I was born with dirt on my boots and diamonds in my eyes.
Everyone expects me to be the perfect rancher’s daughter. Go to college. Follow the rules. Marry someone appropriate.
But I’ve never been the good girl. I want more—glamour, freedom, and the kind of trouble that tastes like rebellion.
So when my father cuts off my trust fund and sticks me in a dusty temp job, the last thing I expect is him—the new ranch hand with a sharp mouth, calloused hands, and eyes that see straight through me.
He calls me Sweet Magnolia like it’s a threat. I pretend to hate it.
But one dangerous look and I’m spiraling into a storm I might not come back from.
And if my family finds out what I’ve done…
I might lose more than just my inheritance.
A small-town enemies-to-lovers romance full of forbidden heat, family secrets, and one rebellious girl who learns that sometimes the biggest risks lead to the wildest rewards.
I’m gonna give this one 3 stars. Not a terrible book, but probably one I wouldn’t read again. (Possible spoilers ahead)
h is awful. She is a spoiled brat. She wants her trust fund, and Dad is like No, you have to work. Seriously, she ruined this book for me. She’s 19.
A new “ranch hand” shows up. I never really understood why his dad sent him to the ranch. Dad was friends with h’s dad, but it went sour????
Anyway. Spoiled brat h decided to get back at her daddy by messing with H. She literally snuck into his trailer. She would NOT leave him alone. He finally took her V-card. I did not like her. He’s into some kink. She enjoys 🤪
Umm, they get caught kissing in the barn, and everyone loses their mind. She is going to leave with him when her dad fires him, but he’s tells her no. He leaves.
One month later, h finds out she’s pregnant. She is trying to get a hold of him, but he has ghosted her on everything (Mr Wonderful). She does go to see him and he says some god-awful things to her. Like….ugh 🤬(he had an ex who tried to pass off a pregnancy as his, but the baby was his BFF) so he has huge trust issues.
There was no grovel
H’s mom knocks some sense into him. The families work it out. HEA with a wedding and their kid is in the wedding. His name is Sean.

I didn't care for Magnolia at first. Spoiled, bratty rancher's daughter with a lot of sass and snark. However, looking deeper into her childhood, there were instances of bullying that changed her and made her act differently, not only with others but even with her family, especially her father. As a favor to his father, Bennett goes to Magnolia's father's ranch to lend a hand. He keeps his identity a secret due to an old misunderstanding between the two dads. Magnolia decides to use Bennett to get back at her father, but it soon backfires in more ways than one. Tempers flare, punches are thrown, and Bennett is fired. Then Magnolia gets shocking news, and she runs to Bennett in Texas, where emotions explode. Secrets come out, and it looks like the end for a possible HEA for Magnolia and Bennett. Once the reader understands what is behind or the causes of both Magnolia and Bennett's actions and behaviors, a true love story unfolds. But will it fizzle before it has a chance?
Really enjoyed this book. It took me a few moments to get past my irritation of the FMC, she seemed a bit whiny and spoilt at first, but as you progress you understand why. I somehow thought the MMC was a bit older than her, like by 10yrs or so. His maturity in the beginning gave off those vibes, especially the 2nd night they are together, but at the end he felt a bit naive or immature in his behavior. Maybe it was just me. Ps in the chapter where she walks out her house to go to her friend, there seems to be a problem with the one paragraph, it jumps from where she is phoning to order pizza, to her being at the friend, seems like a time jump which was confusing.
Claiming Bennett by Nell Daniels is the story of Bennett and Magnolia. She is a MAJORLY spoiled, entitled, demanding, snarky girl who really needs to grow up. She is at loggerheads with her father so, he issues an ultimatum (one he should have probably issued years ago.) Bennett is a new ranch hand…with a secret. He’s on a bit of a mission. Nothing can get in the way of that.
It was a little tough to get through the first half of this book, since I couldn’t stand Magnolia. I decided to keep going and I’m glad I did. Enjoyable book once I got past that part!
I loved Maggie and Bennett's story. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love so I can't give a full 4 stars, but I think it was tastefully written. At first Maggie really seemed like a spoiled brat, but I really think it was just because of so many people doubting her and treating her less than she deserved. She really redeemed herself at the end. It was a short easy read for me!
