All aboard the express to hell...

When the midnight freight train derails outside Caldwell, it spills more than cargo across the Texas plains—it reveals a nightmare on rails.Texas Ranger Ruth Baker arrives at the crash site expecting twisted metal and routine tragedy. Instead, she finds dozens of terrified people chained in hidden rail cars, victims of a human trafficking operation that's been running right under everyone's noses.

The railroad baron behind the operation, Clayton Morse, has been using his trains to transport human cargo across state lines for years. But when Ruth and Aaron Tate board the next train to gather evidence, they realize too late that Morse knows they're coming.

Now they're trapped on a speeding train with a cargo hold full of killers, no way to communicate with the outside world, and a conductor who's been ordered to make sure they never reach the next station.

With innocent lives hanging in the balance and the train racing toward a deadly destination, Ruth must navigate narrow corridors filled with armed traffickers while Aaron works to free the captives. But Morse has one final surprise waiting at the end of the line—and it's designed to bury the evidence forever.

On this night train, there are no scheduled stops. Only scheduled deaths.

NIGHT TRAIN is an unrelenting, high-stakes mystery thriller packed with explosive action, psychological warfare, and the trademark emotional punch Baker & Tate fans have come to love.

The wildest ride yet!

Night Train, book 12 in the Baker & Tate series, is about a massive drug/human smuggling operation using rail lines to move contraband into the US from Mexico. Rangers Baker and Tate are called to the scene of a train derailment where over 30 children and millions of dollars in fentanyl spread across rural Texas. The rangers put themselves in their most precarious situation yet to stop the next shipment, one ten times the size of the derailed train. As with all the Baker & Tate novels, Night Train is well written with pacing that perfectly matches the plot, great characters who actually grow and change and great dialogue. Overall, 5/5 stars, highly recommended to nearly any reader who enjoys tightly written thrillers!!

This book does not disappoint in any way!

This is the most important rescue of the series. 300 plus children of all ages being trafficked from the Mexican border across Texas. As usual, the Rangers are the ones showing up first, with so many twists and turns! Even though all of the injuries, Ruth and Aaron are still working hand in hand to stop the bad guys and save the children, stop the train load of dangerous drugs and literally save the day! So very nice to end this book with their wedding. Beautifully simple yet memorable with all friends, old and new, and family. Great read and very hard to put down until you finish it!
