This is a beautifully designed book that is full of encouragement. It uses the TLB and VOICE versions, which I found to be refreshing. As the book progresses, the devotions deal with harder realities, and I like that approach. They encourage you to be diligent in obedience to experience more of God’s peace. It frequently talks about God’s promises and eternal rewards. The brief devotions are perfect for quick pauses in your day. This book would make a great gift for a woman who needs uplifting support.

What an amazing devotional—full of encouragements and God’s promises! This book would be a wonderful asset to women searching for promises to cling to during the hardships and turmoil of life! I found it to be full of the wonderful truths and promises hidden in the Word of God for believers to find and hold to 💛

I love the setup of these devotions! Each page starts with Scripture and ends with a prayer, reminding us to seek God in everything. The daily devotion is short and easy to digest, making it a quick way to receive daily encouragement and focus your brain on the Lord, who should be your number one priority!

This devotional also did an excellent job at driving home the point that we should find our security in God—and God alone! This world and all of its possessions are but for a season, whereas our souls live forever, so we much choose wisely what—or whom—we are putting our trust in.

There were a few small things mentioned in the text of this devotional that I didn’t 100% agree with, but they weren’t big enough issues to make me appreciate the book any less. I would simply advice readers to use some discernment while reading ☺️

This is a beautiful book! It definitely will draw your attention to it if you see it sitting on a shelf or lying next to your Bible. The devotions are meaningful and based on a daily verse. I liked the variety of topics and felt they were covered from a woman's point of view. Each day you will come away with hope in the Lord and a verse or saying to think about during the day. I think it would be a wonderful gift for a birthday, wedding shower or Mother's Day.

I would like to thank the publisher and Netgalley for the temporary ARC digital copy that I read and left my personal thoughts on.

Milk and Honey for a Woman’s Soul is a devotional that feels like sitting quietly with the Lord, letting His promises settle deep. Each entry is short … just a verse, a reflection, a prayer … but somehow there’s enough space for real honesty and comfort. I found myself pausing more than once, letting the reminders of God’s faithfulness and care carry into the rest of my day.

Carey Scott writes with a gentle touch. She keeps the focus on God’s nearness … His willingness to meet us in anxiety, worry, or plain old exhaustion. There’s an undercurrent of hope on every page, even when the prayers are simple. Some days, that’s exactly what I need.

The Scripture passages lean toward paraphrased translations, which gives the language a softer, more conversational feel while remaining accessible. Readers who enjoy in-depth Bible study may appreciate pairing this devotional with time directly in Scripture. But if you need daily reminders that God is present, patient, and true to His promises, this devotional will meet you right there.

It’s beautifully designed … easy to gift, easy to return to, easy to tuck into the moments between the harder parts of life. I appreciate that Jesus is named, repentance isn’t skipped, and the gospel is present, even if the reflections stay gentle.

This devotional gently reminds you that you are loved by Almighty God and held by His sovereign hands.

Women navigating busy days, heavy responsibilities, or just needing a tender word grounded in Scripture will appreciate this quiet companion. For me, every page is an invitation to return again to the steady truth of Scripture.

I received an advanced electronic copy of this book from Barbour Books via NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and was not compensated in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own and reflect my honest evaluation of the book’s writing, content, and Scriptural soundness.

Milk and Honey for a Woman’s Soul is a beautifully refreshing devotional overflowing with encouragement and reminders of God’s unwavering promises. Carey Scott offers a gentle, Scripture-centered collection of reflections that speak directly to a woman’s heart, especially during seasons of hardship, change, or emotional overwhelm. From the first page, this devotional feels warm, grounding, and deeply nourishing—like stepping into a quiet place of rest.

Each of the 180 entries opens with a verse from Scripture, followed by a short and heartfelt devotion, and closes with a simple prayer. The structure makes it incredibly easy to incorporate into daily quiet time. The devotions themselves are down-to-earth, relatable, and written in a “short and sweet” style that makes them accessible no matter how busy your day is. Each reading is rooted in biblical truth and offers a meaningful spiritual takeaway to ponder.

Scott beautifully reminds us that the comforts we cling to in this world are only temporary, gently guiding our hearts back to the God who remains constant through every season. Her reflections feel especially timely, offering steady reassurance and grounding hope in His unchanging promises—comfort we all need when life feels unpredictable. The range of topics she covers is thoughtful and relatable, written through a woman’s perspective in a way that makes each day’s reading feel personal, relevant, and deeply connective.

The physical beauty of the book deserves its own mention—the honeycomb-themed cover is truly lovely, warm, and inviting. It fits the tone of the devotional perfectly and would make this book a delightful gift for birthdays, bridal showers, Mother’s Day, or as a meaningful companion to someone’s private worship time. I also appreciated the Scripture Reference section included at the end of the book—it’s a thoughtful and helpful addition that makes returning to specific themes or verses incredibly easy.

“While He may not answer in our timing or in the ways we’d hoped, we can trust that our Father’s generosity will bless us according to His perfect will.”

Overall, Milk and Honey for a Woman’s Soul is a meaningful, heartfelt devotional—a gentle companion for daily spiritual reflection. The comforting tone, scriptural grounding, and beautiful design make it a joy to read and a wonderful resource for women seeking encouragement, guidance, and renewed focus on the Lord. I highly recommend it for personal use or as a thoughtful gift.
