Vindictive Queens #2

Stealing Natasha

Rate this book
He tried to break me. He doesn’t know you can’t break what’s already shattered.

I was nothing more than a pawn in my father’s twisted games—until Lachlan O'Donnell claimed me as his wife. He gave me one night of passion before stripping me of my dignity, my pride, and my self-respect.

But he wasn’t the only one who wanted vengeance, and when he carelessly gave me the opportunity, I took everything I wanted—including my power—and used his own weapon against him.

And then I went after everyone else who dared hurt an innocent person.

Lachlan says he regrets what he did to me. He vows to make things right—no matter what it takes.

I don’t trust him, and I can’t ever let myself forgive him—especially not when I still crave his touch.

When I’m offered a chance to join forces with him and execute the man who killed his brother, I reluctantly agree. Too many lives are at stake, and I can’t afford to let my feelings get in the way of taking down a monster.

Lachlan has other plans. With every kiss, every loving word, and every sweet promise I can’t help but believe, I fall deeper under his spell, despite the danger to my heart.

Can I forgive the man who tried to break me? Or will the past always hold us captive?

Having finished Breaking Donatella for the second time,i was ready for Stealing Natasha…..or so i thought.
With Raisa Greywood being so very generous to share the ARC,it meant i could dive in straight away….and come up for air after the last page.
Hint:the series title,Vindictive Queens?? PERFECT!!
What is it with these men, thinking they could use a girl to get their revenge and not having to pay for it afterwards??

Lachlan O’Donnell finally had everything in place to make Steve Ashland pay for the desth of his brother all those years ago.
He’d bought up his debts, and forced him to hand over his precious daughter Natasha in marriage.
The spoilt chit wouldn’t know what hit her….he’d give her their weddingday, and night, and then come morning, she’d find herself in a totally different world!
One where she was nothing more than a slave, living in his kennel with his dog Dante, being forced to obey his commands in front of his staff.
Only, when he and his sister Saoirse finally met the girl at the wedding, his sister started to have her doubts…..
But he wouldn’t be swayed, and went ahead as planned.
It took him little time to show Natasha her place, and he trained her mercilessly during the following weeks to become the thing he’d wanted.
But when he was ready to show her father what his beloved daughter had become, things didn’t go as planned……at all!

Natasha was so very ready to leave the house she’d been living in!
After her mother’s death, her father only showed abuse, and encouraged the staff to do the same.
Now,he seemed to have sold her hand in marriage….and all she could hope for,was a husband who wasn’t as bad as him.
His sister seemed nice enough….and when she finally met her husband,he seemed kind.
Their weddingnight was most wonderful…..but the day after, she found she was in a new sort of hell!
Determined to get through it,and hoping she was right about the purpose, she endured.
Until her moment came, and she finally got the thing she’d been wishing for for all those years!

With everything going as it did,Lachlan, who’d already regretted using Natasha the way he did,set her free.
But she wasn’t done with him yet….he was going to know exactly what he did,and feel it!
Lachlan took everything she dished out, hoping for a second chance.
Because the girl he thought he married wasn’t the woman she turned out to be.

Natasha may have sweet and a little naive at first, but she grew a backbone, and turned bad-ass!
I loved how she payed Lachlan back for what he did,and i loved how she was honest enough to admit she’d gone too far.
Lachlan was a man consumed by revenge, but he never harmed Natasha.
And once he saw what he’d done, who she really was,he started to make amends.
I loved them both to bits, and enjoyed how they found their happy after.
And i enjoyed seeing a few old friends again!!

Lachlan and his bride, where does it go so horribly wrong ?

Lachlan had waited over ten years to get to the man he believed killed his elder brother, she had come to him and was nothing like he had been told. She was reported to have slept around, a spoiled princess, yet his first impression was that she was quiet and insecure, apologising for everything and would not even look him in the eye.

What did he care she was a means to an end and what his cruelty created he could never have foreseen and she had taught him so much. Her humility whilst he treated her as an animal had never broken, she had shamed him and on that final day of his shaming in front of her father she had surprised him and he would never allow himself to under estimate his wife again, it could cost him his life.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough, once you begin reading it is impossible to stop till you reach the end and discover the outcome for these two individuals.

Lachlan and Natasha

Wow. It was like listening to an episode of snapped. Natasha is forced to marry Lachlan who plans to humiliate her and return her to her father as revenge. Soon everything he thought he knew is wrong and his plans backfired. I enjoyed listening to this Natasha at first wanted to see the bright side of this arrangement just to see she's in the same environment as she's just left but different punishments. She realizes why Lachlan is doing what he is doing and once he realizes it was for nothing, Natasha takes life into her own hands. I love how Natasha doesn't let any of the things that she went through her whole life until she is freed let her be a victim, instead she moves forward and what she ends up doing I find awesome.

Stealing Natasha is the second book in the Vindictive Queen series. This book is about Lachlan and Natasha and was told from both of their points of view.

Lachlan wants revenge and the best way is to take it out on his enemy's daughter by marrying her and turning her into a slave. Natasha is excited to get out of her evil father's hands, but doesn’t realize what she is walking into.

Once Lachlan does this to Natasha and the time comes to show off to her father things don't go as planned. Now, Lachlan sees a different side to Natasha. Can she forgive him and they work together to take the bad guys down?

Can he prove to her he will be there for her no matter what? Will they get their happy ending? Or did too much happen in the past to rip them apart for good?

This was a truly captivating read that sunk its claws in viciously and held tight. My heart ached and shattered and cheered for Natasha as this raw, dark and gritty story unfolds. I hate to say it, but I just absolutely loathed Lachlan (and his sister) and honestly for me personally there wasn't a shovel big enough to dig them out of the hole they dug themselves into.

This book has a bit of everything. There’s so many different kinks that are explored I was in heaven!! The puppy play was my favourite. It’s a great book with robust characters. A great performance.

What a story I didn’t know what to think when I started reading it. Natasha lived with her brutal father and was always covered in bruises from a young age. I got upset reading this story because even after her marriage the brutality didn’t end she had one wedding night where she felt loved. Then the brutality started again with studs in various places and a branding on her backside. When they shaved her head I. Couldn’t work out how I felt. Then to be shoved in a dog cage and tread like a dog or named slave. I cried at this point. After six weeks her life got better.

When I read the first half in a previous anthology I was screaming by the end, "what? that was it? But there's got to be more." Thankfully the author provides us with the WHOLE story. You may hate Dante by the end of the first half, I know I surely did. His form of revenge on her father humiliated Nastaha and shaped her into a slave. Interestingly enough, it was Natasha who got the ultimate revenge on her father. And showed Dante just what an a$$ he'd been. Then she left him. But the author had a plan. Natasha went through a transformation, turning herself into a completely different person. And Dante still wants her, is willing do anything to prove himself to her and even when he wants to be the ultimate protector, is willing to allow himself to do what's best for her. I loved watching the progression of their growth and how they found their way to each other. They had the HEA is was hoping for.

I really enjoyed this book. All the things Natasha went through first by her father then by Lachlan had me so mad for her. I loved how she became this badass FMC.

I did the audio and really enjoyed the way the narrators brought Natasha and Lachlan to life.

This was my first time reading this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m a sucker for mafia romance, especially when the Irish are involved, and Eric absolutely delivered the Irish brogue for Lachlan’s character that I love so much.

I’ll be frank: this is a dark romance. There’s a heavy dose of BDSM, but not in the usual pleasurable sense. It’s used as a tool for torture. The first part of the book was a rough read, and I almost stopped because I wasn’t prepared for the intensity. Natasha is forced into marriage with Lachlan, not knowing that he has a long-standing vendetta against her father, whom he blames for his brother’s murder. The heartbreaking part is that Natasha genuinely hoped Lachlan would be her knight in shining armor, rescuing her from her abusive father, only to find that he had a payback plan that made him appear as evil as her father. I’m fine with BDSM in romance, but I personally don’t enjoy humiliation, sadomasochism, or pet play. At one point, Lachlan literally cages Natasha and treats her like a dog. That nearly broke the story for me. However, I received a free copy of this audiobook to provide an honest review, so I pushed through. And I’m glad I did. Natasha’s inner strength eventually shines through. By the end, she embraces the very title Lachlan tried to demean her with (she showed him exactly what a b*tch actually is), and I was cheering her on harder than Jennifer Lopez in Enough.

I want to make something clear: I don’t rate books lower just because of a trigger. I know some reviewers do. But for me, Greywood’s writing, pacing, and style are absolutely solid, and the author’s craft deserves recognition even if certain elements weren’t to my taste. She also includes thorough trigger warnings and even a heartfelt reminder that her books are works of fiction meant to be read responsibly on her website. This is dark romance. If that’s not your thing, there are plenty of lighter, “vanilla” romances out there, but this isn’t one of them. Overall, I’m glad I stuck with the story. Natasha’s resilience and the female rage payoff were fantastic. I also loved the cameo of the couple from the first book, and I really hope that one gets an audio release too. It’ll be an instant purchase for me. If you’re comfortable with the darker side of BDSM and enjoy heroines who rise from the ashes fiercer than ever, this book might be for you. If not, best to pass.

Lachlan O’Donnell had a clear plan to make Steve Ashland pay for his brother's death. He took control of Steve's debts, forcing him to marry off his daughter, Natasha. The spoiled girl was unaware of the storm ahead. Lachlan would give her a lavish wedding, but by morning, she would be thrust into a harsh new reality—becoming his slave and being kenneled with his dog, Dante.

When Lachlan and his sister Saoirse met Natasha at the wedding, Saoirse began questioning the type of person Natasha was, but Lachlan pushed forward. He quickly asserted Natasha's place, training her to become the obedient wife he desired. However, when he intended to showcase her transformation to her father, things took an unexpected twist.

Desperate to escape her father's abuse, Natasha hoped her new husband would be an improvement. While the wedding night was magical, the reality that followed was a nightmare. Determined to endure, she seized the opportunity she had waited for.

Realizing his mistakes, Lachlan set Natasha free, but she was not finished with him. She aimed to make him feel the consequences of his actions. Despite his obsession with revenge, he never harmed her, and once he recognized who she truly was, he sought to make amends. I admired Natasha's transformation into a strong woman who held Lachlan accountable, and I loved their journey to find happiness together, along with the chance to reconnect with previous characters unexpectedly.

Full disclosure: I have mixed feelings on this story. I was sucked in at the very beginning, very engaged in the audio... then... some kink I didn't see coming and is not something I am interested in at all began (pet kink). At first, I thought, okay it will just brush over it and move on because I had not seen any notifications about this aspect--- but naw, that didn't happen and if I am being completely honest I almost DNF this book. The saving aspect is I listen with Bluetooth speakers while doing other things, and I was highly involved in those activities so going to my tablet to hit stop wasn't a high priority. Hence, the story redeemed itself. Natasha and Lachlan's volatile relationship intrigued me- Lachlan's groveling was quite epic as he fought to get her back because he realized how stupid he'd been and how much he loved her. He had some pretty heartfelt quotes and speeches that impressed me. She didn't make it easy for him, nor should she have because man was he a big ole jack-ss, and some humor ensued that had me laughing out loud. The kink unfortunately was brought back up some, but low key enough I didn't cringe as bad as the first time. I was genuinely happy they got their revenge and a happy ending after some heart stopping moments and suspense. The narrators did a terrific job.

I was one of those people who said ‘what happened’ when I read the first part of this story in an anthology so I was thrilled to know it has been completed and what a story it is. The second part is very different as Natasha comes into herself and makes Lachlan pay for what he did to her. It was really amusing as there was no nastiness, it was just the opposite, she asked him to donate significant amounts of money to women’s shelters and to take in unadoptable animals. Lachlan could have said no but he didn’t and even came to care or the animals, it was really heartwarming. Natasha knew she had gone too far but wasn’t prepared to back down. Ella and Christian are now back as well as others from Breaking Donatella and even Club Apocalypse has a mention. Now an expert assassin and quickly falling in love with Lachlan Natasha gets her revenge and the ending is lovely with a nice surprise.

This is a story about revenge and consequences. It is the second story in the "Vindictive Queens" series and can be enjoyed as a stand alone. Such a fitting series title too! This story is about Natasha and Lachlan. He is has been planning his revenge for ten long years. He is forcing the man he thinks is responsible for his brothers death, to hand over his daughter in marriage. He will treat her right on their wedding day and that night then he will start his revenge. Natasha is looking for escape from her fathers abuse. She is tossed into an arraigned marriage and woke up to another sort of hell. This story is a little dark and gritty with abuse, cruelty, punishment, awakening, karma and much more. WOW!

Wow—this gets dark, FAST, there’s no ‘easing’ into it. Interesting approach…

Written in first-person POV.
Past tense.

Forced marriage.
Crime families.
Mafia romance.
DV.
Abduction.
T0rture.
P3t training.
Tr4fficking.

Overall:
This is a fast-paced, dark read with all sorts of tr!ggers and some really messed up scenes, and lots of k!nks portrayed, etc. A somewhat twist-y plot, while at the same time being sorta typical of crime family / mafia type reads.

Fun and don’t blink, or you might miss a major plot point!

3.5 stars.

This was my first book in this series and by this author. I had a hard time rating it. I ended up with a 3 star because the audiobook was good the kink just wasn't it for me. This was the first "pet play" I've read and it didn't appeal to me. However, the narrators did a good job, and the rest of the story was absolutely interesting. Which is why I struggled so much with a rating because I'm sure if you're into pet play it will be something that ranks a lot higher. I love the way Natasha blossomed into the spider! Overall, it's a good book but I probably won't listen again.

Raisa Greywood's Vindictive Queens is fantastic.
I absolutely loved both books and can't wait for the next addition.
Ella and Natasha proved they didn't need a man to handle them or their problems.
Natasha and Lachlan both changed so much during the book. Natasha proves to Lachlan she doesn't need him, but her life is better with him after he realizes his mistakes. I'm glad they got an HEA. And if you enjoy Kicka$$ women these books are for you

Brilliant narration from Eiza Nyx and Eric Corbyn

This book is full of amazing characters, trust me you will want to shout at in frustration and joy. Or clip around the head.
Lachlan is full of revenge and angry. Humiliation is what drives him on, that is until his anger clears and he sees the damage he has done. Now forgiveness is what he seeks. Natasha is used of pain from those who suppose to love you, her inner strength is strong and shows the men in her life her back bone of steel.

I was delighted how this book ended but I still wanted more. All the characters are real and alive I loved Natasha from page one and I was cheering her on as she became Spider. But Lachlan I disliked from page one but he evolved and grew. This is a full and interesting story with lots of twists and turns. Also plenty of hot erotic sexy scenes. A wonderful and entertaining story. I hope that there will be more from this series.

Honestly, I didn't like Lachlan at all. Only when Natasha was set free and began her transformation did I see that Lachlan realized what he had done. The story itself was wonderful and very well written but even though she made him work for her again, I still have resentment towards him. This will still be a book that I will highly recommend though.

I really enjoyed this book. At first, it was hard to stomach the treatment Natasha received from her father then her new husband Lachlan, but once she was free from both of them, she turned into one dangerous woman. Her mission, save woman and children from being trafficked. Now she's the one set on revenge.

This is a dark story of revenge but ends in a HEA. Great narration by Eiza Nyx and Eric Corbyn.

Wow I could not get enough and this played out fantastic. The things Lachlan did to Natasha was sick but she held her own and it made her stronger as she evolved from shy to someone to fear.
The writing is amazing and intense but so memorable.
