Chapter 7, Always Remember Him, is a moving and powerful exploration of what it means to truly remember the Savior in our daily lives—not just during sacred ordinances, but in every experience that shapes us. Blending personal stories, scriptural insights, and gospel principles, this chapter invites the reader to reflect on their own spiritual journey and to reconnect with Jesus Christ through the simple but transformative act of remembering.
The authors—Aaron and Julie—share heartfelt personal experiences that serve as living testimonies of how remembering Jesus Christ brings peace, direction, and strength, especially in times of trial. Whether recalling Aaron’s priesthood milestones, his mother’s miraculous journey from the Philippines to the Salt Lake Temple, or Julie’s harrowing health challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, each story illustrates how the Savior’s plan, mercy, and sacrifice provide hope and healing.
What stood out most is the chapter's deep insight into the sacrament as not just a covenant renewal, but a moment of making new covenants, with the promise of the Lord’s Spirit as our companion. The emphasis on remembering—particularly the triple focus on His plan, His mercy, and His Atonement—offers a beautifully holistic way to experience the Savior more fully.
The teaching that remembering Jesus enables us to testify of Him because we’ve experienced Him, not just intellectually accepted Him, is especially profound. It reframes remembering as not a passive act, but an intentional spiritual discipline that unlocks power, faith, and a personal connection with Christ.
This chapter is both inspiring and actionable. It closes with reflection questions that encourage the reader to personalize the message and think deeply about their relationship with the Savior.
Final thoughts: If you’ve ever felt distant from Jesus Christ or longed for a deeper connection with Him, this chapter is a timely reminder that the path back is as simple—and as sacred—as choosing to remember. It’s an invitation to carry His image in our hearts, not just on Sundays, but always.
Navigating to Jesus: a Journey of Faith begins with a Preface titled "The Answer is Always Jesus" and that spoke to me, reminding me of a dear & wise friend of mine who always said "No matter the question, love is always the answer." These two phrases are tied together in this book, where we are reminded that Jesus is the Light, the life, the love - He is the answer. The authors of this book tell, through scripture and life experiences, how their journey of faith has led their progress in life and relationship with Jesus Christ.
An uplifting and motivational book that aims at helping us increase our faith in Jesus Christ. The authors talk about the four stages of faith: Simplicity, Complexity, Perplexity and Harmony--interspersed with stories from their own lives and others. They also discuss God's pattern of faith discovered in the Book of Mormon, which can be a very helpful pattern for each of us in our lives.
I received an ARC of this book, but the thoughts and rating are my own.
I love how doctrinally deep yet easy this book has been to read. It's hard for doctrinal-nonfiction books to be true page turners but this one is! And no matter what principle is being taught, it's always tied back to the Savior.
This is a great read to help you on your faith in Jesus journey whether looking to develop, grow or understand your faith. It will help you find meaning and purpose in your life while you face life's challenges and trials. Feeling His love will help you grow.
Navigating to Jesus is a heartfelt and transformative guide that leads readers from spiritual uncertainty to Christ-centered clarity, healing, and lasting purpose.
