Katie Flynn was born in Norwich and attended Norwich High School, where she was extremely happy and extremely undistinguished. Published at the tender age of eight, in Enid Blyton's Sunny Stories, she joined a Writers’ Circle as an adult, publishing short stories, articles, etc; only turning to novels in 1971 because the postal strike cut off her main source of income! At first she wrote under several different names – Judith Saxton, Judy Turner, Lydia Balmain, Judith Arden – but her Katie Flynn books were a delight to write and proved far more popular than she had dreamed. She has now published nearly ninety novels, twenty-seven of which are Flynns. Her most recent titles are: Lost Days of Summer and Christmas Wishes.
Definitely one of my favourite Katie Flynn books, I have read quite a few and this was a really good read. It's all about Lottie, who performs on stage at the Gaiety Theatre, Liverpool along with her mother, Louella. Lottie has dreams that seem to point to the time in her life that she has no memories of. Her mother told her she had a accident when she was six which caused her to loose her memory, but was reluctant to give poor Lottie many details of the first six years of her life. As the story unfolds Lottie has more dreams and eventually remembers parts if her past. I really enjoyed the different plot, kept my interest.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this one - it’s not one I picked but that came to me via my late mother-in-law. I liked most of characters, which kept me reading. I thought the story could have moved on a little bit more quickly; the suspense wasn’t all that suspenseful. I just wanted the information and couldn’t quite work out why it wasn’t forthcoming! I’d suggest this would be an ok holiday read, like if you wanted something to do while laying on the beach. It’s the first Katie Flynn book I’ve read and if another one landed in my lap I’d read it. Not sure I’d seek others out though....
A Disappointed read. I usually enjoy Kate Flynn books but this was a very slow story line, with no suspense or exilleration. I agree with another review only the last quarter of the book was interesting enough , but the rest of the book was not for me .
I love Katie Flynn, but this was a bit if a slow drawn out story.....until that us the last 1/4 when it picked up pace and had a change if direction and lovely finish .
wasnt all that impressed ,the story was far to dragged out in the middle ,then by the end I wanted more about the relationships she has found through her dreams,Quite disappointed as I love this author wouldnt rush to re read
