If anyone knew that life could change instantly, it was Stephon Rockwell. His life goals and career trajectory all changed within the blink of an eye. He’d learned to be content with life no matter what was thrown his way, even if he had to do it alone. He preferred it that way because he couldn’t trust what he couldn’t control. That was until a chance encounter and proposition from a business associate led him to a beautiful, uncontrollable force.
Moving through life alone and with reckless abandon had been Jourdan Washington’s driving force since learning the death of her father was premeditated. No man could be trusted without knowing who committed the act, especially not the ones in her line of work. That was until an encounter while on a job led her to a proposition with a business associate, who thrived on the control she was unwilling to give.
With Stephon and Jourdan caught in a struggle of wills and passion, can love exist without trust?
**This series is a spinoff. Not required, but highly recommended, get familiar with Stephon and Jourdan by reading the Love Secrets Series

I’m still trying to figure out what I just read—because this book gave a whole lot of nothing. Jourdan is supposed to be a lioness, but I didn’t see it. She keeps mentioning that she’s “slipping” because of Rock, but slipping from what? Up until that point, there was no real evidence that she was ever in control. Her so-called downfall seemed to come from getting too emotional, making sloppy choices, and being distracted by sex that, quite frankly, came across as mid at best. If you’re going to write a badass FMC, please keep her badass. Tripping and moving sloppy over some dick? Nah Then there’s Rock, who’s supposed to be the next “One” but moves like 0.5. Tragic. The storyline? It read like a confused summer pasta salad—random ingredients thrown together with the hope that something would work. There was no clear structure, no strong pacing, and the plot felt like vibes…sometimes. And as a romance? There wasn’t enough of one to convince me this couple was in love. The chemistry lacked depth, and everything about their connection felt rushed and underdeveloped. On top of that, the writing relied too much on telling instead of showing, which made the characters feel flat and one-dimensional. I’m disappointed, honestly. It’s gonna be hard continuing the series.
For your brother to love you and know that you’re in good hands before you even lay eyes on the man is wild. But big brother knows best because baby the way Rock and the Lioness became is a sweet reminder that you don’t have to be alone. Jourdan was out here being reckless and not herself with how she moved and was going to end up getting herself hurt and or killed. What she didn’t know is she needed someone just as ruthless but sound with the way he moved. I realized this a spin off, but it takes on the story of its own and I loved it. I keep hearing what they are saying but it was not clicking. I think because I really looks at this story line of a book of its own. I loved the chemistry between everyone and how they all are trying to uncover the feelings everyone was trying to fight off. But Baby Steph (Rock) had not one problem being everything and more for Jourdan and allowing her to know they had each other and she didn’t have to shoulder it all on her own. The things discovered in this book and the was it ends lets you know Book 2 is about to be something!!!
4.5⭐️ Stephon “Rock” & Jourdan “Lioness” are two bonafide crash-outs- LOL “0 to 100” real quick. Jojo is hell bent on finding out who was responsible for her father’s murder and will stop at nothing to uncover the details. Once Rock became locked in on Jojo.. it was a wrap. Their chemistry ..undeniable; don’t fight this pull baby! Jojo had to let go of her stubbornness and allow Rock to lead & support her on this mission; “If you can tell me what to do, you can tell me what to do”.. & ROCK DID! The secrets that came out & the cliffhanger!?... mannnn IMMEDIATELY RAN & downloaded BOOK 2!
Rock is my 1A. Baby he can get it. I love a man who moves silently and carries a big stick. Rock and no joke. Devin was correct in trusting him to take over.
But why is Demi crazy?
Jourdan and Stephon were perfect for each other. They were two sides of the same coin. At first I was questioning Ice's request for Rock to marry her, but the match was undeniable. They complimented each other to the fullest.
I knew that Miller was responsible for the actions of the past. But the past always has a way of showing up.
This series is very good and a great continuation of the Love Secrets Series.
I enjoyed this spin off from the Love Secrets series! From start to finish there was this push and pull between the characters. Jourdan and Stephon both were something else with their possesiveness and zero to 100 personalities. Stephon and Jourdan literally are the perfect match. He is observant but deadly and so is she. The cliffhanger at the end had me gagged but off to book two because T.S. Martin dropped a double feature 🫶🏾
If you are on the fence read it. If you haven’t read The Love Secrets series read that first then start here. You will not be disappointed!
Stephon, the story had me on edge. I was hoping the new leader of the streets would get his story.
Jourdan, babygirl, you are a menace. I loved every minute of it. Even your attraction to Stephon. The Bonnie and Clyde aspect was hot as heck. The compliment was there and made the chase and kills that much better.
I know this ending better not be what I think because.... Yeah, let me get into book 2.
I know damn well this ain’t end on no cliffhanger but other than that this book was really good. Jourdan was definitely a wildcat. I loved how they were twin flames like literally one and the same but they meshed really well. Despite them having a lot of similarities they was also different as well. T.S. Did her thing when she crafted these characters.
Wow, finally I can go straight to book 2. I can't wait to see what happens next. Oh, but Jojo and Rock were twin flames. the chemistry was flying off the pages. Let me go get answers now lol!
He had his hands full with Jourdan! They were the perfect match. It took a lot to finally get the closure she needed and a lot of secrets were exposed in the meantime! The next book is going to be crazy!
