OMG, I actually liked this!! But now that I’ve read some reviews, I realize I might be a toxic mess for enjoying it. 😔

WARNING‼️ Incoming omegaverse review. I will be discussing explicit content, if you don't like that, move on.

Let’s just get this out of the way: Grant? Hard pass. 🚩 This man was the epitome of a bad partner. He never made Noah feel loved or even remotely cherished. Like, Noah is literally battling insecurities, and Grant couldn’t even bother to make him feel beautiful. Instead, he made him feel ugly because he was afraid Noah would realize that he deserves WAY better. Plus, he just decided Derek should join their relationship without asking Noah. Um, consent much?? Not to mention his complete inability to stand up to his family, who treated Noah and Derek like dirt.

And THEN Grant had the audacity to wonder why his family wasn’t close to his partners?!!! Sir, you are a DUMBASSS. He acted like he knew Noah’s limits but was so far off the mark it was painful. Case in point:

"Grant knotted him almost every night, and Noah tried to be enthusiastic, even when he was sore and not really in the mood."

😬 Yeah... no. Grant should NOT be allowed near an omega. Ever.

But let me tell you what saved this for me: Noah and Derek. 🥹 I absolutely loved their dynamic, even if Derek’s weird obsession with fattening Noah up had me side-eyeing him HARD. That trope where the MMC with a sad past expects to be treated badly in a relationship but ends up being proven wrong? LOVE IT. And even though Grant was doing the absolute BARE MINIMUM until Derek joined, that part still hit me in the feels.

Overall, it’s a mess, but it’s the kind of messy drama I couldn’t look away from. If you can handle problematic characters and love some angsty healing moments, it’s worth a shot. Just, uh, don’t take relationship advice from Grant. Ever. 🙃

Review contains spoilers.

Generally well done, but I had several issues. Being a sub does not men you are a slave. Grant failed at being dom, failing several times to take into account his subs hapiness. a Sub submits to a Dom giving control knowing the dom will do his best to make him happy.

Grant only started saying he loves Noah again after Derek's appearance. He didn't say he loved him for months. He has them starting to date Derek and then proposes without ever discussing it with Noah. Leaving Noah with serious doubt.

Grant listened to Derek and railroaded over Noah when it suited him. Derek actually asked Noah about how he was feeling and about what he wanted. This only emphasized how Grant was lacking. He failed to release that Noah wasn't as happy as before. He only realized this when Noah was happy again.

Even in sex it was all about Grant's satisfaction. It was mentioned twice that Noah was sore after all the sex and yet Grant and then Brent continued considering it yet still having sex dismissing Noah's possible pain. Then it was the knot in Noah throat that made him uncomfortable, making breathing hard. Derek was aware of this and avoided it, yet Grant once again didn't care.

Grant basically banned Noah from talking to other Alpha's. Collaring him without premission. Also knowing Noah wanted to work and not helping him even though it was easily within his powers.

My final issue was the prenup, I'm aware Grant was unaware of it yet In the end Grant still had a prenup albeit a better one whereas Derek didn't have one.

I would love for Grant to experience Noah's side.

After reading Evan's Alpha's before I read this and I have to admit to wanting to read more from this author, with some different characters but overall same themes. This story ended up being a complete turn off. Grant seems like a hot headed punk that shouldn't ever be allowed an Omega compared to Peter. I was hoping for some more, instead I got an abusive ass and an alpha who acted like a beta, being cowed at the slightest sign of confrontation with the head alpha. What is even more insulting is that, we have the Omega blaming himself for not bringing it up more insistently. Which is so disgusting, and seems a validation of the abuse that he has taken.

Now I do not need to read feel good books in fact most of the time some dubious con books are hot as hell. This book was like a sneaky dubious consent book, that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. His arrogance, violence, lack of control are explained away by petty excuses of not being able to control himself and ignorance? If I was in a society where Omegas are basically second class citizens you can bet it would be hard for me to question the thought process of an alpha, in fact I bet it's ingrained into them to not question them overly. I just felt this was a story of domestic violence disguised as a romance/ D/s story. There is nothing about Noah's submission in the book that is a turn on because even if he wanted to he couldn't leave. While I have found this sexy in some books, it isn't here. I am not sure why? Maybe it's because of the lack of choice because of financial situation that makes it utterly unpalatable.

Noah’s alphas should burn in hell. I want to find the biggest stick in the world, put nails in it, and beat Grant with it. Fuckin’ bitch needed a third party to tell him he’s a fucking jerk. And in the end it was all, “Sorry I really didn’t pay attention,” and Noah just forgave him.

And the way he was constantly flying off the goddamn handle, believing other people’s words instead of getting both sides first.

Lastly ... he STILL gave Noah a prenup. Fine, it’s a “better” “nicer” prenup. But why not just say nope, no prenup needed, if he ever wants to leave my dumb abusive ass, he can have half. “The best alphas”?? The best alphas to drown in a fucking sewer.

Jesus, I was so mad in the end.

I get that Heart likes putting dubious and sometimes dark shit in the novels they write, but this time, I am not onboard.

This is the first time I’ve been out and out pissed with her characters. I seriously hate Grant and his personality. I wish Noah HAD divorced him after he got the updated prenup.

Just because Noah is “submissive” sexually doesn’t mean he gets less of a say. In this novel, it’s really, REALLY obvious that Noah isn’t on equal footing with his alphas and they’re not interested in giving him that equal footing. Or even treating him like they care!

I am so mad.

... AND ONE MORE THING (I just remembered), Grant was like oh yeah that’s Noah’s first blowie, because I think giving head is gross.

....But I’m going to force my omega to do it for me anyway.

I DESPISE GRANT COMPLETELY AND THOROUGHLY

This was an okay story with a few elements that made me a bit ragey.

Grant is an older alpha mated to Noah. Derek is a young alpha that ends up dating, then marrying, Grant and Noah. Noah is a beautifully submissive omega who doesn’t understand the concept of communication. Not that I blame him mind you. Grant is also very bad at communication and a result, there were a few times in the story where I felt his behavior was borderline/tripped into abusive territory. One of those situations involves Grant using Noah’s submission against him and engaging in what could be seen as dubcon/noncon depending on your definition.

Derek was seriously the only saving grace for me and it kept me reading because I wanted to see if Grant finally got the wake-up call he deserved.

Overall I felt this was a 2.75 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ story.

3.5ish. Started off great. An uber alpha/omega pairing, later joined by a 'more than a beta but not quite as uber' alpha. I liked the pacing, and the easy storytelling, but Grant must be one of the worst alphas ever written. I had high hopes for Derek being a mediator...and he was...but because he was a young alpha he messed up at times too. I will say that, in theory, when you have a personality that is that alpha and you have an omega (sub) who doesn't feel comfortable voicing their opinion, situations like the ones in the story will occur, but books where miscommunication is central to the plot tend to frustrate me so that brought it down from five stars to 3.5. I would absolutely read more about this threesome, though. I liked where they were at the end.

Love the author, hated his book

I usually enjoy this author but this book was terrible. The alpha/omega relationship was really just abusive nonsense instead of the power dynamics that I've come to expect from this author. And I hate Grant. HATE.

Abuse much!!!

Man I’m super disappointed in this book. I really like DJ Heart and the boundaries that are pushed or taboo subjects. But this was just weird.
The punishment and spankings were over the top and unjustified, the sex was wasted b/c there was so much conflict( with the characters and my head), Noah never spoke his mind and then lied when he was asked “ what’s the matter or is there anything we should know”, but then why wouldn’t he lie?? He was verbally abused even when grant knew he didn’t want to be called those names.
Worst is Noah compared the prior abuse to his current realationship w/grant but said he learned to love it b/c grant loved him...I never saw that love but whatever
And last, dereck was useless and pointless. Didn’t get it, he didn’t agree w/ grants treatment and abuse thought he was over board yet wouldn’t speak up b/c he also feared grants reaction and was too horny??
Damn I hate dropping authors but this was just too much even for my kinky self.
Good luck

Too short, not enough communication between Noah and Grant. Rushed, no true relationship development between Noah and Derek or Derek and Grant.

A novella where Grant and Noah bring a third into the Marriage. Derek a younger Alpha is calmer and helps Noah and Grant to discover some if the cracks in their relationship which could have broke them apart for good.

Yuck

I enjoy a lot of this author's work, but not this one. I don't care what your kink is, the older alpha is bigoted and abusive and he never sees the light. If you're not looking for any semblance of romance or HEA, this might be for you.

Please be aware that this book may NOT be for everyone. There is rough, kinky sex that some people may not be comfortable with.

Noah’s Alphas take place in a darker Omegaverse where Omegas do not have the same rights as Alphas and Betas and find themselves oppressed. Noah, a mated, married omega, lives with his Alpha Grant. Grant is an uber Alpha – super dominant, super strong, and very sexy. He also is oblivious to Noah’s struggles which causes conflict later in the story. Derek, another Alpha, becomes their third. Derek is just as sexy as Grant, but he’s not an Uber Alpha and he’s the softer touch Noah and Grant’s relationship needed.

Overall Rating: 5 Stars. This book is one of my favorites because it has all the elements I look for when it comes to my darker, guilty pleasure stories – there’s power exchange relationships, kinky sexy, and lots of hot sex scenes. I love this book for the many elements that some people would find problematic so I highly suggest anyone who wants to read this story to take care and make sure it’s the story for you.

There were things about this story that I really liked and other things that I didn't. After reading some of the reviews I will say that the Alpha/Omega relationship is like others in this series (Such as Omega and Logan's Alpha) it is different than others in this genre. If you do not like a dominant Alpha and submissive Omega culture roles than you will not like this story. In these books the Omega's are still fighting for rights and the story is made more in it's own time and place. Obviously if things like what are happening in this book were happening by today's standards lawyers would be all over it, but that is what is fun about reading fiction!! This story does have it's ups and downs with some steamy scenes thrown in between. I do not want to give anything away about the story because it is a good story and keeps you wondering if the relationship will work out or not until the end.

2.5 stars. Even though there is a happy ending, I constantly feel irritated by the two alphas. Glad that this is a short story, or I couldn't have finished it.
