★★★★ ½! Curtains, part 4 of 4. The conclusion to oh so swoon-worthy, semi-retired Dom Rhys Volz & Vi ‘s saga!

Curtains is about acceptance, letting go to embrace the future. It was bumpy at times due to Vi’s stubbornness and I sided with Rhys on every single task. That man is a catch and one of the best heroes ever! Story left them at a well-deserved and perfect ending!
Swoon-worthy and commanding hero, Rhys Volz! Off-the-charts sex scenes! Brilliant story-telling! Interesting and engaging plot! 5-star serial! One of the best reads this year!

The fourth, and final, serial in this series, 'Curtains' ties up all the loose ends and delivers the HEA I craved. Like earlier books in this series, 'Curtains' had plenty of drama and angst. However, this time around, Rhys and Vi finally figure things out together.
Despite the antics of Sandra, Rhys and Vi persevere. This book was all about them learning to trust one another and move forward together. Time and time again, they had proved to be their own worst enemy. It wasn't until they decided to trust in each other that they could move forward.
As they faced their fears and insecurities, they were able to commit to one another without anything holding them back. I was glad to see them find their happy place, because I'm not sure I would've made it through another round of "on-again, off-again" drama with these two. Ms. Chase ended it on a good note, before it got to be too much.
All in all, I found this to be a nice and highly enjoyable series. Vi and Rhys were great characters with excellent chemistry. Each serial was entertaining and kept me wanting more, up until the end.

Emotional, sensual and captivating. The final installment of Sexual Awakenings did not disappoint!
Rhys and Violet’s journey has not been an easy one. Things start out a little rocky for them at the beginning of this story.
Rhys wants Violet. All of her. Flaws, baggage, he wants it all. He has never felt this way about anyone in his entire life. I just love this man. Rhys is sexy, he can be sweet, he’s possessive and domineering. The only thing he asks for is all of Violet. He doesn’t want just pieces- he wants everything.
Violet is one of those heroines you can’t help but love. You can’t help but root for. I just wanted to cheer for her while reading. The way she stood up for herself and her relationship made me proud. I really adore these two together and the way Bryce comes into the picture. That little tuxedo was the most adorable thing ever!
This has been one of my favorite serial novella series to date. I love how every book has worked for me. There hasn’t been one weak link. The writing is fantastic, the characters are great and the story line is strong. And I can’t forget to mention the crazy hot sex scenes! If you haven’t read these books, you’re really missing out!

The only thing standing in our way now was... us.Some rather large bombs have been dropped in the last few novellas and now Violet and Rhys are left with the aftermath. Violet has been burned too many times and she needs some space to figure how how to handle things with Rhys. She knows she loves him. She loves Bryce. She sees forever with them. But it’s hard. Her mom gives her some sound advice...

FINALLY, I've read a novella series that kept me entertained and satisfied to the very end!! I've lost count on the series I've read in the past that start out amazing and then end up being a huge disappointment by the last book. The Sexual Awakenings series, I am happy to report, is not one of those.
The previous book dropped a couple of bombshells on our main characters, which has caused some unnecessary tension in their new relationship. Violet's inability to let go of the past, is making Rhys question her feelings for him. She has her head so far up her butt, she doesn't even see that she is on the verge of losing the one great love of her life.
Luckily for us, she will get some sense knocked into her and will try to fix things between her and Rhys.
The person I thought would be a threat to Rhys and Violet, hardly makes an appearance in this last book. That part of the story just seemed to quietly resolve itself. We just needed Rhys and Violet to get their act together so that I could have my much needed HEA by the end of the story.
"Words can get lost, become meaningless and fall away. And promises have a way of getting broken. I want more for you. I want so much more for you. But believe me, right here, right now, when I say that I can't imagine a day will ever come when I won't feel this way. And there will never be a day, good or bad, when you won't feel it from me."
Oh there are yet again some very HOT, panty melting inducing scenes in this book as well!! I am definitely a little smitten with Rhys right now. He's got all the traits you could ever want in a book boyfriend. This Dom has something extra that makes your heart melt for him. The epilogue was just amazing and OH SO HOT! YES HOT! Sorry, no other way to describe it.
If you're looking for a short series that is steamy, will keep you entertained, and has an outrageously sexy book boyfriend in it, then you should definitely give this one a try.

5 Perfecting Ending Stars
I have been 100% invested in this series from the very first installment. My heart broke for this woman who felt unworthy because the man she married didn’t want her anymore. Then we met this sexy as hell man, with his dominating ways and dirty talk so of course I was sold. We have seen this couple have their ups and downs, but I felt like things came together perfectly in this final installment.
This story begins with a flashback from Rhys and I loved this little bit, I won’t spoil it for anyone, but when I read this I had the biggest grin on my face. It just made things come together for me.
After that little bit of joy we are shown what happened after the discovery in The Last Dance, and let me tell you the surprises kept coming. Honestly, some of this just killed me for Vi - the blows just kept coming for her, so her reaction is completely justified in my opinion. Then we have my boy Rhys who I absolutely adore, and he needs answers, he needs to know if they can move on.
"I can’t keep wondering if the woman I’m with is with me! I can’t keep dreaming of a future with a woman who can’t let go of her past.”
I didn’t feel like there was any overreactions or drama for the sake of drama, everything played out perfectly to me. I loved the supporting characters and the tough love they provided. I felt like it was very necessary, because Vi needed to know she could move on and have faith in her relationship with Rhys after being broken.
This wouldn’t be Sexual Awakenings without the hot sex we have come to expect from Rhys and Vi. I was happy to see that they could still have passion without the secrets and mystery, that their connection was real.
In my opinion, the most important thing to come from this story is for Violet to finally find her peace. She was in a horrible relationship and the way she was treated can do permanent damage to a person's self-esteem. That is why I absolutely loved the ending to this one. The final scene we see Sandra was perfection to me, because it showed that Violet had complete faith in her relationship.
This is definitely one of my favorite serials and I highly recommend it. Is there hot sex, of course, but there is also a love story with heart and depth.

I feel like this is the part I’ve been waiting for since reading the opening chapter of Volume one… I finally felt development giving me a greater connection to the characters and the story.
Violet takes a chance in life by stepping out of her sexual comfort zone and in this, the final part, we discover if it paid off and whether or not she finds her silver lining?
The hero and heroine maintain their visceral chemistry but I now also began to feel more emotion in the story.
The dual POV is an aspect I’ve enjoyed throughout the whole series and even more so in this final part, especially that of Rhys. I felt his sincerity and depth of emotion in ways that I hadn’t done previously.
Everything comes together beautifully in this part and, because the hero and heroine gave me a little more than just beautiful sex, I felt more depth to their personas. I found I was invested in them as characters... I wanted their happy ever after and retribution for the people who needed it.
Part four is my favourite of the series.

Curtains is the fourth and final novella in the Sexual Awakenings Series. Each book has been engaging and the main characters have transformed significantly from the first book. We have seen Violet overcome her failed marriage and become a sexually charged creature that is not afraid to live life to the fullest. We have been with Rhys as he came to the realization that he is a Dom but he is also worthy of love.
After the Last Dance, the central conflict in the series has now reared it's ugly head. The characters are reeling and the future is suddenly unknown. Violet runs away in order to lick her wounds and try to give herself space from Rhys. The problem is Rhys has already consumed every piece of her heart and she really can't run away from him. Can Rhys and Vi finally find a way to make their dance work?
RHYS: Talk to me, Violet.
VIOLET: And exactly whom would I be talking to today?
RHYS: You don’t want me to give up any more than I’m willing to.
VIOLET: Maybe you should ignore that fact. I can’t trust you, Rhys.

The Sexual Awakenings Series is simply fantastic! It is erotica writing at its best. What I find to be most appealing about this series is the manner in which Ms. Chase adds depth to her characters while keeping the sexy scenes "very sexy". In other words, this series is more than just the sex! There is complex character development, intense conflict, and "true to life moments" that will break you and heal you at the same time. The text is fluid and the tempo of the books are steady throughout. I have always been intrigued by BDSM Dom/Sub relationships and this series is BDSM writing at it's best. I never once felt uncomfortable or nervous for Violet. I only felt passion and love for both of the main characters. The dual POV seamlessly switches back and forth allowing the reader the freedom to experience the depth of feelings each character lives through. I should mention there was a little bit of "extra drama" in this installment. However, it was a reasonable timeline for Violet to realize what the rest of us have known from the beginning! Rhys and Violet are practically perfect for each other!
Overall, I cannot rave enough about this series. If you enjoy a well written contemporary erotica romance, then Sexual Awakenings is the series for you. If you love a strong male character and a female lead working towards a transformation, then this series is for you. This was my first Angelica Chase series and I assure you it will not be my last. Although the dance may be over, this reader is already hoping for an encore! Bravo Ms. Chase! Bravo!

If you are looking for Hot, Fast, and Fabulous...look no further. Angelica Chase's Sexual Awakening Series is erotic perfection!
Her story of the dominant Rhys and the brave Violet has been nothing short of pure genius. This is a cleverly woven tale of sexual tension, angst, and pure passion.
With each installment, the story has progressed with keys to the past dropping and locks to the future falling open. As Rhys and Violet explored intimacy and found their sexual connection to be more than just "sex," emotion came thru.
But so many lies...or just omissions? Protecting the ones you love or yourself? The bomb dropped at the end of book 3 upped the angst tenfold! How can Rhys and Violet ever move past the truth? Perhaps time? How can you stay away from the one thing you NEED to breath?
Kudos Angelica Chase for the amazing development of Rhys and Violet in just short timeframes. Flashbacks of the past solved the mystery behind Rhys and the harsh reality of Violet's failed marriage created a phenomenally strong woman! Nothing better than seeing a woman know what she wants and fighting to keep it! Rhys's past WOULD NOT touch the present that they were creating!

5 BRAVA stars
Violet is beyond pissed, with everyone and everything, you'd think she'd been through enough but this just adds insult to injury. Completely blindsided and having a hard time coming to terms with it all and what it all means.
Rhys finds himself stuck, wanting to make things right even though he too was caught off guard, wanting to take her anger and pain but not knowing what to do with it. It's bigger than just the two of them and the faster they realize that the faster they can move on with or without each other...
Curtains is the fourth and final book in the Sexual Awakenings serial, and what a finale it was. The beginning just threw me for an even bigger loop, trying to understand and figure out what happened. Who woulda ever thought that, that was going to happen...not me that's for sure, so color me surprised when we took a little trip down memory lane. By the way thanks to the author for dragging out the details of "that night", it just made me want it more. Told from both Rhys and Violet's POV, it was easy to see where they were both coming from, not really being able to take sides.
Let me start with Violet, could I blame Violet for not pulling her head out of her ass fast enough, no, because I most likely would have reacted the same exact way. It's a lot to process and while it is a book, it's not like in one paragraph the whole world goes back to sunshine and rainbows. She needed to come to terms with it all on her own, even though she had some amazing people to help get her there. Plus I have mad respect for this female, the way she stood up and put the bitch in place was priceless, not only did she do it once, but every single time she tried to rain on her parade. It was classy and effective, totally fitting and absolutely worth the five stars in my opinion.
Rhys, my dear sweet-dominant-sexy-controlling Rhys, what am I going to do with you, just when I think I can't love you more, you have to go and up your game and make it even harder to end the book. Suffice to say I was pretty bummed when I came to the end, bitter-sweet really, I wanted more time with them as selfish as it was. However I was slightly appeased with the Epilogue, it managed to rid me of my pout and put a smile on my face.
I will definitely be reading more of Angelica Chase's books.

The beginning just threw me for an even bigger loop, trying to understand and figure out what happened. Who woulda ever thought that, that was going to happen...not me that's for sure, so color me surprised when we took a little trip down memory lane. By the way thanks to the author for dragging out the details of "that night", it just made me want it more. Told from both Rhys and Violet's POV, it was easy to see where they were both coming from, not really being able to take sides.

"Curtains” is the fourth and last installment in “Sexual Awakenings” series by Angelica Chase.
When Violet finds out that her past and Rhys’s past are connected she doesn’t know what to think, what to do and what to feel. She is angry. She hates her past and she also hates Rhys’s past. She finds out her marriage with her ex wasn’t actually a real marriage. She can't believe it! She feels used and wants to be cautious, trying to push away the man she loves.
“Our relationship was so simple, yet our lives had made it seem so damn impossible. The only thing standing in our way now was...us.”
Rhys loves Violet with all his heart. He's selfish, he wants all of her. Rhys tried to protect Violet and now he tries to make Violet understand that he can’t change the past. But what if Violet doesn’t want him anymore?
This installment is my favorite in the series maybe because the plot here is more engaging. I loved both Rhys and Violet. If in the first installment Violet was scarred, afraid and insecure, now she is strong in the end fighting for what she wants. They both felt real to me and relatable. I loved Rhys’s possessiveness and jealousy in this installment. He is a Dom, but he also is an attentive and caring man. He wants to be with the woman he loves and he is willing to do anything to be with her. The sex scenes are melting hot and Rhys and Violet’s relationship progressed naturally without unnecessary drama. So, I really liked this aspect.
Overall a great installment and a great series!

I love so many things about Angelica Chase’s writing! Her heroes are so alpha and imperfect but they are willing to recognize their mistakes. Her heroines are strong and intelligent without being ashamed of their sexual preferences. I also find humor in her characters! Angelica always delivers a substantive erotica plot with unexpected twists that keep me intrigued. In the four-part novella series, Sexual Awakenings, Angelica does it again!!
In this final novella, Rhys and Violet come full circle in such a loving and sexy way. They’ve learned to trust each other and to embrace their future rather than live in fear of their past mistakes.
The Rhys is so protective of his family and he has every right to be that way. Violet never doubts his love and adoration but she must release her insecurities so she can truly feel whole again.
This series ends beautifully and lyrically. From the beginning, I adored Rhys, and just like Violet, my feelings for Rhys deepened beyond just lust. Violet’s transformation throughout the series was encouraging and I rooted for her the entire way! I would love to have cocktails with Violet and her mother!
If you haven’t read any books by Angelica Chase, I suggest you do so! You won’t be disappointed.

The dramatic conclusion to Sexual Awakenings. Both Rhys and Violet struggle with secrets, purposeful omissions...is it lying when it's done for all the right reasons? When your partner struggles with trust issues to begin with?
I have to admit the drama in this installment got on my nerves a bit. It was a revelation to yet another secret Rhys held but I really didn't find it worth the weight it held through the book. Both H/h, while I've stated their maturity thru the series, annoyed me in their childish behavior of ignoring one another for days on end versus communicating. Then within a heartbeat of being within breathing space of each other, they're f$cking like bunnies. I really wished they'd worked it out as adults first but this is erotica...
(But I still found them childish in their behaviors.)
I really enjoyed this series! Each book reads quickly and delivers a great dose of steam as well as endearing characters. Looking forward to more from Ms. Chase.

Boom. That is the sound you hear when you start to see all the pieces fall into place. We start off part four with a flash into Rhys’ past then are jolted into the present as Violet’s worlds collide. Secrets, everyone has them; but the people in Violet’s life seem to have them in spades.
In the final installment every loose end is tied up and although we start off on some pretty shaky ground the author brings us to the perfect ending for this serial series.
Violet grew a lot as a character from where we found her in book one and although that sassy mouth got her a few punishments along the way, I loved the ease at which she had around Rhys. It was something that you never saw when she interacted with Alex during any part of this series. And Rhys... I loved seeing him have to shed his thick skin and show vulnerability in this one.
It was a real treat to watch these two characters come together and overcome the obstacles in their way. And just as the author started this series off with some serious heat, she ends it on the same note. A great serial series that I could not put down. I had to pause between book one and two for a few weeks, but I one-clicked immediately after finishing parts 2 & 3 and did not put my kindle down until I was reading the words “The End” at part four.

The finale of this searing hot, sexy series was spectacular! It picks up on the day after the end of the third book. We know something bad went down but don’t know what. The anticipation of knowing the details of the fallout keeps building as some of the pieces are revealed. While slightly torturous, it was also very clever as the tension and angst mounts.
Like any relationship, Vi and Rhys certainly have their challenges and of course, the past does rear its ugly head. However, I found it was realistic and heartbreaking as these two work to overcome their insecurities and doubt.
These two were as HOT as ever
and Rhys the Dom had me at his command!
A side note: their sexual escapades were colour coded and I gotta say, GOLD was my favourite ;D

Really loved this 4 part short serial. It was perfect for my mood and hectiness of the past few days of not having much reading time.
It was sizzling hot, intriguing, great chemistry and really liked both main characters. Especially Rhys. He was awesome. I loved him! He was probably my favorite part of the serial.
This last installment was a perfect ending to Violet and Rhys' story. Some parts involving Violet were frustrating but at the same time I understood her and didn't bother me much. Rhys made up for it.

I give these volumes 4.5 STARS
I really liked these volumes they were easily read, fun and hot. I finished them all in two days. I loved the characters but I have this little thing about Violet that made me angry.
She was sort of boring, she ran most of the time, she never let Rhys explain himself. And thats what actually the circle in the book. She ran and then they talk over text and then they fuck.
Most of the time I was like WOMEN YOU HAVE TO MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!
And I have be honest but I have a little soft spot for dominating, hot, alpha mans like Rhys and let me just tell you this

One of the best series of 2014! The first book "The Waltz" captivated me and left me wanting more. The second book "The Tango" left me HOT and Bothered and towards the end I was gasping for air! The third book "The Last Dance" left me smiling, heart breaking and then the biggest bomb shell went off that I did not see coming!! The final and forth book "Curtains" was absolutely the best! Just when I think I couldn't love Rhys anymore than I already did, he goes and just makes me MELT!! Lay down your other books ladies and pick this series up because you will not be disappointed! This is not your ordinary Hot, Dominant, Alpha man story. This is about love lost, lust found, lives shattered, people deceived, truth and justice and love found like no other!!
Now if I could get a Holiday Novella about Violet and Rhys, my Christmas would be complete!!

Just when you thought everything is going to be great between Rhys & Vi, someone from their past just came in to make some noise, so-to-speak. Vi now doubts if it's really worth having a relationship with Rhys. While Rhys, on the other hand, just want Vi to understand that he's all-in when it comes to her and all she have to do is trust him. Can they surpass this another obstacle in their relationship?

The last book was the best, more than sizzling! It was a wonderful combination of spicy, bitter and sweet. I loved the epilogue, not only for a hot sexy scene but also a sweet romantic one. I was so happy that finally both Rhys and Violet got their HEA.

Curtains is the final novella in the Sexual Awakenings series and it wasn’t just one of those they walk off into the sunset books.
Vi has been through the ringer in this entire series. She is constantly being attacked verbally, mentally and physically and overcoming every obstacle. But in this final series she comes out on top feeling worthy of herself, Rhys, his child and their love. The emotion displayed in part 4 makes it my favorite of the entire series.

This book gives us the sex, the adorable Rhys and the strong Vi and the epilogue makes me love them and the author so very much.
