someone. He managed to warn the guy that was being targeted. But he's now on the radar of the secret society that Jax belongs to. The secret society suspects that Myles is a good guy and not a threat, but they are watching him.

Jax takes it a little too far. He is intrigued by Myles and he starts stalking him. And then stalking turns into encounters. They have some dark interests in common and start exploring primal play and consensual non-consent. They get in pretty deep with each other, though Jax isn't quite capable of love in the traditional sense. They have to deal with threats. And for the first 70% of the book, Myles has no idea who's under the hood, no idea who he's f******.

This was an enjoyable book. If you suspend disbelief it was quite a funny and smutty romp. I like how sassy Jace and Jax are. The friendship between the characters is nice. I liked how captivated Jacks was by Miles. You often hear an MMC say or think that their love interest is not like others, but in this case Myles really was something different, LOL. I liked the intelligence of the characters. It was a pretty fun use of kink.

There were some things that I didn't love. Myles was supposed to be so smart yet he was so dumb at times. It was hard to believe that he had no interest in finding out who his stalker was and who he was f******. He could have easily caught Jax especially with how often Jax went into Myles's dorm room. And if he was so smart then why did a bunch of people catch him off guard and best him? And Jax was a little over the top. I didn't like that Myles still had no idea who he was f****** until past the 70% mark. To me, he needed to know earlier to start actually building a relationship and feelings outside of the sex. And then all the sudden they were in love. I needed to see more relationship building.

Some notable moments:

"“I may or may not have intercepted a couple of packages that were supposed to be delivered to King House.” “Tampering with mail is a felony,” I say with a teasing smirk. “So is half the shit I did before lunch today.” He shrugs. “Felonies are like Pokémon at this point, and I gotta catch them all.”"

I like the Jax finds Myles so endearing "I switch my view to the camera on his desk so I can see him when he rolls onto his side and faces his computer. His happy sigh and the little smile tilting his lips as he snuggles into his pillow are weirdly endearing, and I find myself smiling at my phone screen as he curls up and lets out another of those happy sighs. I wait a few minutes to make sure that he’s down for the night, then shut the feed off and put my phone on my bedside table. “Not getting invested, huh?” Jace says from across the room. “Shut up.”"

I love how sassy Jace and Jax are. "“You look like you can identify different brands of pepper spray by their taste,” the other twin says conversationally as he pops the bullets out of the rifle’s magazine one by one and collects them in his open palm. “But then again, I’m sure I’d have a giant chip on my shoulder and take my insecurities out on unarmed students too if I could fuck a Cheerio without breaking it.”"

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

At first I thought it was me. I really wanted to get into this book because it had some of my favorite tropes. But the first 60% of the book just dragged on for me. It got boring and I skimmed a lot. And then I loved the rest. It was like a different book. I have so many notes that don't really matter. The thing is, to me, it felt like this book needed editing and a few different writing decisions.
I hope to read it again some day and feel differently.

I’m so sad to be rating this so low but I really just didn’t love it

I feel like the MCs didn’t even talk to each other

I’ve never been a fan of the cat mouse thing or whatever it’s called in this one

Everything started feeling repetitive and the times they were together I honestly skipped bc they were so boring and silent

I liked a lot of the ideas in this just not the execution, and I still love the relationship between Jax and Jace

This author has done it again.

This was damn near perfection.

I absolutely loved and was forced to put it down only when real life got in the way - such as sleep! - like I'm not sure if I loved Jax and Myles more than Killian and Felix or it's just that feeling of just having finished this and loving it just as much and still feeling that rush of this couple or what...maybe I loved these two just a tad more if ONLY because the sex scenes might have edged them out a tad.

NOT to say Killian and Felix's weren't hot AF, but Jax and Myles felt like a whole other level like HOLY SHIT were their scenes off the charts HOT 🥵🥵🥵

Like oh man sex scenes rarely make me FEEL something these days but these two had SEVERAL and I was going feral for these two. Like oh man I needed to fan myself after their sex scenes for sure!

This author has hit her stride with this more on the dark side romances, because this was top tier as far as this whole author's works. Like I've enjoyed and even loved her regular romances in the past, but...oh man have these two hit like crazy. Just firing on all cylinders.

The romance, the chemistry, the possessiveness, the plot, the characters, EVERYTHING, I just LOVED it to bits.

I wondered if this one would live up to the first one and it surpassed my expectations. If you loved the first one, you LOVE this one, perhaps even more. I think this might edge out the first story a tad but only the tiniest bit. I loved both of these couples.

Where Killian has a dark side to him and he can go to extremes, not every bad guy or technically bad person is a legitimate, diagnosable psychopath.

Well, Jax and Jace are.

But did I feel like it all that much? Nah. At least not when it came to Myles. I know 'psychopath' and 'sociopath' aren't legit medical terms and it's more complicated than those terms and antisocial personality disorder is more the correct term, but...psychopath and sociopath are the more widely known terms in society so it's easier for the everyday person such as myself to grasp that concept in those terms.

All that to say, Jax and Jace absolutely can and will kill and will do so without remorse or thought to it. Absolutely they are psychopaths.

But they have the capacity to love. Maybe not in a 'normal' way like a person without the disorder, and we can also debate about in reality if psychopaths can love or love in a 'normal' way, but we're in fiction and in fiction...well I fucking love Jax and it felt like he absolutely loved Myles, in my opinion.

He loves his brother, they're twins, they see each other as the other's other half, they love Killian and Xavier, their cousins, as well as Felix and Myles now too, so...they're a more complicated, not so black and white version of a psychopath. They have the capacity for love, or if not love, something very close to it. In my opinion it is love, even if it's different from how a normal person would feel and express it.

Jax is the one sent to watch Myles after everything with Felix to see if he had malicious intent or if he was somehow blackmailed into it - which he was - and so over the next weeks, then months, these two are a 'game' so to speak, and Jax becomes obsessed.

Myles himself loves the feeling of being stalked by this mystery man - it's a while before Jax reveals his identity to him - and as time goes on things escalate between them. Jax has a special hoodie that has some material that keeps it in place and doesn't just fly off when he moves or because of the wind, etc, so he's around Myles but he doesn't take the hoodie off in his presence for a long time.

But Myles, instead of being freaked out or scared - or well there's fear but it's mixed in with a ton of arousal - he's turned on and excited about it. He doesn't know who Jax is until almost 70% into the book and yet they fuck quite a few times before then. Jax knows who Myles is but Myles doesn't know who his mystery stalker is for a long while.

Everything about it should scare Myles to death, but it doesn't. Jax doesn't want to hurt him and he never does. Even this "psychopath" explicitly looks for consent from Myles and cares about his pleasure beyond his own.

Heed the warnings though, if you're worried. This does have some light CNC (I honestly feel it could have gone harder lol) and dubcon but not really in that they have these "hide and seek" games with each other in which Myles knows Jax is pursuing him, but he later asks Jax to not tell him when he is and to just...go for it.

That is explicit consent as far as I'm concerned, but others might feel it veers more into dub-con territory, as Myles doesn't know when and where Jax will sneak up on him and he doesn't know it's Jax for sure at first if his back is turned to him, and he struggles and has that fear response before he knows it's Jax.

So others might find that on the more dubious consent side, and the author warns for that and such, but it's more in the realm of CNC to me. Or consensual dubious consent in this instance. So it's up to you how you truly feel about it, but I personally feel it's all truly consensual because Myles explicitly told Jax he wanted it, even if he doesn't know when or where Jax will follow and "catch him" as it were.

But just take precautions going into this if those can be triggers for you. I don't feel it goes too far in that it all feels consensual, but these two boys are kinky AF with each other, that's for sure, and both have dark fantasies they love to play out with each other.

I'm definitely very excited for Jace and this apparent rival (turned lover of course) he has for the next book. We got one twin and now we need the next. And if it sticks this amazing quality of these first two books, it's going to be amazing.

Can't wait! 😍

Rating: ♾️/5 🌟
Spice: 3.5/5 🌶️
Characters: Myles and Jax

Reread 9/4/2025:
I couldn't stop thinking about these boys, so I did a reread.

Original Review (8/1/2025):
I am loving this series! It's a bit different than what we normally get from Willow, darker, with morally grey heroes. And I'm eating it up.

Jax is a psychopath, and a twin! I love how Willow writes twins in her series and when we met them in book one I was so hoping we would get their stories.
Myles is a very computer savvy hacker, and an introvert.
Jax starts stalking Myles to find out more about him because of some things that happen in book one. There is a bit of hidden identity, some hide and seek, and some primal play.
These two are opposites and their chemistry is explosive together.
And then they have to work together to find out who is threatening Myles. I love suspense in my romance as well!
I don't want to give away anything in the story so I'm trying to keep the review vague. It's rich elite morally grey guys in a dark academic setting falling in love with sweet guys. And it's literally everything I love and want in a setting and premise like that.
It's no secret by now that Willow Dixon is one of my top all time favorite authors and I love that we're getting this slightly darker series from her.

This is just another all time favorite read that will become a comfort read for me. One of those books that you want to reread immediately after finishing it. And I’m obsessed with the twins!

"He had the chance to shut things down before they started, and he had the chance to do it again just now, but he didn’t. That means he’s either reckless or stupid. Either way, he’s as into this as I am. Watching him run from me and chasing after him as I hunted him down was the hottest and most exhilarating thing I’ve ever experienced."

Hide and Seek is book 2 in the Silvercrest U dark-themed MM college romance series by the fabulous Willow Dixon. This is a linked standalone series, so I do recommend that you read (my favourite so far) Wicked Games first, because of the overarching story and characters that appear throughout.

The series is set around a group of rich frat boys in an elite college, with strong dark academia vibes, but in a contemporary setting. Think secret societies, money talks, morally grey characters who can literally get away with murder and a whole load of steam. Divine! This is Jax and Myles' story.

What To Expect:

🖤MM college romance
🖤Dark themes
🖤Secret societies
🖤Stalker/stranger romance
🖤Hacker/frat boy
🖤Double bi-awakening
🖤Steamy first times
🖤HEA

Loved it!

➤ Quick Thoughts:
I’d been dying to get my hands on this one after falling hard for the twins in book one, and with so many of my favorite tropes packed in, my expectations were through the roof. I was nervous it couldn’t live up to the hype I built in my head… But not only did it deliver, it blew past everything I hoped for! 🤯 As a stalker-lover at heart, this book was pure paradise. Jax is obsession done right—one of the best stalkers I’ve ever read. The way he combined in-person stalking with cameras and audio feeds? Chef’s kiss. And their unconventional way of communicating in the beginning? Brilliant. This story gave me the thrill of the chase, unforgettable moments, and chemistry that hit like a lightning strike!

➤ Favorite Quotes:
✨ He sees the world differently from most people. He sees it like I do, and he’s the only person I’ve ever met who can match me or give me any sort of challenge.

✨ “True, but when I say you’re interesting, I mean it in a different way. Do you know how many people I’ve found interesting in my entire life?” He shoots the camera a confused look. “I don’t know. Lots?” “You.”

✨ Myles is mine, and I don’t care if it takes the rest of his life to prove it to him; he will always be mine.

✨ With a growl that doesn’t even sound human, I pull him off the wall so I can walk him to his bed. He clings to me and makes little mewling noises that trigger the instinct to both protect him with my life and take him apart piece by tiny piece until he’s nothing but a whimpering, spent mess under me.

✨ “When I say you’re mine, Myles. I mean, you’re mine. No one else gets to see you the way I do. No one else gets to share any part of you. Understand?” His intense stare and possessive words should freak me the fuck out, but they just don’t. I like that he’s so protective of me. It makes me feel special, but more than that, it makes me feel safe, and that’s something I haven’t felt in what feels like forever.

After literally devouring the first book, Wicked Games, I was so happy I got the opportunity to read the ARC of this one.

Please be aware: This series is darker than Willow's usual work. The MCs are morally grey and the story takes some darker turns.

Jax is one of the twins we met in book one. He is a diagnosed psychopath, although not your typical one. When Myles got on his radar, things change for the both of them. While Myles is a talented hacker and computer nerd, Jax has other skills. Both of them together are an exciting combination ❤️‍🔥

This book really hooked me from the beginning. I loved that the story was slightly darker than what you usually read from this author, and the MCs together made a fantastic couple. The spice was HOT, whew 🥵

I'm already so ready for book three!

This was way better than book one in my opinion. I really loved Myles. It was still absolutely insane and weird mafia dark academia type mix book, and the mains didn’t meet for REAL until WAY too late in the book, but overall I had a good time. I was really enjoying it until it ended and I realised Jax and Myles had barely been together knowing who each other was at the end of the book. It felt like a very abrupt ending.

This book was sooo much better than the first book in the series! I’m so happy I got to read it.

What annoyed me in the first book was the weird and seemingly endless unnecessary violence, and the lack of compassion. And also the exact relationship between all characters. This book also has some violence but in this story it makes total sense. And I loved how the mc’s got each other. The mind games they played, the anonymity and hot cnc 😱🤩. It was all very entertaining and fun.
The hacker stuff was very interesting as well. I didn’t get it at all what was meant by that Myles hid all sort of things in the code. It sounded very legit 🤣 And I always wonder if it is true people feel when they are being watched. In my experience in real life, they don’t 😁 It made it seem very lovely though.

This series still feels like a long way from Willows earlier series. In contrast to after the previous book I do see a lot of potential for the rest of this series after this book. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for the next one!

In the meantime this one goes on my reread stack and I definitely recommend reading it!

Thanks to the author and Foreword PR for giving me an ARC!

PS: the covers on these author’s books are always amazing! Great cover model again. 😍

This was fun! I loved certain plot twists—some I saw coming and others I didn’t. I loved getting a personal look at how the twins interact and see one another. Jace has been my fav twin since the start, so I’m very excited about his book coming next month. Sometimes the dialogue feels cringy or forced, so I had moments where I got the ick but that’s a me issue. In this book particularly, I felt like things were repeated a lot (sayings, phrases, explaining situations, inner monologues) and that was another reason the book wasn’t AMAZING for me. All in all, it’s not a work of literary art, but I’m enjoying the stories and plan to continue the series.

5+ 🌟

I loved this one, it had some of my favorite kinks & tropes! Hidden identity, CNC and primal play??!? Ohhhgawdyess. The dark academia/secret society thing is fun and the MC’s are super competent and super hot (of course). The couple in this book was very cute, I liked the games they played to tease & flirt with each other and the hidden identity continued far into the story with a satisfying reveal

Myles is reclusive hacker at Silvercrest U with a dirty secret. Jax absolutely knows this secret, but needs to know more. Stalking is Jax’s solution!
This book follows the events of book 1, which definitely set the stage for this story.

The plot mostly focuses on Jax’s slowly growing obsession with Myles, and Myles’ growing interest in his stalker. To be honest, it was actually what made the book so much fun. Myles doesn’t even know who Jax is until like 70% into the book, which keeps the tension and drama at 100% for the whole book.

You’re going to get:
-hacker/stalker
-dark college romance
-CNC 👀
-violence and illegal activity (as the author says in their note, suspend your beliefs in reality!)
-possessiveness to the max

Again, I must restate that big fans of God of Fury will probably love this series. The dark college vibes with secret society / rich bad people characters are similar. This is definitely a book that’s going to keep you entertained the whole way through. Just pretend it’s in an alternate universe and you’re good 😂

I will say, the one thing that I couldn’t get over, was that Myles is supposed to be this absolute genius, code-cracking savant, but it takes him forever to realize that Jax is his stalker, despite there being clear clues.

Anyways, still fun! Will definitely read the next book when it drops!

Meh. The characters were not as good in this one. Jax and Myles were just super boring to me. The plot even more so. Ugh.

By the end I really don’t care what happened to them. I was very apathetic. Another annoying thing was all the fade to black scenes. If you are going to have primal play, you should at least have more on page sex adventures. Meh. 😑

At least 100 pages could have been omitted.
I thought all the stalking would be fun to read… turns out it’s super boring and all the internal dialogue made me fall asleep at times 😴😴😴😴😴 it wasn’t until 72% in that Myles actually saw Jax’s face and body 🫠🫠🤪

I hope Jace’s book is more exciting.

I’m absolutely loving this new series. The twins had me intrigued from the very first book and I was so excited to find out they’d each be getting their own stories. In this one, we have Myles, our introverted, tech-savvy MMC, and Jax, who brings all the morally gray goodness. These two just worked so well together.

I really loved that Jace and the rest of the family immediately welcomed Myles. There wasn’t any unnecessary tension or hesitation. Everyone was supportive from the start and Myles gained the kind of found family he’d always wanted.

I can’t wait to continue the series and see what’s in store for Jace nex

Not as addictive as the first book in this series, but still really good! I did enjoy a lot of things about this book, but there were also quite a few that made me give it a 3.5 star rating. It just didn’t hook me in the first half. But then that dynamic and mystery started to feel repetitive. Don’t get me wrong, it was great, but for me it made their relationship feel less emotional and connected.

It wasn’t until they finally met for the first time that I started to get more invested, and the excitement I’d felt even before starting the book came back. That’s when their connection finally felt real to me. And I’m not saying their dynamic should’ve been completely different, because it was great, but maybe they could’ve interacted more outside of their primal prey scenes, since the first half focused almost entirely on that, and the emotional side that helps me connect with them as a couple was missing. Because they meet so late in the book, the time they have to actually connect and really get to know each other feels rushed. I mean, Jax knew almost everything about Myles, and Jax started to open up more too, so I did know they had a connection, but I just couldn’t truly feel it until maybe the last half of the book.

The last half of the book is where the story really got me, it was sooo much better! The plot itself was interesting, but unlike the first book, the first half felt like it kind of forgot about it for a bit. They still mentioned the mystery around the blackmailing and were looking for answers and all of that, but I sometimes forgot there was actual danger that Myles was involved in, since it was more focused on the spice. But then, in the last half, everything started to get exciting: Myles and Jax finally meet, secrets come to light, betrayals are revealed, and don’t even get me started on the whole “destroying anyone who touched his partner” thing Jax had going on, because that’s one of the best things in dark romance books. So yeah, I was hooked, and even though the twists were a little predictable, they were still really good. But then… again with the rushed and incomplete ending. I get that maybe it was done to set up the next book, but it still felt kinda abrupt.

I really did love Jax and Myles, they had such a fun and hot dynamic. And when I say that I didn’t fully feel their connection from the start, it doesn’t mean I didn’t see that there was one. You could definitely feel both of their obsession and interest in each other. The chemistry was great, and they really matched each other. I loveee possessive and protective MMCs, and when one of them is in trouble and the other goes full protector mode… yep, I definitely get obsessed.

“I’ve seen you at your best and your worst. I know more about you than you can imagine, and nothing I’ve seen or heard or learned has made me want you any less. You can’t scare me off because you can’t scare someone who doesn’t feel fear.”

“Because you’re beyond comparison. Because when I look at you, I see the only person who’s ever interested me. I think you’re gorgeous, but your looks are just window dressing. It’s who you are that makes me want to claim you as mine, and I don’t give a flying fuck what anyone else thinks about me or my choices, because they mean nothing to me.”

“I think I love you too,” he says, and it’s the first time I’ve ever heard him sound unsure of himself. “And if what I’m feeling isn’t love, then it’s the closest to it that I can feel.” He blows out a breath and lifts his head so he can look at me. “You’re not just mine, Myles. You’re a part of me. You’re the piece I didn’t know was missing.”

I loved getting to see the full interactions between the twins — they’re funny, and I’m honestly obsessed with both of them. I do wish there had been more scenes with Killian and Felix, but I’m still happy with the small moments we got of all of them together. The family aspect in this series is definitely one of my favorite things. I love how they support each other, accept their partners, and protect them too. I just love how they treat Felix and now Myles as part of the family.

“I think you can love people in your own way, and that’s enough for me.”
“In my own way?” He strokes my arm.
“Like you love Jace, that’s just a fact. It might not look or feel like the kind of love people are used to seeing between siblings or twins, but that doesn’t make it any less real. The same with your cousins and your family. The intense need you have to protect them and make sure they’re safe. How you’d lay down your life for them without a second thought. The way you show them who you really are because you know they’ll always accept you. That’s love. You’re just processing it differently because you’re different.”
He makes a thoughtful sound. “I feel all of those things for you too, but there’s something that makes you different from them.”
“What’s that?”
“You’re the only person who’s ever made me feel afraid.”

This is by far the best series I’ve read from this author. Even though this book wasn’t my favorite in the series, I still really enjoyed it. Now I’m so excited to read Jace’s book! It’s not out yet, so I’ll have to wait a bit, but hopefully not for too long because I need to see who he ends up with.

“When I’m ready, I grab my notebook and write one final message on it, then press it against the glass. Hide and seek? The single flash sends a rush of adrenaline through me, and I toss my notebook on my desk as I hurry out the door.”

Thank you so much for the arc 🥺🥰💖

We're back with book 2 featuring Jax and Myles, and these boys are FERAL. I'm here for it and if you love primal, CNC, dark MC's who stalk, this should be your next read. It was seriously juicy.

I'm becoming a huge fan of this series and I seem to just devour these books lol

As we know from the previous book, Jax is one of the twin brothers and Myles was the one who was responsible for Felix being in danger in the first one.

Of course, avoiding spoilers when I can, but there was more to the story and it made Myles a person that they wanted to keep tabs on.

Between the twins, Jace is the hacker and Jax is the more stealthy, deadly with a blade type, so Jax is the one responsible with surveillance.

It starts with a few hidden cameras, and watching from the shadows, while Jace looks into who Myles is.

Myles seems normal enough, introverted, plays games and keeps to himself. He's a genius hacker and has a knack for puzzles.

He has a feeling that someone is following him when he walks around campus and feels watched when he's at his dorm.

Myles is sure that it's simply because he leaves his shades open, and so one night he decides to write a note to lure out the stalker, telling him to try to catch him.

Jax is intrigued, and his feral side takes over. They chase through the woods and eventually end up with Myles pinned against a tree.
What started as a thrilling game of hide & seek turns into so much more!

Both of them want to continue their game, but Myles has no idea who Jax is, because with every hookup, he has on a hooded disguise.

Jax is diagnosed as a psychopath, who has never been interested in anybody, but Myles works his way into his heart. He's obsessed with him and can't get enough. Chasing him. Tying him up, Claiming him. Letting everyone know who he belongs to.

Their story is full of twists, turns and suspense as they work to unravel who is behind the threats on Myles' life and figure out their feelings for each other.

I feel like while wicked games was so good, this was somehow even better.
Their chemistry was off the charts!

Hide and Seek ARC Review:

Jax and Myles 💘😏

After the events in Wicked Games, Jax begins watching Myles with the purpose of finding out if he is a threat to them or not. Myles instead shocks Jax with how intriguing he finds Myles, turning from interest to an obsession that only seems to grow stronger the more he learns about Myles.

Hide and Seek is just as enthralling as Wicked Games was for me. I love this family and the growing number of family members with every book as each of them finds someone who makes sense in the most calming and chaotic way that just fits them. Jax and Myles have minds that mesh, both extremely sharp and the games they play together have them growing closer instead of apart. Myles deserves to find love and safety in his family and friends, and I was thrilled to see him get all of that with Jax and his family. He is a perfect addition to the group, and the way that his family accepts people when they are claimed by a family member is incredible.

While Wicked Games and Hide and Seek continue to duke it out in my head and heart for who I could have possibly loved more, I am looking forward to the next installment and with who is next! This series is fantastic!

I do love these book but not for what they’re trying to be. To be as vague as possible, the author skips a lot of the action you’d expect to be in a “secret society + amateur assassins + dark vibes” book. Like all of that is *there* but the good stuff is washed over and usually recounted later.

The vibes though? Immaculate. I just wish that the conclusion of the suspense wasn’t so rushed in both of them. I spend 300 pages playing “who done it” and I get 2 sentences about the solving of the mystery or whatever.

Also, it’s just mostly smut. 😂 in both of the available books, it’s 90% smut, 5% actual plot and 5% suspense. I’m here for it and will absolutely continue with this series knowing I don’t absolutely love the actual arc of the plot lines 😂

This was not as vague as I hoped to be but I could yap about this all day.
