Trish Morey always fancied herself a writer, but was sternly advised that she better better think about getting a real job instead. Which Trish figures must be why she spent her university years washing dishes in a Chinese restaurant by night and picking gherkins for an Adelaide Hills primary producer by day. (Enough to put you off "real jobs" for life).
It was another twelve years, an accounting career and two babies on that Trish once again turned her mind to writing. it was a further eleven years (and two more babies:)) before Trish sold her first book to Harlequin Presents, and her dream of being a published author came true.
Some forty books later, Trish is now an award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author of some 40+ books. Trish still loves writing romance but these days combines it with all the fun, drama and sisterhood of women, family and girlfriends.
When she’s not out traveling the world in search of inspiration for her stories, Trish lives with her husband, Daisy their over enthusiastic Cavoodle pup, Daisy, and Leo, their very old and totally unenthusiastic cat, down on the glorious South Coast of South Australia where the waves crash over the granite rocks and splash upon the golden sands.
"Captive of Kadar" is the story of Amber and Kadar.
When Amber decides to go to Turkey on a whirlwind trip after finding her long term boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend, she is spellbound by the place's beauty. An old diary had revealed her great-great namesake grandmother's adventures there, but with pages missing, she is excited to explore the city.
However, a scuffle in the market leads to the insolvent of the police, and she is unexpectedly rescued by a dark stranger, whose eyes had been following her for a while like an animal hunting its prey.
Instantly attracted, they decide to have one night of intense pleasure together, but as her tour company ends up scamming her, she is soon held "captive" by her passionate lover. Extremely sexy and well written story with an experienced and confident heroine, a brooding scarred hero, a tragic past, hot hot hot boinking, some thieving drama, a bracelet of love, mild angst, grovel and a sweet HEA.
Both h and H were likable, and I love me a non-whiny heroine who goes for what she wants.
Loved this one it is so very sensual and sexy you will need a fan and tissues as you journey through a very scenic Turkey and this is a place I now want to visit thanks to the descriptions in this story I do love my arm chair travelling but this story is beautiful heart warming and so very up lifting as Kadar finally opens up to someone other than his Desert Brothers Amber is the first woman ever that Kadar has felt he can talk to open up to and eventually fall in love with but he still does not fully trust her till the end. Amber Jones is on holiday in Turkey after being let down horribly by her ex and after reading part of her great great great grandmothers diary she decides to follow in her footsteps and see if she can find any clues to what really happened to her all those years ago all she has is a very pretty bracelet and part of the diary but when she arrives on her own and the tour she has book is cancelled and there is problems in the market she meets a man that she is so attracted to and she ends up in his care for the time that she is in Turkey. This story is hot and steamy as Kadar and Amber spend the days sight seeing and the nights in passion filled enjoyment be prepared for a journey that is filled with ups and downs as these two fall in love and open up to each other but trust is the last to come and it takes the insight of Mehmet Kadar's friend to make Kadar see the truth. Don't miss this one it is the third book in The Desert Brother's series and all of them have been wonderful and I am very much looking forward to Rashid's story.
Kadar Soheil Airmoez's brain is working extra time trying to figure out the true character of the beautiful woman he is aiding. Is she a damsel in distress? Or is she a thief? Whatever she is….Kadar knows one thing very clear without him having to contemplate hard and earnestly. She'll grace his bed for sure even before the stunning Turkish sun sets. Amber Jones is more than meets the eyes. Yes, she is one helluva beauty but her life hasn't been a smooth, obstacle free road. She has been betrayed and is seeking to follow in the footsteps of her very, very great grandmother. On her adventure, Amber meets a very sexy stranger. Sparks fly and romance brews and it isn't before long that things steam up between the sheets...
In CAPTIVE OF KADAR, author Trish Morey paints a vividly descriptive picture as she captures Kadar and Amber's romance perfectly even whilst the magically exotic Istanbul adds decadence to this beautiful story.
Captive of Kadar by Trish Morey was a well written romance with an intresting plotline set in the exotic and very beautiful Istanbul.
Amber is a damsel in distress type of heroine who in my opinion did not stand up enough to Kadar. She was likable because was warm hearted but a stronger stand against the hero would have made me respect her more. Kadar is an alpha kind of hero who wants Amber but the way he behaves with her half of the time shows the feelings are mostly sexual and based purely on lust.
The romance started as lust at first sight but slowly the characters developed more deeper feelings for each other but after finishing the story, I still believe their relationship was tending more towards the lust side than love.
Overall, I enjoyed Captive of Kadar but it didn’t really stand out compared to the author’s previous books and the other presents released this month.
Amber Jones visits Istanbul to follow the steps an ancestor took many years before. She runs into trouble in the marketplace when she is picked up by the police for theft. Kadar is in the marketplace at the same time and realizes she has been set up and comes to her aid. She is released to him but he must be accountable for her, which is difficult because he truly believes she is a thief. What starts as him keeping her near because of responsibility turns into much more as feelings he never had come to surface. Through all the beautiful places their visit their relationship grows and Amber falls in love. Kadar feels deeply for her and decides he is going to ask her to stay, but another incident that happens makes him doubtful and it forces her to leave. Without trust their can be no future. He finds out that some things are not what they seem and the reality makes him search for the truth. A beautiful story that takes you to beautiful places in Turkey and a wonderful journey that makes two people fall in love. All lovers of romance will enjoy this book and the scenery is fantastic. You almost feel like you are there.

I loved this one. A fabulous choice of setting in Turkey - a country I’ve visited many times! The hero, Kadar and heroine, Amber are beautifully drawn - with flaws and weaknesses but also attractive and desirable qualities which help explain the attraction they have to one another. Both make mistakes but eventually they work things out. The love scenes are sensual and emotionally satisfying.
I felt these two were far more credible and sympathetic than many Mills and Boon protagonists. This a new author to me so I shall have to read more of her books!
"Morey’s lust-at-first-sight romance comes with a past mystery and harmful secrets that affect the present. The visual narrative brings everything to life, especially exotic Istanbul. This is one couple who deserve their happily ever after, and have the physical chemistry to back it up" (RT Book Reviews, 4 stars).
This book starts out with betrayal but it doesn't really hurt that much as what the main male character does to the female character, I don't think I could have forgiven him as easy as she does but I am glad they got their hea. Great story, would have liked more about her grandmother maybe a few bits from her diary etc. Did enjoy and I know others will to.
Not enough grovelling from the hero after so badly misjudging her character and insulting her. She caved far too easily. And I wasn't sold on a deep, true love between them - physical desire/lust, sure. The mystery of the ancestor and the travelogue component of the novel were interesting, although having been there I cannot agree that Istanbul is the most beautiful city on earth.
It started out ok with the perios of being a tourist ignorant of the visiting country’s law, but then it became boring with cliched topic of guy interested in a onenoght stand. The girl agrees and the deed is done. The interesting part in this book was the story of the ancestor. It brought about a mystery, solved only towards the end.
This was a good story. It is part of a friendship series of books. What is nice about this story is that it transports you to Istanbul. The Kadar is a loner, experience hardened soul but for some reason is knight in shining armor to the tourist in trouble Amber. Amber is on a journey to re discover herself and in a way on a mission to find out what her great grandma found so fascinating in the land that straddles Asia and Europe. They discover attraction and in the process find out that it is not simple. I truly enjoyed this one.
