This is really a 2.5 I'd say but I bumped it up instead of down because I just like a male main character that is bananas over his woman.
Damiano, who has other brothers and a sister, is the 23-year-old son of a mafia boss. Damiano is still living at home with his parents and brothers, because why not. Carmin is a 42-year-old who recently re-enrolled in college to get an advanced degree. Carmin is living with her older sister and family because she had some kind of mental breakdown and moved in with her. Damiano and Carmin meet when Damiano ran into the school's library to ensure footage was captured of several men who were trying to kill him. Damiano eventually makes his way into a room in which Carmin was studying, sees her, and immediately determines that she will be his wife. He isn't worried about her age but guesses that Carmin is in her 30s. They dry hump to orgasms while keeping quiet as the rival gang members rattle the door. Never mind that weapons were brandishes within the library and not a person in the library did anything.
In any case, Damiano is hot shit and his family carries the kind of power and influence that means his escapades are handled with no negative result on his end. After leaving Carmin, Damiano uses his family's hacker to find out everything about Carmin, including to check her phone remotely and find out that she had a date. Damiano crashes Carmin's date and takes her home. From there, they begin to get to know one another. Damiano is all in from meet but Carmin needs more time to make up her mind. In the meantime, they're dating while Carmin catches up to where Damiano is and that's thinking of forever with one another. The rival gang causes some problems here and there but the two get through all the way to their happy ending.
The things that detracted from this one for me were the spelling and grammatical errors, the consistency issues, how rushed some of the more angsty parts of the book were and the lack of development of certain parts of the book. I didn't really feel the tension Carmin felt when she realizes that Phil, her lab partner, used their joint research to begin his drug dealing career. And to the rival gang that's been trying to kill Damiano at that! Phil has wanted Carmin for a long time but she didn't return his affections or encourage him in any way. In fact, she turned him down decisively. I still don't understand why Carmin had to go live with her sister even though I did enjoy the scenes in her home because they were funny.
Overall, it was okay.

Deadly Vow
I absolutely LOVE this story. My eyes were glued to each page. From the 1st meeting, to every drama that unfolded after was so good. But for me, the favorite parts of the story was the family and friends of the main characters. The banters, sharp wits, the laughter, the seriousness when it was time to ride out. It added so much flavor to this story right along with the love between the main characters. Bravo!! 10/10 You did That!!!!

I enjoyed the younger man/older woman pursuit with this couple. Damiano saw what he wanted, Carmin and went after her with a burning fever. He laid claim boldly and unapologetically. Great read, spicy and full of action.

Enjoyable book
This is my first read by this author. I really enjoyed it. Typical Alpha mafia man who finds his one and only. Give this book a try.

Cool and relatable story line. The heat between them was sexy.
