Our psychic sleuth, Xelma, goes west to Charters Towers to purchase another railway carriage for her B&B at Balgal Beach, in tropical North Queensland, but circumstances have her joining in the search for a missing ringer, at Eagle’s Nest Station. Hans is a young German man who’s come to The Towers to escape ‘Trouble’ in Melbourne.
Just in case there’s been foul play, Detective Inspector Ryan Croft has been assigned the task of helping find the young man.
When Han’s is found, injured but alive, certain things just don’t add up. Due to his head injury, he now speaks only German, and instead of the easygoing Hans the whole town knows and loves, he is antisocial, then oddly accommodating, by turn.
Then, things go from strange to downright bizarre.
