Rescuing her was one thing. Claiming her was another.

When Juliet Carver was kidnapped, it was me who got the call, but when she pushed me too far, she learned the hard way how a former Navy SEAL's belt feels across her bare ass.

But I'm going to do more than just bring this feisty little princess home safe.

I'm going to make her mine.

Publisher's  Kage is the first book in the Claimed and Protected series but can be read as a standalone. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

KAGE is book 1 of the Claimed and Protected series. It's a steamy, opposites-attract, kidnapping, girl gets her ex-SEAL darkish romance. Kage is a hunky, broody, ex-SEAL with PTSD who is having a rough time. Juliette is a smart and sassy marketer turned influencer after she is let go. She is the daughter of a billionaire who has her own trauma issues. When she heads to Bermuda, she is kidnapped. Kage and his dog, Tank, head to Bermuda to save her, but things go wrong. Can Kage keep her safe? Juliette was such a brat at times and Kage delivered plenty of spankings. Their chemistry was insane, the banter was snarky, and we got a great HEA after danger, drama, angst, and tears. I loved how these two were able to help heal each other. I can't wait for Maddox's story next!.

I really enjoyed Kage's story and the narration by Skylar Morgan. The story moved along quickly, I felt the suspense, excitement and the desire between the two main characters.
I appreciate this new series, Claimed and Protected, a break from the mafia books in Piper Stone's other series.

“Kage: A Navy SEAL Romance” is the first book in the “Claimed and Protected Series.” “Hunt. Capture. Kill,” that is what Kage was trained to do by the Navy. “Our motto? The only easy day was yesterday.” Now he is retired, but once a Seal, always a Seal! Lieutenant Kage Rollins is also a highly decorated Navy Seal. When his Uncle Henry died, he left Kage a property in rural Colorado plus a hefty bank account to go with it. Giving him time to recover both mentally and physically from the trauma’s of war. Just when he thought that this life behind him his old boss, Commander Jenkins, turns up on his doorstep.

Hi goddaughter, Juliette Carver, has been kidnapped whilst on holiday in Bermuda. Hostages extraction is Kage’s area of expertise. “You’re the best at reconnaissance and extraction in dangerous circumstances there ever was.” The job should be quick as all information to date shows that she is still on the island - find her, extract her and return her to New York. With the help of Tank, his search and rescue dog, simple! Famous last words……

Once he locates and rescues Juliette, extraction is delayed as they have been compromised. They go into hiding until he can organise their escape from the island. Once again the situation has changed and instead of going home to New York, Juliette returns to Colorado with him, for her safety. The more time they are spending together, the closer they became. Kage is a man use to being in control but with Juliette he feels out of control. She has him questioning decisions he has made and decisions he is yet to make about his future. He is very protective of Juliette but she fights him all the way, she cares for him but he pushes her away. He feels that he is no good for her, but is she?

“I gripped her chin with two fingers and lowered my head. There were no words needed. What we both wanted was time spent together, and a peace neither one of us had felt in a long time. There was also no way of expressing adequately the way I craved her touch or her taste.”

Prepare for a story full of twists, turns around every corner, loyalty and betrayal, power and control and sizzling heat. This is a story you won't be able to put down - you will be totally hooked! The story is very fast paced and full of twists and turns! You have danger, betrayal, love, tears, death, power, action and passion.

I absolutely loved this story! I was hooked by the first chapter and I could not put it down. The suspense will have you, metaphorically, on the edge of your chair. I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful love story ♥️ From page to page, chapter to chapter, from cover to cover - you will enjoy this beautiful story! This book will not disappoint! Highly recommended 😊

This was terrible.

This book just dragged on and on and on and on, and it was so boring. The characters were unlikable and poorly written. The storyline was forced and not fluid. The author clearly does not know what a Epilogue is. Epilogues are supposed to be short chapters that bring the story to a conclusion. This author wrote an Epilogue that was a very long chapter, then she wrote two more chapters, and then a second Epilogue that was also long.

At the beginning of the story, Juliette kept commenting on how much of a jerk Kage was, but at the beginning, she was the jerk, not him. Then when they made it back to the states, suddenly Kage was a brooding, wounded jerk and Juliette was also bouncy and happy. Then she becomes the stereotypical sermonizer who frequently lectures Kage on how he needs to live. She was basically the same character that you read about in every other book like this. Kage constantly talks about how smart and strong she is, but she is actually kind of pathetic. Then, out of nowhere, she is suddenly obsessed with animals. Also, Kage is supposed to be this uber-SEAL who is fantastic at reconnaissance and extraction, but he somehow does not notice he lives RIGHT NEXT DOOR to an animal sanctuary on hundreds of acres?! I do not think the author knows anything about the military, their protocols, or soldiers. It shows.

The story was supposed to be about how he saved her from kidnappers, but there was very little of that in the story. Most of the book was just them arguing.

This book was so boring, I had to fight to keep reading and not DNF the book. This was a struggle.

She is on vacation when she is taken by brutal men. It has something to do with her father, and they are talking of selling her. She is terrified, when he storms in. He was hired by her godfather to rescue her. He is a former SEAL with lots of combat experience. He is haunted by demons from his past but driven by a sense of honor and decency. They have to navigate a dangerous situation to escape from the island retreat, and once they do they find out that the danger is not over. He has to take her into hiding with him where they are forced to deal with their attraction that has them steaming things up. He is used to being in control, but she makes him feel out of control. She is used to being independent but he is determined that she do things his way to keep her safe. There is a lot of high angst drama to be navigated while they fight with each other and against their attraction, until they can't anymore. The characters are well detailed out, you have a strong sense of them and the author unfolds the story very well. You easily become invested in the relationship and the drama. There is definitely some mutual pining as the story unfolds. I have to admit that the only thing I really wished for was an epilogue...after being wrung out and drug down their path, there wasn't enough time on page for the happily ever after. I wanted to roll in and wrap myself up in it, but instead I got a brief hug.

A simply wonderful read, tremendous characters and plot and also a heartfelt read as well
This was a simply fantastic read and I have to say from the moment I started reading it was impossible to put this book down as it was a simply heart felt read that just holds you simply riveted.
Kage had been contacted by his commanding officer who requested that he try and recover his god-daughter who had been kidnapped whilst she had been on holiday with friends and it had been under very suspicious circumstances.
When Kage had found Juliette, it was obvious that there was far more going on that he had initially believed and if it had not been for his wonderful four-legged furry pal “Tank” his trained search and rescue dog it would have bee impossible to find her, it had been Tanks terrific sense of smell that led him to her location.
As Kage and Juliette and Tank spend more time together it is obvious that they were meant to be together, she has helped him to overcome the horrors he has lived through and now he is determined to keep her safe.
What he had never expected was that he would fall in love with this wonderful woman and even hid dog Tank had fallen in love with her as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

A PTSD-ridden former Navy SEAL and a billionaire's daughter come together when he's tasked with extracting her after a kidnapping.

I enjoyed the plot and had many guesses as to why Juliette had been kidnapped. At first, the story seemed to be moving at a decent pace. The characters were likable enough. But, the sentence structure threw me off at times and caused me to pause and re-read things to understand it.

About 60% in, it seemed like the plot was completely forgotten about in favor of the hot and cold, back and forth between the characters. Juliette was always more concerned with trying to act as Kage's shrink than caring about her own safety.
Her carelessness towards her situation and constant attempts to break down the walls to his heart didn't really make much sense to me, given how he treated her.

Her explosive blow up when she learned the truth seemed misdirected and confusing since she never really cared to think about the situation before then.

The action that was incorporated seemed realistic enough and definitely had my heart racing.

I think the book would have been more enjoyable had the plot not completely paused in the middle of the book. It also could've done with fewer chapters to wrap up without dragging on.

This was not what I expected but still very much enjoyed I personally love these types of stories ex military or anything in that genre especially when they protected sassy women! In my opinion this slow burn forbidden attraction with lots of tension that’s easy to feel. I love characters they definitely something I love determination that they have Kage is grumpiness hot head who is trying everything to make sure nobody gets close to him. The sassy independent female has a love for beauty alongside to prove there more in life than trauma. They get on each other’s nerves and I love every second and did a mention the lovely dog tank makes this action packed story even better! I love it when authors have animals in their stories that makes me so happy and it’s always entertaining seeing the characters interact with them for so many reasons! I couldn’t put this book down with the mystery, betrayal, unpredictable, the intense desire steamy moments, and the crazy funny stuff between these two enemies to lovers theme! What a great start to epic series can’t wait to read the next book! :)

'KAGE' is the first book in the "Claimed and Protected" series, delivering a captivating mix of steamy romance and suspense. This story revolves around Kage, a brooding ex-SEAL grappling with PTSD, and Juliette, a smart and sassy former marketer turned influencer. As the daughter of a billionaire, she carries her own set of trauma.

The plot kicks off as Juliette heads to Bermuda for a getaway, only to be kidnapped. Enter Kage, along with his loyal dog Tank, as he embarks on a mission to rescue her. However, things quickly spiral out of control. Can Kage keep her safe? Juliette often tests Kage's patience with her bratty antics, and he isn’t shy about delivering some well-deserved spankings. Their chemistry is electric, the banter is sharp, and despite the drama, danger, and emotional turmoil, they ultimately find their happy-ever-after.

Both characters exhibit remarkable growth as they support each other in their healing process. This book has immense potential, with dynamic characters and an engaging plot. However, the equine details are disappointingly inaccurate, which will be evident to those with even basic horse knowledge. Furthermore, it’s unrealistic for a Navy SEAL to refer to himself as a soldier. Just food for thought.

There is a good reason why I am a die-hard fan of Ms. Piper's. Her books are exciting,
full of danger, heat, and unpredictability. I love her ability to tell a story where the
characters are complex and usually have an overload of baggage and attitude, plus
I like that her FM characters are feisty, strong, and mostly uncooperative. This
describes Juliette to a T, although I was somewhat sympathetic after what she had
been through. Then you have Kage, an ex-Navy SEAL with his demons, who, as a favor,
agrees to rescue Juliette after she was kidnapped. I did think that she could have
been more grateful, but instead, she continued to fight Kage which at times didn't
end well for her. Despite their efforts to ignore the spark between them, it was
fireworks.

We all know how animals can help people start to heal, as seen with Tank, who loved
to chase balls. The calming effects of the horses also helped. This story will keep you
on the edge of your seats with the danger, mystery, betrayal, delicious spankings, and
steamy sex scenes. Overall, this was a fast-moving, action-packed read of two people
who helped each other heal with time.

Loving the steam and unrequited love in this series!
I fell in love with Juliet who is trying to find herself after a failed job, so heads to Bermuda with her girlfriends for some fun and social media influencing. When the girls go out for the night, she decides to stay in, but never expected that she would be kidnapped. I feel for Kage as he tries to figure out life after the SEALs, and thanks to his deceased uncle’s generous gift of his homestead in Colorado, he muddles through life with his recently adopted dog from a former Marine. Or that is, until his former commander says he is the only man for the job to rescue a kidnapped victim in Bermuda. What follows is a suspenseful plot of espionage and survival that leads Kage and Juliet to his homestead. As the pressure mounts on whodunit, the electricity between the two sores! Yet Kage’s past stops him from living life, but he would do anything to keep Juliet safe! When the chips fall, will Kage be able to keep Juliet alive? Will Juliet understand why Kage did what he did? You’ll have to read to find out and don’t expect to put the book down until you turn the last page!

Piper Stone is becoming one of my favorite authors. I have loved the books that I’ve read and have more in my TBR that I am wanting to read. This book is no different, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed and I was right!

This story had me intrigued from the get go. Kage is an ex-Seal, he’s dark and broody. I was infatuated with Kage instantly. He was asked by his former commander to rescue Juliette, who had been kidnapped in Bermuda. Kage and his search and rescue dog Tank, take on the mission.

Juliette’s character is feisty, strong-willed and unruly at times. The banter between the two had me going! As they spend more time together things get heated up.

I am a fan of Piper’s writing style. It grabs your attention and keeps you locked in. The storyline was exciting, twisty and full of suspense. It was action packed with danger lurking and betrayals that have you gasping. It kept me on the edge of my seat. If you are one who enjoys a broody, protective MMC, suspense, danger, heat and spankings, then you’ve found your next read! I will definitely be checking out the next book in this series! *be advised to check the TW before reading

Lt. Kage Rollins ex-SEAL by several years was asked by his old commander and godfather to Juliette Carver, whom had been kidnapped for Gage to rescue her. He and his dog, Tank went to Bermuda to complete the task, but the mission was compromised. They had to find their own way off the island, and instead of heading onto New York they were going to Gage's place in Colorado. Trouble was far from over for the two, as it would follow them there. Gage's uncle had recently passed leaving Gage his entire estate. Gage was haunted from his time in the service and doing this job with no information did nothing for his gruffness. Juliette had managed to escape kidnappers before, and she had been involved in an home invasion as a preteen. Her father was a billionaire that sold communication technologies to the military among others. From the moment, they met there was a connection between Gage and Juliette which became more romantic as time went along. Join the action abundance, romantic suspense, mystery, intrigue, and Tank the dog as they work toward a happily ever after.

She needs rescuing and he and Tank are the rescuers.

Juliette is the daughter of a wealthy man. She’s smart and can hold her own in life. She has been fighting to achieve her independence most of her adult life. Since, she lost her job at a marketing, she will be relaying on her other job, an influencer, doing travel blogs and photographs for income. While on vacation, in the Bahamas, with some friends she is kidnapped. There has been no ransom requested. Her father sells high tech communication systems. He deals with anyone legit and not. Thankfully, her godfather knows the best of the best to find her and rescue her, an ex-SEAL. Kage and his new search and rescue dog, Tank, are ready to tackle the job for a boat load of money. Being trapped on an island with military train bad guys is a problem. Can they stay hidden? Can Kage keep them safe? What’s going to happen as the sparks between Kage and Juliette continue and will they act on them? Great book it does have triggers so check them out before you read the book.

I loved the story definitely was one you couldn't put down, reading this book was amazing and the characters were sensational. This story was about Kage and Juliette, Juliette was kidnapped and held in Barbuda Island until she was about to be put up for auction. Kage is an Ex-Marine, after the death of his uncle he inherited everything he had and owned like the house and the bank account, so he bought a dog and was surprised the dog had been trained for search and rescue. Kage had a knock at the door and was surprised who was at the door, Kage was qualified to rescue the female that was kidnapped and it was in a very dangerous place. There was so much action, betrayal, lies, secrets, killings, dangers, kidnapping, Mafia, forced close proximity, so much bantering between them, enemies, threats, suspense, dark and intense passion, hot and steamy romance, and maybe even love.

Who's your daddy?

Wow! What an action packed thrilling ride. I'll admit I don't normally read military romance but Piper Stone wrote it so I knew I had to read Kage and I'm so glad I did. She has a way with words that easily pulls you into each moment in the story. This book had an exciting plot full of suspense, all sorts of twists and turns, with so much steam!

Juliette is a young influencer looking to make her mark on the world on her own apart from her wealthy father. She's feisty and strong-willed.

Kage is an ex-Navy Seal hired to rescue a kidnapped Juliet. He's dark, he's broody and he's deliciously morally-grey. And if that weren't enough to get you interested he has a rescue dog named Tank. Swoon.

Their intense chemistry is off the charts.

Kage is the 1st book in Claimed and Protected series. It's a military romance that follows Influencer Juliette Carver and Ex-Navy SEAL Kage Rollins.

Kage is still trying to figure out life after leaving the military and what to make of the generous gift his uncle left him after his death and his newly adopted rescue dog named Tank. When his ex Commander Gray Jenkins requested that he find and rescue his god-daughter Juliette after she was abducted while vacationing with friends in Bermuda. Once he rescues her he realizes the mission is compromised and there's more going on than he was lead to believe.
Their story is captivating, emotional and healing with suspense, drama, danger and betrayals. And of course lots of sizzling hot sexy activities and a big lovable dog.

Wow, what a story and a fantastic start to this series. The suspense throughout had me holding my breath and I loved Kage and Juliette. While dealing with what his Uncle Henry left him, Kage is asked to extract Juliette from a hostage situation but when the plan goes wrong he finds himself protecting this infuriating, stubborn and beautiful woman. Drawn to each other they both have demons but Juliette's in danger and Kage discovers that he will do anything to keep her safe. Hot, steamy and full of twists and turns and drama, I loved how Juliette had her own demons to battle and was strong enough to stand up to Kage. I also fell in love with Tank, what a beautiful boy with such a heartbreaking story. I can't wait for the next in the series.

How can anyone resist a story of a troubled, handsome SEAL with PTSD that only wants to be left alone, a rescued dog with a sad backstory and a beautiful girl who has her own troubled past? NOT ME! Kage is talked into being the one to go and rescue a girl who was minutes away from being sold into trafficking. He takes his dog Tank who he rescued and then he finds out that the dog was given up by a marine who didn't make it home. Because Tank was trained as a search and rescue dog, the two make quick work of finding and rescuing Juliette. Well, that was the "easy" part as they are like oil and water but eventually realize that this chance meeting was meant to be.

not a lot happened, plot holes

It was over 400 pages, but so much of that didn’t advance the plot. There wasn’t a lot of description which made things confusing. The resolution seemed unfinished and rushed. There wasn’t a good explanation for why she was kidnapped to start with.

Their fight didn’t really make sense. Very very light on the bdsm. I didn’t really buy their relationship. It never explained why his wife died, and that was very unresolved past trauma. He has ptsd that isn’t treated. Never found out why his uncle and dad were in a feud. Didn’t really explain why gray and Randolph were in a feud, or why gray cared about his goddaughter to start with.

Didn’t really explain the entire kidnapping thing when she was a kid.

Danger and Passion.

He was retired and super grumpy and was asked to save her. She was a princess but with a depth he was soon to discover.

At times this story touches your heart strings, both Kage and Juliette had gone through trauma in their lives. Both wounded souls and both in need of redemption in their personal lives.

An emotional read as you feel the highs and lows of both characters, lots of action and betrayal. An edge of the seat storyline with lots of passion, sizzling moments and of course the wonderful Tank who you cannot help but fall in love with!.

Nothing like receiving a inheritance property, a dog, a horse and a horse sanctuary to bring you back to the land of the living. But it will take a woman to heal him. Kage took the job to rescue Juliette from her abductors. It should have been relatively easy for a retired Navy SEAL, because lets face it - he was a highly trained SEAL. But nothing is every easy. When he rescues Juliette sparks fly as he tries to keep her safe from unknown forces. There is a lot of drama and action but there is also a lot of heat and passion. While he tries to keep Juliette safe, she begins to break down all his walls, one crack at a time. This was an extremely enjoyable story to read.

I'm a huge fan Piper Stone's books filled with danger and passion. Her complex characters, like the feisty, strong, and uncooperative Juliette, carry heavy baggage and attitude. Juliette, kidnapped and traumatized, is rescued by Kage, an ex-Navy SEAL with his own demons, doing a favor for a former teammate. Their fiery chemistry sparks despite resistance sparked by Juliette's sass. Animals like ball-chasing Tank and calming horses aid their healing. This fast-paced, action-packed story of danger, mystery, betrayal, and steamy romance keeps you hooked as two broken people heal together.

Wow!

I’ve read a number of Piper Stone’s books. This is absolutely my favorite so far. I was looking for spice and there was just enough. I didn’t expect the emotional depth and complexity of the main characters.
I also appreciated the perspective on ptsd and the lies we tell ourselves to get by.
I’m absolutely going to continue this series!
I’m not a big fan of the mafia series. I grew up in Las Vegas and my best friend when I was ten was the oldest of 4 children who her mother was left to raise after the mob put a hit on her father and dumped his body in a shallow grave in the desert. Contrary to urban legends, nobody helped the widow or her kids.

This Navy SEAL romance is book one in the Claimed and Protected series, and follows Juliette and Kage. He’s hired by Juliette’s godfather after she is kidnapped. Reluctantly he finally concedes to find her. Full of action, suspense, and romance with all the heat. This book, as with all of Stone’s books that I have read, truly captures your attention from the opening page. Not to say I don’t love Kage and Juliette, but Tank really stole my heart!!.

Kage didn't want to rescue Juliette. but after agreeing and accepting the mission, he wouldn't let anything get in the way of completing it. Not even Juliette. Or his growing feelings for her. It should have been a cut and dried mission, but smomethings not right. And he's going to find out what and keep her safe till it's over. Hot and steamy and full of action and adventure, with danger around every corner. Fast paced, edge of your seat, an entertaining read!.

This is the 1st book in the Claimed and Protected series by Piper Stone and this is Kage (ex-SEAL with PTSD), Juliette (sassy marketer/influencer/daughter of a billionaire) and Tank (loyal rescue dog) story. A great story full of adrenalin pumping excitement, passion, angst, betrayal and a dog called Tank. For most of the story Kane was a brooding angry man with at least two secrets. Juliette is drawn to him not just because he rescued her but because she can see the man who cares for abused and lonely animals. There are times I had tears in my eyes when Kage told his story. The ending is lovely and leaves open the possibility of catching up with them in furure stories. An excellent read.
