Not the worst as college textbooks on Christianity go, but the author's pandering and sugarcoating of certain topics (such as the roles of women and Jews in Church history) is so over-the-top that it offends both radical feminists and reactionary traditionalists.

Scattershot presentation of topics, all poorly motivated. This is more an abridged encyclopedia than an introduction.
