4.5 Wolverine was worth the wait Stars
I absolutely love this series and I absolutely loved this book. A lot. Like a lot A LOT. The town of Bluelick.
When can I move? Samanthe Beck, are you taking applications? Because I am so there it's not even funny.
If you've read the previous book in this series (Light Her Fire) and you've been panting at the chance to finally read all about wolverine and Virginia, prepare to read a book with a silly grin on your face the entire time and a major case of lady blue balls. Because wolvering aka Shaun Buchanan is everything you had hoped he'd be and so much more!
What this book has?
A take charge heroine that gives as good as she gets.
Considering that Ginny is running for mayor against someone that isn't afraid to play dirty, you'd expect her to have a good quip or two, and boy does she.
A sexy as all hell SEAL that has no problems getting a little dirty, if you know what I mean.
THE hottest public bathroom sex scene I have ever read. Holy freaking ovaries!
All our favorite characters from previous books along with a good share of humor that will leave you with a goofy smile on your face the entire time.
I adored this book. It was sexy and funny and completely unputdownable. If you haven't discovered this series yet, I strongly advise you to get better acquainted with the town of Bluelick.

4 I wanna move to Bluelick stars!
Too lazy to do a review right now. But let me just say that I love the small town vibe coupled with off-the-charts steam in this series. I'm glad SB expanded this from Private Practice into two more books. Hopefully, there will be more.
Recommended for readers who are looking for a quick, fun, steamy read with a decent plot and no unnecessary dramatics.

5 - "Wolverine's got skills." Stars!
Samanthe Beck is an author that can basically do no wrong in my eyes; she has taken a fictional town and its residents and made me want to move there. Bluelick, Kentucky is definitely on the overachiever side of the scale when it come to hot-single-and-ready-to-mingle men, and all of the ones we have so far met have their own little brand of something special to keep a girl on the slightly damp side.
”I can assure you I haven’t been a virgin for a long time…”
”You are by one important standard.”
“Oh yeah,” … “How do you reckon?”
”You haven’t had sex with me.”
Ginny has featured in the previous two books in this series in that she has been friends with the girls whose stories the books are telling. Ballsy, confident and not afraid to speak her mind, she’s been the talker of the group. It was good to get behind the public persona and see more of the woman behind.

What initially turns out as a haircut and shave in thanks for swooping in and saving the day quickly turns into something a whole lot more for Shaun Buchanan. Ginny as owner of the hair salon is known about town, and since his return, ‘accidentally’ ending up in the vicinity of the woman herself and her hair salon has become something of a habit for him. What she doesn’t know, and what he isn’t aware of is that their physical and emotional connection behind closed doors could have a whole heap of ramifications for the both of them if ever made public knowledge.

I think that Samanthe Beck is probably one of the most accomplished writers that I have come across recently who manages to bring her characters to life in such a way that you feel like you have known them forever, what with giving them really well developed and highly emotive back stories as well as personalities that you can’t help but like, you really feel like you are in Bluelick following along with their trials, tribulations and lives with them.

What is it with small towns and the sexy men that lives there? It seems like this city girl needs to pack up her belongings and move to this small town of Bluelick, Kentucky because Ms. Samanthe Beck did it once again and wrote another HOT READ in Falling for the Enemy. Ms. Beck must warn her readers that this book will heat up your kindles because I must say she did an amazing job turning up the heat and sexiness. Umm...let me just say there are so many hot scenes in this book that you can’t just pick one from the hair salon, public restroom, and oh so many more.
Virginia “Ginny“ Boca is one sassy salon owner who happened to be rescued by one hot stranger known as Wolverine. Well this hot alpha male does not have the claws but he sure does have the hot brooding sexy body that will drives the ladies of Bluelick crazy hence the moniker Wolverine. So does this wolverine have a name? Yes, and he goes by the name Shaun Buchanan. Shaun is a former NAVY SEALS and is back in his hometown adjusting to civilian life. Shaun seems to enjoy being alone but when it comes to Virginia, he can’t seem to stay away from this red haired beauty. One haircut was all it took for things to sizzle between these two. A haircut that led to one smoking hot kiss then lots of rinse and repeat. All I can say after that one haircut, Shaun was hooked and consumed with Ginny.
That one hot sensual night in the salon was it all it took for these two to have you blushing. One night turned to oh so many hot sexy scenes. As Ginny and Shaun begins to spend more time together, Shaun’s identity begins to unraveled when Ginny learns that he happens to be the current mayor of Bluelick’s son. A conflict of interest begins to surface because Ginny is running against Shaun’s father for the mayor position. So can Ginny stay away from the enemy’s son? Or will she find herself falling in love with enemy?
All I got to say is GO READ ‘Falling for the Enemy’ by Samanthe Beck. If you want romance, sexiness, and oh so many delicious scenes with Wolverine then look no further because Falling for the Enemy has it all. Ms. Beck does a fabulous job incorporating romance, drama, and steam. It had a story line that was well paced and characters that you will end up falling in love with. Ms. Beck will have her readers declaring ‘ When can I move to Bluelick, Kentucky?’

Ginny has put herself on a sex hiatus as she is running for Mayor and she does not want any rumors about herself going around Bluelick but every time she sees "Wolverine" she gets wet panties.
Shaun is the mysterious stranger who has been seen around town for the last few weeks after he saves Ginny's life the least she can do is offer him a haircut and shave but what Ginny does not know is Shaun is the eldest son of Tom the towns Mayor and her nemesis.
A haircut turn into a night of wickedly hot sex and one night turns into many nights of sexcapades but Ginny wants to keep it a secret but Shaun wants to shout it from the rooftops, what will happen?
Lots of sizzling sex, laughs with the gang and some emotion.

Samanthe Beck once again brings her readers a five-start sizzling read with amazing characters and everything from sexy shenanigans to sweetness. I loved Ginny and Wolverine. There is little more I can say because, to quote Ginny, "Wolverine's got skills...
Once again, everything worked perfectly; enemies to lovers is a favourite of mine and Ginny and Shaun's strengths, vulnerabilities, between-the-sheets/washroom/hair salon antics and fight brought a journey that I devoured and kept me riveted whilst being watched for a concussion (seriously). It made me laugh, sigh, swoon and fan myself, it had moments where I just wanted to hold Shaun tight and with an epilogue that tied up the previous books in the series perfectly, Falling for the Enemy was the full package.

Third person, Dual-POV, HAE. Can be read as standalone.
"One kiss hardly qualifies as a scandal. Let's give 'em something to talk about."This was a FUN read. I have a feeling I'll most likely work my way through all of Brazen's series by the end of the year because... let's face it... they're super enjoyable, and filled with yummy sex.
Samanthe Beck is new to me, but I'll definitely be reading more by her. The story had an amazing flow, the characters were engaging and the relationship was one you could root for.
Plus... I mentioned sex right? The chemistry between these two was off the charts hot. Ex-SEAL, strong-willed woman running for mayor? Sign me up. When they come together, it's explosive.
"I'm full of expectations. I expect you to let me peel those thin, tight, and very damp shorts down your legs. I expect you to give my mouth and tongue and hands free reign until you're biting your lip to keep from begging for more. And when I give you more, I expect you to scream my name in gratitude."Shaun is my perfect hero: strong, dominant and protective. (We'll just ignore the fact that I'll basically read anything with the word SEAL in the blurb.) I really liked him.
Falling for the Enemy essentially sums up the premise pretty well - Shaun is the son of the current (corrupt) mayor, and it would look terrible for Virginia (Ginny to most, sweet Virginia to Shaun) to be sleeping with anyone from his family. But when he saves her from the path of a speeding vehicle (driven by Shaun's half brother. Seriously... the family needs help), and she offers a haircut as payment, neither anticipate being so sexually attracted to one another.
Hope she cleaned the counters before business hours the next day, if you know what I mean.
"Sweet Virginia, you've got me so worked up I can't trust myself. If you let me in your mouth, I'm going to own it. I've been fantasizing about this too long to sit by like a gentleman while you have your fun."
Shaun, typically plagued with terrible PTSD, finds he's more at peace with Virginia. He can't stay away from her, and they begin a tryst that's 100% secret. Sneaking around, hiding from neighbors, the whole shebang.
But as they progress sexually, so do their feelings for one another.
It was so fun to watch them figure out what to do with their newfound feelings.
I picked this out of the lineup in the series because SEAL, obviously. But I really liked the supporting characters who are featured in the other books individually, so I'll most likely read those too.
Read this in one sitting, couldn't put it down. Great for a quick, hot read.

With each and every book I read by Samanthe Beck I fall more and more for her and her writing. She's an auto-buy for me and Falling for the Enemy has solidified that even more.
Ginny Boca has sworn off men and sex... not even the sexy, hot new man she sees walking around town can change her mind, but when he pulls her off the street, saving her from a crazy driver she can't help but imagine what it'd be like to get to know him. Instead she offers a free haircut.
Shaun Buchanan's plan to stay under the radar gets shot to hell when he saves Virgina from getting run down on the street and he certainly didn't expect his free haircut to turn into a night of amazing sex... but it did. And the fact that he's the current mayor's son and Ginny is running against him in the election adds just another complicated layer.
But both Ginny and Shaun aren't ready to stop meeting each night, and Shaun doesn't want to be kept a secret forever... only Ginny isn't sure they can be anything more than what they currently are.
I loved loved loved Ginny. She's strong and smart and she goes for what she wants. She's proud of who she is and what she does and she knows she has a lot to offer their little town... she's not going to just let the current mayor make a fool out of her either.
And Shaun... dear lord. Beck had me at former Navy Seal. I seriously have a thing for military guys and Shaun is a perfect example of why. Strong and alpha and protective, but respectful and polite and willing to do what he has to to take care of those he loves.
These two together were definitely explosive and I really enjoyed getting to know them.
Anything by Samanthe Beck is a must read and this is just another to add to the list! I'm definitely looking forward to anything and everything Beck writes for us next!

This series is one sexy book after another. Nothing is exactly taboo, and the characters are adventurous, so it’s always full of surprises.
But here, there was also a non romantic main plot: the mayor’s election. Ginny is a candidate because she doesn’t agree with some policies decided by mayor Buchanan regarding the town’s law enforcement. That doesn’t please Buchanan, and it happens he has some secrets to hide. But Shaun is Buchanan’s son, so it becomes complicated.
Though I kind of understood Ginny’s logic for keeping her relationship secret, I wasn’t sure the consequences would be as bad as she thought. Nothing a good explanation couldn’t resolve. Talk about making a mountain of a molehill. And it was kind of sad seeing Shaun struggling with his status as a dirty secret. Of course, it also added to the romantic part of the story.
Ginny and Shaun’s relationship was volcanic–right from their first encounter. I would have enjoyed to see more non sexual scenes between them, to feel the love. But since it’s a secret relationship, it was understandable. Of lust, there was plenty.
There was also some girl talk between the various female characters of the series, and I enjoyed it. I’ll definitely dig into this author’s backlist.

But here, there was also a non romantic main plot: the mayor’s election. Ginny is a candidate because she doesn’t agree with some policies decided by mayor Buchanan regarding the town’s law enforcement. That doesn’t please Buchanan, and it happens he has some secrets to hide. But Shaun is Buchanan’s son, so it becomes complicated.
Though I kind of understood Ginny’s logic for keeping her relationship secret, I wasn’t sure the consequences would be as bad as she thought. Nothing a good explanation couldn’t resolve. Talk about making a mountain of a molehill. And it was kind of sad seeing Shaun struggling with his status as a dirty secret. Of course, it also added to the romantic part of the story.
Ginny and Shaun’s relationship was volcanic–right from their first encounter. I would have enjoyed to see more non sexual scenes between them, to feel the love. But since it’s a secret relationship, it was understandable. Of lust, there was plenty.
There was also some girl talk between the various female characters of the series, and I enjoyed it. I’ll definitely dig into this author’s backlist.

Shaun “Wolverine” Buchanan has quit his Navy SEAL life, and finds himself back in his hometown of Bluelick. Wandering the streets in his familiar ghostlike skulk, a spirited, red haired siren catches his eye, and he finds himself drawn to her, admiring her from the shadows.
Following an incident, which causes Shaun to come out from obscurity, their association commences, innocent initially. But their lust bubbles very close to the surface, and any promises Ginny made to herself. are well and truly tested. What she doesn’t know is that any coalition with this fine feral friend, could scupper her chances with the forthcoming election.
I really relish coming across a new story from Samanthe Beck, who seems to have an enviable ability to mix humour, steam and a captivating storyline with ease.
Ginny was full of life, love and licks, and saw through Shaun’s vulnerability, heightened by his last operational experience. She had a persona larger than herself, and alongside her friends, I felt she was my new BFF before she’d even got the shaving implements out!
Shaun was ruggedly beautiful, hypnotically seductive, and lustfully mine..yes mine. That was my lip, and definitely MY ass! He wouldn’t be a back-alley booty call for me.
I definitely look forward to venturing back to Bluelick soon.

*happy sigh* I LOVE Samanthe Beck's books!!! Every single one of them! The writing is catching and it drags you into the book effortlessly. So I was not surprised by the fact that Falling for the Enemy was no different.
When I finished reading Light Her Fire not that long ago, I was curious about the mysterious stranger who appeared a few times through the book. My wishes came true when I found out that I would have a chance to read about him.
On the hotness scale of ten, this book was a solid seven (Light Her Fire was 11!... you should really read that one as well if you like steamy romance), but it was still just as good as the author's other novels.
Ginny and Shaun made a great couple and the chemistry between them was sizzling.

Well written but it took me a while to fully get into it and felt the chemistry with the characters. It turned out to be a good read. Cute small town romance even thought it needed a bit more umph..

Für mich ist dies nun schon der 3. Band dieser Reihe, welchen ich gelesen habe und auch dieser weiß wieder zu überzeugen.
Die Geschichte ist sinnlich, sexy, heiß und romantisch zu gleich. Witzig, spritzig und lebendig. Der Humor kommt schon in den ersten Kapiteln voll durch und beschert uns somit einen sehr genussvollen Einstieg in die Geschichte.
Was doch ein beinahe Unfall und ein kostenloser Haarschnitt so alles auslösen können! Ihr ahnt es nicht? Gut, denn ihr solltet dieses Buch wirklich lesen und ich mag auch keinen sonderlich spoilern, daher werde ich auf den Inhalt nicht so genau eingehen.
Ginny würde ich als ehrgeizig, vernünftig und verantwortungsbewusst. Sie hat Power im Blut und das Herz auf dem rechten Fleck. Einfach eine Person, die man als Leser ins Herz schließt.
Nun ja, ihr Haarschnittkandidat ist im ersten Augenblick Geheimnis umwoben, dennoch merkt man schnell beim Lesen was ihn wirklich ausmacht. Er kann anpacken, arbeitet hart, weiß was er will und wie er es bekommt, hat jahrelange militärische Ausbildung und Kampf hinter sich. Ist ehrlich und leider Gottes mit einer unmöglichen Familie geschlagen und hat durch einen Einsatz ein Trauma erlitten.
Das Knistern zwischen den beiden ist von Anfang an gleich mehr wie ein Flächenbrand, die Geschichte ist mit Sinnlichkeit gespickt, dennoch hat man immer noch einen Handlungsstrang und interessante Nebencharaktere, welche die Geschichte bereichern. Trotz einiger Probleme kommt dieses Buch ohne das ganz große Drama aus und dafür bin ich sehr dankbar. Man braucht nicht immer dieses ganz große Theater um ein gutes Buch zu genießen und eine Geschichte zu lieben.
Oft ist eben weniger mehr und hier ist es eindeutig wunderbar umgesetzt worden.
Gerne hätte ich noch ein paar Kapitel mehr gehabt von der Geschichte. Ich kann sie ganz klar empfehlen. Von mir gibt es daher sehr gute 4,5 Sterne.

Third book in the series features Ginny, friend to Melody and Ellie, the heroines in the earlier books, and Shaun Buchanan, long lost son of Tom Buchanan, useless mayor of Bluelick. Ginny plans on running for mayor against Tom, when Shaun shows up, haunted from his time as a SEAL. Then, romance….
The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
Ginny’s a solid heroine: she’s running for Mayor of Bluelick, which I love - you don’t see alot of heroines involved in civic life, period never mind running for office. Ms. Beck has been consistent with Ginny’s motivation concerning her desire to run for office through the series, and it is a genuine obstacle for Ginny and Shaun to face - dating in a small town while he is the son of the current mayor.
Shaun’s a yummy SEAL: like most military heroes, Shaun is haunted by his service but it is not the focal point of his story. What I found most fascinating is how honorable he is and how he follows through with it when it would be easy, and understandable, to choose another option.
Sexual chemistry up the wazoo: as I’ve come to see in most of Ms. Beck’s work, the sex scenes are fantastic.
Standard storyline: I think it’s fairly clear from the very beginning how the story will end. I still enjoyed it, but there were no big surprises, perhaps a little one towards the end.
The Bottom Line
I’ve really enjoyed this series - Shaun and Ginny are a great way to wrap this up...unless there’s more to come and I’d be happy to keep reading.

I think that Shaun and Ginny might be my favorite Bluelick couple. I have enjoyed how well Ms. Beck combined the "Brazen" aspects and the small town setting in the Private Pleasures series .
Ginny was a great character, she wasn't needy or bogged down with "issues" and Shaun was practically normal (with a few little bits of issue here and there) In other words, there wasn't a bunch of crazy miscommunication or stupid back and forth.
I truly enjoyed Ginny and Shaun. Shaun and his "Sweet Virginia" had my knees all wobbly and he was a perfect mix of affectionate and dominant with some stellar dirty talkin' thrown in.
I have more to say but I'll save it for later.

I could have sworn that I read this years ago, and I probably did and requested it again and let me tell you that it did not bother me in the slightest that I probably read it because it was nice and hawt!! It was just what I needed, a lot of smexy. I wanted something that I didn't have to think a lot of about but just enjoyed and this was it. We had Ginny who was running for Mayor but whose day job was also a hair dresser (yeah) only in small towns, and she so happens to give a sexy navy seals a hair cut as they have a whole lot of chemistry just practically melting everything around them come to find out that he is the father of her enemy, but will it stop the forest fire that they are setting around them, nope.

Quick & Dirty: A hot, sexy novel filled with secrets and small town political intrigue. A little anticlimactic but still a fun story overall.
Opening Sentence: Holy crap, I’m going to die like a gnat, splattered against a windshield.
The Review:
Falling for the Enemy is the third novel in the Private Pleasures series featuring residents from the small town of Bluelick, Kentucky. This novel was a hot but sweet romance. I enjoyed the characters of Ginny and Shaun, especially Shaun.
Virginia Boca knows all the local secrets of Bluelick as the resident hairdresser. She also sees how bad the town has suffered under the leadership of the current mayor. She even has to suffer from harassment from the mayor’s terrible teenage son. Ginny decides to become the voice of change for her town and runs for mayor.
Recently, a new man has been showing up around town. Ginny has dubbed him Wolverine since he kind of reminds her of the X-Men character. The man seems to keep to himself until Ginny invites him in for a haircut. They both have a bit of a fascination with the other so it is no surprise that they take things all the way during their first encounter with each other.
Shaun is an ex-Navy Seal and the current mayor’s oldest and estranged son. He suffers from PTSD including not being able to sleep. When he finds out Ginny is being attacked he helps her find out who is targeting her. It also helps him stay all night with Ginny when she realizes who he is and doesn’t want to be seen with him.
Ginny and Shaun’s relationship is very hot and heavy but they try to keep it behind closed doors. (Unlike the previous book, that couple verged on exhibitionism.) I really enjoyed Ginny’s wit, how she seemed to stick to her guns and how she didn’t hold anything back. She spoke whatever was on her mind. She knows what she wants and sometimes it may not quite include the guy. Shaun on the other hand was extremely hot and tortured. He wants Ginny so bad that he abides by her crazy stipulations even though he is trying to show to her that he isn’t taking sides with his father. He even tries to help Ginny with Justin (his teenage brother who keeps allegedly attacking her).
My only complaint about Falling for the Enemy was the climax of the book. I felt that it was very anti-climactic and even a little rushed (although in book time it wasn’t). Terrible things happened but I felt it was kind of a letdown overall especially when it pertained to her secret, hidden relationship. I still enjoyed Ginny and Shaun’s relationship but I think I like the couple from Light Her Fire better.
It really isn’t necessary to have read the previous books before picking this one up. There are little nuggets in Light Her Fire about the reasoning behind Ginny’s decision to run for mayor and more of an explanation of why Justin is such a snot. The benefit is knowing who some of the town residents without having to explain their role in the story.
Falling for the Enemy was told from both Ginny and Shaun’s third person perspectives. I really have enjoyed the small town atmosphere this series has and the comradery that the residents all have for each other.
Overall, the novel was sexy with humor and a twist of real world politics. I would really like to know if there will be more books set in this series because there is at least another couple who I’d like to see show up with a novel of their own.

Ginny glowed. “Just for that, I’m going to give you dinner.” She leaned in and kissed his cheek, and the pure affection in the gesture caught him by surprise. His body’s reaction was significantly less surprising, but before he could catch her around the waist and pull her down on top of him, she bounced off the sofa. “Come on into the kitchen. Everything’s ready.”
Before dinner went on the table, he had some cards to put there first. He stood and snagged a couple fingers into the back pocket of her jeans, stopping her in mid-stride. She turned to him and raised an eyebrow.
“I may not be pursuing many at the moment, but I know what goals are. In understand why running for mayor is important to you. I realize this” –he pointed to both of them—‘is complicated, and risky, and a really bad idea, but we both know it’s going to keep happening. For some reason, right now, we both need this in our lives. I can’t explain why, but I can tell you one thing. Uncle Sam trusted me with all kinds of delicate situations, and you can, too. I know how to be discreet. I’m trained for stealth.” Time for the hard sell, because this mattered. Apparently he did have a goal, after all. “I can get you off like a personal toy all night, every night, and nobody in town will be the wiser.”
Big green eyes found his and held. “I’m counting on it.”

Falling for the Enemy was told from both Ginny and Shaun’s third person perspectives. I really have enjoyed the small town atmosphere this series has and the comradery that the residents all have for each other.
Overall, the novel was sexy with humor and a twist of real world politics. I would really like to know if there will be more books set in this series because there is at least another couple who I’d like to see show up with a novel of their own.

“So, you’re the bimbo running for mayor.”
She laughed. “Yeah, that’s me. I like to think Grandma wouldn’t put it quite that way.”

Ginny glowed. “Just for that, I’m going to give you dinner.” She leaned in and kissed his cheek, and the pure affection in the gesture caught him by surprise. His body’s reaction was significantly less surprising, but before he could catch her around the waist and pull her down on top of him, she bounced off the sofa. “Come on into the kitchen. Everything’s ready.”
Before dinner went on the table, he had some cards to put there first. He stood and snagged a couple fingers into the back pocket of her jeans, stopping her in mid-stride. She turned to him and raised an eyebrow.
“I may not be pursuing many at the moment, but I know what goals are. In understand why running for mayor is important to you. I realize this” –he pointed to both of them—‘is complicated, and risky, and a really bad idea, but we both know it’s going to keep happening. For some reason, right now, we both need this in our lives. I can’t explain why, but I can tell you one thing. Uncle Sam trusted me with all kinds of delicate situations, and you can, too. I know how to be discreet. I’m trained for stealth.” Time for the hard sell, because this mattered. Apparently he did have a goal, after all. “I can get you off like a personal toy all night, every night, and nobody in town will be the wiser.”
Big green eyes found his and held. “I’m counting on it.”

Falling for the Enemy is the third book in author Samantha Beck’s Private Pleasures series. This is a series I have loved for the beginning written by an author I adore but I must say, Falling for the Enemy is by far my favorite of Ms. Beck’s work yet. Oh my yum, this book was packed with passion, emotion, and even a bit of mystery and suspense. I loved every smoldering second of this story.
Ginny Boca has had enough. She’s got enough on her plate with being the owner of her town’s beauty shop and deciding to run for mayor that she surely doesn’t need the aggravation of sex or men. She was tired of having bad relations with the same men and was swearing off sex, at least until the election was over. Of course there was one man she would consider making the exception for…if her ever spoke to her that is. The dangerously sexy and handsome stranger she affectionately nicknamed Wolverine had been in her sights since he showed up a few weeks ago. She soon realized he was out of the question because he acted like a ghost, appearing and disappearing in town without even a wave of hello. But there was something about him, the way he carried himself that told Ginny he was something special. Sort of unluckily, they would finally get their chance to meet what he jumps in and saves her from almost getting run over while crossing the street. Ginny realizes at that moment that he is even better up close than she ever imagined and she has to do something to repay his selfless act. Coincidence that he seems to be in need of a haircut, no? Bingo…
Former Navy SEAL Shaun Buchanan was only back in his hometown for as long as it took to figure out what he was going to do next. His life. His career. He had no clue. I sat down to start this book; only having about an hour to read at that time, and quickly realized I needed to change my plans for the day. No way was I putting this book down. And I didn’t. From the very beginning there was something about Shaun (aka Wolverine) that had me hooked. He was the strong, silent newcomer that had a way about him that just drew me in…as it did Ginny. Of course that was only a peek into what Shaun has to offer. He’s kind and patient. Struggling with his demons alone and my heart broke for him. He’s loyal and strong and truly a man’s man. Oh, and he is 100% alpha in and out of the bedroom….totally delicious! Ginny is also amazing. She’s got a good head on her shoulders and has a way with people that makes her honest and extremely likeable. She’s a fantastic match for Shaun in so many ways and the fire and passion they share was off the freaking charts! Adding to these two amazing characters is the drama of someone trying to sabotage Ginny’s bid for mayor and this book is the total package.
Scandal, mystery, emotion, passion, and beyond sexy, Falling for the Enemy is a book all romance loves should pick up. Thank you, Ms. Beck, for one of my favorite reads this season!

Falling for the Enemy is the third book in Samanthe Beck's Private Pleasures series and I enjoyed it just as much as the previous ones. Each of the books in this series have been fun, sexy romances with great characters and a fun small town setting and I've enjoyed every visit to Bluelick.
We met Ginny and Wolverine, AKA Shaun, in the previous book and I was looking forward to getting to know them better. Ginny is the town hairdresser and often underestimated because of that but she cares about Bluelick and it's residents, she spends a lot of time listening to their problems and complaints and has decided that it's time to do something about that by putting herself forward as a candidate for mayor. Shaun has only recently returned to the town he grew up in but has done his best to keep himself to himself and stay out of the public eye. He is the epitome of dark and mysterious and the chemistry between him and Ginny is irresistible. The one slight problem is that his father is the current mayor and Ginny's main opponent for the position. Ginny is scared to do anything to risk her chance of winning and the last thing she needs is a town scandal where she is caught dating her enemy's son but can she resist Shaun's charms?
I really liked both of these characters, they know exactly what they want and are willing to fight to get it. I did find myself slightly annoyed with Ginny for the way she was constantly telling Shaun that they had to keep their affair a secret and was then complaining to herself that he never stayed the night but I was having so much fun reading the story that I was able to ignore my irritation. They fit really well together as a couple and I enjoyed seeing Shaun worm his way into her affections. The one thing that could have made me enjoy the story more would have been Ginny making more of a stand and telling the rest of the town that she loved Shaun and was going to date him no matter what they thought of their relationship. I did love the way Shaun stood by her though and he certainly makes enough effort to win over anyone!
Falling for the Enemy is a steamy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and would happily recommend to contemporary romance fans. Although this book would work as a stand alone all three stories have been great so I would suggest buying them all and reading them in order so you can get to know each of the couples.

Simply put, Falling for the Enemy by Samanthe Beck is a must read. I’m happy to say that I’ve read all of Samanthe’s books and she definitely doesn't disappoint with this one.
Virginia “Ginny” Boca is a hairdresser and salon owner. Shaun Buchanan is a career soldier. The two first meet when Shaun saves Ginny from his idiot younger half brother, almost running her over. With no more than a chance to say thank you to the stranger who saved her, the two part ways.
Ginny has had enough of the current politics and political leadership of Bluelick and decides to run for mayor. She knows that to beat the current mayor, Tom Buchanan, she has to keep her nose clean. So no partying hard and no revolving door of men. Better yet, no men what-so-ever! Too bad the sexy, dark, and mysterious “Wolverine”, the man who saved her, fills her thoughts and dreams.
Shaun has returned to Bluelick to figure out his next move. He’s tired of the military life. Shaun wants to keep a low profile. Too bad he can’t stop thinking about one certain hairdresser, who has the ability to talk too much and yet put people at ease at the same time.
Ginny catches Shaun crossing the street and convinces him to let her give his shaggy hair and beard a cut. What should be something innocent turns into more. The result is the two of them christening almost every surface and seat in Ginny’s salon. For these two, one time just isn’t enough. With Ginny running for office, she has to keep her relationship with Shaun under wraps. It never occurs to her to find out what Shaun’s last name is and Shaun could really care less of the politics of Bluelick.
But things change when Shaun’s last name is revealed and Ginny has to wonder if she can trust Shaun at all. There’s more to this couple than just sex. Ginny is a really good person who truly wants the best for her community. Shaun, as with all of Samanthe’s heroes, is incredible. He has a sense of honor that is unmatched. When put to the test, he will always do the right thing.
Of the three books in this series so far, this is by far my favorite. You just have to read for yourself to find out why.

Samanthe Beck has another winner with Falling for the Enemy, the third book from her Private Pleasures series. The setting for this book and the first two is the quintessential small town of Bluelick, Kentucky, where everyone knows your name, address and serial number. This story centers around salon owner Virginia Boca and former Navy SEAL Shaun Buchanan. Virginia is a beautiful, outgoing woman who just happens to be a good listener. Shaun is trying to figure out his future while keeping a low profile about town. He notices Virginia from afar and after getting to know her in every way possible, finds that his nightmares are practically non-existent. Shaun's talents both in and out of the bedroom have caused Virginia to abandon her self-imposed celibacy rule.
This is both a hot and sweet love story. Virginia and Shaun have amazing chemistry and Ms. Beck evolves their relationship with a unique combination of warmth and desire. These two characters transported me to Bluelick, as I watched their relationship unfold in real-time. Virginia and Shaun are well-defined, and I could not get enough of them. I did not want the story to end because I just wanted to remain in their lives.
Ms. Beck beautifully combines excitement, heat, drama and a little bit of kink into this romantic read. OMG Ginny! I fracking loved her. I want her to be my friend. She's just one of those characters you can't help but love. If she were running for mayor of my town, I'd totally vote for her.
And Shaun? The brooding bachelor with scars so deep you can't help but wanna scoop him up and hug him. Not that he'd be someone's cuddle partner. You don't cuddle with someone like Shaun Buchanan unless it's preceded by some seriously hot sex.
Every book in this series, when I finished I'd be like "THAT one was my favorite" but to be honest, I don't know if I can pick just one. This whole series had unique plot lines with intrigue, sexy times and sweet moments all throughout. I challenge you to find someone who can pull that off better than Samanthe. (Just a tip - don't try too hard... your efforts will be fruitless.)

I loved this one. It was sexy, funny and full of amazing characters. Our couple Ginny and Shaun find themselves at the opposing ends of a mayoral election. I love that the heroine is the one running for office. Shaun's father is the incumbent and he plays dirty (the father I mean.) Both were not aware of this in the beginning and had one steamy encounter. There were several laugh-out-loud moments. One was when our couple finally found out that they were "enemies" and the other had to do with a pond. :)
If you're looking for a quick, humorous, sexy read and cure for mediocre ones, I think this one's a top pick!

Not too good, I liked this less than I expected to.,
I put this book down many times, even though it is short and should have been a breeze to read. I think it was because I did not get a sense from either of the MCs that they knew what they were doing. The whole, hiding the relationship from the town because of the mayoral campaign was too much contrived tension for me.

Great story!
I have serious love for a honest hero with integrity and this former Navy SEAL, Shaun Buchanan, has it in spades. Not to mention he's sweet, thoughtful, and all kinds of sexy. Probably one of my favorite heroes of Samanthe Beck's thus far.
I enjoyed this story so much and can't wait to read more books by this author!
