◦ I've received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review ◦

I loved Ayna in her bird form and the struggles she was going through. The details from her crow life were so real and also a bit of anxiety-inducing because of her internal thoughts.
Loved seeing again Kaira and Herinor and I hope sometime we can get a story about them!

⮞ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝-𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 ⮜
Their world is always captivating, the different magic system and how two species are working together will captivate you so much and make it feel so real. Loved every detail and battle scenes.

⮞ 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝/𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞𝐝 ⮜
I loved seeing the difference from human life, to crow life, and her final transformation. Ayna has gone through A LOT of stuff, but her crow life was very intense and so interesting to me. I loved seeing those details. However, it irked me that once again Ayna had to sacrifice herself, and I felt that the bad moments were being a bit too stretched out, like there's barely a happy moment and it has gone for quite a long while now. While it irked me that once again something goes bad, the execution of those scenes is really, really good, they are so emotional, and so powerful that you'll have all the feels. The story captivated me. I loved the fighting scenes, and their internal thoughts, and how Kaira slowly is falling for Herinor - as I said previously, a story with them would be SO amazing to read, especially when Herinor is also such a dark-ish character.

⮞ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞/TW ⮜
The story I'd say is around 3.5 flame peppers spicy, there are only a few scenes with spice, but not overly descriptive. Whenit comes to trigger warnings, there are a few scenes quite descriptive when comes to battles that may trigger people. You also have abuse, blood, being trapped, and kidnapped.

I don’t even know where to start for this review. First of all, I’m so blessed I got to read the ARC because the ending of Claws of Death had me on the edge of my seat.

Myron & Anya’s (holy surprises there!) story keeps getting better but we also get to see POV from some of our other favorite characters. Betrayal, heartache, war and unyielding love all come together to make yet another amazing book by the queen of the Alcunaire herself! I wish I could say more, but I don’t want to give anything away. If you’ve been wondering if you should read the Wings of Ink series, stop wondering and start reading.!!
Also.. Angelina.. the ending!! Cannot wait for the final book!!!!!!!

This series is starting to become very, very cyclical. Will book 5 be the first book since the beginning of the series where Myron and Ayna are together the entire time? Or will they be separated yet again? I think this is starting to get a bit too drawn out and should have been a trilogy instead of a quintology.

I'll read the conclusion to this series. Overall, I do enjoy this series, but this definitely feels like a setup to the conclusion.

Like this series but way too drawn out. It’s like one of those soap operas …how many times can someone be kidnapped, raped, tortured, captured, and the same to their mate, without it all getting to be just a little too too.

OK, so I really do like this storyline, but it's going on forever! I can't believe this isn't the last book! I feel like it should have been a trilogy. Not a 5 book series. (Oh how I hope it's only 5 books!

I love this entire series, and this is another good book in the series. I really love how the book pulls more of the “lore” into the story, and runs with it. It really added some extra depth, and Im here for it. The book still continues on with the overall plot as well, while adding this in. All the new stuff is just adding so many more layers to the story. The romance always has me sucked in, and has since book 1. With how the last book ended I was nervous how the romance would play out, but honestly theres no need to worry. This book is exciting, and ended with me on my toes wondering whats going to happen next (again lol). I Absolutely love it!

This Fantasy Romance is Book 4 in the Wings of Ink Series. The Romance in this book is Mate Bonds. The book does have some spice, and the spice is descriptive. The book moves at a steady pace following Anya as she is stuck after using her powers in a way she was warned against. Myron in desperation to help his mate is willing to do anything, even make deals with anyone or anything willing to listen. All while war rages around them, and their enemies close in. This is a thrilling, and page turning book.

It felt like the moment everything the characters have endured finally comes crashing down around them. The friendships here are stronger than ever not just allies, but the kind of brother-and-sisterhood bonds that are forged through loss, trust, and sacrifice. Love, which started quietly in the earlier books, becomes fierce now, something worth fighting kingdoms for. But the lies run deeper than anyone wants to admit, and the greed for power tightens its grip on every choice they make. The betrayals in this book don’t just shock you they break pieces of your heart. Every chapter feels heavy with destiny, danger, and the question of who will still be standing at the end. I felt every moment.

I think this one might be my favorite in the series so far.

Your heart will get shattered in more ways than one, but it’ll also get filled back up to the brim, almost bursting.

There’s action and heartache, and you’ll feel like you never want to leave this world.

Thank you to Angelina Steffort for an ARC of this book. This review contains honest opinions.

This author wrecks me! EVERY! SINGLE! BOOK! She takes my heart and shreds it, slowly, one piece at a time. But then, she lovingly, skilfully, picks up the ruined strands and put them back into their rightful place, until said heart is ready to combust with exultation! One thing is a no brainer, Ms Steffort has full and complete control of every organ in my body! The redemption arc is so stunningly crafted, so well spun and woven into the fabric of this outstanding tale, I'm, quite literally, agog! Most notably with Herinor, a character I loathed with every fibre of my being, who now I adore. To take such a vile character, a traitor, and breathe a newness to him, spark every ounce of empathy, sympathy from me, well shoot, THAT is pure brilliant penmanship!

Her ability to take a story to unprecedented heights is simply outstanding! The realism is outstanding. Just those scenes with Anya as a crow, the repercussions to herself and Myron, is enough to undo me! Trying to keep herself aware of WHO she is and not lose herself, not being able to communicate, of feeling EVERYTHING she and Myron do, hells bells, my tummy was writhing in pain! I have loved every single book by this esteemed author from the first book I read and promptly read her backlist, EVERY book and series is better than the last but there is a special something about Myron and Anya, for me at any rate. So much is shrouded in mystery, stunningly concealed, driving all sorts of theories through my head. Like, what IS Ephegos' aim? What DOES a certain deity really want? Bedsides mayhem....

Oh lordie, Kaira and Herinor are one of a kind awesome! The way they skirt around each other, the way they dance around each other is both comical and endearing. So much mistrust... so much feeling...She, being a half-flame and sister to Anya; he, the worst kind of traitor being compelled by an oath he took. But don't take these words at face value, there is MORE to both of them. I love how convoluted this magnificent author makes her characters, they all have a uniqueness to them, a voice different to the next. Yet she pulls the wool over my eyes, janks the rug from under me with ease, so often coming out of nowhere, I left stunned! Oh my hat! That scene in the temple where Ayla and co confront Shealak, nearly blew me out of the water like a monster geyser! I hooted so loudly I'm sure I could be heard for hundreds of miles! One bombshell after another, more explosive than a nuclear bomb had me reeling in shock, in delight and in utter glee at the outcome!

Characters? Oh you have no idea how spectacular they are! How Angelina gets me so vested, so in love with her characters, I have to attribute to HER magic, perhaps Angelina is a Fae in disguise? The strength of character of all of them is offset so beautifully with a real vulnerability, magnificent! The entire read is magnificent! I can't wait to see what Anya does next and what Erina and Ephegos concoct next! Evil...evil...evil are these 2! There's definitely something special about all the characters, and combining those from previous series, who've been an important part of this series, sheesh fantabulous! Recienne (my heart still pounds for him!) Sanja, Tori, Clio....yes, a true multiverse! I absolutely love the genuine friendship of Anya, Kaira and Clio, warming my very bones. But it's Myron and Anya who have held me captive throughout this series, their love, their passion for one another could light up the universe. So yes, I don't think I'll ever be able to let them go, they are two of the most exceptional characters I've read, which is incredible seeing as I adore ALL of Angelina's MC's in all her books! But there's something special about these 2....my heart cried, my heart rejoiced, my heart leapt up and down against my ribcage, my heart is completely theirs! Forever....

Manipulated by the gods, misdirected by the enemy, back to the beginning, ancestry uncovered and love that knows no bounds…

This tale ebbs and flows with the tides, waves that rush to the rocky coast, breaking over those standing on the rocks, sweeping some into the bottomless seas. It made me bleed for those caught up in the turmoil of hatred, envy, greed, the need for revenge and those we lost. It made me weep for those who were forced to become hardened and at times cruel, to save those for whom they cared. While I feared what treachery the gods would devise next to plague Ayna and Myron, it was the love they shared, like rays of the Sun that sometimes broke through the clouds, that warmed me.

Locked in her feathered form Ayna is struggling to hold onto her memories, her humanity, to even remember the love she and Myron shared. Seeing the pain of his frustration and heartache each day is taking its toll on her as well. She has told herself she must leave him for his own good, that she is more hinderance to Myron and the others. She is unable to reach out to Myron to touch him, to warm him. Without her human form, able only to communicate through Kaira, unable to reach her magic she is of little help to others or herself. Stealthily flying from the city is her escape until she becomes disoriented and gets captured by three Flame spies.
After being rescued by Myron, Ayna realizes running isn’t the answer. She and Myron belong to each other. She will find a way to shift back to her human form. Appealing to Shaelak, she learns that it must be her decision to give up her mortal status to become immortal, but `as always, his answers are more riddle than solution. With the knowledge gained from the Flame prisoner there is more worry heaped on them and their allies, as they must soon face a battle with Ephegos’ army heading for Askirea.
And the battle begins. As the battle rages on they learn that it is part of a subterfuge and there is a hidden agenda. Ephegos has entered the city to bargain with Shaelak.
Kaira and Herinor have grown close, while the guilt he holds forces him to try to pass on information to Myron about Ephegos plans, without breaking his promise. Things he overheard but had put aside within his memories. Seen as traitor he must now prove that he will stand by Myron even if it means his own death. However, his memories of the past aren’t the only ones coming to light. With grace and beautiful logic, the story slowly weaves in bits of the bitter beginnings, Ayna’s ancestry, the manipulation of the Vala and her brother Shaelak, and the cruelty of Myron’s father are also told.
There are no punches held here, the frustration, the heartache, regret for past deeds, fear of what will come, the uncertainty of the future which at times feels like it is all at the whim of the gods, death, suspense and some romantic heat. While Ayna and Myron are at the center, others play key roles for much needed knowledge, skills to hold back the enemy, there is also the comfort of love that lends strength to those fighting to bring an end to the villains and their plots. This is an epic series whose author is a master storyteller, giving us intriguing, lush background tales, and characters whose flaws, needs, love, loyalty, and strengths make them step off the pages. The story has so many layers I just wanted to keep pushing to the next page to learn more of the story. Though it left me with a cliffhanger, its strength gave me the impression of going into a battle that I had already won. I highly recommend this series, as well as the storyteller Angelina J. Steffort.

So many twist and turns, I can honestly say that they all caught me off guard. The bargains and betrayals in this series, especially the last one in this book, are crazy; that bargain/deal with Ephegos had me thinking the worst, until Ayna, being the smart little crow Queen that she is, outsmarted everyone and left us on that cliff-hanger of all cliff-hangers (when’s the next book out again?). While I’m on the topic of bargains/deals, isn’t it crazy how they get locked into them?! There’s also a HUGE betrayal in this one that I’m pretty sure no one but the author saw coming, and it will have you as shocked and angry as I was/still am when I think about it.

The way everything is written is outstanding. You really visualize this world coming to life, characters and all, as you read. The way Ayna stuck in crow form came to life as I was reading was incredible; I especially loved how Myron was – ready, willing and doing anything and everything that he could to help Ayna back into her human form (major twist about this, so make sure you read the book to find out what it is!).

Love all the other characters, especially those in the found family. Always nice when a book shows that families can be chosen and found and aren’t always the ones that you are born into. While I’m on characters, can Kaira and Herinor get together already? Lol, but seriously, those two have been dancing around each other for FAR TOO LONG, so it’s nice to see that they get a little closer in this one. The gods in this series are really grating my nerves (in an author knows what they are doing kind of way); always riddling away like no one’s lives are at stake (you know, except their CREATIONS!). Ephegos… I was always told that if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all… but screw that, because I really hope he comes to an end in the next book, and not a nice-ish ending for him either, I want him to be put through the wringer and burn in the fiery depths of Hell for everything that he has/is doing.

Okay, I think that’s everything covered without giving anything away, so I’ll end my review here by, once again, THANKING (really, I mean it, THANK YOU) the author for selecting me to be on her ARG team and for letting me read this ARC. Can’t wait to read REALM OF CROWS, August 31st 2025 and see how it all ends.

Ayna, the Crow Queen, is currently trapped in her crow form, unable to change back to her human form after a bargain made with Sister the goddess who had at one point created a curse that punished all crow fae by not allowing them to fully return to their fae form. The bargain allowed the Crow Queen to save her people, but left her trapped as a crow. And no one seems to know how to return her to her human form. But who is it harder on? Ayna or her beloved mate Myron? Both are tormented, and unfortunately, neither of them can put all their energy and resources into finding an answer as not only are the few remaining Crows in danger, but all of Askerian Fae as well. The King of Tavros is still coming for them with the magic-dampening potion that Ephegos and the Fire Faeries helped to create. And right now, that is the bigger threat.

I read an advance review copy of this book and as I have the previous books in this series, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Ms. Steffort has a way of drawing you into the story that lets you feel for the characters during the rough times and leaves you cheering for them at others. And as heartbreaking as much of this story often was, it does have its happy and joyful moments as well. This is a complex tale with many moving parts, and just when you think that maybe you have it figured out, something happens to show you that there is still so much more going on than you realized. (At least that’s the way it went for me.)

I do not believe that we yet have the full story of what the Brother and Sister Guardians are up to, let alone what the Human King of Tavros and the Crow warrior who turned many of the Crow Faeries against their king are up to. I believe there is more behind their alliance than we have yet learned, and I also believe that there will be more betrayals and victories yet to come for our heroes, And I for one, and very much looking forward to finding out what will happen next, as this was not the last book in this series.

The cliffhanger ending of this book was not as heartbreaking as the one in the previous book, but it does leave quite a bit open as to what will happen next. One thing is for certain, I am very much looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I don’t know if it will be the final one or not, but either way, it should be a very good read as well.

Flight of Fate on 4. osa Wings of Ink romantasia sarjaa ja sen tapahtumat jatkuvat suoraan mihin edellinen osa Claws of Death jäi.

Olin odottanut päästä lukemaan jatkoa sarjalle jonka parissa olen viihtynyt hyvin.

I just absolutely love this whole series and book 4 does not disappoint in any way! As much as I tried to take my time with this one, I just couldn’t put it down! It had action, tension, betrayal, suspense and heartache, just to name a few of the emotions this book makes you feel. I felt wrung out by the end! But what a ride!

I love Angelina’s writing style - it just flows so easily and while the world building and magic systems are quite complex (but so interesting), her writing and story-telling just makes them easy to follow and understand. It’s a beautifully written and immersive world to get lost in.

I absolutely adore the characters in this series and really love the found family element. The added addition of more from Recienne, Sanja, Tori and Clio just makes it even better for me. ( Please read The Quarter Mage series if you haven’t yet!) It always feels like Myron and Ayna can never quite catch a break, but I’m trusting in the process. I love their relationship and dynamics. It feels even more poignant when Ayna is stuck in her crow form in this book. I totally loved Herinor’s story arc throughout this story and that we get to see things from his PoV in some of the chapters. I really enjoyed the dynamics and development between him and Kaira too.

Another cliffhanger ending in this book but thankfully not as heart wrenching as the last one. I honestly don’t think I could have coped with another like that, so thank you Angelina for a very slight reprieve! It looks like we’re heading towards an explosive, action packed finale - and I’m ready for it! I am now waiting very impatiently for the last book in the series but at the same time not wanting it all to come to an end!

This story continues to unfold and create more depth in areas. I really enjoyed to change we saw in Ayna learning about her true heritage and the destiny to claim her power.

Myron also had a lot of ups and downs with his mate being separated from him for so long as a bird the loss he feels with his dwindling court. The scene where he got to see his mother through Henrinor’s memories was exceptionally sad and touching at the same time. Knowing he never got to truly know her.

Henrinor’s POV was fantastic! I loved seeing him change and grow so much and continue to fall for Kaira. He continues to be haunted by the past and trying to show he’s a changed male.

What I did not love was that this was yet another book in which so much of the plot revolved around Ayna and Myron being separated. Every book revolves around her being kidnapped, him being captured, her being kidnapped again, her struggling with the loss of the mating bond and rejecting him, her being trapped in her bird form and now she’s been taken again (albeit by her own actions this time at least). We have gotten far more of them being forced into separations than we ever have of them being together. It feels extremely redundant.

They also all seem to suck at thinking any attack through and just plunging into danger with little strategy and then being dumbfounded when it doesn’t work out.

All in all, I did enjoy seeing the progress of the story. I just hope that this next book (and I think the last) will have some good strategy and having Ayna and Myron will finally be together more than a few days and one explosive sex scene.

Flight of Fate, the fourth book in Angelina J. Steffort’s brilliant Wings of Ink series, does not disappoint. It opens with Ayna, the Crow Queen, still stuck in crow form and unable to communicate. Myron, the Crow King, and the few remaining loyal crow warriors are recuperating from battle at the Fae king’s palace. But the respite does not last long as the evil traitor crow Ephegos and the Tavarian king Erina are pushing soldiers into the area to attack. From the opening battle to the stunning betrayals, the action is non-stop from beginning to end.

I really love Ayna and Myron’s love story. Their devotion to each other ties the stories together and provides a heartwarming central theme in the middle of the bloodshed and chaos. There are a lot of new subplots that add to the complexity of the political intrigue, and some fascinating information about Ayna’s heritage comes to light. New alliances are formed and some simmering romantic subplots get some traction in the middle of the mayhem. There is a heartbreaking twist near the end that really amps up the drama and leaves the story on a major cliffhanger.

I am on tenterhooks waiting for the next installment of this addictive series! If you have not started this series, I definitely recommend you give it a try. Angelina J. Steffort spins a wonderful tale!

I read an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I did enjoy this, though it was not quite as good as the last one. I adored the parts where Ayna was a crow because she and Myron were both dancing around one another, feeling sad. ...Until she got captured. Why is everyone so horrific to Ayna?! For no reason! They didn't even know who she was!

It's also becoming super clear to me that I just hate when Ephegos is present. Look, I love a good unhinged antagonist, but this guy? He’s so cartoonishly evil that he could be tying women to train tracks somewhere while twirling his mustache. No complexity, no nuance. Thankfully, his page time was limited.

There’s definitely more battle and preparing for war than I expected, some of it surprisingly dark, but with almost zero emotional fallout for both me AND these characters. The people in these kingdoms barely register as more than chess pieces.. I think it's because there's so much going on that it's kind of hard to focus on them.

That said, I loved a lot of the story here. Some moments really land, and I like Ayna’s strength and determination as she tries to claw her way out of the situations she's placed in.

Overall? This had its moments, but uneven character work and emotional hollowness held it back for me.

Thanks so much to the author for the complimentary copy. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

I love this series. Each book is as good- if not better- than the previous one. This is book 4 and book 5 is coming in August. You do need to read all the books from the beginning to follow the story. Heartache, betrayal, political intrigue, epic battles, suspense and unyielding love - it’s all here.

In this story, Ayna is trapped in her crow form and unable to shift back to her human form due to a pact she makes. Myron, her mate and the Crow King, is trying to find a way to break the pact.
Unable to communicate with Myron, she looks to Shealak , Guardian of Darkness, for answers, which he delivers in riddles. The answer has to do with her ancestry and choices she must make. She must become immortal and accept all that comes with it to shift back.

Myron and Anya can never catch a break but they are madly in love and devoted to each other.
“He’s approaching his doom holding on to me. I’m glad I can’t speak those words out loud because if I heard them- if anyone heard them-I’d break apart.”

So emotional- I cried - a lot.

At the same time, King Erina, who was promised Ayna as his bride, and his general, Ephegos, a traitor crow who is looking for revenge against Myron, plan to attack Myron and his Allies. They want to contol the Realms.

Thrilling and page turning - this book will not disappoint.

And it does end with a cliff hanger!

Anya and Myron have come so far from their initial relationship in the first book and I loved seeing the evolution to a glorious romance.

The author also brilliantly showcases Anya’s epic journey of healing and growth. She proves that she is formidable in her own right. After uncovering more about her heritage, her life is once again irrevocably changed. Will she embrace her destiny at last?

This penultimate installment is laden with angst, sacrifice, and heartaching romantic storylines. There’s no shortage of surprises and emotional distress. If you’re looking for a unique, high-stakes BATB retelling filled with shifters, magic, and meddling gods, look no further!

Huge thanks the author for the opportunity to read and review this advanced reader copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Flight of Fate, the fourth installment in Angelina Steffort’s Wings of Ink series, delivers another emotionally charged chapter in this beautifully intricate saga. After the events that shattered our characters in previous books, this one dives headfirst into more twists and betrayal—and does so with real depth.

I’ll admit, I was worried we’d end up in the same place we lingered through most of Book 2 (you know the one), but thankfully, Steffort ends on a cliffhanger that steers us away from there. There’s forward movement here, which is good because they have a war to win.

As always, the relationships are the heart of the story. Watching our beloved characters try to navigate pain, trust, and fractured loyalties is both frustrating and deeply satisfying. Steffort doesn’t offer easy answers, and that’s part of what makes the emotional beats land so well.

If I had one quibble, it’s that the pacing occasionally wavers—some scenes stretch a bit long while others I wished had more room to breathe. But overall, this is a strong, emotionally resonant continuation of the series that left me eager (and slightly anxious) for what’s next.

Highly recommend for readers already invested in the Wings of Ink journey. Just be ready for some emotional turbulence.

Anya is still a crow with Myron, Kiara, Herinor, and the rest of the gang. Myron keeps trying to make a deal with the Guardian of Darkness creator of crows to return Anya to human form. Kiara is able to communicate with Anya through their mind connection. The Guardian of Darkness tells Ayna she has to become immortal and accept all that comes with that to transform back to human form. Ephegos has also made a pact with the Guardian of Darkness that if he kills Myron, he can have Anya for eternity. Anya and the gang travel to the rebel’s cabin to beg for help in their war against Ephegos and all goes to hell. Anya and the gang find out that a trusted friend was really a spy for Ephegos and that is how he knew their plans to visit the rebels. Ephegos using the magic killing potion takes Anya again without hurting Myron, Anya promised to go with him if he allowed Myron and Kiara to live. Anya also promised not to return to Myron’s court. Now to find out if Anya escaped, and if she got back to Myron but at her court not his. The books in this series just keep getting better.

*May contain spoilers * can’t they just be together!!!

I had a really hard time getting into this book. It is the fourth of the series and I have loved the journey of Myron and Anya. We left off the last book with Anya being stuck in her crow form due to Vala warning her about using both her gifted powers at the same time. Almost half the book is spent on how to fix this problem. Once Myron gets her back they remember they’re still fighting a war and they try to figure out how to still win. We are introduced to characters for one of her other series, that I loved, with hopes they will join their cause. When sh!t hits the fan in an attempt to bring the rebels to help as well they’re stuck in a fight they can’t win. With the magic of a bargain Anya sacrifices herself to leave with the POS crow traitor and once again they are not able to be together. All I want is for them to find their way back to each other and live happily ever after on their crow island and have lots of crow babies!!!

So grateful to Angelina J Steffort for the opportunity to ARC read this 4th book in one of my favorite series!

Ayna and Myron have been reunited, but Ayna is caught under Vala’s curse, trapped in her crow form for daring to use powers from both Vala and Shaelak at the same time.

However there are even more secrets to be revealed, and Shaelak is even more involved in the circumstances surrounding Anya’s presence in the crow court than anyone ever knew, and he’s living up to his reputation as a god of chaos and mayhem. He also pushes Ayna to acknowledge her true heritage, enabling her to break free of Vala’s curse.

Herinor is still bound by his oath to Ephegos, though continues to find ways to work around it. And, with his growing feelings toward Kaira, he’s desperate to find a way to break free of that oath without losing his life.

A supposed ally becomes a traitor, new alliances are forged, and the last chapter had me cheering at how Ayna is truly stepping into her role as the Crow Queen and how determined she is to save not only the Crow Kingdom, but also Tavras from Ephegos and Erina’s machinations.

I am so eager for the final book in this amazing series!

Book four in the series doesn't ease you in—it throws you straight back into the chaos. At the end of the last book, my big questions were: Can Ayna break the curse and return to her human form? And if she does… is Myron still her fate, or just another part of her past? Some answers are given. Others? You’ll have to bleed for them in the final book. And honestly? I’m was ready.

Ayna is still stuck in her crow form, unable to shift back, and it’s tearing her apart. She pushes Myron away, convinced it’s for his own good, but even in silence and feathers, she can’t stop protecting him—from others, and from himself.

This book hurts—and it doesn’t apologize for it. The emotional wreckage between the characters is raw and relentless. And it’s not just Ayna and Myron who are suffering. Betrayal strikes deep from someone they trusted, and by the time the final chapter hits, your hatred for Ephegos will burn hotter than ever. If you disliked him before, buckle up.

But it’s not all despair. There’s redemption too—unexpected, hard-won, and absolutely necessary. Amidst the war and heartbreak, there are flickers of hope, moments that remind you why this world is worth saving. And then there’s the ancestry bombshell—one revelation that flips the whole narrative on its head and sends the story hurtling toward the finale.

Like the previous books, this one ends with a cliffhanger that’ll leave you screaming for the final book in the series.

Flight of Fate is book four in the Wings of Ink series. We continue with Anya's story as she continues to be punished by the Gods. She thought she had to be strong before but nothing is going to prepare her for how strong she needs to be for what lays ahead.

If you liked of Blood and Ash and the ACOTAR series, then you're definitely going to love this series. The author writes so well that you really begin to be invested in the lives of these characters. Her writing makes you love a character one minute and hate them the next. But the magic is how well she writes that it takes you to loving someone that you totally despised in previous books. You just need to be prepared for the emotional up-and-down that you'll go through when reading this.

The character development and the world building not only in this book, but in the series, is absolutely phenomenal. This is definitely a must read and it should definitely be on your TBR list.

Book four picks up with Ayna trapped in her crow form feeling almost as if she's on the outside looking in. With Myron and the rest of their found family, they work hard to bounce back after a hard fought battle. They work to figure out how to bring Ayna back to her human form and find peace in what's left of their mate bond. Everyone must pull together to find a way to defeat Ephegos and King Erina as they work against them alongside the Flames. They discover some of Herinor's buried memories that prove both helpful and detrimental to the group. Along the way more secrets of the past come to light that changes perspectives towards the gods playing games with their fates.

Betrayal, battles, loss, danger, love, and family. This story is full of ups and downs as the characters we've grown to love fight for what's right and fight for their freedom and futures. Get ready for another cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more and looking forward to the next installment.

The story arc of Anya and Myron just continues to get more and more complex. Just when you think they have solved the last mystery and righted the last wrong in order to get their happily ever after, ONE more thing pops up in their way. This story picks right back up where the last one ended and continues to try solving Anyas most recent predicament in the Crow world.

In this installment, we get to not only see how far the two of them would go for each other, but we get to see other characters relationships grow as well (which I was very excited to see)! Though this whole series continues to shatter my heart, put it back together, just to shatter it again… the ending of this book just leaves you and shocked and wondering where you are supposed to go next, do you even return to normal life?

Go pick up this series, especially make it to this book if you want the following tropes: fated mates, shapeshifting, fae war, romantasy, magic, traitors, betrayal, mind linking

Book 4 in the Wings of Ink series

I'm constantly blown away by Angelina Steffort's ability to write a book so beautifully that I'm completely immersed in the storyline and the characters. I hurt when they hurt. I smile when they smile. I cry when they cry. Literally all the emotions while I read every single word.

A highly emotional, breath-holding, anxiety-inducing, on the edge of your seat, action-packed, true enemies to lovers fantasy romance packed with sacrifices, impossible choices, and sheer determination. I'm ready for book 5 and the conclusion to this series because once again the cliffhanger ending quite literally left me in shock.

Ayna and Myron, along with all their allies, are confronted with obstacles, twists, and completely impossible choices all throughout. Yet, they remain strong in their hope.

"-hope for freedom. Hope for a better world."

Book 4 of the Wings of Ink series following Anya and Myron as they try to uncover a way for Anya to regain her human form. Her sister Kaira finds a way to assist Anya to communicate with everyone so they can join Recienne’s court to strategise for battle. The god of darkness finally answers a call to provide clues for Anya. Whilst Kaira and Herinor’s feelings for each other grow. It was great to see more characters from the Hour Mage series in this book as the worlds overlap.

There is betrayal, sacrifice, love and friendship in this book. The writing ensnares you to the end in anticipation of what will happen to these characters. This authors books came be quite an emotional roller coaster.

Highly recommend for fans of fae, magic, resilience and action.

Received an ARC copy of this book and am providing a review voluntarily.
