This book pulled me in from the very first chapter. This is my 1st phycological thriller !! I truly wish the book was longer because I needed MORE !! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a short gripping story . Fantastic debut into writing!
Since reading Esma’s Game I have been locked in and even on days where I haven’t been able to read and finish it off, it’s been on my mind constantly. It’s been gripping! I was guessing the end game of the story, trying to work out if there’s a plot twist or if it’s as simple as Esma is a killer in disguise or if poor Jane was deluded. I like the fact that my last name (non-biological) was apart of the story for a very brief moment as Mrs Fletchers character died within one sentence haha! But I loved chapter 24, Jane sneakily leaving the police station without anyone noticing her, from the chapter 24, 25, 26 had my stomach churning filled with anxiety for what’s going to happen to Jane. Ooo the ending of this book was great, talk about shock factor every turn, also upset it ended there, I want moreee! Such a cliff hanger, I’m wondering what’s next for Jane, in a psychiatric hospital visited by Ava, Esma’s planned didn’t end there, ouuu Esma is nasty work haha. Onto Jane’s Gambit - house of doubt- book 2. I honestly cannot wait for the second book, I’m impatient already. It was well written, witty, psychologically compelling a brilliant thriller to say the least, Zak you deserve your flowers! Well done on your first book. Ever so proud of you my dear friend!
