4.5 twisted stars
I'm probably not alone when I say that I pretty much ignored every other character who wasn't Caleb and Livvie in the Dark Duet series. So working in my favor is the fact that I made this little novella behave and wait it's turn, while the spell that Caleb casted on me dim. Don't get me wrong, Caleb is still one of my all time book boy friends BUT as time passed his hold isn't as strong allowing me to open my eyes to those I have missed.
For me this book brought back memories; sad ones that I am glad I didn't have to fully relive, ones that made me mad all over again and others that instilled the same hope I felt the first time I read it. And now I get to add new memories, ones made of carnal pleasure and twisted love. Because in their own fucked up way, that is what Felipe and Celia showed Kid, that even in the darkest times, with trust and obedience there is love.

The one who ultimately made the story for me was Felipe, he is such a refined villain; powerful, confident and fair. Totally fell for his tortured past with Celia and his vow to right the wrongs he has made while giving her the power to control their future. Kid was the perfect fit in their odd love affair, taken against his own will, he is found corruptibly innocent and pure. Through him they have a second chance at the beginning they should have had, it's up to him to give them the chance.
Determined to Obey is such an erotic twisted treat, making me wish it was not a novella but an actual full length novel. The author has a way of pushing all your inhibitions and beliefs of right and wrongs aside, and allowing you to live in her world, making sense of their actions and their thoughts; accepting their reality. There is so much more to their story and I am truly begging for it. Awesome read if you haven't done so just yet!

“3.5 awesome threesome stars”
Ok! I had no idea what was I getting into and this was me most of the time!
Yepp!! This story was disturbing, twisted, weird and very VERY DIRTY!!
I’m not an m/m or m/m/f fan and I was VERY much uncomfortable for most the scenes, the sex were sinfully HOT and honestly, I enjoyed the hell out of it!
Celia, Felipe and Kid were first introduced in Seduced in the Dark and this story takes place around the same as Caleb and Livvie’s stay in the mansion. After Nancy and Kid were taken as hostages by Caleb and his men they were brought to mansion owned by Felipe as a favour to Rafiq. We already saw what happened to both of them. Though Felipe was associated with Rafiq he and Celia were always kind and helpful to Caleb and Livvie, so this had me thinking Kid’s fate wouldn’t be as bad as Nancy, which piqued my curiosity to read Determined to Obey.
Felipe and Celia took Kid under their wing not to use Kid as their sex toy but because they were drawn to his innocence and they were desperately in need to love someone. Yes, I do remember he was humiliated and forced to take part in public sex, it was an act to show Caleb and Rafiq that he was being punished for being a part of bike gang who almost raped Livvie but underneath this act those two genuinely cared for him.
Their relationship was messed up but three of them had a mutual affection for one another, Kid who lost his parents and witnessed his last remaining family slaughtered in front of his eyes he has nowhere to go, nobody to look up to. He slowly realises how much Felipe and Celia loves him, treats him as their family he soon gives in, submits to their will and is determined to obey.
Surprisingly I loved this story, C. J Roberts has a way with words that brings her characters alive and make us love them no matter how messed up they are! Honestly first when I met Celia in SITD she grossed me out, she willingly slept around even when she claims to be in love with her master Felipe who on other hand doesn’t try to stop her. But once you know their past, see their love you will definitely change your mind especially towards Felipe. He is my favorite among the three, he was so gentle in his approach towards Kid and their encounter was my favorite. Guess this is the universe sending me a message to start reading m/m romance soon*giggles*
Theirs was the most fucked up relationship I’ve seen and yet it was beautifully written and the ending put a big smile on my face.

OH GOD I feel so dirty right now! But in a good way. A very good way.
Okay c'mon people, let's be honest for a minute here.
EVERY ONE OF US that has read Captive in the Dark wanted to know Celia and Felipe's story.
And Kid was just such an odd plus to the mix that we were all intrigued with how he would fit in, right?
Lemme just say that he fit in PERFECTLY.
I'm not exactly a M/M/F fan but weirdly nothing sexual in this book made me uncomfortable.
I even cried a little at the end, can you believe?
And I realized how much I've missed Caleb and Kitten. I loved seeing a few scenes that I remember perfectly from Book#1 from a different perspective.
I would have given this 5 glowing stars but something bothered me:
The ending was in a way that would allow for a sequel and I'D TOTALLY READ THAT BOOK!
I WANT MORE FELIPE AND KID AND CELIA C.J. Roberts! WRITE IT, WOMAN!

‘Kid raises a brow, soaking in the fact Felipe is wearing a flamingo-pink suit. He’s going to get fucked by an old guy in a pink suit. Fucked by a man with dark, salt-and-pepper hair and a five o’clock shadow that would take Kid a month to grow. Fucked. By a man!’

In Determined to Obey Kid quickly realizes he is now in very dangerous territory; being held as a slave/sex toy to Felipe’s slave Celia. Kid is unable to resist Celia as she uses sex as a tool to have him become more pliable. Though he bends to her will he is truly scared sh*tless of Felipe because the man has no problem expressing his attraction for Kid. And Kid is not happy about that. Felipe also has no issue telling Kid that he will have him…that Kid will want him…that Kid will beg for Felipe to take him.
With his freedom gone and his choices being non existent Kid realizes that there is one way to survive. He must obey. Quickly he learns that the cunning seductress Celia is irresistible, and that Felipe's desires to have him runs deep. In other words HE. IS. FU*KED.
Kid suddenly finds himself determined to obey.
There were some tears along the way. Ok I’m lying there were a TON of tears along the way. Kid was a big old cry baby but at nineteen I get it. He’s just a big kid who was thrust in to some unforeseen circumstances. His fear for Caleb was enough to make me fear him all over again, GAH.
I enjoyed the fact that we get to really see the relationship between Celia and Felipe. I found it interesting that she thought herself and Felipe had a very similar relationship to Caleb and Kitten’s. I also found her interference in to their lives surprising and in her own Celia way sweet.
What I loved: Not only do readers get to know Kid but we also get glimpses in to Celia’s past as Determined to Obey is told from three points of view Kid-Felipe-Celia. I loved it and was actually sad that I did not get Celia’s pov with a certain scene from Seduced in the dark *sad face emoticon* the scene when Caleb comes and…gets her… If you’ve read the book you know which one I am referring to.
Overall, I read this quick novella in one sitting and refused to put it down once I started. What a great addition to the series!

I was really looking forward to reading a story about Kid. Remember him? He was one of the guys from the MC gang that Kitten got caught up with. He was taken to Felipe's house and had to perform with Kitten.
Needless to say, this book wasn't what I was expecting at all. I was thinking it would be after the events at Felipe's house. It actually starts when Kid gets taken and we have to experience every single awful thing that happens to him.
And woah...Kid is pretty emotional and really goes into himself thinking about when he was a kid and his mother. Surprisingly, he had a pretty good childhood and did okay until his parents passed away. Felipe and Celia take him down to a base level and then build him back up until he actual begs for some of the things they do to him.
Kid was a psychological mess! It's like Stockholm Syndrome but way worse. I don't know what you would call it but my heart really went out for him. I was hoping his outcome would be much better than it was.
It was really helpful having all their POVs. It gave you more of an understanding about why things happened the way they did.
And I did love having a tidbit or two about Caleb and Kitten!
It ends well enough? For now.

Wow OK, let me start by saying I was really glad I picked this book up. I didn't think a would like it at first because of the warnings given on the description of the book, but that being said, I was glad the warnings were there because it gave me a chance to make a choice based on what I could read before going in.
After a while my curiously got the better of me an I just had to see what became of Kid.
Also the story is not just told from Kids point of view but also from Felipe and Celia which is another reason I was glad I read this book.

4.5 AVERGONZADAS STARS
Gracias C.J. Roberts por hacerme disfrutar de algo que no está bien disfrutar.
Una de las más retorcidas, depravadas, y fuertes historias que he leído. Y la disfrute mucho.
Es la historia de un joven que es secuestrado y violado. Pero al mismo tiempo es amado, en una rara y cuestionable manera. Celia y Felipe aman a Kid y el a ellos.
Súper difícil de entender, pero tan bien desarrollada la historia que no puedes parar de leer hasta terminarla.
Las escenas eróticas, son súper hot. En algunos momentos me sentía mal por lo que le hacían a Kid, pero él lo terminaba disfrutando y ya no sabía ni como sentirme.

This book was hot fun and short. I really loved the Felipe. He was my favorite. You know how some people's name are a perfect fit for them? Well Kid is the best nickname for him, it suits him well. I still love Caleb and Kittens story but this was fun. I wanted more though. Overall it was great.

SPOILER FREE REVIEW
I feel the need to add this here before I even start my review since there still seems to be people out there who pick up books and not read the warning labels. Then they go on a GR/Amazon rampage because they didn’t know it was *that* type of book. (Even when there are numerous warnings in the first pages and on reviews such as this one.)

With that being said, I was ecstatic when Cj told me she was expanding on Kid’s story! I wanted it yesterday. Alas, it had to yet to be written. While I waited for it, I was constantly tempted to message her every other hour and be all, “Is it ready yet? Huh, huh? Is it, Is it?”
Then one night as I was getting ready for bed, my inbox beeped with a message, and there it was, all shiny and new, batting its eyelashes at me. It was beautiful. *pets*

Anyway, Determined to Obey was awesooooooome! Thank you, Cj for letting me beta read this hot little piece.
As with the Dark Duet, Determined to Obey is not for the faint of heart. It will make you snicker and sweat, and very uncomfortable in your nether regions. I had to put it down several times because, holy shit, I needed to breathe through the heavy blushing and panting. There were even a few times where words failed me and all that came out were squeaks. And lots of “Ohmygod, Cj” while changing into a new set of panties.
Those of you who know me, know that I’m a sucker for the anti-heroes. And no one does anti-heroes quite like Cj Roberts. Yeah, I’m probably biased, but what can I say? My love of her books is what lead to our friendship. But I do know how difficult it is to write a male character that is both ruthless and likable. With Caleb from Dark Duet, and Felipe in this case, Cj makes it look so damn easy, I hate her! (Not really, I just want know what dark gods she worships so I can erect my own temple. I, too, want the writing powers!)
I’ve read many, many, amazing anti-heroes, but hers are the real-deal bad. Not only tortured, but also on the wrong side of the law. Like, I-can’t-even-see-the-line-I’m-so-far-on-the-other-end bad. Now, it certainly wasn’t a perfect book. It had a few details that weren’t working for me. I noted them in my beta notes, and I was happy to see that Cj addressed them in the final version.
In closing I’d like to add that, I devoured this story the way I do a new box of Oreos. And just the same as with the delicious cookies, I still wanted more.

I suppose there must have been a clamor for Kid's story but I never felt a strong connection to him -from Seduced in the Dark- and did not think I needed a story from his, Felipe's and Celia's POV. It felt a bit prosaic and, the erotica, gratuitous.

This companion novella to The Dark Duet series, involves what happened from the time Kid arrived at Felipe's house to the time when Caleb gets his revenge (a little over two months). It is told by three different POV's, Felipe, Celia, and Kid.
I am a little conflicted with this story. I'm glad it was added to to the Platinum Addition to The Dark Duet, and I'm glad I read it because I'm sure we were all a little curious to the events that took place surrounding the trio. However, if I would have bought this on its own, I think I would have been pretty upset. It was a little underwhelming.
I was very excited to learn more about Felipe and Celia. In Seduced in the Dark, Felipe seemed like quite a character. My interest was immediately piqued when Caleb mentions that the man of the house was wearing a white tuxedo. Don't ask me why, I just think he sounded unique. I was hoping to get to know more about the man (and Celia too), but unfortunately I didn't learn too much. I will say that one thing was very interesting to know...and really strange was
The m/m and m/m/f was pretty tame. I'd suggest this being a decent start if you are not into this genre of books. The details were not very explicit, so it might be easier for some. However the part about it being master/slave may give it more "oomph". I will say Felipe was a good owner, especially with his kind and gentle nature to get Kid to open up to him both emotionally and sexually. But, OMG, Felipe and his wording drove me crazy!!! It really shouldn't bother me as much as it did but .
You knew Kids' love and submission was going to be easy when you heard about his past. I really felt bad for the guy, and the life he lived. So in the end I am glad that he got what he's so desperately been needing in his life with Celia and Felipe.
Overall I just lacked a connection to all of the characters. I'm a little disappointed about that, and I wish I could put a finger on something specific. It just wasn't what I expected. I thought the time frame wasn't enough to scratch the surface of not only Celia and Felipe's relationship, but now the addition of Kid, and it really didn't hold any great insight.
It was interesting to read, and of course, very well written. It's possible that I just got a little burnt out by reading every book in this series back-to-back. Sometimes this happens with me, so I can't fault the author on that. Unless you are a huge fan of Kid, I may pass on this one, especially if you think you are going to get more to the story. Otherwise, maybe wait for a price drop in the book.

We all remember Kid right? That little blonde slave boy that is forced to perform at Felipe’s house in Mexico. One of the bikers in that hotel room where Caleb finds his Kitten beaten and nearly raped. So this is Kid’s story. This is the story of what happened when Felipe and Celia take him in and decide to keep him rather than torture him.
Felipe wants to give Celia something, something they can share. Their relationship might be one of Master and slave, but that is just what is on the surface. These two have a story that is told over the course of this story. But Kid was an offering not only for Celia, but for both of them. Felipe isn’t going to take what he wants from Kid though, he wants Kid to ask for it – to beg for it... and boy does he.
Ass play. It was like heaven for me. The holy grail of anal penetration. Panties soaking good times were had by all. I loved watching the slow seduction of Kid. The way that Celia nurtured him and the sometimes heavy hand that Felipe used. But it was also such a special treat to see the different point of view of the events that occurred during Caleb & Kitten’s time there.
In the end this was simply: Fuck hot. Dark. Disturbingly pleasing. CJ Roberts is a literary lunatic. Beyond the pure talent that she holds to write a story, she has this dark quality that just pulls you in. And the twisted part? The part that makes you question your own sanity... the fact that she can give you a story like this (and like the Dark Duet) and you can find the sweetness in it. What a mind fuck for the reader. I still remember the days that I spent staring at the Dark Duet on my Kindle. Wanting to read it, but being scared as fuck to start it. Then the moment when you finish and you’re fucking lost cause you really loved it. And what the hell does that say about you?!

CJ looks like this demure little princess with her cute little tights. Errrrrrrrrr, how can she write filth like this and yet look so innocent. Hold that thought. Hmmmmm Kid is just like that, and Livvie. Innocent but not quite.
The Dark Duet was beyond hot. At times, I really did not want to read it, but felt compelled. I loved all 3 books. The character of Kid and his presence at THAT scene did intrigue me. I am a pre order horder! Anything for my Kitten and my Caleb.
I think I needed a fan to get through this book.

Entrambi vengono portati al palazzo di Felipe Villanueva, anch'esso personaggio che già abbiamo imparato a conoscere dei libri precedenti. Felipe è un boss criminale con una passione per il proibito; nei libri precedenti abbiamo visto come ha aiutato Caleb in diverse occasioni senza mai mostrarsi davvero. Devo ammettere che mi ero fatta tutt'altra idea del libro. Pensavo fosse dedicato a Felipe e alla sua schiava Celia, invece è quasi un triangolo, tipologia di libro che non mi piace. Come tutti i libri dell'autrice ha scene forti, legate ad abusi e atti osceni. Kid verrà costretto ad avere rapporti, più o meno consenzienti con Felipe e Celia. Mi è dispiaciuto non scorgere un sentimento di possessività tra Felipe e Celia, mi spiego meglio: Felipe è un essere a cui piace divertirsi, infliggere dolore, vedere la sua Celia in mano di altri, invece volevo vedere una scintilla tra loro, che fosse oltre il sesso o la loro condizione. Kid, come avevo già detto di Livvie, è un personaggio che non capisco appieno. Come tutti all'inizio è spaventato ma poi... diciamo che quasi lo vuole. Mi sembra un atteggiamento surreale, ma questo è un punto di vista personale. In questa novella si capirà meglio anche il rapporto tra Felipe e Celia, tormentato e quasi straziante. Kid invece è dolce, nonostante i trattamenti subìti, cerca sempre di dire una parola buona se può aiutare Celia. Celia invece, al fianco di Felipe da anni, da essere prigioniera è diventata quasi la sua spalla, sempre presente, sempre pronta a ricevere una carezza. E' un amore malato, che ormai è radicato in lei. Le scene hot ci sono e sono decisamente forti…

This erotic novella tells the story of Kid's life with Celia and Felipe, providing details that were not divulged in 'Seduced In The Dark'. Reading this quick addition to the series gave me a much different perspective of Kid's life as a sex slave than what I'd imagined based upon the few details shared in 'Seduced In The Dark'.
Yes, he was held against his will after being taken hostage by Caleb, but his situation quickly evolved into something entirely different. I was especially transfixed by his relationship with Felipe and the bond that was forged between the two. I was completely engrossed in their interactions. The tenderness and intimacy between the two men was captivating. I wouldn't have thought that I would have been drawn to the M/M elements of the story, but surprisingly, I was.
This book also answered some lingering questions that I had about Celia and Felipe's past and their motives to help Caleb. Celia, in particular, seemed to be personally vested in helping Caleb and Kitten. Reading Celia's story, provided a lot of insight into her nature and the, often confusing, relationship between her and Felipe.
A surprisingly sentimental story, I would recommend this to anyone that is a fan of the Dark Duet series. It is quick and highly enjoyable.
If you have issues with dubious consent, M/F/M or M/M situations, you probably aren't a fan of this series and wouldn't read it anyway, but be forewarned, these are all strong themes in this novella. For those who know what they're getting themselves into, enjoy!

I again was shocked with this feeling , while reading this book how my mind was thinking:
"This shit is wrong, what's happening to this poor kid???"
...i had to peek through my fingers
and i remember how i love Caleb in The dark duet and that it was almost the same with him in the beginning
of his story with Livvie.
It's dark and it's not for everyone to read,

Oh demonios esta mujer sabe escribir algo caliente o qué?
Este relato ha sido por mucho mas transgresor que la trilogía, aquí hay sexo mucho sexo, y si claro que esta muy muy bien escrito, esta autora es una genia, pero Dios no puedo evitar sentir lástima por Kid, a pesar de que me gustó el relato, no puedo evitar pensar y desear que el pobre Kid jamás se hubiera atravesando en el camino de Caleb, y así jamás habría conocido a Celia y Felipe, pero bueh no puedo negar que lo disfrute, es que últimamente tengo una atracción por las lecturas M/M (te culpó Madoreader, Elsa, Yolanda, Oliza, etc... Me han corrompido jajajajaj) pero que diablos, lo disfrute, así lo digo!
Me hizo falta so!o un poquito más de extensión para ver si se resolvía aquello que Celia le tenía negado a Felipe, quedó ese cabo suelto.

4(?) dark-twisted-and-really-disturbing stars
Like really what the hell did I just read, but it was worth it. I was really curious about the dinamic between Celia/Felipe, how their relationship worked and also how they treated Kid. We finally get to know the past of Celia and Kid they both have really interesting traumas, I mean CJ Roberts loves to play with psychology. The only thing that bothered me was that I wanted to know what happened to them after Seduced in the Dark, but this book ended up when they leave the mansion :(

We finally get to know the past of Celia and Kid they both have really interesting traumas, I mean CJ Roberts loves to play with psychology. The only thing that bothered me was that I wanted to know what happened to them after Seduced in the Dark, but this book ended up when they leave the mansion :(

It was interesting to see the back story on Kid and his relationship between Celia and Felipe. I enjoyed the ending. It was nice to see Kid with Celia and Felipe as he could have ended up in a much worse situation. Still not ideal for him, but I think he resigned himself to it and seemed to be happy.

Hosently I never liked the idea of threesome, whether it is a M/M/F OR F/F/M. To me sex is such an intimate, sacred thing. No matter how meaningless it is. To add another person, male or female, in there would change the principal of sex in my definition.
This book did the total opposite. I didn't feel the morals were destroyed, but recreated in a completely different matter. Therefore I fucking fell in love with this book.

Wish I had re read Captive and Dark again just to re acquaint myself with all the characters again. I can remember about Caleb and Kitten but its all the others I forget about. Otherwise a very enjoyable hot sexy kinky short read.

Well that was…. interesting. Those love scenes? Oh my...
First, I really liked Celia in Seduced in the Dark. I could tell she was a HBIC, but I never knew to what extent. I wanted to know how she and Felipe came to be together since it was hinted that their past wasn’t always the greatest.
My Celia:
I was also very intrigued by Kid in the original story. He was different from how I imagined he would be, but he was still likable. Kid is a lot less resistant to his new circumstances than Livvie was, but given what we learn about him, it makes sense for his character.
It was also my first m/f/m erotica. And man oh man - those love scenes are a lot to process. Haha!
All in all, I liked this story… but I can’t give it 5 stars because it doesn’t measure up to Caleb and Livvie’s novella in my mind. I do, however, know that Determined to Obey is a shorter novella, so I feel a bit unfair comparing the two. I appreciated the closure I got for Felipe, Kid, and Celia and I liked that I got to learn more about their backstories.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm…….. What the fuck did I just read?
This book was just so, hmm what's the word I'm looking for.. It was confusing. The whole mmf relationship was awkward and didn't feel real. Lets start with Kid. He came off extremely weak to me. He was easily manipulated and I honestly feel like I swear my life felt like a lie after I read this book. After reading this book I saw Celia from a different perspective. The whole background story of Celia was a bit disturbing.
I felt bad for Celia but it made me realize something about her and Felipe's relationship. I feel like loving someone and being in love with someone are two different things. I never felt like they truly loved each other. Especially him I know that there was an explanation for that but I just find it hard to believe. I did like the fact that he actually treated Kid much better then I thought it'd be. It could of been worse is all I'm saying.
This book wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I was iffy about this book but I gave it a chance. I expected to at least feel something from this read. Anger, sadness, joy, anything. I felt nothing but confusion. Like this is the same author of The Dark Duet?
The ending gave me false hope. What's going to happen once one of them gets greedy or jealous, or likes one more than the other. Is there going to be a continuation to this? I want one and don't want one at the same time. I CAN'T MAKE UP MY DAMN MIND!!
