Eli I'm known as ruthless when it come to business and my personal life. Cross me or someone I love and I will end you. It never mattered much. Not until I met her. Anastasia Jones. She's smart, gorgeous, and funny. Oh and she also hates my guts. No matter how hard I try to stay away from her, I can't help but want to be around her. This woman will be my downfall.
Anastasia I've worked my tush off to become the CFO of the Williamson foundation. It's been all peaches and cream until scandal hits leaving me with a new boss. Eli . He's an arrogant, cocky, uncaring man. I can see why they call him ruthless. Only the more I try and stay away, the more he seems to want to pester me. Is a job really worth all the hassle?
Cala Riley, better known as Cala and Riley, are a pair of friends with a deep seated love of books and writing. Both Cala and Riley are happily married and each have children, Cala with the four-legged kind while Riley has a mixture of both two-legged and four. While they live apart, that does not affect their connection. They are the true definition of family. What started as an idea that quickly turned into a full-length book and a bond that will never end.
It's been a minute since I read the first book. And I couldn't wait to get back into this world.
This book continues a few weeks after the events of the first book, and this one deals with the happenings in the Williamson Foundation.
This one is about Elijah, the best friend to Mason from the first book and the CFO.
Adrianna, for the last few years she has worked at Williamson Foundation. She was Gloria's assistant, or so people thought.
She was the person who ran the foundation even though Gloria's name was on all the papers, she knew everything that was happening, her job was her life and she gave it her all.
And then everything changed...
Elijah, he only trusts a handful of people in his life. And after what Gloria did, he became the temporary CEO of the Williamson Foundation.
He is there for only one reason to prove that someone has been stealing money.
And then he meets Adrianna, he wants her out of the foundation.
...I loved this book, it was so freaking good from the beginning. The leads had mind-blowing chemistry from the get go. And before you know it they are falling.
Loved how everything came together.
𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬
Loved catching up with the previous couple. Can't wait for Grace & Brantley's book... Max & Iris ❤️
It's always fun when we ruin someone's opinion of us. Shatter it completely when they really get to know the real you... Just like it was with Elijah and Adrianna.
Elijah steps in as head boss at the Williamson Foundation when the antagonist from book 1 finally gets what's coming to her. He just knows that she didn't act alone and is determined to weed out her accomplice. Where better to start than the person working closest to her, her assistant Adrianna. Tempers flare and tension hits hard. Sexual tension that can't be simmered until it gets its fill. The banter was on point with these two.
Adrianna loves her job. Loves helping people who truly need it. Her job wasn't easy or smooth sailing especially with her old boss around. Little by little she takes on more and more of the duties of said boss when she goes MIA. Everyone knows that it was Adrianna who kept it afloat through the scandal and before that too. Some Mr Ruhtless is too blind to see that... and she has no problem helping him open those eyes... to her!
This was a fun love to hate story. When they fell, they fell hard and it was beautiful. Loved getting a glimpse into the world of these two and their friends. Can't wait for the next King of Boston to fall!
Elijah Samson will make you want to slap him & will definitely irritate you, but once he finally takes the time to actually get to know Adrianna he will have you loving him. Adrianna is seriously a boss babe & when Elijah comes in trying to boss her around she takes it & throughs it back him, which I absolutely love! She stands up for herself & makes sure Elijah doesn’t run the foundation into the ground even though he refuses to let her help. I will say when the lines were crossed & that hate turned into passion between them it was amazing! He hit all those sweet moments & she also knew how to be that calm he needed in those tough moments. The tears just fell when it came to those last few chapters, it pulled hard on my heart strings. Overall excellent read & would absolutely read again, I can’t wait for Mr. Playboy!
Mr Ruthless is the second book in the Kings of Boston series. I flew through this book because the hate to love between Adriana and Eli was elite. I love an enemies to lovers where they are enemies for a good portion of the book, and that’s what you get with Mr Ruthless.
Even when they finally started having hate sex, the tension was still so 🔥
🤍Enemies to lovers 🤍Workplace romance 🤍A bet 🤍Boss/assistant
It was good seeing the other characters. Cala Riley does found family so well and really makes you feel a part of the group. I can’t wait for the next books! Especially Chloe and Brantley’s because that tension is SIZZLING!
Tropes: Enemies to lovers Boss x employee He falls first
Loved 🥰: - right from the start the chemistry was explosive - Elijah’s wicked mouth 🥵🥵😈😈 - got right into the story & it wasn’t dragged out at any point - Elijah falling first was just so fun to see & when he admitted to himself he was wrong
Liked ☺️: - getting to see the wider cast, Elijah has such a good friend circle & I can’t wait to see all their stories in future books
What it wasn’t rated higher (for me personally)🤷🏻♀️: - The only thing I think that stopped this being a five star for me was the slight miscommunication when it came to the end of the back period. Other than that, I absolutely loved everything else.
I love a good enemies to lovers story and Mr. Ruthless was it. Adrianna has worked for The Williamson Foundation for 6 years as executive assistant to the CEO, she's been basically running is all behind the scenes. When Gloria is arrested after the events from book one, Elijah is brought in as the interim CEO. He's convinced Adrianna was helping Gloria steal money and wants her gone. Adrianna and him make a bet on him doing well planning a gala and winning gets the CEO position. As they work together, their underlying attraction comes to the surface and they begin to hook up in secret. He falls hard for her and realizes he was wrong about her. Can he convince her that his feelings are true?
This is the second book in this amazing series, and this is Adrianna and Elijah’s story. Adrianna is smart, independent, and sassy, and she has given her heart and soul into the Williamson Foundation, while Elijah is cold, calculation, and ruthless, and he is brought in to become temporary CEO, and is her new boss. Elijah is on a mission to uncover irregularities within the company, and he is convinced Adrianna is deeply involved and know more than she tells him, which becomes a battle of wills. This is a well written easy to read, slow burn, with family, friendships, emotions, loyalty, angst, drama, enemies / lovers, opposites attract, secrets, tension, determination, communication, workplace romance, humor, witty banter, redemption, challenges, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and captivation page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Ahh omg these two were so freaking fun! I lived for their hate to love slow burn journey so much. Like the way they were at each others throats first from absolute hate towards each other to slowly starting to see different sides to each other and through it all falling hard!
The tension exploding and them not being able to resist each other anymore was epic! How he started to feel protective towards her? Ugh love it! Honestly they were the perfect match in every way!I loved how sassy she was and how she matched his energy so well. Like there isn't a better pair than these two!
This was fun and burning hott but also so dang sweet, passionate and powerful! And it gave me all the possible feels, I loved it!
This was a fun office enemies-to-lovers story. The chemistry and the banter were GREAT.
I really liked how the MMC made her feel part of his friends and family, especially when he invited her to his niece’s recital. It was a sweet way to show that he wanted more than just a fuck buddy. I usually prefer when characters talk things out, but this was a nice, gentle moment. Sure, there was still a need for communication after the whole bet situation, but they handled it carefully, so no problem. The narration made the story even better, which turned it into an enjoyable read with just the right amount of tension.
That fine line between love & hate was walked like a trapeze artist in this book. I loved it! Honestly I wanted to nut punch Elijah so many times but he did redeem himself in a lot of ways. Adrianna was one heck of a boss lady & I really liked the energy she brought to the book. I was surprised by how everything turned out with the company, very devious haha but made for a fun read!
Quickie Review: I absolutely, 100%, wholeheartedly recommend this book. And I am usually not an Enemies to Lovers trope girly. I can’t stand when the guy is vicious in his hatred towards the girl. And Elijah was. So much so, there is no way I would have held my tongue for one second of his tongue lashings. But man o’ man did this guy totally redeem himself and it made for an incredible story. And oh so hot!! I truly cannot wait for the next one. My heart is so embedded into this world and the amazing, hot romance that filled the pages. 5 Stars.
Trigger Warnings include: there are discussions about domestic and physical violence and charity work, discussions of child kidnapping and illegal activities; mentions of sexual assault, loss of a parent
After some shuffling in leadership (something I recommend reading about first hand in book 1) Elijah Samson becomes the new CFO. And you could say that his new assistant is not thrilled whatsoever. But neither is he. What ensues is a delicious battle of strength and wits. And lovely stubbornness. He was beyond rude, and Adrianna gave her snappy attitude right back to him. And I loved every second of it! He underestimates her, and in turn disrespects her. And the moment he realizes his assumptions were all wrong, he has to climb his way out of the hole he dug himself. And then we get one of my favorite moments in a grumpy billionaire romance: he’s loved her long before he realizes it, and then his friends make fun of him for it. I LOVED when lost communication (lost, not miss) is followed by a very mature conversation about working together to be about. Eli and Adianna both did some growing, and it was enjoyable the whole way through!
My Favorite Quotes: • “You had me thinking for a second that I f!cked the fight out of you.” • “A little bit of spit has never bothered me. Did you forget that I’ve had my tongue buried deep in your p!ssy? Any piece of you is fair game.” • “You don’t have to be alone. I’m here now.” • “I’ll put you under my desk and make you suck my c!ck until you forget what you were being so defiant about. Would you like that?” • “You’ve consumed me.” • “Do you think you can kiss me whenever you want to?” “I’m hoping that I can. I really enjoy doing it.” • “This p!ssy belongs to me. This mouth is mine. Your body, mind, heart, and soul. Mine.”
7/10 Dirty Birdy 5/10 Enemies to Lovers 7/10 Forced Proximity 9/10 The CEO Type 9/10 Workplace 7/10 Series
Mr Ruthless is the second book in the Kings Of Boston series by Cala Riley. Enemies to lovers, workplace romance between Elijah Samson and Adrianna Baker. What happens when hatred turns into love and miscommunication threatens their future together.
Adrianna works for the Williamson Foundation but the job has taken over her whole life because she’s running everything for her boss. When Gloria is arrested for kidnapping her grandchild, the Foundation needs a new CEO. Adrianna wants the job as she’s been secretly doing it for the last three years.
Mason is CEO of The Williamson Group and announces the Foundations interim CEO will be Elijah Samson. He is stepping down as the group’s CFO to get The Williamson Foundation back to its former glory.
Worst case scenario for her and she clashes with him the moment they meet. He sneers and is dismissive towards her because he thinks she helped Gloria. Rumours are rife with accusations so he’s determined to find out what’s been happening.
They antagonise each other from the start. He’s shocked when she squares up to him and can’t wait for her to fail. She tells him the place will fall apart if he fires her so they make a deal. He will organise the gala to prove to Adrianna wrong.
He’s conflicted over her as she frustrates and annoys him. She’s feisty, with a sassy mouth and witty comebacks which amuse him. Adrianna is his type but he won’t risk it as never sleeps with an employee.
A series of incidents raises more questions about their feelings and the attraction grows. She hates him but starts falling for him. Then it gets complicated when he can’t resist her any longer. Loved when he lost control and went for it.
The chemistry and sexual tension between them is obvious to his friends. Mason’s brother Max teases she’s the one and warns Eli that maybe Adrianna has been secretly running the foundation the entire time. She’s changed Eli’s life and he’s determined not to lose her but worries if he’s got her?
Will she have to leave the foundation If he stays as CEO and what will happen if he wins their deal. She’s struggles with her insecurities even though he tries really hard to show her what she means to him. Can they sort out their relationship and the Foundation?
Nice catching up with Mason, Olivia and Arianna. Lots of hints about Max and Iris again as well as Brantley and Chloe so can’t wait to see which couple is next.
We get the 2nd book in the Kings of Boston series and this time we get Elijah and Adrianna who forced into working together and it is a great old-fashioned enemies to lovers, work place romance story that is a pretty quick read.
Elijah steps in as interim CEO of the Williamson Foundation after the blow out from the previous book, Mr. Almost. He has come into clean house and make sure that the foundation is running correctly and with the correct people in charge. He goes in with a pre-conceived idea as to who is at fault and what needs to happen but as always there is more than meets the eye.
Adrianna has been with the Williamson Foundation for the past several years and really was the person in charge while the CEO was busy not doing her job. She has a passion for the job and the charity gala's that they put on. She has a great head on her shoulders and she is pouring her life into the foundation as she truly believes in what they are trying to do. She has great sass and isn't afraid to put some people in their place...even her boss.
Adrianna and Eli have great chemistry but even before that we get some great banter and witty comments from them to each other or to their friends. They are loyal to their friends and a little guarded but it was great to see them open up to each other as well as the relationships change and grow around them.
Great story that gives you a little more of Mason and Olivia (Ari too), Max and Iris and of course Brantley and Chloe.....yeah...lets face it....we know who is coming soon. It will be great to get these stories and see what magic they weave for us.
I did receive an ARC for review and so blessed for chance.
This is the second book in The Kings of Boston series, and it was a great hate-to-love story! I loved the on-page tension between Elijah and Adrianna; their banter was perfect, and watching the line between hate and love fade away was amazing.
Adrianna kept the business running while the antagonist from book one was slowly deteriorating with her mental health, but no one knew how absent she was. When Elijah stepped into the interim CEO position, Adrianna was slighted by how cold he was, and she felt he took her job from her. But little did she know there was more happening within the company than just Gloria’s absence.
Adrianna was bold and vibrant and spoke her mind when challenged, and Elijah definitely challenged her. Elijah was the perfect, grumpy jerk while also having such a loyal, caring side to his chosen family. After the dinner with potential investors for the business, their relationship shifted, and I couldn’t have been happier; it was electric. after that, it was history with their relationship blossoming and the bet looming in the future with a little miscommunication they got the ending they deserved and it was nothing short of perfect.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Getting snippets of the next main characters has me so excited.
Elijah Samson you hot piece of man, who looks amazing in a suit. I can see why Adrianna fell for him.
I loved this book, after meeting Elijah as a side character in Mr Almost, I really enjoyed the friendship dynamic between Mason, Max, Brantley and Elijah. You meet them all in this book too.
Elijah steps in to be temporary CEO after a huge scandal rocks the foundation, adrianna had been running it for so long as Gloria’s assistant. So Elijah automatically pegs her as the enemy.
Adrianna has worked for Gloria for a while, hoping that one day she would be able to step up and run the foundation as CEO but the scandal (caused by Gloria) means the foundation is now under a lot of scrutiny. She hates Elijah from the moment he comes in, making her feel like she is useless.
These two were so fiery I’m OBSESSED with how much they hated each other, like venom spitting level hate. Slowly but surely they go from hate to understanding to falling and I was here for EVERY SINGLE SECOND.
⭐️At this point, I want him to fall off a cliff. Maybe have his brakes go out while he’s on a hill. Something dramatic.⭐️ See! Fiery! 🤣
⭐️“It’s more than that. I know you don’t get it, but she lights me on fire from the inside. When she’s not near me, I feel like I can’t breathe. All I want is to be back by her side. I don’t even remember what life was like before her. I love her, man.”⭐️ Elijah. I love you too!
A classic office enemies-to-lovers romance with sizzling tension, sharp banter, and characters you can’t help but root for.
Adrianna has been holding the company together behind the scenes when Elijah shows up to investigate corruption, convinced she’s part of the problem. What he finds instead is a strong, independent woman who challenges him at every turn. When a bet puts their jobs on the line, sparks start flying and animosity turns into undeniable attraction. Slowly, they begin to see each other and work together like a perfectly matched team.
I loved both leads. Adrianna is smart, bold, unafraid to speak her mind, and who doesn’t shy away from letting Elijah know exactly what she thinks of him. Elijah starts out grumpy and patronizing who assigns her coffee-fetching and meaningless tasks in. But then their dynamic slowly evolves into something powerful and surprisingly emotional. Their chemistry? Off the charts. 🔥 Watching them push and pull, challenge each other, and eventually open up was deeply satisfying.
This was a quick, engaging read with a few emotional twists. If you love a fiery workplace romance with strong-willed characters and serious tension, this one’s for you.
I received this copy free from the author and I'm leaving my review voluntarily and honestly.
Elijah definitely lived up to the title of this book. The man entered the chat, guns blazing and ready to fire everyone who had a hand helping Mason’s mother kidnap his favorite niece who happens to also be the apple of his eye. I honestly loved how enamored with Arianna he was. He was ruthless especially to Adrianna but I didn’t hold that against him because I knew where he was coming from plus he started to see the errors of his way soon-ish. Adrianna didn’t make it easy for him either which was fun and a bit frustrating although if I was in her position, I would probably also not be very forthcoming with information he needed.
They walked a fine line between hate and love until they cross it because they find each other frustrating behold believe and underneath all that, the sexual chemistry was louder in that moment. It was kinda funny seeing them not knowing what to do with all their feelings after that escapade but let’s just say Eli dive right into it because Adrianna was a menace but also perfect for him.
I didn’t love that Adrianna assumed what the end of their bet was going to be because why oh why can she be forthcoming with sexy innuendos but can’t ask if their bet is off. That made me a bit frustrated with her but alas Eli went after his woman and all was well in the end.
I loved seeing more of Mason, Liv and Arianna. They are so happy together. ☺️ I loved seeing them all together but Chloe and Brantley are so interesting. They are gonna be so fun together. I can’t wait to read them!
A true enemies to lovers story, done right! It's a fine line between hate and lust, with Elijah and Adrianna pushing each others limits, testing how far they can go before finally combusting.
So many highlights in this book! I didn't realise how often I was highlighting until I finished and went back through. Not just single lines or quotes either, there's whole paragraphs I loved, laughed or related too. There were just as many funny moments as sexy lines highlighted.
These two are perfect for each other when it comes to their attitudes. Always keeping each other on their toes, they are both headstrong and need a partner that can handle it and push back when needed.
The banter between the family/friends group is so wholesome. They all know exactly when to support, laugh at, or call them on their shit when needed. Their scenes and interactions give all the feels. 🥰
Loved the Clayton James easter egg! 💕
Can't wait for the next entry, finally seeing how Chloe and Brantley clash together!
Oh. My. Goodness. I devoured Mr. Ruthless like it was a decadent dessert with a dangerously addictive filling. This book had me hooked from the first chapter and refusing to come up for air until I’d turned the last page—and even then, I was still reeling.
Written by a powerhouse author duo (seriously, these two must write with sparks flying between their keyboards), this story had everything: layers, heat, heart, and the kind of slow-burn, angry tension that makes you want to scream “JUST X ALREADY!” at your Kindle.
At the center of it all is Adrianna Baker—smart, capable, fiercely devoted to her work at the Williamson Foundation. But then he arrives: Elijah Samson. Cold. Calculating. Ruthless. And her new boss. Cue the drama. Convinced she’s part of the corruption he’s determined to wipe clean, Elijah wants her gone. But Adrianna? She’s not going down without a fight—and when he offers her a bet with her dream job on the line, she bets on herself. I loved the banter between these too. It was funny and charming and raw.
Enemies to lovers? Check. Office power plays? Check. Deliciously tense banter and slow-burn chemistry that melts off the page? Triple check.
And when Elijah finally figures out he wants her? He doesn’t walk—he RUNS. (Swoon.)
I also loved the cameos from Mr. Almost—it felt like seeing old friends at a dinner party. And yes, I am absolutely salivating for book 3. Give it to me now, please and thank you.
Nevermind Mr Ruthless, I was absolutely ruthless reading this - Could not put this page turner down! Such a good enemies to lovers, workplace romance. Adrianna is an EA who’s been running a Foundation organization while the current CEO is flighty and eventually put behind bars. Hoping to throw her hat into the new CEO position as she’s been running it for the past three years until an interim CEO is hired, throwing her off. The interim CEO seems to be the devil incarcerated and has it out for her the moment he steps into the office. Turns out Elijah (the devil) is mistaken on his first impressions of Adrianna, but pride won’t let him admit it. Instead he falls first, fast and deep for her sass and it’s epic! Brilliant book 2 from the Kings of Boston series, a stand-alone with interconnected characters, following the family found band of brothers.
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
Mr. Ruthless follows the story of Adrianna and Elijah. These two witty main characters are at each others throats because of misinformation (assumptions) until one drunken night.
Adrianna has worked at the Williamson Foundation for the last few years as her boss has not really been around. Adrianna has 'run' the foundation in every sense of the word.
Elijah has been tasked with coming in as interim CEO to figure out who will be the next CEO because he truly doesn't want it. For Adrianna to keep her job she becomes Elijah's assistant and it is hard for her to relinquish her daily duties as she was the one looking over invoices, signing off on all the gala decisions and has been for years.
These two clash in everything because Adrianna is a rule follower. Elijah gives her menial tasks because he doesn't trust her. Well, he doesn't really trust anyone. He thinks something fishy is going on and he is trying to figure out where the missing money is and who he needs to fire.
As the story progresses these two get closer and develop feelings. And they get comfortable as they work on the gala to raise money for domestic abuse survivors. Be prepared for this novella to tug at your heart and really root for these two characters to make it work in a world where appearances and money are everything.
Will Elijah choose Adrianna to run the foundation (even without the education) or will he take it for himself?
I seriously loved this enemies to lovers book! Sometimes you get those cringy stories which you already read so many times, but this story really sucked me in and I just walzed through it.
Adrianna is such a strong fmc who doesn’t take cr@p from anyone. Has her head on strong, sassy, beautiful. She helped keeping the company afloat while her boss Gloria was not at all what she seemed to be. This is the downfall of Gloria. Enters Elijah, with deceivingly good looks, a ruthless b@st@rd who decides from the start that Adrianna is the enemy. Elijah was so deliciously ruthlessly written, I even would have drool coming off my lip. The chemistry between them was 🌶️, and so were their scenes!
Another great book from Cala Riley, I loved every part of it, and I can’t wait to read more of their books as ARC reader.🥰🥰 Solid 5/5⭐️ #fyp #book #books #booktok #booklover #instagram #bookgram #arc #arcreader #arcreview #bookreview #honestreview #mrruthless #calariley @Cala Riley @authorcalarileyPA
These girls did it once again with this intoxicating billionaire romance! Adrianna and Elijah are the most delicious story of enemies to lovers! Adrianna is full of personality and doesn’t hold back how she’s feeling or thinking…which was the perfect match for Elijah and his broody personality. The chemistry between these two was explos!ve while retaining the frequent banter, which always makes me giggle. There were many times I truly wanted to k1ck Elijah in the rear for his grumpiness and the excruciating tension! This is a quick read that kept me engaged and FANNING myself! I’m excited for more from this world and other characters, it’s so much fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cala did it again!!! Story that I didn’t want to stop reading!!! Adrianna may have worked for Gloria but she was really overseeing the company. After Gloria’s arrest, her sons put their friend Elijah in charge of the Williamson Foundation and he doesn’t trust Adrianna. He starts to make her life difficult and has her doing minimal tasks until he starts to realize that maybe he has been wrong. Once Elijah has time around Adrianna they set a bet surrounding the gala, this bet will either make Adrianna the CEO or she will be fired. This bet and their relationship start to get a little complicated so will they be able to fall in love, work together or for each other and get past all of the animosity from the beginning of their relationship? Adrianna is such a strong female character, she has lost her mother who was a domestic violence survivor, she has sat back and let Gloria run the show and take credit for all her work, she is feisty and she doesn’t stand down to people. Elijah may have just met his match and it’s in the way of a sassy women that is just his type.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting. Some lines rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning, but besides that, this was a quick, solid read.
Corporate drama/romance with rich asshole dudes, yas please. The romance in this one was really good. I really enjoyed the "we hate each other" from the start, and the evolution was pretty smooth and pleasant to read about. The communication was on point, and the third act breakup was almost nonexistent.
I really liked the side characters, so I'll probably read the next books in this series.
Elijah...Elijah...Elijah! This man was indeed Ruthless when it came to Adrianna. I feel his character was DRASTICALLY different than the man we met in Mr. Almost. When we first meet Elijah in this book, I didn't think he could redeem himself for how cruel he was and I wasn't sure Cala Riley could make me fall in love with him....however in true Cala Riley fashion, I absolutely loved him by the end. I really wish we got a little more of Liv and Mason but otherwise another 5 star read by these amazing ladies!
✨ ARC Review ✨ This book was such a fun read! I picked it up in the middle of exam prep, and it became the perfect little escape during breaks. Was it a cliché? Yes. But honestly, I’m in a phase where those familiar tropes feel really comforting, and this one totally worked for me.
We follow Adrianna, who works as an assistant to the (wildly unhinged) former CEO of the Williamson Foundation. Enter Elijah Samson, the new CEO, who’s convinced Adrianna’s been scheming with his predecessor and is basically out for blood. Cue the delicious angst, sharp banter, and a top-tier enemies-to-lovers vibe that had me hooked.
Also can we talk about Bob? That entire subplot was so wholesome and heartwarming, it really added depth to the story.
Overall, this was such a cute and entertaining read perfect for getting out of a slump. If you’re into light romance with a sprinkle of drama and a whole lot of charm, this one’s for you.
Now available on KU — definitely worth checking out! 💕📚
Enemies to lovers. A trope I have struggled with because I had read so many! But I did really enjoy this book, Elijah assumes that Adrianna must be in the wrong and guilty before he even meets her.
Although he gets there eventually, it is not all plain sailing with everything to solve.
As always I love the mentions of other characters from other series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️/5 This is the second book in the Kings of Boston series, both can be read as standalones. This was a shorter book which I devoured. I love Cala Riley so much. I love how they write enemies to lovers. They write the perfect amount of hate and lust. Adrianna and Elijah were amazing characters. I loved there banter so much. The chemistry between these two was so good. Adrianna is a better women than me, I would be so petty against my boss. I can’t wait to read more books from this series. Tropes- -enemies to lovers -workplace -boss/ assistant
