About the author

Amanda Black was born and raised in the Midwest, where she still lives with her husband and spoiled-rotten dogs. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art before deciding that she actually needed to pay some bills, which is when she took a position as an ophthalmic technician.

For the past few years she’s been a closet romance writer in her spare time and would love nothing more than to make it a full-time career. When she’s not writing her next steamy love scene, her interests include reading, sketching, and annihilating her friends and family in movie trivia.

This wasn't TERRIBLE, but it wasn't much of anything to be completely honest.

There wasn't enough story to balance the sex scenes; particularly in the second part of the so-called book. Lily and Ethan could have been more developed as characters individually, and they also could have been more developed as a couple in order to make their relationship somewhat believable.

Basically the book has insta-lust and a ton of sex scenes, but not much actual romance or story to speak of. If you're into, or even just in the mood, for a book that is essentially erotica, then this book is for you. If you are looking for an actual romance, then you'll need to keep looking.

the second part of the book was a bit too slow for me. and the amount of raunchy scenes in here could've rivaled fifty shades; it was close to becoming another smut-without-plot.

I loved this story and it is hot and an amazing read but my problem was that it was a better fanfiction. Like, in refining the characters and editing to publish as original, the story had to change a few key things and one of those changes were too important and changing them set the wrong tone. In the original story Ethan and Rebecca were married and she committed suicide which put him in a guilt/grief state of mind when he met lily but in this case it was fraud which is a wholly different emotion than guilt/grief and his actions and his reticence and the domino effect is marred because the root cause and the foundation of the story is shaky.

Nevertheless, the story is one of my favourites and I love the way its written. I love a lot of things about this story. I love the plotline where two people are bound by endless threads and they discover those threads slowly.

This story deserves 5.0 rating from me despite the questionable plot change.

I actually read this book when it was a fanfiction on a website! Had to buy the physical copy so I could reread it and support the author. Great job and I’m excited that she was able to publish it! The sex was great and the story was sweet~

Amanda is a very talented author, The Apartment books are amazing, love the way she writes the story. Extremely hot and sweet at the same time. Definitely a must read.
