Junakoira Lampo
Lampo oli valkoturkkinen sekarotuinen koira, joka eräänä kauniina päivänä päätti laskeutua junasta Campiglion asemalla luoteis-Italiassa lähellä Piombinoa, missä kirjan tekijä tuolloin toimi apulaisasemapäällikkönä. Lampo oli suunnattoman fiksu ja rakastettava eläin, eräänlainen "moderni" versio koirasta, neuvokas ja kiinnostunut ihmisistä ja asioista. Ja se rakasti junamatkoja. Se muisti aikataulut, se erotti toisistaan henkilö- ja tavarajunat, tiputtajat ja pikajunat. Eikä se ottanut turhia riskejä. Se tiesi täsmälleen kuinka pitkälle sillä oli varaa matkustaa ehtiäkseen silti hyvissä ajoin takaisin. Sillä aamulla sen piti olla kotona ja työpaikalla - saattamassa Barlettanien pikkutyttöä kouluun.

April 6, 2018No, I am not exaggerating. I have not fallen in any honey trap either. And, of course, nobody has bribed me.
This IS the best story I have read at least in the last five years, if not more.
In spite of being a mere animal tale the subject matter is not confined in the generation of kids. Rather a full grown mind only can absorb it to the fullest.
This is a small novella penned in Italian by Elvio Barlettani and the best part is this is not the work of a fiction. This is about a staggeringly famous dog who used to travel alone by the train in the 5th decade of the last century. A documentary film had also been made on his fascinating life.
I am not going to disclose anything anymore as you would want to explore and discover the real definitions of pure love and friendship from both the sides of animal and human being. It also shows how selfless love for an ownerless dog brings a family more closer, binds the hearts of a of the crews in the railway department of Italy with a single thread.
If you are ready to float in the pool of tears, not of sorrows but much more of happiness, if you are ready to learn what is pure love, if you are ready to discover that ‘impossible’ is nothing but a short form of ‘I am possible’ then grab this book now!
There is no question about reading the original writing as I don’t know Italian. Rather I have read a Bengali translation. Mr Narayan Sanyal, one of the authors among the three most favourite ones, has translated (precisely, adapted) this novella to Bengali. And as his pen is made of platinum, I don’t want to read the English translation anymore, as I am afraid of lessening its taste now. Oh my goodness, what I have read today! Salute you, Mr. Barletanni! Salute you Mr. Sanyal!
Who is your favourite hero? Batman, Superman, Phantom or Spiderman? Salman, Shahrukh, Aamir, Akshay or Hrithik? I bet it will be Lampo immediately after you read this book.

Uno dei libri più belli della mia infanzia. La storia vera di Lampo, un cagnolino bastardo capitato chissà come alla stazione ferroviaria di Piombino, che ha imparato a viaggiare sui treni. La storia di un'anima libera si potrebbe dire in maniera un pochetto retorica.
il libro è narrato da Elvio Barlettani uno dei ferovieri di quella stazione che più aveva a cuore Lampo anche per via della figlia ancora piccola. Si tratta di un romanzo quasi amatoriale, Barlettani non è uno scrittore e si sente, ciò nonostante il libro tocca le corde giuste, anche se non si è più ragazzini...

Kirjailia on pitävinään koirista, mutta käyttäytyy silti ääliömäisesti niitä kohtaan. Tarina koirasta joka piti junareissuista ja osasi palata pitkiltäkin omatoimireissuiltaan takaisin - omatoimisesti junia käyttäen. Tosielämä.

Great true story about an amazing mutt who showed how smart dogs can be. The way he figured out trains, and knew the right times, and walked the little girl to school. It was all just amazing and heartwarming.
