I absolutely loved this book—just as much as the first—and once again found it impossible to put down. From the very beginning, the story is action-packed and balanced beautifully with a strong romantic plot that kept me completely hooked. This installment continues following Draven and Aiya as they navigate the life they’re building together, and I really enjoyed seeing their relationship deepen as they confront more complex emotions and challenges.
We learn significantly more about Draven’s backstory, as well as the druid and the world surrounding them, which added depth and richness to the narrative. The character development felt natural and meaningful, especially as the story explored heavier, more emotional themes. Like the first book, this one delivers its share of heartbreak—sometimes painful, but always impactful and well-earned.
One of my favorite elements was the use of the Gaidhlig language. At first, I was a bit unsure about not having immediate translations, but I quickly realized how intentional that choice was. Since Aiya herself doesn’t understand the language, it allowed me to experience that same confusion and immersion right alongside her. The inclusion of a glossary and translations at the end was the perfect touch and made the experience feel even more thoughtful.
Overall, this is a fantastic continuation of the first book, expanding the world, deepening the characters, and raising the emotional stakes. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next and am eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.
