With war escalating, Neeko knows he will be sent to battle soon. Meanwhile, his mother’s cunning murderer will stop at nothing to kill him. But these dangers don’t compare to what’s coming, what no one in the North can defend against except for him.
Forced down crossroads that are sure to change the course of his life no matter which path he chooses, Neeko must use everything he’s learned to stay alive and protect the North. Unfortunately, that still might not be enough. He thought he’d already seen the most horrible savagery with the murder of his mother, but the worst is yet to come.
A definite improvement from Fire Games, Wrath Games adds more story on the characters we already know and builds up suspense as Neeko and Shara continue on their journey. I think the development of both characters was greatly improved in this story and it definitely didn't succumb to the standard decline of a second story in a trilogy. BT Narro did a great job at making me hate a character one minute, and then later on feeling empathetic towards that character and wondering if I should like them or not. After finishing reading I immediately started the final book in this series as I needed to know what happened next.
I really enjoyed this book! I messed up and read it first (don't ask). I am now reading the first one and understand better some of the moments in this one. However, all that being said, I really enjoyed this book and I am enjoying the first one also.
Wrath Games (Book 2 of The Pyforial Mage Trilogy) by B.T. Narro is a great fantasy story full of intrigue and adventure. This fast paced novel will leave you breathless.
B.T. Narro is an excellent storyteller and in this book he has woven a tale which kept me glued to its pages. With all the plot twist and innuendos you have to stay up with the story, but it is not hard to follow. Even if you have not read the first book in the trilogy, Fire Games, this novel can stand alone as a great read.
I love the way the author developed his characters in the story. You can see each of them grow and mature into the strong heroes of the story. Each character is easy to follow and believe in, they are so realistic.
I really liked Wrath Games by B.T. Narro and I highly recommend this book to all readers.
[Please note: I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.]
Like most of B.T.Narro's books that I have read this is an older teenage group doing incredible things with "magic" he uses Bastial and SE and now Py in this series.
sex is acknowledged but not central to the stories. 14 is mentioned repeatedly as the age of "consent" i.e. they are adults. so it is not considered in the stories as a big deal except perhaps embarrassing to others. (the attitude of get a room) ...
The first book is really good and a promising start. Compared this one is a let down with so many promises never to be held, literally. However the ending won me over to waiting for part 3, especially now that we hopefully leave the castle.
