It's wonderful. Great illustrations.

The only aspect I find morally ambiguous is that the protagonist finds happiness only after his disability is 'solved' with technology.
I get that he's happier when he can fly. I really do.
Nonetheless, I'd preferred it if his family and friends fixed his world, and didn't (just) 'fix' him.

It says something about how incomplete (not fully human?) Jonatan is perceived to be (by himself/the other characters/author/reader/...?). That seems harsh.

Maybe the story could've been longer. The author could've shown a bit of Jonatans life after they 'enhanced' his body. He's still disabled, after all. Plenty of room for more stories.

Jag minns att jag läste denna som liten, kanske var jag sju år, och då såg jag det bara som en rolig och spännande historia. Nu ser jag ett solklart tema: att visa hur vårt samhälle är byggt och anpassat helt efter människor som inte är funktionsvarierade. Bra och välskriven bok med härliga bilder!

Should be required reading for every child (and adult). Inclusion, policy making, overcoming obstacles, disabilities, friendship.. a very touching and beautiful book, on my all time favorites shelf.

تعرض هذه القصة مسألة اندماج ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في المجتمع بطريقة مبتكرة وذكية للغاية، فالعالم الذي يعيش فيه زياد -بطل القصة- عالم كل الناس فيه عندهم أجنحة، كان هو القاصر (إنسان بلا أجنحة) شكله بالنسبة للطفل القارئ طبيعي جدا، ولكن عندما نراه في الصور بين أناس لهم أجنحة يدرك الطفل أنه مختلف، هذا الاختلاف هو ذاته الذي يشعر به الأصم، الأعمى ، الأعرج، إلخ من أطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في الحياة الحقيقية.

أعجبني أنه على الرغم من أنه أوجد لنفسه حلا بالتعاون مع آسرته وأصدقائه، إلا أنه لم ينس أن هناك غيره من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة الذين يحتاجون إلى من يدشن لهم الطرقات والجسور والدرجات --لأنهم بلا أجنحة!

أنصح باقتناء القصة لأنها بالتأكيد ستثري مكتبتكم.
