Somebody Else's Husband

Rate this book
Tammie and Mike are married with three children. Lately, Mike has been making the typical moves of a cheater, working late and hiding his phone. Tammie is suspicious and convinced that Mike's attention is on someone else. That is, until he sweeps her off of her feet with a romantic night that she will never forget. All of her worries are washed away with ever touch, kiss and stroke. Confidence in her man and marriage replaces her previous suspicions. Then, as luck would have it, evidence of Mike's infidelity smacks her in the face. It's a hard dose of reality. Yet, what hurts much worse is the realization of who the side bitch is.

After cheating on Tammie off and on for years, Mike has finally ran into the side bitch from hell. She has fallen in love with him and she just won't let go. Then a wicked turn of events reveals his infidelity, and Mike is forced to realize that this is one side bitch that will never go away.

This story will take you on a wild ride full of hills, dips, and curves filled with romance, pain, betrayal, and lots of drama all intertwined in one emotional roller coaster.

LOL
Have you ever laughed while reading a book and not because it's funny??
...next thing I knew vomit was everywhere. Tammie was now on the floor hurling her insides away while Rachel was doing the same thing over by the bathroom door....
Effing crazy but this describes the book best!!

Btw, I lost count of the number of kids these peeps have between them.
Oh, and who's the h and who's the H?
Going by who has the most sex scenes together (like 1-2 vs gazillions).....we have a winning couple!!!!

ETA: sorry, but I still have a crazy grin on my face.

Re read 1\5\24 added 1\2 star 3.5 stars as it really is quite a dramatic tale .The cheater Mike has quite The laizzez- faire attitude towards cheating! His wife's bf,although not his first affair ,it is the one that dooms his marriage. I am not sure what to think of Tammie, first beating the poop out of the offender, then forgiving...then once the babes on the scene, with their stolen names ...those meant to be hers and hubs names for future progeny w Mike...She has had it..rightly so! Now I am going to have to continue the series!😆

Recomendo!

I didn't know the author and I enjoyed the story, the story is realistic and can happen to any woman.
Our heroine is brutally betrayed by her best friend and husband. He betrays a lasting marriage and 3 children ... her husband is a real jerk. The treacherous friend is a bitch.
The unfolding of the story is very good and I liked the attitude of the heroin.

added a star because she DOES file for divorce at the end of this trainwreck. But it was tough going with this martyr of an h.

H cheats on h multiple times with multiple women (granted she's only sure of the multiple times thing) and gets the OW who happens to be the h's best friend pregnant with twin boys.

Even after all this, she continues to babysit OWs children and even goes to the hospital when OW is in labor. I wish she did a few more things for herself

Boy

This was a hard book to swallow. All I have to say is Tammy was definitely one of the strongest women I had ever read about. To find out your husband is cheating is hard enough but to find out it is with your best friend is devastating. I don't know if I could forgive like she did. But she had a strength that was so deep and I not only adored her character but envied her.

Never a Dull Moment
This book has twists and turns that promises to keep you away from idle hours on social media. We all dream of the "Supreme Sisterhood" but it comes with so many red flags and Patti Doss lays it out perfectly.
This book speaks of Real Storybook Love that we need and we meet the players that ruin our perspective. There is such thing as "Supreme Sisterhood" but as life would have it there's always "that one Chic"!
Take this ride with Patti Doss for the perfect "mindfreeze" and you won't be disappointed, my only regret is that I didn't read (the sample that had been in my Kindle for years) this book sooner. It would have saved me countless hours on Social Media!
This Book speaks volumes and is the epitome of "A Good Read"!

This Book is filled with sex, lies, love, lust and betrayal!
Michael made me sick to my stomach with his whoreish self!😠
He professed to love his wife but he kept thinking with the wrong head!!

Will there be forgiveness or will friends become enemies?
Will Jamal move on with his life and find true happiness or continue to pursue Tammi?
Will Persia's husband stop traveling so much and stay home with his family?
Will Sharon find a man who truly loves her?I

You know what they say to not judge a book by its cover? Well, it definitely does not apply here. This book is a (bad) Mexican soap opera, just like this cheesy cover. I was looking for books with a strong FMC who wouldn’t get the cheater back and someone recommended this book on Quora.. yeah, the plot is what I was looking for, but the execution is so so wrong. The writing just didn’t do for me. And what kind of chick author refuses to write “c0ck” or “cl1t” or “pu$$y”? It’s all censured as “he touched my sex” or “I went down to his erection and he licked my wet parts” 😂 are you for real? I’m wondering if this was written in 1960 or something similar.

Just wondering if wearing condoms were not a thing in 2014… because these people def don’t know the need of them, clearly. No wonder there are so many kids in this book and who knows which one belongs to whom! Afterall, absolutely nobody wore condoms at all.
Besides that.. WTF is this? I’m glad there’s not much of this author out there.. it’s shameful to women reading that a well educated psychiatrist would consider staying with a cheater husband who’s going to have kids with her bff while a totally unattached man is declaring his love to her. WTF?

“Somebody Else’s Husband” may have been the first book of Authoress Patti Doss that I have read, but it is not the last. I was looking for different authors that I had not read any of their work before when I came across this book. I read this book within 3 ½ hours. The pace of the storyline was perfect for me: not too fast and not too slow. I prefer stories that give just enough back story that flows with the main story and not overdo it with pages of back story to fill up space that draws the story out more than it has to be. There were a few grammatical/ spelling/ mixing up of characters names in places. But, it was not overly done, so it was not a distraction from the book, which is something else I truly appreciate.

Michael/Mike (Mr. Faultless): He is not faultless, but he tries to act like he is in many ways. There are plenty of “Mikes” in the real world that don’t want to take responsibility for their actions or contributions to certain situations. Although, I disliked him I couldn’t completely write him off based on him stepping up in other areas. Only thing is how long is that going to last? Will he be able to handle the consequences of the actions he made?

Rachel (Ms. Craving): She craved attention, love, affection, etc. Like many women do yet for the wrong reasons and from the wrong person. Despite having a tragic past that no one should ever endure when the pain is not dealt with you act out in the most desperate ways. Usually, it results in ignoring the consequences of such actions in an attempt to “cure” the agony. I got a feeling that this was not the first time she acted this way or being in a similar situation but never thought it would result in true isolation from loyal individuals by her deeds. The question now is she going to let the situation go? Or if she is going to become the overly possessive psycho?

Tammie (Ms. Keen): She showed the most strength yet she knew when things just didn’t feel right. Intuition tends always to be correct. However, most do not want to face reality or the facts that it could be correct. Like many people in real life they “try” to fix things when they know it is too broken. You can forgive, but you never forget even when you try there is always that trigger to bring it all back. Vulnerability and emotions do not make you weak but human. Everyone has a breaking point. However, is she really ready to leave it all behind? Is the grass greener on the other side or is that more drama?

I am ready for part two to see what other drama unfolds for I have a feeling this was just the tip of the iceberg. Something also tells me that in part 2 of this series Persia is going to show up and show out. I am glad I took a chance on reading this author’s work.

I can't say enough about this book. I couldn't see the twists and turns in this book coming. From the start, I thought for sure that Tammie would be the one cheating on her husband because of her talking with the guy that she saw at the park. Boy was I wrong. The entire book touches on the plethora of emotions felt when there is infidelity in a relationship. Guilt, hurt, pain, and betrayal. I could see myself relating to each of the characters, except for Michael, because pain in the past can definitely manifest in the future. I appreciated the fact that the author made the main character human but with a heart when dealing with the issues in her life. So many times you read a book about the pettiness that can occur when someone is dealing with their pain but not in this situation. This book was a great read. I couldn't put it down and literally stayed up half the night reading it. Patti Doss does not disappoint with this novel. It is no wonder why it has stayed at the top of the Amazon best selling list. Pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

I have read a lot of books where women found their significant other cheating on them. This is one of the best ones because one, each character point of view described the actions and the events in their point of view. Not many books done that with the precise time and place of the event. Two, the story was well written, not only describing what and how the characters was in their physical state, but also in their mental and emotional state. And three, and the most important, it was as close to reality as many of the books I've read. Describing their emotional state as well as the decisions and actions of each character, I cannot say there is not a man nor female would not relate to each character. Even though it was dramatic, this book showed class over rachetness, and expressing the old saying, "without trust and loyalty, there's no love."

Somebody Else's Husband

This was an excellent read. I tried to empathize and sympathize with Rachel, but I had nothing for her. As a grown woman she should have made better decisions. Even with what happened as a child, she should have gotten counseling. The stand she took and kept taking, showed her selfish intentions. She didn't want to change her choices, she wanted what wasn't hers to have. Mike was just as wrong, and he paid for it. I admired the friendship and support Persia, Sharon, and Tammie showed one another. I love how Tammie ended the story. This is one whole book. Definitely recommended.

Yes

This was a really good story and finally a fully finished novel with no signs of a part 2.. as a reader I really appreciate that..I do think the author should have added a epilogue at the end for an update on everybody...because there is not enough room for another part to this story but it would have been nice to know how everything turned out... Overall a good story with a few lessons and brought tears to my eyes a few times... I really loved Tammie's character her strength was EVERYTHING in my opinion...good job to the author

Wow duke men are just literally unbelievable

Rachel and Mike were just so wrong in every way conceivable. A women's intuition hardly ever steers her wrong. Tammie should have paid attention to the signs and listened to her gut. I commend her for trying to do the right thing but I'm so glad she came to her senses. Jamal is just what she needs to get over her sorry excuse of a husband

Good girls ain't no fun

This was a good book, the betrayal lies and relationship between best friends.. If I was Tammie I would have done the same thing, yes Michael made a mistake and yes he loves his wife, but you don't do that to your wife!! Rachel would never ever be a friend of mines, hurt in all betrayed by her uncle, but she should have known her boundaries.. Way to go Pattie!!

Great Book!!!

This book so really good. This was the first book I read by this author and she didn't disappoint. This book really shows you how to deal with different life situations. I felt sorry for Tammie, but she definitely found a lot of strength to get through the days. Her friends definitely were there for her through thick and thin and that was great. Mike should've known better. But hey he made his bed and now he has to lay in it. I cant wait to read part 2 now.

Somebody Else's Husband

My goodness, how much can one woman take? The character Mike pissed on his marriage and children. As for Tammie's BFF Rachel getting pregnant by her husband Mike, that broke their bond for life. This book was a great read and I will introduce it to my book club members!

This book is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cried I laughed I was angry but his book was so real and couples actually go through this stuff . Mike was wrong and so was Rachel but Tammie was a woman of strength. I wish this book would have never ended because I would have loved to see the reaction of Rachel to Mike after the birth of the babies!!!! Great read

Decent read

As I was getting into the book I was getting really upset. How Rachel do that to her best friend ? And how could mike say he love his wife, but go out and do his dirt with not one but 2 females? I was hoping Tammie would just divorce him and by the end of the book I got my wish.
