A fun short little read that reminded me urban legends are more than just stories of Big Foot or the Loch Ness monster. Even as a Seattle native, this book opened me up to different urban legends around the state while shining light on authors around the nation giving their own local legends some exposure. Some stories were more enticing than others but I believe this collection has something for every curious reader to enjoy and learn about.
I also really enjoyed the “juniors” section. Brittany’s decision to include short stories from not just authors, but regular teens and child writers was a nice addition. As a writer myself who started at a young age, seeing some stories from the youth get this opportunity (in all their raw and unedited glory), was an unexpected and solid addition to an already fun collective of tales
