There can only be ONE. ONE man with two loyal friends and secrets from the past that will ultimately shake up the entire hood. ONE man on a mission to destroy anyone who doesn’t play by the rules, including tricky bitches that are willing to drop to their knees behind closed doors, yet stand tall against him when the time comes to collect the almighty dollar. ONE man with enough swagga in his walk, confidence in his talk, and the skills and mindset to, one day, build an empire. ONE man, only ONE, bold enough to deliver multiple orgasms, yet never tell a soul his real name. He has overpowering strength. A top-notch reputation. Power like no other. A bite that will hurt more than a dog. The streets of Chicago knows him as the ONE and only…Mr. Bones.
I was in between reads when this book was recommended. The author’s name, Silk Smooth was not familiar to me but I pulled out the Kindle and hoped for an entertaining, interesting read.
“Me and Mr. Bones,” transport readers into the lives of three best friends, Theo, the nerd, Nate, the hot head and Bones, the quiet and calculated one. The three have been friends since grade school and come from the usual similar backgrounds that lead to a life looking for a come-up in the streets.
The story concentrates on the lives and the relationship between the three main characters. From outside looking in Theo, Nate and Bones appear to have each other’s back, but one never really knows what’s going on in another’s mind or heart. Jealousy is an emotion not to be taken lightly. Hatred, if not dealt with can live within where it festers and consumes the soul. And love… well we all know what love can do.
Prepare yourselves for an interesting read, where entertaining events pump adrenaline into the storyline, setting the stage for a jaw dropping ending.
The plot was good and moved along in a timely manner. Descriptive background and personality information on Bones, helped me understand the character and I grew to like him. Initially I felt Bones was in control and despite setbacks he was still driven. But as with most, what’s done in the dark eventually comes to light sometimes leaving innocent casualties. I thought I had Nate pegged from the beginning as the classic bad boy, but after that shocking act, all sorts of questions was going around in my head and none were answered by the end of the story. I’ll be looking for the answers in book two. I didn’t really feel a connection to Theo’s character, more could have been shared about him that would have given a little more insight. A few minor errors were present but nothing distracting.
A solid 4.0 star recommended read. I will be reading book two to see where the author takes the story.

Mr. Bones....Hassan truly deserved that name! This was a book that I enjoyed reading so much, I finished in a few hours. Well written with a great storyline that definitely held my attention! I thought Bones was treacherous with his tactics. Red was another character & in a class by herself. I must admit she did give Bones a run in trying to have a relationship. I felt Nate was an abusive punk who deserved a more gruesome end. After the background of Alexis was revealed, I better understood Nate's anger although I still don't condone his actions. This was a great book by Silk Smooth & I look forward to reading more of his work.
I'm still trying to figure out who their referring to as ME with the title of Me and Mr Jones. It took me a few chapters to get into this book, but overall it's a good read.
