TOO QUIET IN BROOKLYN, the first in the Fina Fitzgibbons Brooklyn mystery series published December 2013. The second book in the series, MISSING BRANDY, published September 2014, and WHISKEY'S GONE completes a trilogy. The working title of the fourth is DEAD IN BROOKLYN.
"Never, ever give up", the leaves seemed to whisper" (383) I would like to thank Susan Russo Anderson for providing me with an advance copy of this book. I loved this book! It was the prefect mix of relationship and mystery. As the book is written so that every chapter was written for a different characters perspective, it made the story seem more real; as we were able to see how the detective, the kidnapper, and the girl who was kidnapped felt at any given time. I really enjoyed this writing style. I felt that the plot was realistic and relatable, as it felt like it could have happened in real life. This book is a quick read as I read it in a day, and it's a page turner! I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it for anyone 14+
Fast paced keep you guessing plot with lots of interesting characters. It was a really good story and characters through out t h at were relatable and real. Lots of action and great detective work. Plot was really well written to keep my attention and keep me reading till all hours of the day and niight
After reading "Too Quite in Brooklyn" had too read this one, you'll too. Fina so young but her six sense is perfect. Can't believe anybody going through those 4 days. I was about to kick Robert, but couldn't do that because of Lorraine.
I liked the book. It kept me interested, but I could still put it down and come back later. You did not need to read the 1st in the series to follow what was going on, although, it did refer back to the first book from time to time. It may make you want to read the first book in the series.
I read the 1st book too quiet in Brooklyn, this picks up where the first book ended with a new case, but with characters from the first book, I would read more of this authors books if there are any.
I was looking forward to this book, but ultimately was really disappointed. There wasn't a single attractive character, including the PI who flits in and out. I am a conversation reader, and this book had very little, and had lots of prose. The kidnap victim is a brat, her mom is a witch, and the villain is a broken man. That said, I pushed it to 20%, but no improvement in sight. This book reminded me of British novels, not books by an American author. Perhaps her other books are better, and I will attempt another one if it comes along.
This second book in this series was withstood as the first. The book jumps back and fourth to much . It was hard to keep up. I hope the next book in this series is better.
This book was well written, the characters seemed real and the author brought them to life. There were several unexpected twists and surprises. Overall, I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes mysteries.
Winding through past and present happening s A story emerges that is worth your time. Surprises await and add more suspense to make you wonder. Worth your time!
This is my second book by Ms. Anderson an I really am hooked. She gets the cast all lined up with The plot thickens an before you know it you can't put the book down for the most part it is a clean mystery.
Although it took m e some time to get into this book, I soon began to understand how this author writes and then I couldn’t put it down. Recommend this book
Really enjoy the authors writing, the suspense. I will read more from this author. This is the first book for me with this author but won't be the last!
I loved this book . It's the first one I have read by Susan Anderson. The characters were believable and am looking forward to reading more by this author.
Really liked it! Enjoyed being back with Fina, Denny, Cookie, and the whole gang. There was enough suspense to keep it interesting, enough humor to keep it lighthearted, and enough of friendships, relationships, romance to keep the characters interesting. I liked seeing Denny's mom utilized more in this book, and I loved the fact that she could use her skills in work outside of caring for Denny's dad. This is a good read for both women and men of all ages, especially if you like a mystery with a strong female lead. This one is now available in an AUDIOBOOK format through Audible! A good story with a believable plot. Initially difficult to follow the narrative as it jumped from place to place and time, but once I understood how the author was developing the storyline it flowed well. I do think one of the villains could have been developed more as he had the potential to be mor sinister than he was. The lead Gillian was also less striking and almost bland, however his rational for kidnapping Brandy was understandable in a twisted way.

The story shows the pain, emotional turmoil that losing a loved one can bring ,how we deal with it varies by each one of us.The easy way or hard way ,some survive, some stumble along, others do as Hendry did.
For no reason I can put into a cohesive explanation, I was thru over 40 percent and about to quit reading when the story grabbed me. I could barely put it down. I really liked the characters and their interactions. I am anxious to see if they are in the next book!
Less Fina and less character-driven than the prior book I read. Not clear to me that the deaths revealed in the story were, indeed, the work of a single psycho.
