ARC review: I give this 3.5 stars but that’s not an option. It was a cute story idea but could have been executed better. Rocker romance. Accidental pregnancy. You have the golden retriever rocker “bad boy” who was more retriever than bad boy. Normally pregnancy trope isn’t one that I go for but I did enjoy this one. I felt like I could connect to Olivia during the emergency c-section since I went through something similar.
The biggest thing for me was that I felt like the characters and story were just scratching at the surface. They could have had more depth and more detail especially along the lines of labor and c section and the after math of having the baby. It seemed to just go from one thing to the next without enough detail to connect me to the characters emotions. The emergency c section connected me but I believe that was just because of my own experience. Like I said it still could have used more detail.
There are 🌶️ scenes but the detail could be more. The scenes are more lukewarm but for a “feel good” type of romance they weren’t bad.
Overall good story just lacked depth and seemed rushed especially after having the baby. I did enjoy the touch on c-section.
Decent amount of grammar errors and whatnot.

Arc Review.
I want to begin by saying that I respect this authors experiences throughout this whole book, I can't imagine going through these difficult situations. It's very brave and strong of you to put the your own feelings and experiences into this book.
Thoughts about the book:
I almost dnf it but I kept reading because I didn't want to judge the book based on what I didn't like. I could see many individuals loving this book but for me, I had a hard time loving it. I thought it wasn't organized well enough. For example the nick name he gives her at the beginning isn't explained until randomly in the middle of the book.
Another difficult moment for me was finding the "bad guy" within the mmc. When I read the book he honestly seemed fine. It's common for individuals to have one night stands without needing to develop any sort of feelings. As for the fmc, I didn't see a shy or reserved individual. She was very confident imo this whole time.
Lastly, I had a hard time connecting or feeling with the characters during difficult moments.
I think with a little more organizing and editing this book would be amazing.
I'm just speaking for myself but I do see how many individuals would fall in love with the book. It may not be my cup of tea but it could be yours!

Such a sweet wholesome romance
I really enjoyed this one, so much so I suffered reading it on my phone 😂
I had also read her first Dryer Hill standalone, It Could Be You, but this was definitely my favorite of the two.
I know not everyone likes the accidental pregnancy trope (which I don’t understand), but this was done very nicely. Honestly I just hate when the man never finds out, I get “our bodies” and all but it takes two to tango.
Anywho, great character development, and storytelling. The plot twist happened at a great point in the book. And the ending was just perfect. Sometimes we don’t want some dramatic ending that leaves us questioning everything.
I highly recommend these.

This book was literally so cute and easy to read! Although there are some very serious topics include domestic abuse, verbal/emotional abuse *not by the mmc, so definitely read the TW before hand. Beck and Olivia are so adorable together! I loved how beck did not even question no being involved with Olivia and the baby. Their slow burn relationship of learning to be “friend” first and then of course the adorable confusion of both of them trying to understand what they are next. Watching them build their little family. Beck experienced the most growth in finally letting go of the things that did serve him anymore and being completely sure that his purpose and passions were Olivia and baby. I was literally kicking my feet giggling most of the book! I loved it!

I loved this story, second chance love always makes my heart happy. There are definitely some hard topics and situations written in this book, Holt is a walking red flag 🚩 so glad she finally see the light,but the love that Olivia finds in Beck is the sweetest kind of love. I really enjoyed reading their journey into love and parenthood. I love seeing the stars align and bringing people together who clearly were always meant to be.

Yall! This was so cute! He sees her from the stage when he’s play with his band and instantly remembers her. What starts off as a one night thing turns into so much more. They both secretly had crushes on each other back in high school and are finally getting to see what’s there.

I firstly want to say thank you to Katarina for sharing her story with us as this is based on personal events in her past. I secondly want to say thank you again to her for letting me be honored with an eArc for this story.
I am not typically one drawn to anything pregnancy related on purpose, but if it’s in an epilogue or already a single mom trope that’s different but being pregnant during most of the book that is new for me. I was genuinely curious about an accidental pregnancy mixed with a rockstar trope, well spoiler alert, I loved it. Now I will also preface, I have never been pregnant nor do I know certain aspects of pregnancy to truly understand what she went through postpartum but I think how Katarina explained things I very much felt as if I was there experiencing things myself.
Now people may see the Holt as just a general dude with not a lot of red flags or “why would this be a big deal” but knowing it comes from an abusive past and this was probably mild compared to what she actually went through I have one thing to suggest. It’s the little things, always look at the little things because they may seem like “Oh no he just truly cares for her” or “We all have our flaws” but no this man from the beginning set off warning bells but you can see how thing are easily brushed off by Olivia, the FMC, due to her not knowing or being aware. I think Katarina did a fantastic job in portraying the villain but in a way that makes sense.
Now Beckett is an amazing man, he is super supportive, caring, and has always been in love with Olivia since H.S, which I love the mutual pining trope. Olivia and Back had a moment and were protected and this shows, even if you use protection things just happen. Accidents happen, not stating the pregnancy was a mistake or anything just life has plans and sometimes even if we are careful it still shows what we need. The way this man cared for her during the entire pregnancy, even from the moment he found out she was pregnant, he wanted her to have full control over her body which ever that entailed.
This story shows the good and bad of protective relationship and even if your friends and family can see the signs, we can’t. Always trust your gut, always trust those around you, and always trust yourself. Action over words.
Now onto the happier things lol, I am absolutely in love with Beck and Olivia! Olivia is a shy reserved person but when she’s around the people she cares about she’s very confident and out there! I loved the burrito bowl obsession cause truly now I want one with extra guacamole 🥑 lol, beck had his own issues but adored his friends and family, now knowing Olivia was gonna be in it forever he instantly knew things needed to change and he did they because “If he wanted to, he will” he wanted to find a home closer to Olivia’s job so she didn’t have to worry about their daughter and commute, besides basic human decency he went above and beyond to be there for her family and friends including them always, and the constant respect he gave her was a million times amazing!
I can truly keep ranting, I loved this book, the only reason I felt it was a 4.5 which is still high, was due to the factor of relatability. I love her work and always will! Thank you again!

Quick and easy read, but still so very cute.
When a one night stand with an old crush leads to an unexpected pregnancy, Olivia’s entire world is thrown for a loop. Ever the over planner, this is something she couldn’t have prepared for. Beck, meanwhile, has been searching for a way forward in his life, and this might just be his chance to finally have a normal(ish) family.
Dryer Hill is earning itself a reputation for being cute with a side of mandatory emotional growth, and I’m here for it. This is now the second book in the series that’s managed to land that description (out of 2 current installments).
The book starts out a little on the info-dumpy side, so I was a little hesitant getting started. It definitely felt like there could have been a more natural way of exposing both Beck’s and Olivia’s backstories. Once I got past that, though, the story flowed a lot more smoothly. There were still moments where we were simply *told* the character’s emotions or thoughts in ways that broke the continuum of the storyline, but they became less frequent and less jarring as the book progressed, so it didn’t kill the whole vibe for me.
The rest of the story is really cute and very sweet, but it still deals with some heavy themes. The way those ideas and situations are handled, though, is solid— they never feel overwhelming or super dark, and that seems to me to be a good way to normalize those themes and bring them into a scope that’s easier to understand and discuss for a broader range of people. It’s something that we saw in the first Dryer Hill story (“It Could Have Been You”), and it’s one of my favorite things about both books. These are concepts that deserve to be front and center, but written in a way that doesn’t make them something taboo to talk about.
This book managed to be both sweet and meaningful, and I’m so pleased it made it into my rotation. It’s not going to be the right fit for everyone, but those who do get a chance to read it will (likely) find it to be an easy read with a good balance between weighty topics and lighthearted romcom-esque features. It’s still firmly a contemporary romance, but it made me chuckle more than once.

Katarina Martinez has delivered an emotionally raw, deeply human story in Right Kind of Wrong. This book hit on several heavy themes—accidental pregnancy, abuse, addiction—and managed to explore each one with an incredible amount of care, never once feeling exploitative or overly dramatized for shock value. It’s clear that Martinez approached these subjects with empathy and intent, and as a reader, I felt every single beat of Olivia’s journey.
What stood out to me most was just how real Olivia’s story felt. Her struggles weren’t wrapped up neatly or solved in a chapter. She carried the weight of her trauma, fear, and responsibility throughout the entire book, and it made her resilience all the more powerful. Watching her navigate these moments—stumbling, surviving, and slowly healing—was both heartbreaking and inspiring. It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t supposed to be. That realism was everything.
And Beck? Beck might just be my new favorite book boyfriend. He’s the perfect example of a “bad boy” with a soft heart who doesn’t lose his edge. The way he stood by Olivia—not to fix her, not to rescue her, but to support her—was beautifully done. He showed up again and again, because he chose to, and because she wanted him to. There was no savior complex here. Just love, patience, and mutual respect. Beck stepping into the role of a father while still being unapologetically him? Yes. Please. Always.

I will start by saying that accidental pregnancy is usually not my favorite trope. That said, I loved this book. There was a good balance of focusing on the FMC and the MMC’s relationship, but recognizing that there’s going to be a whole other human affected by them and their choices.
Beck is amazing. From the second he finds out about the pregnancy, he is so selfless and sweet. Even when he knew he wanted more of a relationship with Olivia, he didn’t stand between her and Holt until that exploded.
I so appreciated how everything Olivia went through was handled with care and realistically. The cycle of domestic violence depicted exactly how abusers manipulate their partners. I also appreciated how Beck was there for Olivia, but it wasn’t lined he just swooped in and fixed everything and everything was perfect. Olivia had to work through the aftermath. Same with the traumatic birth and depression. As someone who suffered from PPD, it hurt reading those chapters. But that reality needs to be depicted without judgment like it was here. Olivia was a great mom who loved her baby AND she struggled after she was born.

ARC REVIEW
Although accidental pregnancy isn't my thing, it worked so well with Olivia and Beck. They both had secret crushes in high school and they end up going through such an emotional adventure in this book.
Olivia is a positive, sunshine FMC who is a high school art teacher. The one night she decides to have fun ends up in an accidental pregnancy with her secret high school crush/bad boy/drummer. Through the book, Olivia and Beck go through a rollercoaster of emotions trying to figure out where they stand and how they are going to co-parent their baby. Ultimately, Beck and Olivia decide to give a real chance to a relationship, but no without some bumps in the road aka Holt. That guy...can go fly a kite. Anyway, by the end Olivia experienced the baby blues. Beck was so loving and patient with her it literally hurt my heart. The ending was very cute and the epilogue was even more cute.
I am a fan of Katarina's writing style and that she also loves Sleep Token as much as I do!
Although accidental pregnancy isn't my thing, it worked so well with Olivia and Beck. They both had secret crushes in high school and they end up going through such an emotional adventure in this book.

A beautiful contemporary romance! I love Beck and Olivia. They are an amazing couple with a beautiful dynamic. I love how Beck stepped up to be a dad without hesitation. He really was such a loving partner. And Olivia was loving as well. They just fit together so well, and I loved reading their story.
The domestic abuse story was sad, and I liked how it was built up and hinted towards. Some very affective storytelling in that respect. However, my major complaint for this story is that the conflict of this story/the subplot with Holt was resolved too quickly. Now, let me clarify: I’m not saying I would’ve wanted to read more abuse, absolutely not. What I am saying is that I wish more had happened with Holt, because that just felt unresolved to me. So Beck saw him with a girl in the middle of a drug deal, and then he later blackmailed him with that info after beating him up. Did they continue to cross paths? Did anyone go out and say something to Holt? I was just left wondering if Holt got his “happy ending” or if Karma came for him.
Overall, I really liked this story, and I’m happy I got to read this love story.

I adored this book. First I will start out that there are a few triggering topics and pregnancy is very active in this book. Olivia and beck are so cute they both have secret not to secret crushes on each other from school and have a one night stand that ends in pregnancy she does briefly have a somewhat relationship with someone else where he is abusive and very verbally abusive towards her fortunately the first time he does something physical she gets out. I connected so much with this book and Olivia because during my first pregnancy I experienced abuse and also an emergency c section along with some PPD. I felt like each subject was handled with care and gave some great insight to them. I fell completely in love with the characters and the baby. It is spicy and has several scenes and you can feel the spice radiating off the pages it doesn’t take away from plot of the story I also loved getting tid bits of everyone else’s personality’s so I’m excited to see if they’ll each get their own books to and get to see sawyer grow through them. Overall great read especially if you love surprise pregnancy

First and foremost I want to say thank you. I received this book as an ARC and I was so excited to dive in. This book really hooked me from the get go. I know it was based on truths from the author’s own experiences, and I thought it was really well done. Putting such heavy topics you’ve gone through yourself into a book has to be quite the feat, and I really connected emotionally with the story of Olivia.
I will say that accidental pregnancy isn’t always my favorite- specifically when it’s just sprung on you. That being said, this was an example of it being very well done. I appreciate this author being very up front about this and some of the other heavier topics. I knew exactly what I was getting into and I loved every second of this book.
If you enjoy fast-paced, emotional, second-chance romance this is perfect for you. The FMC’s story is one that I think a lot of people can connect with on some level, and I really appreciated all the real-world anecdotes. Well done, and thank you again!

Beck has officially been added to my book boyfriends list! His protectiveness of her was perfect, I love having his POV to see he how much he cares about her, and let’s be real, I love me some emo rocker boys.
This was such a cute read and so far my favorite of the Dryer Hill series. It was a nice and quick read that I zoomed through while I couldn’t sleep (I think I finished it in like 4-5 hours). If you don’t like pregnancy tropes then I do suggest to skip this read as the FMC is pregnant literally the entire book. I also highly recommend to check the trigger warnings as there is domestic abuse (not by the MMC) and an emergency c section.
Unlike most interconnected standalone series this one was definitely a little different as the main characters were not actually direct friends of the characters in It Could Be You and they did not physically appear in the book, just the FMC was mentioned by a friend. It could definitely be read as a standalone or out of order and you would not really miss out on anything. Excited to see what else happens in Dryer Hill!

The Right Kind of Wrong follow high school art teacher and identical twin, Olivia “Liv”Connoly and carpenter by day, rocker by night, Beckett “Beck” Haven. The story alternates between the POV’s of both MC’s while they navigate life in their late twenties and an unplanned pregnancy. I thought this was a cute story with bits of trauma mixed in. Most of the characters were enjoyable especially Liv’s girl gang of besties. I found Beck’s character to be more cinnamon roll and less bad boy which is I think actually fit the story better as it was written. Olivia finds herself in some unpredictable situations and dealing with some hard occurrences which I think many woman with be able to relate with and find commonality in. I personally experienced an emergency c-section as well so that part of the story brought back the feelings of what that was like and I thought that the author wrote this scene well and tastefully. Overall, I enjoyed reading this story, and I look forward to how the author’s writing evolves with the writing of more books.

This was such an easy read. I read it in less than a day easily. Once you start, it is hard to stop.
This is the second standalone in the Dryer Hill novels.
This follows Olivia, who is a high-school art teacher and Beck who is in a rock band. The two knew each other in high school and met again years later. One thing leads to another, and Olivia ends up pregnant....Yes, this is an accidental pregnancy story. Before you say absolutely not, it also has the following tropes: grumpy x sunshine, opposites attract, who did this to you, and he doesn't do relationships. I would just say give it a chance. The trope was very well done. The character development was good, but I liked the characters before and after. The FMC and MMC were both great, and I didn't dislike either one of them. Beck is literally everything. He is for sure creeping up on my book boyfriends list.

I absolutely devoured this book in under 4 hours!! This story felt really “real” and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Overall it was written very well. I enjoyed the book. Beck and Olivia’s story is one like I haven’t read before. I enjoyed their chemistry and liked the open door spice scenes. (These scenes weren’t not too long and drawn out, but still open door).
This was my first book by this offer and am excited to read the next book on this series. I felt like this book shows what really happens in relationships, but still has that romance vibe, so it was kind of nice to read.
I would definitely recommend this as a read!

Spoiler-Free review to the best of my ability. I am gonna mention a few concepts and tropes but nothing the author herself hasn't discussed openly online ❤️.
I give the book 3.8 stars. I would have loved to see some of the storylines have a little more depth, but that to me is just a sign that I was really into the story. Otherwise, I would have been glad to have it be over not wanting more.
My top favorite tropes are: bad boy falls hard, one night stand turned love, and accidental pregnancy... throw in my favorite rockstar archetype? The author might as well have written the story for me lol!
There were a few rough subjects like DV and birth trauma but she handled them responsibly.
I thought she did wonderful at igetting me as a reader to fall in love with Beckett and root for him to get his happily ever after as much as the FMC!

This book is undeniably cute, with charming characters and a cozy vibe that makes it an easy read. However, it does fall short in a few key areas. It's a really sweet story. I feel for Olivia and her traumatic labor. it sucks to be a planner and have nothing go as planned and feel so out of control. it's one of the worst feelings in the world. but I am glad she had such a supportive village in her family and friends. and EVERY girl wants a Beck!!! I love that he never felt he could have his dreams come true, but it did anyway. it's beautiful, and I relate to him so much for that. I was also not the relationship type at all and avoided them like the plaque, and now I have been with my husband 11 years. he is my version of Olivia lol sweet, innocent kind, while I am like Beck, tatted, moody, and a loner.
I think the only thing that bothered me was the typos and swapped words. but another draft with the editor reviewing it and should be good❤️

How cute was this book!!!! You have a FMC who is all sunshine and a grumpy I don't do relationships. One fateful night for her sisters birthday she decides to give in and let loose. As if it was fate her high school crush is there and its like time stops. As you well know what goes down she leaves but cant stop thinking about him. One day at the gym she meets Colt and gets swept up but despite the little red flags that keep flying she ignores them. Untill she cant anymore and runs straight into becks arms. This funny, whitty, charming book will have you feeling all types of ways. So if you want to find out what happens next please go read it. Oh you cant forget the steamy spice, and please check your trigger warnings as it deals with some sensitive content.

I did enjoy this story and the concept, the way Katarina states in the beginning how scenes in this book are from her own personal experiences make the story relatable even though we know it’s fiction. She also touches on the trigger warnings which is important with the scenes in the book! I felt like everything in the beginning happened super quickly, there was no build up and it kind of felt rushed.
However after reading the rest of the book, I guess a drunken one night stand has no build up and isn’t at all romantic, it’s quick and over before it even started.
I’m not usually an accidental pregnancy trope fan but did enjoy this one and it was great to see the pregnancy aspect throughout the whole novel.
I also wished we got a deeper insight into the MMC and his past, as I felt it was mostly brushed aside.

This is the first book I've read by Katarina and I can say I will be reading every book she rights. The characters were well written and the story was constructed very well.
I didn't know that an accidental pregnancy would be a great trope to read but after this book I can say yes it is. It was fun and flirty amongst serious issues as well. I related to some of the red flags of Holt.
I loved the touch her and d*e vibes we got from Beck and when he came and saved Olivia it made me cry. I loved that he made her understand that none of it was her fault.
Keep reading and I love all the flirty steamy stuff that happens and I LOVED how Beck got nervous asking Olivia to be his girlfriend.

One of the best things I wanna say about this book is that it's real. Yes, the author puts the trigger warnings in the very front of the book for our own mental health and even let us know that if we don't continue the book, it's okay because our mental health comes first but what I love is that it's real and it deals with real everyday life situations and actually shows the struggles while also being an amazing romance novel. Not often do you find a really good romance book that you can relate to that shows. The real life struggles but also has an amazing plot and moves the story along in a way that grabs your attention. I don't give out a lot of 5 stars, but this one is one of my 5 star reads of the year.
