PRAISE FOR LANE R.

“This is Lane Warenski at his finest, a page turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat begging for more… and more.” – Casey Nash, bestselling author of “Jubal U.S. Marshal.”

“Week after week, month after month and year after year, Lane Warenski, for good reason, resides atop the bestseller lists for his outstanding mountain man novels. With the release of Caleb's Journey comes the start of a new series poised to set the Western book standard for years to come.

Looking for a start, Caleb Miller and his bride, Nettie, join an ill-fated wagon train heading west. With daring action, Caleb saves Nettie from an Indian attack, but they are the only survivors in a dangerous land. Ride along as Caleb must learn quickly or they both will perish. It's a book you won't want to miss.” – Randall Dale, bestselling author of “Branson U.S. Marshal” and many others.

"The western frontier was a hazardous place, welcoming to no one, and bending only to the hardiest. Caleb Miller is a twenty-year-old, orphaned at an early age; he's had to be hardy to survive in civilization, but now, on the Nebraska plains, he's tested like never before." – Charles Ray, bestselling author of the "Caleb Johnson Mountain Man" series.

“Caleb’s Journey is crammed with the danger, thrills and glamour of the pioneer days. Warenski’s tale of the courageous men and women who settled the West is stirring entertainment.” – Scott McCrea, author, "Marshal Ezra Flint" series.

"Another blazing tale of blood and revenge from one of today's best Western writers!" - Terrence McCauley, award-winning, bestselling author of the "Aaron Mackey and Jeremiah Halstead" series.

“Caleb’s Journey is a frontier Western told as only Lane Warenski could tell it. As you read, you can see the prairie grass rippling in the wind and smell the grease used to lubricate the hand-shaped axle Caleb made from a piece of cottonwood tree. This story is a blend of tenderness, action, and suspense that will captivate the reader from the first page to the last!” - Malcolm Hotzman, bestselling author of “A Town Called Blood on the Badge” and many others.

THE FRONTIER IS WHERE THEY BELONG FOR A YOUNG NEWLY MARRIED COUPLE OF 20 YEARS AND 17 YEARS OLD

☆☆☆☆☆

Traveling from Springfield to the frontier, Caleb at twenty years old, and his newly married wife on seventeen years old Nettie find out just how dangerous and hard traveling what seems like the endless plains on their way to the promised land on the western frontier. While traveling the endless plains, they get separated from their wagon train which ends up being attacked leaving them on their own for hundreds of miles in hostile territory finally making their way to Fort Laramie in the Nebraska Territory.

Shortly after arriving at Fort Laramie, Caleb agrees to scout for the fort while providing a means of living and housing himself and Nettie. Even as green Caleb is it doesn't take him long to earn the respect of the men at the fort for not only his scouting skills but for his courage in the face of danger and his determination to keep his fellow soldiers safe from the Cheyenne and Aparaho tribes in the area all along earning the respect of both the chiefs of both tribes as being a great tracker and a fierce worrior. Nettie also earns the respect of the Arapaho has being brave and a great woman warrior when she is kidnapped.

During the first few weeks at Fort Laramie, Caleb and Nettie find themselves newly parents to a five-year-old named Sarah Jane whose parents were brutally killed by a war party of Cheyenne braves who are out to kill all whites that have infringed on their territorial hunting grounds.

This story is a well-written, action-packed, and at times romantic tale that has a little for all of you who enjoy a great western, an action thriller, and a romantic story of a young couple starting to find their place in a new world all at the same time growing as a newly married couple.

Frontier Adventure

Have read hundreds of westerns but this one really reached out and grabbed me. A well written book which kept my interest from page 1 through the entire book. The author did an incredible job of explaining and developing the characters. The pace was fast and dangerous with the excitement flowing with each page. You felt like you were in story living the day to day goods and bads presented during this frontier escape. Read this one!!

Young Caleb Miller, known as the orphan kid, wanted adventure as well as Nettie for a wife. He was alone at a young age and used to hard work. It was 1857 and people were headed west for land, opportunity and challenge itself. Caleb and Nettie were filled with dreams; joined a wagon train; and problems ensued. This is the storyline, and I loved it. They met up with Cheyenne who hated whites, Arapaho who weren't nearly as threatening, and those that would steal a horse right from under you. Life had its hardships every day. This is a great read, and I loved it.

A New Adventure

After a few months reading the 21 book series of Grizzley Killer comes, Caleb & Nettie. This author continues to weave actual places into the tapestry of his stories so well you feel you are on the plains or in the mountains with the characters of his books. You think you’d know these fictitious people if you were to run into them in a history book or in a museum. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
