Mate Match: Curtis & Jae is book one in the series, Mate Match, by Jax Stuart. This is my very first book by this author. This was previously released in the Knotting Hearts Charity Anthology. It has since been expanded. I love alpha/omega romance and this one was wonderful. I have to admit that toward the end, there were some tears shed, happy ones I assure you, but there was so much emotion. I couldn’t hold them in!

Jae Lee is twenty eight years old. He is an omega, an illustrator and has dreams of releasing his own book. Jae’s family, especially his grandparents, are very traditional. They chose his previous boyfriend for him and it ended badly with the boyfriend cheating. He is now trying the new dating app, Mate Match, which claims to have the highest success rate of them all. The first couple of dates were NOT successful. But they now say they’ve found a 94% match which is rare. Jae not only wants someone to help him through an upcoming heat cycle, but he wants a long term partner, a forever love. Could this finally be it?!

Curtis Taylor is thirty two years old and is an alpha. His friends call him a “soft” alpha. He’s very open minded, and loving. He owns his own home renovations business. He has a lovely home and longs for someone to share it with. His friends pushed him into signing up for Mate Match. He is shocked to be notified to be matched at such a high percentage rate!

Jae’s heat is weeks away. As soon as they first touch, at their first date, though, something happens. The connection is so strong between them that it sends Jae into his heat early. Curtis promises to stay with him and help him through it. But it is obvious to them both that this connection is more than just in the bedroom. Both have hopes that it will continue long after Jae’s heat is over.

These two were so flippin’ adorable. The whole book was!! There was one little glitch in their blossoming new relationship. Something that they thought they were protected against. Would this end any possibility of them staying together or is it just one more thing to bring them closer? I really enjoyed this author’s writing style and will definitely stay with this series if there are more books.

“Having you in my life makes me the happiest man alive.”

Mate Match: Curtis & Jae is the story of Jae an omega and Curtis an alpha. I loved this sweet easy story. Jae and Curtis are both wonderful guys who are perfect for each other. This story had me shedding many happy tears. This low angst story was a great way to spend some reading time. I loved the secondary characters and hope we get more books about some of them. If get the audio narration, Sebastian Schug does a wonderful job of narrating this book. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. He made the story fun to listen to. I can't wait to listen to the next book he does. I would definitely recommend this book.

Jae and Curtis have both joined Mate Match , an online dating agency.
One day they both get notification of a match, and its each other.
Things between them progress really quickly and one their first date Jae goes into heat and Curtis helps him through it, ending in a baby.
No angst, just a lovely story with nice secondary characters.

I'd like a follow up for Brady and see him get his match.

This was my first MM Omegaverse, and I think I found a new favourite version of the omegaverse trope, even if it left me sobbing (happy tears) in places.
brilliantly written and i really enjoyed Curtis and Jae's story

There were a lot of exclamation points in this book. That was my major takeaway. The storyline abd telling instead of showing writing style was kind of boring, so I found myself wondering why non-American authors set their books in the United States without doing any research about our terrible health care system. Ain't no one paying a $70,000 L&D bill for someone else in the US. At the end there I was kind of having a game of tell me where you're from based on the non-American medical things you're talking about. Pethidine and Entonox gave it away. Entonox isn't even legal in the US lol.

I've had the pleasure of reading and now listening to this sweet as pie book by Jax Stuart. Curtis and Jae as a couple were just the cutest freaking thing ever and I was so happy they found each other. Although their start was somewhat unconventional, I mean poor Jae going into heat weeks early on a first date and having to ask a near stranger to take him through it couldn't have been easy on him. Thankfully Curtis is the most caring and doting alpha there is, so he ended up being just the perfect choice for Jae.

I loved how as the story progressed I was more and more convinced these two were perfect for one another. They shared the same values and beliefs. Curtis isn't a stuffy old alpha looking for a house omega and Jae is an omega who enjoys his work and never planned on being a baby maker stuck in the home. Though both are surprised when Jae turns out to be pregnant, it is soon apparent that the two are over the moon to be expectant parents.

This story is very light and fluffy with no angst in sight. Jae and Curtis communicate like adults and are honest with one another from the start. Though their relationship moves at a quicker pace than what would be considered normal, I had no fears that these two would make it work in the long run. Looking forward to Brady, Jae's BFF, getting his HEA in Mate Matched: Xavier & Brady next!

This is both a book and audio review!

Mate Match: Curtis and Jae
Written By Jax Stuart
Narrated by Sebastian Schug

Performance: Calm and soothing is how I would describe Sebastian’s narration. There is not a huge difference in intonation between the characters voices for Curtis and Jae. There is a more pronounced difference between the male and female characters. This doesn’t impact the pleasure of the narration. It’s just a difference in how each narrator performs their story.

Story: I really enjoyed this story! I love Omegaverse and mpreg even when it is not shifter related. It really is nice to read about a man going through pregnancy. Hehe.

Curtis is a small business owner. He owns his own contractor business, works hard, and rarely dates. He is looking more for a permanent relationship rather than a hook up. Jae is a book illustrator and soon to be published author. He is fresh out of a relationship that didn’t work and is looking for that special Alpha that will love him and also support his dreams.

Curtis and Jae are so cute and really deserved their happy ending. I love that the story is based on finding true love using a dating app. Both of the main characters are doubtful at first, so their story opens with them texting each other. To me this is a fast paced story that gets you from meet cute to marriage quickly. I’m a fan of insta-love and happy endings, but I need more than steam and sexiness. Jax Stuart writes this book with enough plot to make the story more than that. There is a bit of legal drama and family drama and a whole lot of acceptance and love. It is a feel good story that is a quick read and a quick listen for days when you just need something happy.

This story was previously apart of the Knotting Hearts anthology but has since been expanded. I didn't have the chance to read this while it was apart of that anthology but I think that was for the better as I got to read a longer story about these two sweet men.

Both Curtis and Jae have had bad luck with relationships and neither of them really want to use the popular dating app. With the help (more like meddling) of their best friends, they end up matching and the rest as they say, is history!

This is such a sweet romance story there is heat throughout, but at its core is sweetness and adorableness. Jae has been treated poorly in his past and all he wants is someone to love, support, and be there for him. Curtis has longed for a family of his own but no one has ever felt right until he meets Jae. I thought the way they took their time getting to know each other was really beautiful, yes there were spicy scenes early on as Jae went into heat, but even after his heat was over they gradually got to know each other over time which I liked a lot.

Curtis is the epitome of a Cinnamon Roll Alpha, he'll go to war for his mate but he's a big softie inside. The way he treats Jae is full of respect and love, and Jae loves and respects him right back. Their relationship is truly so special and I love them together!

The side characters were intriguing and interesting in their own right, my heart broke for Brady and I hope both him and Marty get their own stories at some point. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that!

Jae and Curtis might the two sweetest men in the universe and the story of how they get together is a sweet, low-angst treat.

After a disastrous relationship with the alpha his family picked for him, Jae is ready to find his a mate for himself and signs up for the Mate Match app. He doesn't have much luck at first, but keeps with it until he is matched with Curtis, a caretaker alpha with a lot of love to give. They hit it off immediately on the app and their first date is perfect, until Jae goes into heat early. After spending his heat together, Curtis and Jae are all in and falling in love.

Their relationship story is very low-angst and they fit together like puzzle pieces. Their chemistry is hot and despite working in vastly different fields, they have a lot in common. They align in every way that matters and things progress well until Jae finds out he is pregnant. It's a surprise (especially since they used protection), but they want this baby and continue to grow closer as they await their little one.

There is mild drama outside the relationship that keeps the plot going and interesting. The chemistry between Jae and Curtis often had me smiling. They are really cute together. I also loved the side characters, the MC's best friends, and hope they get their own stories. I'm looking forward to more from this world. This book was ultimately a sweet palate cleanser of a romance perfect for a day of relaxation.

Jae is an omega looking for that special alpha to love. He signs up with Mate Match and is matched with Curtis. Curtis signs up for Mate Match on the encouragement from his friends. He does want someone special, so it didn't take much encouragement. When Jae and Curtis start texting they really get along. They meet for dinner and everything is going swimmingly until Jae goes into heat. Jae asks Curtis to help him through it and Curtis is happy to help. Come Monday morning these two are smitten. They're determined to keep dating. A month later they're still going strong when Jae finds himself pregnant. Since they used protection, they're surprised but not upset. That's not the only surprise that comes out. Jae and Curtis continue to get closer while awaiting their little bundle.

This is a low drama, sweet romance. I was hooked from page one. Jae and Curtis are a perfect match. They're both caretakers that blend well together. Their chemistry is good and the sexy times are hot. 🔥 The friends are very supportive. I especially liked Brady. I felt bad for his situation and hope he gets a book with a big HEA. Curtis's best friend Marty is another great character who I hope gets his own book.

I really enjoyed Mate Match book one, It was such a sweet, steamy omegaverse read with that perfect instalove vibe.

Jae signs up for the Mate Match app hoping to find an alpha to help him through his upcoming heat and someone he can actually build a real relationship with. When he’s matched with Curtis, their connection is instant and intense — so strong it triggers Jae’s heat early. What starts as helping each other through the heat quickly turns into something much deeper, with tons of chemistry, emotional connection, and caring moments.

It’s low-angst, super comforting, and full of that warm, fuzzy feeling while still delivering plenty of heat (Ha, see what i did there) Curtis is such a good, steady alpha, and watching him gently win Jae over was really lovely.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Sebastian Schug and he did a fantastic job. His performance was excellent and made the book feel really immersive.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet, low-drama omegaverse with a meet-cute and a super satisfying HEA, this one is it. It was a perfect read for a sunny afternoon in the garden.

Looking forward to book two.

Jae joins Mate Match hoping to find an alpha for both his upcoming heat and a real partnership, and his instant connection with Curtis surprises them both. Their bond deepens quickly, but an unexpected pregnancy puts their new relationship to the test.

This was a sweet instalove story built around the instant connection between Jae and Curtis after being matched through the app. Their relationship develops quickly — first because of Jae’s heat and then even more rapidly with the unexpected pregnancy — but the emotional moments woven throughout kept it engaging. I liked how their bond was rooted in genuine affection and growing trust, even as everything moved fast around them. The story was easy to read and understand, and their journey from match to something deeper was satisfying. This was an MM story with mature content and set in the omegaverse with MPREG.

** Please note that this story was previously released in the Knotting Hearts Charity Anthology. The story has since been expanded with more than 20k of additional content. **

First the narration, I did not enjoy this. The cadence was so wonky. Long pauses where they didn’t fit. Odd emphasizes where they didn’t make sense. I did get the ebook to compare to make sure it was not written how I was hearing it. It was narrated with inflections that don’t exist in the book. I tried all different speeds even from 1-1.5x, 1.45x seemed to be the most natural for the pauses, but too fast for the rest. The voice was great, I never struggled to know which POV it was. Pronunciation was clear and he easy to understand. There were a couple words that didn’t match the text and one instance, that I noticed, where the wrong pronoun was used which was slightly confusing.
Second, the actual story, I would’ve enjoyed this as an eyeball read. It was sweet, no angst. I like the matching agency idea.
So I’m really not sure where exactly to rate this. Story good, narration lacking.

First in series (Mate Match). Audio. Omegaverse. Mpreg. POC representation. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.

A matchmaking app that pairs a confident omega with a cinnamon roll Alpha. Both Curtis and Jae are looking for something long term when they meet through a dating app, and luckily the app has done an amazing job.

Jae is an omega that wants to continue his illustrating career even if he has a family and Curtis is a supportive Alpha that will give Jae everything he wants. Even an oops baby doesn’t make Curtis and jae hesitate, as they are both smitten and committed to seeing if they can have a lifelong partnership. I appreciated that the relationship was not angsty and their family and friends circled them in only supportive ways. I look forward to more stories from this universe.

The audio narration was entertaining but maybe not as effusive as I prefer. I did have to remember who’s POV the chapter was expressing at times. But overall a sweet story and a nice listen.

I loooved it!! *screams*

That was such a cute, no angst story. If you don't like insta love, you probably won't like this one. I, on the other hand, love insta love, so it was right up my alley. It was a slice of life story, that basically followed the mmcs trough their meeting and pregnancy. I always love it, when an author skips a third break up, which Jax Stuart luckily did for this one.

They had great chemistry and were exactly what the other person needed. Jae helped Curtis getting more comfortable in his own skin and Curtis was Jae's rock that supported him. They are just the cutest!

They both had great families and amazing friends. I loooved how they mashed their families together, it was beautiful to see.

I really hope Brady and Marty get a book, they both deserve their special someone!

Curtis and Jae were so cute and adorable together. They both had some insecurities thanks to past experiences, and their hurdles along the way, but what I loved the most was their support to each other, their communication, and the friends that made their match possible.
It did have some sensitive subjects, but I liked how everything seemed to fall in its place, how amends were made from those that wronged our characters, and how fighting for a good cause created unexpected developments and connections.
I liked the story and the way the narrator brought to life the events, but there were some instances where the voices were very alike and was difficult to distinguish the characters.
I really am looking forward to the next adventure as there’s a certain character that I hope to see in the future.

story of Jae and Curtis

This is a fated mates omegaverse romance, featuring Jae and Curtis, and is book one in the Mate March series.

Jae turns to the Mate Match app to find an alpha for his upcoming heat and is stunned by the instant chemistry he shares with Curtis, who steps in to help and quickly becomes more than just a match.

This is a sweet story with loads of emotional connection. Jae and Curtis have instant chemistry, and their relationship feels both tender and intense. The surprise pregnancy adds a little drama, but their bond makes you root for them all the way.

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 1 in series
MM omegaverse romance
Dating app
Fated mates
Texting & dates
Caretaker MC
Early heat
Spicy times
Surprise pregnancy
Found family
HEA

Honestly this one is a case of not for me and I think it might be where this was originally short, then expanded upon. It feels very rushed and telling not showing in lots of areas, the pacing wasn't working for me.

Their initial meeting was cute and the instant connection, along with their various friendships. Yet the story never fully grabbed me, every time I though it might there was suddenly these random facts/thoughts on how omegaverse works thrown in between them having conversation.

It just pulled me out of the story, this may be a great introduction type read for those new to omegaverse tales. Simply wasn't working for me...

Fluffy Mpreg story

This was a lovely fluffy little Mpreg story with a surprise unexpected baby thing. It was enjoyable, and the story floats smoothly. Very very little angst..
Pleasant side characters with a couple who seem to be set up additional books in the match mate series.
I like mm moreg genre books , and I’ve always pleased when I find a new author or book.

No conflict, just a short story of cuteness. Very sweet pairing. The audio narrator has a nice voice but read it so very stilted. No inflection or excitement. It had pauses in the middle of sentences on the regular, slow speaking, and almost robotic? It could be brought to life with a narrator who showed emotion. It was multiple POV yet both had the exact same voice from the narrator.

I loved this up until the drug company storyline. After that, it felt blah and boring. It seemed like the storyline was less about the characters and more about that point. The baby storyline felt like an afterthought and was not well written.

Curtis and jae sign up for the dating app both from unsuccessful previous relationships. I enjoyed the concept of alpjas and omegas in which the omegas can be pregnant irrespective of gender. Their relationship still has its troubles but both are wanting to make it work.

This was so forgettable. I couldn't pay attention because the Narrator has a voice that never changes like that of an Ketamin addict. It's just one tone the whole book over. I even tried to speed it up and 1.2x was better, but that just wasn't a solution.

A cute short read that was a little rushed with the last chapters with the cause that one of the MC's fought for but it was just what I needed.
