Virginia Nelson believed them when they said, “Write what you know.” Small town girl writing small town romance, her characters are as full of flaws, misunderstandings, and flat out mistakes as Virginia herself. When she’s not writing or plotting to take over the world, she likes to hang out with the greatest kids in history, play in the mud, drive far too fast, and scream at inanimate objects. Virginia likes knights in rusted and dinged up armor, heroes that snarl instead of croon, and heroines who can’t remember to say the right thing even with an author writing their dialogue. Her books are full of snark, sex, and random acts of ineptitude—not always in that order.

A cute read, an interesting idea and a nice result. As you can tell by the series name this is a book that carries a charming little trait, the touch of the signs, Taurus to be exact.

I may not be a Taurus, but my other half is and i 'm well aware of the stubbornness and the unyielding personality. I guess those are characteristics that are showing very well in this book.

Gray and Robbie are both determined, driven and absolutely adorable together. Being friends since they were little kids, they never had the courage to admit their love out loud, but after a tragic event that scars both their lives, they have no other chance but to take a much needed step forward.

All in all it's a sweet, tender and loving book, with a real story and good characters.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- I loved them as kids.
- Sometimes the story felt too flat.
- Gray is strong.
- I loved the shower scene.

As someone who lost a relative to driving drunk, Forever Devoted by Virginia Nelson kind of hit me in the solar plexus. It was a well written and well thought out story that gave the reader a good look at the consequences of those actions without being preachy. It was also a very special friends to lovers romance that brought tears to my eyes with the devotion one man had to make the woman he’s always loved whole enough to accept the love he feels for her. This wasn’t an easy story but it was very real and while there was always a love between these two it morphed into so much more in the aftermath of the accident that changed their lives forever.

Robbie Jacobs and Gray Smythe (not Smith) have been friends since childhood. Both had home lives that left a lot to be desired and they formed their own family their “pack” as young children and along the way added a couple of others to their circle. Now grown with two the pack married with children Robbie is determined to make Gray finally see her for the woman she has become but one tragic mistake turns their lives upside down.

From the first scene of these two together the connection is strong and while it changes as adults there is an underlying closeness that can’t be denied.

Flat out Gray is a remarkable man and friend for everything he does for Robbie as she battles her way back. I love that he never gives up hope, that he refuses to believe anything other than she’ll be okay, and that he loves and protects her with all his heart. I hated how Robbie suffered and could easily understand her frustrations with Gray given the fact that she was IN LOVE with him and felt he didn’t feel the same way. Her life was turned upside down and inside out and while she is grateful for Gray’s help she is also trying to figure out a way to move on and let him lead his own life. They struggled and a lot of it was because they didn’t quite communicate what they wanted from each other, but I also understood that Robbie didn’t want her heart broken and Gray was trying to be the good guy and not take advantage of her weaken state.

Through everything; their friendship, the caring and absolute trust they had in one another was there and in the end the utter devotion that they had for one another led them down the path to their happily ever after. Packed with emotion yet sensually sexy Forever Devoted by Virginia Nelson is a story of a friendship that blossomed into so much more and I loved it.

Whew. I'm a fan of Carrie Ann RyanCarrie Ann Ryan and until Virgina Nelson she was the only Fated Desires author I'd read. Now I'm a fan of two authors from FD.

First let me say the cons about this book. It's short. But it's MEANT to be short. It's part of the 'Tempting Signs' line from Fated Desires.

That's the con. The only con being that sadly this book didn't extend the way I would have loved it to and give the main characters the time they should have gotten. But again, that wasn't the purpose of this line.

Now the pros.

Ms. Nelson caught me from the prologue. With me, that is hard to accomplish. Most of the time I need to give a new author I'm checking out at least one or two full chapters. Returning to the con of the length, if I had come in without the prologue I wouldn't have been as hooked on the story. But when you learn about the history between the two characters, and then what happens within the main flesh of the story, you're hooked.

I don't believe in giving away info that happens within a book so I won't here. But I will say that if this is Ms. Nelson's short story, I can't wait to read a full length where she can go all out with no holds barred.

Overall I really enjoyed this addition to the Tempting Signs line. It's well written and I would encourage others to give Virgina Nelson a chance :)

Gray that boy is so blind and dumb at times, "Robs, everyone notices your boobs. They're enormous." He snagged his beer and walked away from her." That is some moral support right there, but there is a light that comes on but I'm thinking Gray is thinking that it's too late, "can you get my back, too?" If she realized he would be more than happy to rub her wherever she wanted, she would either laugh at him or hate him." Once the boy removes his head from the a** things get interesting, "pushing his hips into hers, he leaned closer so that their breaths mingled. "I want you, dammit." When Gray is at ease I liked his person a lot more, "you're already testing my vows, aren't you? Because even if you're not in the mood, we're having sex tonight. Probably twice." I enjoyed this book I liked it a lot, it shows that sometimes second chances can work out, well that's if your not blind to it and aren't stubborn.

This is a story of devotion and survival. When they first met Robbie and Gray made a vow to each other to be family, protect and hunt together.

Thus begins a friendship for the ages. Although their group got larger as they got older, they were always the closest.

While out with Gray drowning her sorrows over yet another break-up, Robbie makes a choice that will change their lives forever. With her judgement clouded by alcohol, she waves off Gray's warning and offer of a cab and leaves the bar with Jason who is too intoxicated to drive. Then the truck rolls over.

Gray never leaves her side at the hospital waiting for her to wake from the coma. Then when she is able to be released takes her to his home and continues with her care as she recovers as much as she can from a brain injury.

Talk about frustrations, neither of these two seem to get it.

Hard-headed and stubborn Robbie doesn't seem to understand that the only reason Gray isn't jumping her bones is that she needs to recover. Then Gray doesn't get that she needs her independence as she gets better.

I laughed and cried throughout this book. Very emotional.

Tempting Signs book two, Taurus. Forever Devoted is a wonderful story about two people who have known each other just about all their lives and always loved each other but never told each other how they felt. It takes a bad decision and a horrible accident for them to come to terms with their feelings and finally admit it to each other. It is a very touching story, a best friends to lovers trope.

Robbie and Gray became friends when they both needed someone to count on, both from abusive families they became the only family that mattered. Robbie breaks up with her boyfriend because he thinks there is something more between Robbie and Gray than just friendship. It's true to a certain extent she has always been in love with Gray but scared to say anything about because he won't feel the same, she couldn't be more wrong. It was love at first sight for Gray and when Robbie chose to get in the car drunk of her ass with some guy she met at the bar also three sheets to the wind and gets in a horrible accident and ends up in a coma and when she finally wakes up she can't remember what happened and the doctors are uncertain if she will ever walk again. Gray steps up and takes charge of her recovery and all her needs finally ready to open up to her about his love. But Robbie is tired of being taken care of and is scared of what needing Gray as much as she does will do to their friendship.

It's a good quick read and very satisfying romance.

Audiobook- narration, Suzanne Barbetta, really good. Good storyteller, good characterizations, really nice listen.

This is my first book in this series and I really enjoyed it. My only complaint is that it's 2:56 and I would not have complained if there was more!

Gray and Robbie began 'the pack' with a silly pledge to each other as children after stumbling upon each other in a muddy ditch. Both children with unloving and abusive parents, they forge a friendship that is forever and they are devoted to each other.

When Robbie makes a bad choice and ends up in a horrific accident, Gray stays by her side, making huge personal sacrifices to nurse her back to health. These are two really likable characters and this is a terrific friends to lovers tale of two young people fighting their mutual attractions while fighting a bigger battle towards Robbie's recovery.

I thought this was a sweetly romantic story and as I said before, my only complaint is that it isn't longer. Really enjoyed the characters and just wanted more time in their world. Definitely could re-listen to this one and would definitely listen to others in the series!

Robbie Jacobs is fighting to win back her body and a chance at love and Gray Smythe is sure he knows what's right and wrong in this heart warming contemporary romance.

One mistake and suddenly Robbie is having to depend on Gray, her best friend who has suddenly become the overprotective nurse and the reader can't help but get caught up in the heart wrenching emotions that flow from the pages as Robbie fights to get her life back all while trying to hold back her heart. The attraction between them is certainly strong enough and the love is there but Gray and Robbie have lots of emotional issues to overcome. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader's attention from the very beginning while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with emotional turmoil and romance.

The well written scenes and details bring the story to life and the reader feels all the emotions that the characters go through right along with them so be prepared for some tears, some laughter, some passion and of course cheers as couple work to reach their happily ever after.

This is a wonderful friends to lovers story. Robbie & Gray became best friends as kids and formed their own little pack. Now years later they are still best friends with a massive crush on each other that neither knows of or is willing to risk their friendship over. That is until Robbie is nearly killed in a car accident and Gray takes over her care forcing them closer and further apart.
It is so much fun watching these two circle around each other and if Robbie doesn’t want Gray I do. These two Taurus are as bull headed as their sign. Forever Devoted is a quick sweet read.

Gary is by her side through everything, and battling with new feelings. The life or death situation has forced him to examine the way he really feels about Robbie. As she struggles to regain all her abilities he does his best to hold back his emotions. I loved watching Gary come to terms with his true feelings. His care, concern, and protective nature completely charmed me. I adored him from the beginning.

This was a very sweet romance. Friends-to-lovers is one of my favourite tropes.

This is my first book by Virginia Nelson, and I quite enjoyed the way she wrote this story.

Though I know she's just one author in the series, this book made me curious about the others.
